This is the latest in a series of looks at South Florida's collegiate soccer teams as they prepare for the 2009 season.
Team: FAU Women
Coach: Brian Dooley
Conference: Sun Belt (Division I)
2008 record: 7-10-2 (5-4-2)
Key players: F Ashley Mannarino, M Jamie Greeny, GK Ashley Parrinello, GK Ashley Lantes
Key games: Lost 2-0 to Stetson on Aug. 23, at USF Aug. 28, vs. Ball State Aug. 30, at
Georgia Sept. 4, at Clemson Sept. 6, vs. North Texas Oct. 2, vs. Denver Oct. 4
Dooley's take: "It's an interesting scenario. We're kind of a team in transition right now. We have a large freshman class, two seniors on the field, and we're expecting to play a lot of young kids this year and get them the experience. With that in play, you never quite know which way you're going to turn. Sometimes if you get off to a good start, the young kids can build on that confidence. If you get off to a rough start, it's tough for them to fight their way out of it, because they haven't experienced anything other than struggle."

Great news. Keep it up.
