Rainy Monday

StormyThis is George Richards reporting on the Canes today, filling in for Susan Miller Degnan and Manny Navarro. They'll be back on the beat come Tuesday -- unless they float away.

The Hurricanes practiced through the rain, the sleet and the snow on Monday.

OK, so there wasn't any sleet, but it was pretty nasty out in Coral Gables today. Took me over an hour to make the drive to campus this morning from my place in Sunrise, but most of the guys seemed to enjoy the break from the oppressive heat as the rain and heavy cloud cover did make things much cooler than is the norm.

Not much news to tell you, Randy keeping things short.

-- Safety Anthony Reddick and linebacker Romeo Davis didn’t practice Monday. Freshman receiver Travis Benjamin left practice early because “of soreness,’’ Shannon said.

-- The Hurricanes will hold a closed scrimmage Tuesday.  “There will be a little more special teams involved in it,’’ Shannon said. “We’ll do some more situational stuff.’’

-- Shannon said defensive end Eric Moncur (sports hernia surgery) continues to work on the side, but has been “getting reps during walk-throughs.’’

Thanks Manny

instead of slamming someone who is actually trying to contibute to the conversation, and show some appritiation to the people who do the reporting. Why don't you try to actually contibute yourself instead of copying and pasting other people's thoughts
and giving them two word critiques on them you think are witty.

Hey Manny, how about "SST", for Travis B.? SST was the acronym used for Supersonic Travel back in the 70's-80's.

How about no?

"Not much news to tell you"... Manny, It doesn't surprise me....

Randy would rather nobody know anything about us and just show up and surprise everyone.

Thoughts on practice and mistakes...
With so many new bloods and even 2nd year vets, mistakes are expected but he doesn't want to expose them to the media and then the Internet world of football.

IMO... Mistakes, dropped balls, INT's, missed blocking assignments are good for growth and it's best now, to learn by and I want to hear all of the negative in realizing that somebody on Defense is creating the pressure and forcing a fumble or an INT... Were there is a negative there is a positive and when a receiver makes a cut up the middle for a TD.. it not only shows the receivers strength, it also shows signs of needed improvement in the secondary... I can go on but learning your weakness is just as important and learning your greatness, to grow better!

POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK?

and on a second note...
I truly think that good as our offense will be this year, they are still growing and stretching to learn their capacity and it is up to Young to rapidly teach the defense how to control a game with tenacity and the will to dominate...

Time will tell but each game brings experience and by The VT game, we should see our boyz really kick'nAZZ on both sides of the ball.

Yo.......yeah i remember when randy surprised the heck out of virginia last year and we scored no points....it was amazing

108th best O last year. This year? MAYBE top 75.

It's statements like the ones you made above that make it so obvious that you are clueless. You should just stop posting all together. You're a MORON.

"Yo.......yeah i remember when randy surprised the heck out of virginia last year and we scored no points....it was amazing"

That's just good comedy.
