The reason I write about so many deals is that I just can't stand not sharing them. They pop up in my e-mail, and I think, I could go there! (That's how I ended up in Tahiti years ago.) Then practicality sets in, the bank account rears its nasty head, and I think, oh, maybe I'm better off just writing about them instead.
Of course, you could take advantage of them!
The deal on the posting just prior to this, for Leading Hotels of the World, is one of the best I've seen in eons. That notwithstanding, here are a few others that look just yummy:
- Cathay Pacific Airways is running a sweepstakes with China trip as the prize. Even if you don't win, though, it's worth signing up for the airlines' monthly specials, which sometimes really are irrestible. This month: From $1,046 roundtrip, travelers can fly from Cathay Pacific’s gateway cities of Los Angeles, New York (JFK) or San Francisco to Beijing, Changsha, Dalian, Guilin, Hangzhou, Kunming, Nanjing, Ningbo, Qingdao, Sanya, Shanghai, Shenyang, Wuhan, Xiamen or Xian. Fares include applicable fuel surcharges. Additional government taxes and fees are not included.
- BMI airlines is offering killer deals from the U.S. (Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, DC) to cities in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, Asia and Middle East. Sample roundtrip fares: $1,018 from Washington to Amman, $576 from Philadelphia to Dublin; $660 from Chicago to Brussels. Good for travel from Sept. 30 - March 31. Even with the add-on fares from South Florida, these can be good deals. (As your Mama, said, it's best to shop around.)
