Halftime musings...

US and Czech Republic tied 1-1 at the half in Hartford. Most US starters not in uniform. Game is being used to evaluate bubble players and players who were coming off injuries, like Gooch...One bad sign: Gooch was outjumped by a guy shorter than him. When healthy, that didn't happen. Was he protecting his knee? Bob Bradley hopes not. Will be interesting to see what he does second half.

Edson Buddle looked good, as did Stuart Holden. DaMarcus Beasley made some nice runs, too. Maurice Edu scored the lone US goal.

Team will be trimmed from 30 to 23 after the match. Announcement of final roster at 1 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN live.

We're getting close...Michelinha!
