Q: Jacory, After whom do you model your style, or do you feel the way you play the game is unique, and if so, why is that?
- CVS Posted by: CaneVAStud | August 28, 2007 at 08:50 PM

A: I model my style after Chris Leak because of how smart he is and because of the things he does brings the team closer together. I feel it is a unique style because its a combination of different things, I can scramble if you want me to and I can sit in the pocket and throw. With me, you pick your poison. I know Canes fans won't like it cause he's a Gator, but he's my favorite quarterback.

Jacory,

Do you think you would have commited to play for Miami if Randy Shannon wasn't the head coach?

Kirby it is time to show the world you can play and not do mop up duty after kyle crushed up with his lack of heart to lead us back.

He is worst than FRANK COSTA & tied with Brock the flop.

DVD i knew he had it in him to step up any body know if Doug will play?

I think kirby is so hungry he will lead us to the top.

I think Colin will be another great!
I am also ready to see coop run the rock.

Q: Jacory, Are you disapointed that you won't have an opportunity to play a college game in the OB? Posted by: Big Moo | August 28, 2007 at 08:55 PM

A: I'm not really disappointed because I got a couple chances to play there as a high school player with the size of the crowds we had for some games at Northwestern. But maybe I will miss it -- a little. I always envisioned myself coming out of the OB tunnel and seeing thousands of fans cheering for you. It will be something I'll miss because that's something I've always had in my dreams. I'm sure some other guys will miss it too. Just being on that field is lovely, its a feeling you feel like your right there with the crowd.

Manny as always thank you for great interviews, keeping it real and being the journalist of the people for the people, peace bro. But don't forget to answer my question about Kayne. Thanks.

A: To answer honestly, I don't think I would have. Not saying anything racist, but all the quarterbacks I've seen before that were white quarterbacks and black quarterbacks never really got the chance to play. With Larry Coker, I think all he wanted was California quarterbacks. But with Randy, it made everything better.

Jacory, thanks for taking time to visit with us. Best of luck this season.
Stay focused, stay hungry!

Manny,
Great hanging out with you as always!
peace

OK guys. I'm going to call DeMarcus Van Dyke now for a story I'm doing on him. If he's up for some questions, I'll have him answer some for you now in the next 10 minutes. But if not, I'm going to end this session.

Did you enjoy it?

Comment of the night ,wow, way to say your peace ,all he ever wanted was CALIFORNIA qbs/

Good stuff Manny, as always.

Ok. BONUS!!! DVD is going to field some questions. Fire away.

Thanks, Manny. Terrific job.

Damn good Q&A brother.thanks

Hey little D,did you already know you were going to start before today.

And what does the guys think about kirby starting ,ok no cliches, speak your mind.

Whose the hardest WR to stick in practice?

What recruit would you most want to play with next year? (The best prospect in your opinion)?

Q: Hey little D,did you already know you were going to start before today. Posted by: Deameanor | August 28, 2007 at 09:08 PM

A: I had a good feeling, but I wasn't really sure about it. It just showed all my hard work is coming to reality now. It's all paying off right now. My family called me to find out. They were all excited. It's hard getting tickets, but they're going to be at the game Saturday.

DVD watch what you say.
Shannon will eventually read every word
peace

A: Toughest player to stick is Lance Leggett. He's so long, its hard to get him on the jam. He's real fast an athletic. It's tough to get a hand on him. For a recruit, I'd love to get all the kids from Northwestern, Patrick Johnson and I'd love to Brandon Harris. I loved what I saw from his Saturday. He showed that Dade County swagger and did his thing against the receiver from Summerville. I like that.

I can see what Jacory meant by that. Coker seemed to favor the high profile, golden boy looking kinda guy. The prototypical 6'4-6'5 QB with a "golden arm" (USC QB's) .
With Randy, i dont think he cares who you are, where you're from, or how you look He just wants a guy that'll get the job done. I thinks that's evident with his choice of Kirby. He's seems scrappy and like a guy with a fighter's mentality.

And do you think you got the nod because of injuries?

