Murphy's message received

University of Florida receiver Louis Murphy had something special to say about The U after the Gators' season-opening win against Hawaii Saturday. Consider it the first real shot in a war of words that will likely continue this week leading up to the showdown in the Swamp.

Louis_murphy
"If I'm right, the 'U' stands for the University of Miami," Murphy told our Joseph Goodman after the game (CLICK HERE TO LISTEN). "Well, we're the University of Florida. We're the 'U.' I don't refer to them as the 'U.' I refer to them as Miami. If the 'U' is for university and winning and championships, we're the 'U.' They are Miami, and that's what I call them."

Let's just say the message has been received. I spoke with UM receiver Leonard Hankerson tonight for a feature story I'm doing on him and close friend Major Wright, who starts at safety for the Gators and who played with Hankerson at Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas High.

Hankerson said when he arrived at UM Sunday night for a practice closed to the media, a copy of Murphy's quote had been blown up and posted in every locker. "It definitely pumped us up," Hankerson said by phone. "We were already pumped up for this game, but now the guys are really getting excited.

"We all want to win bad. Right now, we feel like nobody in the nation respects Miami. We're going to earn our respect."

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for this game on Saturday.

PS - For those of you wondering who Louis Murphy is, he's the guy who starts opposite Percy Harvin. He had 37 catches for 548 yards and 6 TDs last season. He had 2 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown against Hawaii. And he's a Recreation Event Management major from St. Petersburg.

green,

You want to talk about IMPERSONAL. It looks like Miami's athletics department also follows their classroom philosophy. A personalized experience. And a 1:30 ratio for teacher to student and player to fan.

Looking at the Canes leave the entire upper level empty is an embarrassment.

Opening game at a new stadium draws 50,000? Gators have never come close to that. Gators get 90,000+ for Western Kentucky.

IMPERSONAL is right.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on Meyer's play calling. I do not have a link just my opinion.

Sometimes teams quit, good coaches and all. That team last year was not Randy's. My favorite Randy quote, "Can't cut them." He had to deal with another coaches players but once the year was over he got rid of the cancers and brought in the #1 recruiting class of the nation. So time will tell.

One year does not make a coach!! Do you think Frank Beamer is good coach? His team quit on him this weekend.

Can a knowledgeable UM fan breakdown the strengths and weaknesses of your team? I will go first- our weakness is past defense; safety (despite what we did against Hawaii).

Canes absolutely have more championships. Congratulations. No doubt, about it.

Enjoy those 5 rings, because you will honestly never see another one.

There is no denying Miami was also the benefactor of very easy scheduling where your most difficult game every year was Virginia Tech and FSU. If Miami won 2 key games every year, they were in the title game. That is no longer the case. Even in your weak conference, you still have to beat Clemson, Va Tech, BC, Wake, FSU, and Florida every now and then. And of that schedule, Florida is your toguhest opponent.

It isnt that hard to win 2 key games every year, pop up in the title game, and have a crapshoot win like you did until you joined the ACC.

Canes have more rings. Congrats. But, as the years pass you will find yourselves living in the past more and more. The Gators are the future. First team in history to win football and basketball titles in the same year. No signs of slowing down. Graduated a ton of seniors on defense last year, rebuilt the entire thing with freshmen and had 4 losses in the toughest conference in America. Canes missed a bowl game in the worst conference in America. Now Meyer just reloads every year.

Gators upgraded their facilities yet again. Canes are regressing.

Things go in cycles, but that is when all else is equal. Canes are at a major disadvantage because of their fanbase! They draw no money, their facilities suck and they cant pay top dollar for top coaches.

Meanwhile the Gators just rebuilt their strength and conditioning center and lockerooms yet again. State of the art. Sick stuff. When a recruit visits these facilities, and goes on the field for 90,000+ the decision is a no-brainer. Then he goes to Miami sees terrible facilities and the upper deck empty on the field.

Gators and Noles may go in cycles because they have money and facilities, but Miami will not play for another title ever again unless something major changes at UM. More than any head coaching change. I'm talking about their own facility, state of the art, a sudden resurgence in fan interest and money.

So enjoy those 5 titles and keep living in the past.

Recommending listening: Bruce Springsteen, Glory Days.

I think it is VERY clear that the problem is that most of you Miami fans have never attended a "U". I honestly hope that most of you are just dade county teenagers talking smack.

