Yesterday was a rainy mess, but today Washington is clear and beautiful and filled with cherry blossoms just about to peak.
On my last visit here, in 2002, the White House was barracaded. Today you can again walk right up to the black iron fence and gaze up the roling lawn at the people's house. Even in yesterday's rain, it was a stirring sight, and a reminder that even in difficult times this is a great nation.

One of these years I'm going to get to DC for Cherry Blossom season... I have these gorgeous pics of my mom and dad in front of the blossoms when they were about my age and it makes me want to replicate the shots with my husband. Enjoy the weekend and your editors meetings - looking forward to hearing about that fish pedicure!
