Our City Thoughts, is a digital grassroots org that highlights Miami’s startups, entrepreneurs, and creatives who through their actions and work #RedefineMiami. OCT will be hosting its first “Think Ups” event with Miami Dade College on February 27th.
The Think Ups series was created to challenge attendees to look at what is taking place in the community and to empower those present with real advice and tools from those who have been in the trenches. Each event will have a specific theme, and key spokespeople that will share their stories and vision for Miami.
The first event,"Soft Power During Hard Times" will discuss how with food, culture, and entrepreneurship we have the power to create real connections, meaningful empathy, high social and economic change in our city. Attendees will get the chance to listen to and network with women who have shaken things up to make long lasting impact in Miami.
The key note, Tulasi Srinivas is currently an advisor to the World Economic Forum, Geneva, on the Global Agenda Council. Her knowledge and ability to connect the dots has made her a voice among thought leaders internationally. This will be Srnivas’ first time in South Florida.
Along with Tulasi, Suzanna Valdez, Vice President of Advancement for The Adrienne Arsht Center; Laura Maydon, Managing Director at Endeavor Miami; Lorena Garcia-Duran, Director of Ashoka South Florida; Natalia Martinez, Founder of the Awesome Foundation Miami; and Rebecca Mandelman, Our City Thoughts board member will connect what is happening in Miami to global trends and changes.
