Rooney's brother in MLS Combine

Been on vacation a few weeks...time to get back to soccer...

The MLS Combine is being held in Fort Lauderdale Sat-Tuesday. 70 prospects auditioning, including John Rooney, the 20-year-old kid brother of ManU star Wayne Rooney. John is a central midfielder. He had trial stints with the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers, liked what he saw, and decided to bring his talents Stateside.

Combine is being held at Central Broward Regional Park. Two matches per day. $10 (cash only) admission.

MLS execs will be here, including commish Don Garber, who has agreed to have a town-hall type meeting with the Miami Ultras, a group of diehard fans who are lobbying to bring MLS to South Florida. They have been bombarding Garber with dozens of emails a day, and he decided to hear them out at 1 p.m. Saturday.

In other news, FIU alum Robin Fraser hired as head coach of Chivas USA. Congrats Robin!