If you guys are so confident, then make the trek up to The Swamp on Saturday. There are plenty of hotel rooms still available. Just like when teams like the Western Carolina, Vanderbilt etc come to town.

Just make sure you get your parents to say the room is for them because I believe you have to be 21 to get a room.

Listen, UM dominated in the 80's. They were in no conference and:
1983- Played ZERO ranked teams away from the OB.
got beat by UF 28-3

1987 finished the season with 6 STRAIGHT home games. Only played away 4 times.

1989 Finally play a ranked team away and lost o FSU but beat Pitt at Pitt.

Played a 7th ranked team for the title

1991 Pretty good year but once again you get to play your bowl game at HOME.

2001 Absolute JOKE of a schedule.

Let's not forget where you would be if FSU could kick a damn field goal.

3 out of 5 of your NC's come from being able to play your bowl game at that hunk of concrete you called the Orange Bowl.

Oh and Goodman...Have fun getting access to UF players while it lasted.

Thanks you Duhhhh Yew for not being a namecaller but the facilities are just fine, in fact most of the NFL canes come back to the U and work out all summer. They could work out anywhere and the choose the U gym so it must not be that bad.

The canes will be fine, the facilities are fine, recruits will continue to come, we will continue to have a great academic reputation. That is what sets us apart and always has, a small school with a great football team. IT is all about the "U" and will continue to be about the "U". It is okay we know you GATORS just don't get it.

jagator | September 01, 2008 at 01:38 PM

My Father is an undergraduate and law school grad, my daughter will be a freshman at the "U" next year and I was not able to attend because my husband was in Air Force and after Hurricane Andrew we were transferred to No Cal. But I am still a Cane Football Fan!!

I live in Orlando with many of your "so called" Gators fan WHO NEVER HAVE EVEN BEEN TO Gainesville much less attended the University. So are you saying they can't have a discussion about the football team? They know nothing??

canechic,

NO EXCUSES! The fact remains, you know very little about Urban Meyer. You dont realize that everytime you make a point, you are proving more and more why Meyer is a better coach than Shannon.

1. Did you know that when Ron Zook was fired, his players didnt want to play for anyone else? They rallied to support him, many threatened to transfer. Meyer inherited that situation, and by the time they left they had a ton of respect for Meyer and loved him as a coach lead them to a good turnaround that year and winning record. Meanwhile, Shannon says "cant cut them", his players quit and he fails to make a bowl game.

2. In addition to getting his old coaches players to love him, Meyer pulled in a #1 and #2 classes himself.

3. Last years' class heralded as #1 by Canes fans was #5 on Rivals. Gators were #3.

http://rivals100.rivals.com/teamrank.asp?SID=880

Rivals: 2008 - Gators #3 Class, Miami #5
2007: Gators #1 class unanimous (Scout and Rivals #1 class)
2006: Gators #2 class unanimous (scout and rivals #2 class)

Scout also ranks Miami's supposive #1 class as #3.

Lmao oh lord, I talk about championships and you turn it into facilities? And thank you canechic for bringing up an excellent point, we have the majority of former Canes (NFL Superstars) come back to work out at the U, along with Plax and Chad Johnson and many others, so yea you cant use that one guys, good try though. Most of you idiots forget Miami is a private college, we dont get the funds you do. And you bring up our past 'weak' schedules, you see in the Natl Championship game we STILL tore b*tches up which were from OTHER conferences, our 2001 team would work ANY Gator team, and there is no doubt in my mind about that.

And the fan base s*it is stupid, you cant compare Miami (a MAJOR city) to gainesville, a private college to a public college. There is PLENTY to do in Miami unlike gainesville. If Miami was a public college we would need a 100,000 seat stadium, no doubt.

And many gaytor fans fail to realize we ALSO won a Natl Championship in 2 sports in the same year (baseball and football) but many dont 'count' baseball for some reason although americans consider it 'america's sport'.

So keep comin with your bull*hit, I got something for everyone of you.

canechic,

Check out UMs facilities, then check out UFs. There are plenty of live online video feeds, pictures, virtual tours.

You will be amazed at the difference. It is night and day.

You will see why this is the cracks starting to show for UM, and not some cold spell. Look at the empty stadium at UM, look at the poor facilities, look at the poor confernece.

ESPN and CBS just signed major TV deals with the SEC. Every single game a kid recruited by UF will be broadasted on ESPN or CBS. What a recruiting tool.

