Hate to do this to you guys, but a long day at the airport, followed by another long night helping my brother move is going to force me to answer questions later tonight and not do this week's session live.
My apologies. Feel free to start leaving questions for me below. I hope to be on tonight around midnight to answer them if you guys are willing to stay up that late.
UPDATE... 1:09 a.m. - OK, I'm finally going to start answering questions. For those of you who waited up until midnight I apologize. I was tied up with the move and didn't get home until now. I heard about the Bill Young rumors. I'll address it below.

Dont you hate it when family asks you to help them move?
Especially when they should be throwing out most of what they are taking?

Hey manny !!!
Whats worst Miami Dade public Schools? or Univ of Miami Admissions?
I just don't understand why other south fla, kids can get in to private universities such as Notre Dame, Duke, and other elite universities with nooo problem but we can't seem to enroll our recruits into the UM with ease. Our future recruits take the necessary steps but some are having transcript glitch, half credit short, not along their highschool kids take college courses and playing football.
Its heart breaking as a fan and I can't even imagine as a recruit!!!
thanks,

yo main man manny. so what's up with brandon harris? big time recruit and i feel a top priority at CB for this miami fball team. very proud of randy but still really getting worried about him. way i see it, the longer he goes WITHOUT committing to us is another day where our chances are going down. your thoughts???

Are the current players available for interviews and, if so, can you do an interview with:
Kanye
Marve
JJ
Cooper
And, get their opinion on last season performance, next year team, and personal goals for next season?
Posted by: Kanesville | January 16, 2008 at 08:24 PM
Manny,
Do you think that the MNW kids will have any problems with admission by the deadline? Is this routine stuff or have you heard there are real issues?

manny,
its perhaps noteworthy that rs has not hired a defensive coordinator yet. as someone else already pointed out, we are well out of the bowl season and past the coaches conference, however we have yet to hire a dc. the party line seems to be that rs and the staff are focused on recruiting (and rightly so), however i wonder if this isn't just spin to conceal other potential challenges like--
we're having hard time competing with the salary packages offered by other schools because shalala and the crew are being tight with the purse strings--
or--
few coaches of note want to come this way not wanting to deal with the likelihood that rs (a spectacular dc in his own right) will probably be looking over their shoulders--
or worse (and i hesitate to believe this)--
rs, doesn't have the "pull" (money shortage notwithstanding) to attract well-known coaching talent at the dc level position.
i'm not panicking. in rs i trust. just wondering what's up????

Manny,
What walk-ons received a scholarship, what role will Kylan Robinson and Daniel Adderly play next season, and what the status on Romeo Davis and Glenn Cook?

Hey Manny, is TJ Bryant a realistic target? ESPN seems to think Miami has a great shot at him but other sites think he is a FSU lock due to location. Isn't his mom from down here and will that factor in at all? Thanks and keep up the good work.

What are the odds we get Corey Liuget? Randy supposedly met him and his family for 2 hours on a recent in home visit. Did that visit improve our chances? I heard his mom was impressed. Put him, Fortson, and Regis together and you got a dominant rotation in the middle once these guys are ready for the college game.

hey manny whats good. corners how many are bringing in. heard anything about george baker getting an offer. do you think randy is done with the firings. coach pann can go as special teams coach.

will they paint the logo at mid feild and will they paint the endzones for all or any hurricane games at dolphin stadium. In tampa for usf bull games it seems to be a game to game thing. Also how do you think the attendece will compare to the ob?

Manny,
Whats the word on Bill Young?
Whats up Mannypi?
What a tease this is with young...

How do UM's basketball coaches feel about Rios' developement and work ethic this season?
Many of the football coaches are developing a rep as good recruiters...that said what could possibly be their strategy in NOT calling guys like Brandon Washington very often. BW recently told Rivals that he is just now starting to get calls again from UM. Is this a case of Rivals overblowing the facts or is there truth to it?
Posted by: RyanC | January 16, 2008 at 10:10 PM
Many,
What do you know about alonzo lawrence? and is it true that Robert Marve was not offered a scolarship to either florida of fsu, if so why was that?
Posted by: ryan | January 16, 2008 at 10:15 PM
We need coner
Posted by: terry | January 16, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Who's this new name from Texas that Rivals reported about. Bushell? His HC coach says he's serious about Miami and that he's a heck of a CB. Any truth to this?
Also, please tell me George Baker is gonna get an offer. His exactly the type of kid we've been missing out on the past few years.
Posted by: JoeyJr | January 16, 2008 at 10:40 PM
Manny, CSTV posted a story today that Bill Young is the new DC? Any truth to this?
Also what is the latest on Ramon Buchanon and Cory Liuget?
Posted by: Viktor | January 16, 2008 at 10:40 PM
Manny:
Hope the move went well and that your back is still in good shape. This is my first real year following recruiting closely. Tell me what happens on National Signing Day. What if we have more commits that scholarships available? Also, if we many recruits not sign with us, can we offer new prospects that day....ie. Baker (CB), Jonathan Jackson (DE) or maybe other prospects?
Thanks
Posted by: ChicagoCane | January 16, 2008 at 10:40 PM
Is The Don involved with getting the early enrollees into the U? Is she putting pressure on the SLOW Dade County process? Seems like Dade should get off their butts and get these kids into school. Nothing helps the county out more than having a high graduation rate!
Posted by: West Coast Ibis | January 16, 2008 at 10:43 PM
I know Wylie did not get in early. If the four NW kids do not get in early, does that mean 5 less scholarships for this year? If so, are we pretty much done?
Posted by: ChicagoCane | January 16, 2008 at 10:44 PM
Just cause the Northwestern don't get in early doesn't mean they don't get in at all....If for some reason they didn't get in early they would still sign with UM on National Signing day and start in the summer...
Posted by: Adam | January 16, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Why is it that the entire world except the NCAA knows that PJ received money and gifts from LSU and yet nothing is going to happen in the form of sanctions or anything like that. The NCAA will call and warn um for not stopping fans from talking to recruits but LSU is breaking every major rule in the book without so much as a glance from the NCAA. My question for you george is WHY?????????????
Posted by: urban lier | January 16, 2008 at 10:53 PM
Manny,
Has Sonny Lubick been contacted about the DC position? Would love to have him back on staff even though he turned down the bigger gig the year before? Would there be too big a clashing of egos w/ him on board under Shannon?
Posted by: Russell | January 16, 2008 at 10:57 PM

Whats up with Tommy Streeter?
Posted by: Canesjunkie | January 16, 2008 at 11:23 PM
Can you give us any insight into the relationship between Nix and Shannon? Any word on the offense we will be running next year?
Posted by: Canesjunkie | January 16, 2008 at 11:24 PM
If CSTV is right, i think Bill Young is a great hire. He was able to take 2 and 3 star players and turn them into the # 12 ranked defense in the country. Just imagine what he will be able to do with guys like forston and arthur brown. Kansas' recent stud CB and future first round draft pick was only a 2 star. http://kansas.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=24663
