Who is UM's next big recruiting target?

Manny,
Are you as confident as me that PJ ends up a Cane after the Arthur Brown commitment. His whole recruitment has been one of the national media stories all year, this has got to give us momentum with him and others. Plus, #1 DT, LB, & CB? Has that ever been done?

Manny,
Who's your favorite recruit this year? Personally and for ability.

Manny,

I think Winston Moss is heading down for the D coordinator job, have you heard any rumors of this?

Hey Manny,

Anything new on Patchan?Hear he is supposed to announce in the next week or so and i think he is a must get. Do you think on the big day he'll be a cane?

Whats up Manny? Of course any leads in the D Cord.? With the collection talent we gathered in this years recruiting class and last years, any reason we could not win 8 to 9 games next year? You have been around Miami practice this year, is Marve the real deal? Waltons firing changing any recruits minds? Thanks, keep up the good work.

1. DO you think we are really putting too much pressure on this years incoming recruiting class? Or do you think they can help achieve an 8+ win season?

2. Any news on recruits' reaction to Walton being ousted (other than the one you posted about Forston in your initial article)?

3. Do you think Browns committment will help sway other recruits TO or FROM UM?

4. Who do you think would be a good candidate for the new DC?

5. Who is on the list for enrolling in the Spring?

6. Any news on Patchan, Johnson, or Harris?

Wassup Manny, I believe that Randy Shannon had to let Tim Walton go because it seems as if the defense under him just seemed out of sync alot of times. I really didn't see any cohesiveness in that defense under him. I just believe that all of this year the OC's that we faced were just lickin there chops to call plays against Tim Walton because they knew he couldn't adjust. I know the timing was a little awkard, but I agree with it, do you?

What is the latest on the early enrollees? If no update, when will we know? Any update on Brown's family moving to Miami, and if so, where does his brother play in miami? thanks for your hard work

7. Is Calais Campbell announcing anytime soon if he's going pro?

8. Who is Patrick Hill? I found nothing on Scout and Rivals. Any other under the radar players you know about?

Do you have any sense of how Shannon felt about the offense this past year specifically Nix's play-calling? How much input does Shannon really have? Some of the play-calling especially in the red zone was very questionable this year and i think everyone is concerned about the lack of tight end and fullback use. I know it seems we are recruiting these skill position players but will we really use them?

Manny what's up with the Walton situation?

Manny,
What is it going to take to get fans to support the basketball team? This team is 10 - 0, yet less than 2000 fans showed up for the Monday night game. What is it going to take to win the support of so called CANEFANS? Why would a five star player want to come play for Miami with it's near empty arena when they can play in front of a packed house every game - Think about CANEFANS...Then go out and support the team, they deserve it!

Where do U think Pathcan ends up? Keep up the great work U are doing.

What are the chances of Miami landing Brandon Harris, Matt Patchan, Tommy Streeter and do you think Miami will hire from within or outside the program for a DC?

Manny,

1. Which of the 26 commits do you feel are the most likely to go elsewhere?

2. What is your personal "OPINION" about whether or not Calais will go pro?

3. Have you kicked the bug you caught in Orlando yet?

Manny,

Even though Darrell Scott has the U listed as a school he's interested in, are we putting any effort in trying to get him seeing how RB isn't really a high priority for us next year?

Manny,

Even though Darrell Scott has the U listed as a school he's interested in, are we putting any effort in trying to get him seeing how RB isn't really a high priority for us next year?

Manny:

1) Do you think there is any chance Ed Orgeron becomes UMs DC?

2) Do you think the staff has a solid chance to land Stoops to be our new DC?

3) Is Tenuta or Van Gorder a likely replacement as DC?

4) How much are we willing to spend to attract a top-flight DC?

Thanks in advance...

Sup Manny?
1st. I must say thank U for all the support and recognition U have given us at canespace...
2nd. I hope that U and the Navarro Family have a blessed christmas.
now to business.
Is Dolphin stadium even in the mix as a recruiting tool?
Does it matter at all?

wad up juan?
Thanks for giving the canespaceballers the love at the Championships Manny!

With everyone falling all over themselves over PJ who do you see as the underdog stealing most of the praise from him when practice starts?

Have a Merry Christmas and good health in the new year Manny
peace

It is obvious Patrick nix was not comfortable at calling the plays with the choices he had at QB this year, it is safe to say that was not the type of offense he wanted to run, my question is, if jacory Harris does end up signing with the U will Nix be running some type of spread offense?

Manny,

1)Carne con Papas? or Vaca Frita?

2)Dr. Pepper? or IronBeer?

3)Flan? or Tres Leches?

4)Rum? or Scotch?

Manny-

Thanks for taking the time do do these each week!

Q: What atmosphere do you see for next year at Joe Robbie (will always be 2 me) for the U games? And are they taking recruits to the stadium "selling" it and the opportunity to play in a NFL stadium?

Thanks!

Carlos,

Tu eres un pendejo!

passitback2me,

Me voy a cagar en tu madre.