TV deals, facilities, fan base, UM is in a downward spiral and will be for a long time.

I am telling you. These things dont happen by accident. Miami will never win another title unless something drastic changes. You can change coaches all you want, but you need MONEY, a major TV DEal, a new conference, new teams in your conference, SOMETHING. Otherwise the Canes will always be a few steps behind.

1987 finished the season with 6 STRAIGHT home games. Only played away 4 times.

Gators are the same way, and when the play away, they try to play at neutral field.

Duh Yew

Just shut up

I didnt know better facilites made your team better. You probably still think by wearing nikes you run faster.

5rings,

Nobody talks about baseball, because baseball doesnt bring in the money! Baseball is my favorite sport. It's not accident though that it gets omitted. A baseball national title has no major impact on your school. Football and basketball are the money sports. You win a title in those sports....Thats when you start selling merchandise, and generating money for your school to upgrade your facilities. Not baseball.

Kids growing up today dont care about Jimmy Johnson, Bernie Kosar and Jim Kelly. Half of them dont even know who they are. Nobody today knows who Gino Toretta is. These kids dont pick schools because you won a few rings in the 1980s.

You have to look at your school and look where it is headed. It goes far beyond the head coach and it all comes down to MONEY.

UM doesnt have their own football stadium anymore, they are PAYING Mr. Huizenga a big fat check to rent out their stadium. Huizenga isnt doing it for free, he is doing it to make money off UM. And when UM leaves the upper deck open, it cuts into their PROFITS to upgrade facilities and remain competitive.

UM is on a downward spiral, and 1 coaching change and a recruiting class isnt going to change that.

This weekend, you will see a 90,000 seat state of the art stadium. You can fill it up with hillbillies or banana boaters, but it is full. UF is making a ton of money selling their national title gear from football and basketball. The titles are fresh in kids minds. Their recruiting classes are consistently top 3. The university continues major expansion and upgrades.

UF was a sleeping giant, and now they are awake.

You want to talk about the PRESENT and the FUTURE it is Florida. Not Miami.

As I said, congrats on your titles. Enjoy them because they will be few and far between moving forward.

Kids growing up today dont care about Jimmy Johnson, Bernie Kosar and Jim Kelly. Half of them dont even know who they are. Nobody today knows who Gino Toretta is. These kids dont pick schools because you won a few rings in the 1980s.

Actually they do, listen to what most of the recruits say. they come to miami cause of their history, their titles, them having a chance at a national championship. if miami didnt have it history of winning and titles. They wouldnt get half of the recruits.

Listen to waht our 08 class said, they are coming to THE U to bring miami back to the glory days.

5rings you'll never understand. There are a lot of things that go into recruiting and facilities are a big part of that. If you can't follow along, dont play the game.

You seem to think national titles from the mid 80s are going to save your program moving into the new era of modern football. I am trying to show you the dream world you are living in.

When you cant sell out your own stadium, you will never get a new TV Deal like the SEC just got. A billion dollar deal that shelves out multi millions of dollars to each SEC institute just for playing the games on TV.

Besides a huge flow of cash that comes in, it brings exposure the top players want to play that many games on national TV in front of decision makers, pro scouts etc.

These top players want to be treated like kings in a top nothc facility and they want to play for the Bill Parcell's of the world and their fans on national TV.

You are missing a major point to recruiting, a major point to building a successful program moving forward and it has nothing to do with some championship the Canes won in 1988.

The Canes are going down in a big way. The Gators are moving up. It is just starting and I'm saving you the heartbreak. You can look back years from now and say I told you so.

I may be a jerk about it, and you may not want to hear it or believe it, but this is the way the real world works outside of your "da U" slogans.

orange you are naive if you believe that.

When you sit down with your family and you are an 18 year old kid trying to make a life decision you do NOT pick a school because of a logo. You pick because of your future whether it is playing time, facilities, pro exposure, TV, academics whatever it may be.

If you think a kid picks a school because he wants to bring them back to the glory days you have mental problems.

Sure every now and then you will have a few kids born and raised in Miami and they grew up big fans and they pick because of a logo, but the majority of kids are so well schooled these days they do not pick a school because they are a fan.

All that is is those kids doing an interviw and showing they believe in the team concept - just like every guy does. Johnny Damon left the redsox to play for the yankees. Very few people care and it all comes to securing your future.