DVD, First off congrats!! Love seein you come in and start on one of the top secondaries in the country.

What player were you most impressed by this summer?

Q: And do you think you got the nod because of injuries? Posted by: Deameanor | August 28, 2007 at 09:12 PM

A: I really don't know. If I did, I'm just happy I got the chance to start this year. Right now, they're feeling better. Today, they had Randy Phillips with the 1s. That's how it could be on Saturday.

Kenny Dorsey was a golden boy looking guy???
you are of course SHyting me right??
peace

A: I'd have to say Sam Shields and Graig Cooper because of their speed and they bring it to the table. We haven't raced each other yet, but we will in the spring time with a 40-yard dash. Sam Shields is the fastest right now with a 4.26. I ran a 4.34 in the summer time with the freshmen.

Anything said that Kirby got the nod because Kyle is more banged up than they are letting on?

And Solar Im going to have to ban you for that language...

Good luck DVD you are a cane for life brother.

Q: Anything said that Kirby got the nod because Kyle is more banged up than they are letting on? Posted by: pb | August 28, 2007 at 09:16 PM

A: I don't know because I'm with the defensive side. Kyle has been getting reps in practice so, I really don't know.

DVD you seem to possess tremendous speed and "make-up" ability. Do you plan to run track for the U in the Spring, and what do you believe are your strengths and weaknesses at your CB position?

OK guys. I'm signing off. DVD says thanks for all the compliments. Jacory Harris wanted me to tell you guys ITS GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE!

Ok. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Peace.

Does Swasey have you on a weight and muscle gain routine? Has RS or any other coach mentioned using your talent on offense? IMO, Shannon & Nix will approach you about going both ways when you get that muscle and reach the 190's (lbs)!

DVD,
What has been the hardest part of your progression from when you first got to the U?
Thanks and goodluck this wseekend!!!

One last question..

A: I plan to run track in the spring time. My weaknesses are that I take too many chances because of my speed. I have to adjust to college now. My strengths are reading receivers routes and jamming and being physical.

some good info Manny ,very good thanks.

Thanks gentlemen... looking forward to following your career to MULTIPLE National Championships under Coach Randy, DVD, have a great season!

Let's Go Canes!

Thanks Manny...

That was great! Thanks Manny!

awesome Q and A thanks a lot Manny!

I'm mad at myself for missing the Q&A. Great questions from the legion and answers by Manny, Jacory and DVD. This **** is getting crazy. I use to be like a junkie trying to find a fix but between Manny, Shandel, 86 Cane, Rivals and InsidetheU I'm about to overdose. IT's GREAT TO BE A CANE!!!! TODAY I BOUGHT MY TICKETS FOR THE MARSHALL GAME AND I CAN'T WAIT.

Thanks for the interviews, Manny. It is indeed GREAT TO BE A HURRICANE!!!

Great Job Manny. wow DVD is the man. I love fast CB's. To think sharpe is not starting is big time cause if you could weigh talent this guy would be one of the heaviest on the team. but who knows this guy can come in and never give his spot back, that is the way it is at the "U".

Speaking of tickets, we need to get out and support our Canes this season. Last year at the OB and the ticket office is claiming that there are still a lot of seats available for Marshall. Hopefully, we make a nice run on tickets these last couple of days. It'd be a shame to have under 60k for the last Canes season opener at the old girl.

Great job Manny. This is what a sports reporter is supposed to do.

I'm very impressed with Harris and DVD.

I still think Shannon's letting a few guys heal for the long haul while giving their 2nd's some very valuable reps, on defense only that is.

Manny great work tonite. Keep it up. It greatly appreciated

worried about cornerback play again this year. no more big plays on us! punch the damn receivers in their mouths!

Great post Manny, easily the best in the nation. Far better than espn or fox sports. GO CANES!!!

hey manny navarro, your august 28th entry elicited the most posts in your blog's brief history! JUST THE BEGINNING ...

I can;t wait to see Jacory at the U and bring that Miami swagger of dominance.