:)

Q: Who is UM's next big recruiting target? Posted by: nemo2002 | December 18, 2007 at 08:21 PM

A: Without question is Matt Patchan. He's the next big name to choose. It's going to be UM or Florida.

Hey Manny,

Thanks for your continued coverage of our Canes.

Looking forward to NSD in Feb.

Do you see us landing most of our verbals? And who do you see jumping ship?

Have you actually "spoken" with Randy lately? What's he up to?

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

walton goes with saban to west virginia - ya heard it here 1st.

saban is going to WVU?

Q: Are you as confident as me that PJ ends up a Cane after the Arthur Brown commitment. His whole recruitment has been one of the national media stories all year, this has got to give us momentum with him and others. Plus, #1 DT, LB, & CB? Has that ever been done? Posted by: getatmedog | December 18, 2007 at 08:25 PM

A: I honestly don't think one has anything to do with the other -- not in this case. Patrick Johnson has never been about team through this whole recruiting process. He's been about one person -- PJ. And PJ is going to make the best decision for PJ. I think he loves Miami. But I also believe he's fallen in love with the attention he's received from people like Urban Meyer and Pete Carroll. So, as much as I would like to tell you PJ will end up a Cane, I don't think he will.

Q: Manny, Who's your favorite recruit this year? Personally and for ability. Posted by: croociac | December 18, 2007 at 08:28 PM

A: Marcus Forston, Jacory Harris and potentially Brandon Harris. Marcus and Jacory are two fun guys to be around. They're always having fun, being funny and are obviously both extremely talented. Brandon Harris is a guy I think will be an amazing player and leader at Miami.

Have to agree with you there on the PJ issue Manny... (don't want to, but have to.)

How does the Tim Walton firing affect recruiting? could it possibly be a good thing?

Manny, the loss of current DC seriously mess with any recruits? I know he was close with NW boys....

Why is Walton the only coaching getting fired? Our special teams was putrid all year. Why isn't Pannunzio(or however it's spelled) being held accountable as well?

Q: Manny, I think Winston Moss is heading down for the D coordinator job, have you heard any rumors of this? Posted by: Mike | December 18, 2007 at 08:34 PM

A: There are tons of rumors out there. One I don't think will happen is Ed Ogreron. He's got too much personal baggage from what I hear. The next couple of weeks though ought to be interesting.

With the fallout at FSU, you think Miami picks up any recruits?

With Walton gone, who's going to be the new DC? You see this coming. Miami has a chance to hit a home run with an awesome DC.

Hey Manny,

Happy Holidays and thanks for all of your great work.

Who do you think is on the short list for defensive coordinator? Who would you choose if you were Randy? How long do you think it'll take to fill that spot?

Thanks again.

Q: Hey Manny, anything new on Patchan? Hear he is supposed to announce in the next week or so and i think he is a must get. Do you think on the big day he'll be a cane? Posted by: Jon29 | December 18, 2007 at 08:35 PM

A: Patchan is supposed to announce this week. From what I heard last week while I was out in Orlando chatting up with recruiting gurus like Mike Bakas and Newberg from Scout.com, they believe he'll end up with Florida. I know the feeling at Canes headquarters is they think Patchan loves Miami, but could be pushed to go to Florida by his family. It will be interesting to see who wins out. I think he's going to Florida.

Manny, who do you think will be the next big time recruit that commits to the U? Who would you like to see commit?

MANNY,

what is going on with DT Chaz Washington and DT chris Perry ?

Manny,

How can Patchan's family be pushing Florida??!? Didn't his dad play for Miami? Wasn't Randy Shannon a teammate of his dad's?

Did I read that right, Manny? Patchan could be pushed to UF by his family?

Manny,

Besides the obvious studs, who's going to be stepping big time next year?

With all the new talent and speed at Linebacker, do U see ALLEN BAILEY making the switch to D-line for the good of the team???

you know i really dont like manny anymore... have you been drinking?? patchans family wanting him to go to UF... word on the street the brown and patchan going to the same school together...

Q: Whats up Manny? Of course any leads in the D Cord.? With the collection talent we gathered in this years recruiting class and last years, any reason we could not win 8 to 9 games next year? You have been around Miami practice this year, is Marve the real deal? Waltons firing changing any recruits minds? Thanks, keep up the good work. Posted by: DA U | December 18, 2007 at 08:44 PM

A: What's up DA U. I'm good. As for the defensive coordinator spot, I don't want to speculate. My source at the U tells me there are no names yet, just speculation. When I mentioned Orgeron to my source, they laughed.

As far as wins are concerned, to me the biggest question mark heading into next season is the passing game. How will the young quarterback who starts next season be? Can he honestly make this offense better with a young cast of receivers that quicky. I think UM loses the games it is supposed to and ultimately ends up with the record it should have had this year -- somewhere around 7-5.

As far as Marve is concerned, everytime I've seen this kid throw the ball what has impressed me most is his accuracy. The last three guys to start under center for UM always seem to be off to me. Marve is always money on his throws.