Why you keep bringing up the conference?

Is it our fault we paly in a garbage conference.
We left the Big East to play in a better conference, it not our fault it sucks. we tried to improve our conference.

Facilities dont mean a thing. if it does wow do all these pro bowlers come down here and workout instead of going to their camps?

Facilities dont make players. How come we got the most players in the NFL?

Great you got a got stadium. Great you a public university, which has the most student in the southeast.

We are a private instution, and does not have they alumni like you do. SO WHAT?

We still compete with you, we still beat you, we still have more titles then you. We are still more successful then you.

Ok well then its alot harder to do what we are doing than what YOU are doing. A 5-7 season with what you say no 'money', 'crap' stadium, low fan base but yet still get the #1 recruiting class? Weird.

The recruits we get VERY often say I commited because of the tradition and I wanna be the next Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Ray Lewis, etc. We may not have the facilities but we have a GREATER tradition and one thing we do have that you dont, we are FAMILY.

Do the very few NFL stars from florida come back to help with coaching in the offseason? When a player from florida passes away, would your university have the huge amount of outcry and support? We are FAMILY.

And to say we will NEVER win another National Title is crazy, not with the talent down here, and all you ppl go by is Randys one season as head coach. I predict another National Title within 5 years as a matter of fact.

And YOUR program is on the downward spiral, a National Championship then a 9-4 season? We have no where to go but up.

Here is a link to the #1 recruiting class:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/columns/story?id=3233826

I do not know anything about Meyer nor do I want to know anything about him. Randy's has had ONE YEAR dude!!!!!!!!!

Look you like your coach but you guys loved Ron Zook once upon a time, you guys loved Steve Spurier once upon a time.

I like Randy he is starting from scratch just as Butch did and we will be alright. Look I do not want to see UF's facilities. I want kids who are not so superficial and know that hard work makes a great football player and not fancy facilities.

Sorry dude Like I said it is all about the "U" and will continue to be about the "U". I will touch base with you in a couple of years and we will see which team is irrelavent.

Go Canes!!!

Posted by: Duhhhhh Yew | September 01, 2008 at 02:10 PM

And by the way if the canes are so irrelevant and you the gators are going to kill us, then what the he!! are you bothering to talk to us low lifes? Nothing to be heard here because you have the BEST TEAM. Be confident and go talk crap with your gator friends.

Well guys its obvious to gaytor fans money brings championships. Yea that almighty dollar!

You dont pick a school cause of there logo, but you pick a school that prepares you for the next level.

Open your ears, listen to what recruits say about THE U.

they talk about the championships, the talk about being prepared for the nfl, they talk about academics, they talk about how its family, they talk aobut when the go to work out in those shatty facilites: who they work out with

You have the balls to say something about that 2001 team, you f*cking moron?

They played @#15 FSU, @#21 BC, #14 Syracuse, #19 Washington, @#18 VTech, and #8 Nebraska. How is that a joke of a schedule.

They dismantled FSU 43-21, Syracuse 59-0, Washington 65-7, and Nebraska 37-14.

Those are scores that you beat Division I-AA teams by and they did it to ranked opponents, you dumb f*ck.
You losers will never come close to Miami's legacy or titles.
Try beating us in something before opening your mouth. We have more titles than you, we produce more players in the NFL than you, we produce better players in the NFL than you, and we own the series over you. Get off our d*ck.

not once do you hear recruits say
-miami has no money im not going there
-miami plays in the ACC im not going there
-miami doesnt have their own stadium im not going

your points are garbage

THANK YOU! AMEN to that!

But I know his reply already, "They didnt play any SEC teams, so it doesnt count". lol

I just wanna know what UF has done as a football program that Miami hasn't. And dont bring up attendance, stadium, basketball championship or any of that irrelevent nonsense. Please name just one or maybe two because I could name about 5 things Miami has accompished as a football program that UF has not.

ITS FACTUAL, ALL AROUND WE ARE A GREATER FOOTBALL PROGRAM, GET IT OUT OF YOUR THICK HEADS!

This year is your BEST chance ever of beating us, if you dont GOD help you!

orange,

You wont ever understand. Facilities are a very big deal to a lot of kids. Schools wouldnt invest in them if nobody cared.

Correction on the bottom though:

You DID compete with us. You did used to beat us, although a 3-game margin is hardly a domination or anything. You WERE more successful than us.

