If you don't know Kimpton Hotels, you want to meet them. Kimpton, a Pacific Northwest-based company, was the first hotelier in the U.S. to create boutique hotels. Unlike some of the design-savvy chains, each Kimpton truly is distinctive and unique. All are friendly and include some cozy extras like free wine hour.
And here's a good way to do it: For the next 24 hours, Kimpton is holding a one-day sale with rates starting at $99 per night. You can book online or call 800-546-7866; request code ONE.
Info you'll care about: Rates at it's three New York Hotels start at $239, which is a pretty good deal these days. (I stayed last year at 70 Park Avenue and thought it was a great choice.) Rates at the Epic, which opens here at the mouth of the Miami River in late December, start at $189 (a great place to stash friends and relatives.) Washington, D.C. rates start at $99, and so do those in San Francisco.
The usual caveats apply: Some blackout dates, limited availability, etc. Still, if you've got a trip on your calendar, it's a deal worth checking out. TODAY.