I am trying to explain that times are changing, and this weekend will be an example of that.

UM has not been more successful than UF at any major money sport since 2003 or so.

UM missed out on a bowl game last year and a lot of money. UF was winning national titles in football and basketball.

On what planet are you currently more successful than us? Because of some titles 2 decades ago?

You're living in a dream world and you do not see the big picture.

Miami can not compete with UF anymore in football or basketball regardless of what a few head to head contests or titles from 1985 may say. And it is only getting worse.

The gap is widening with every upgrade, every expansion, every top 3 class, every TV deal.

UM is going down in a big way.

Let me break it down to you like this:

FORGET THAT EITHER program existed as of 2006.

Both programs were just born. Record is 0-0.

Forget head to head stuff. UF won national titles in football and basketball. Brought in a ton of money. Woke a sleeping giant. Did a major stadium renovation. Did a major strength and conditioning and facilities renovation. Inked a 2billion TV deal for the SEC that will bring an additional 4 million annually. Changed and tweaked some of their logos which has resulted in major dollars coming in from new merchandise and national title merchandise. Tim Tebow won a Heisman trophy which has resulted in a ton of things and exposure for the university. Has played in a New Year's Day bowl or greater every time which has given major exposure and money from the bowls. 48 straight sellouts at UF home games or something ridiculous at 90,000+ per game.

Miami? Major coaching switch. Lots of bad blood left over. On field brawl with FIU nationally televised as highlights. Missed a bowl game. No money, no exposure. Shut down Orange Bowl in embarrassing 48-0 defeat. Dont have their own stadium anymore. Paying to lease Dolphin Stadium. Can't sell out games. Upper level is empty. Basketball team blows. No major money coming in from attendance, TV deals, bowl games, etc. Team quit on coach last year. Players are being killed at their dorm rooms sadly. One good recruiting class stemming from the hype surrounding a new coach. New coach in his 1st year puts together one of the worst seasons in UM history, not only losing to rivals at home, but losing to unranked teams. Big win over 1-AA Charleston Southern to start 2008 season.

Have fun with your 5 titles from the 80s.

UM has not been more successful than UF at any major money sport since 2003 or so.

Baseball we have 4 championship? how many you got

Miami can not compete with UF anymore in football or basketball

Basketball? Forget about your titles like you are saying about football. Come play us in basketball. We are preseason top 10, where you?

While we were playing in NCAA tourny last year. Where where you??? playing in the NIT

Major coaching switch? how many coaching changes had UF football had over the last 10 years? 3!!

Now how many has UM had? 3!

Major coaching shift my arse. Great point there

All your comments are about money. What does money have to with anything? great your alumni is 10 times bigger then us. What is your point?

Money doesnt win championships. Money doesnt win college football games.

Ok we ve been down for 3 - 4 years so what? Whats your point? Want me to get the stats from when your program was down?

Hey orange did you know we had five titles in the 80's? Wow Mr. Fact finder!

We were on probation 10 years ago, and won a national championship 3 years later.

USC was garbage 10 years ago, now the are on top of college football. Being down 3-4 years do not mean a thing. All teams have bad years

OH I FORGOT we dont have many and a large alumni, we suck

Hey orange did you know we had five titles in the 80's? Wow Mr. Fact finder!

Posted by: canechic | September 01, 2008 at 02:47 PM

I didnt even knew the hurricanes had a football team in the 80s, thats news to me

orange

you'll never understand. The fact that you are listing baseball titles is hilarious. Baseball is not a money sport.

If you want to start counting baseball, why do you stop there? UFs volleyball, swimming and diving, etc have won more titles than UM can dream of.

UF was 3rd in schools in the country with most Olympians in Beijing and most medals.

None of that really helps UF expand, grow and move towards the next decade.

UM is going down, and all you can do as a comeback is continue to live in the past - listing off titles from the 1980s. Because your baseball team hasnt won any titles since joining a conference either. I really find that to be a coincidence.

Orange, tell me something promising about the past 1-3 years of UM athletics that makes me believe that UM will be a great team in the future?

NOTHING.

They are moving backwards, and you cant see it and you and your pathetic fan base will continue to reference Gino Toretta and Bernie Kosar and Ray Lewis until the day you die because those are the last titles you will ever have.

Ever since joining a conference, your football, baseball and whoever else havent even played in a championship game for a title.

Our basketball team would beat the brakes of yours.

Keep saying 'titles from the 80's'=ignorance at its finest. Title in 2001, in the championship game in 2002.

Ding ding ding, Congrats Duhhhhh Yew, you being a gaytor fan that wishes tebow would circumsize him, have now spent 3+ hours on a Canes forum!

Congrats you win a trip to the playboy mansion in which you too would pass up, along with your beloved qb.

Orange, tell me something promising about the past 1-3 years of UM athletics that makes me believe that UM will be a great team in the future?

Well lets see.

Made NCAA tournament last year unlike some other school up north.

WE won the diving national championship this year

We were number in the country for most of the year in baseball.

We had the number recruiting class in the nation

They are moving backwards, and you cant see it and you and your pathetic fan base will continue to reference Gino Toretta and Bernie Kosar and Ray Lewis until the day you die because those are the last titles you will ever have.

Why you keep bringing these players up? You must want to be a successful as them i guess.

Not once ive i said anything about them or even brought them up.

Oh I see the only sports that matter are the money sports, yes money sports! Baseball does not draw fans and the fact that pretty much every canes baseball game is sold out means squat.

Duhhhhh Yew | September 01, 2008 at 02:51 PM
What year did you graduate from UF?

Again the only titles we won were in the 80's?

No gale force winds will be coming through Gainesville this year. End of story.

Gotta love all the little gator bit ches on the U blog. Pathetic! Though honestly, I would expect nothing more from a gator. But, a trojan on here... come on, seriously, I had a little more respect for you guys.

The funniest part is that you honestly believe the U will not return to its usual place at the top of the rankings. The U is in the middle of one of, if not the most fertile recruiting bases in the country. The U has won 'ships recruiting against Bowden (in his prime) and Spurrier at the same time! You think a senile Bowden and weasel-boy Urban Liar will be a problem? Shannon has already more than proven his worth as a recruiter in his first full year. Wake up people, the storm is already gaining strength. Or better yet... don't.

Hey Duhhhhh Yew, you ignorant nimcompoop. Do me a favor, put your hand up and see if you can count how many fingers you have.

Your guys may have the better team, but one thing they don't have now and never will is character and class.

And clean your fingernails once in a while while you're at it too.

Loser.

what does having 4,000 fans at a baseball game at $7 a ticket do for your school? Nothing but pay Jim Morris' salary.

What does 90,000 at $15/ticket do? A lot more.

Whether UM won a diving championship and made some once per decade appearance in march madness does nothing to show that UM will be successful moving forward.

The recruiting class does. Nice job you get a C. Like most Canes students.

I am willing to argue that recruiting class was the result of a new coaches hype and promises of change, moreso than a stable annual theme like Meyer has done of three top 3 classes in a row.

A lot of coaches that are new get top recruting classes in their first year or two.

Duh,

Your basing all your things on 3 years, the 3 years we've be down. Good job.

What is the mascot for Santa Fe by the way?

A lot of coaches that are new get top recruting classes in their first year or two.

Posted by: Duhhhhh Yew | September 01, 2008 at 03:03 PM

Where you get that stat from?? Recruiting Stats 101 class??

Actually most coaches struggle gettin good recruiting class there first couple of years cuase they have to build their relationships up

Miami will be zephyrs not hurricanes in Gainesville. End of story.

Whether UM won a diving championship and made some once per decade appearance in march madness does nothing to show that UM will be successful moving forward.

Made once per decade. Wrong again.

Talking about once per decade...thats your prime example of UF football playing in a championship game, better yet winning a championship.

You asked me what UM athletics has done the last 1-3 years and i listed them.

8-4 football team coming of a NC. talking about going backwards

The recruiting class does. Nice job you get a C. Like most Canes students

Now you are just being jerk! take a looksy at the "U's" academic achievements:

http://www6.miami.edu/UMH/CDA/UMH_Main/1,1770,2472-1;2543-2;12696-3,00.html

I am sure that is much better to have a loser Baseball team like the gators! I do not even know why we collect money for the baseball game they should just be free!!!!

Miami will be zephyrs not hurricanes in Gainesville. End of story.

OH THAT A REAL GOOD. came up with that one by yourself??

Who said Miami is in a conferece now? Get real! They are in the ACC for crying out loud. Do we need to recite the scores of NC State, Clemson, Va Tech, etc., etc. But, hey, Maryland did blow out Delaware--by an entire TD.
