A great QB can make all the difference

Say what you want about what's gone wrong at the University of Miami over the last five years. Point to all the excuses you like to explain why this program plummeted from national championship contender and BCS regular to the MicronPC Bowl and 5-7 record last year. You can say its recruiting that Larry Coker and his staff dropped the ball. You can say it was the development of talent, that nobody on this staff did a good enough job figuring out guys like Devin Hester, Jon Beason and Kenny Phillips were really that good. Me? I point to one position: Quarterback.

Saturday was proof positive of that in my eyes. How else can you explain how Miami is 6-3 right now? How else do you explain a team that made countless bonehead penalties and struggled to move the ball for three quarters, suddenly rallied from a 17-10 deficit to win 24-17 in overtime against a team it lost to 48-0 a year ago?

Jacory_harris2_2Jacory Harris is that special quarterback. He's the game-changer this program has sorely needed since Ken Dorsey walked out the door with the final piece of quarterback lineage at Quarterback U. Jacory, though, has brought it back. Think back for a second how many games this program has lost over the past few years because they didn't have that leader behind center, or in some cases couldn't even compete because the Kyle Wrights and Kirby Freemans of the world couldn't even do the little things like get the ball in the hands of the playmakers.

Yes, it's true Miami failed in recruiting. Yes, it's true Miami didn't do a good enough job developing the stars that were here the last few years. But the truth is they missed having a general to lead the offense more than anything. When this program won national championships, it had some of the best collective talent in the country. But it also had one common denominator -- that special quarterback behind center. Canes fans ought to feel lucky they have two. Because although Robert Marve was on the sidelines for two of Harris' magical comebacks (Duke and this one), it was Marve who engineered the magic a week ago against Wake Forest. This program still has a long way to go to start thinking about a sixth ring. Offensive line and the secondary are the two biggest holes I see. But the good news is the biggest piece is in place. And right now, there are two to choose from.

> Saturday's game was without question the most exciting and meaningful win for this program since it beat Virginia Tech on the road a few years back. Miami can now win-out and hope North Carolina drops a game and reach the ACC Championship game in Tampa. Before the season, I predicted UM would finish 7-5 -- or 9-3 if everything panned out. As long as the injury to Jason Fox isn't as serious as it looked on TV Saturday, then the latter is quite possible now.

> I know folks are going to jump all over Graig Cooper for his fumble. But he was the second most important weapon in UM's game-tying drive Satruday. Cooper finished with over 100 yards rushing and picked up valuable first downs with long runs. With Javarris James out, Coop truly stepped up his game in the second half and delivered.

> Hats off to defensive coordinator Bill Young for once again proving he knows what to do at halftime. This was Miami's third consecutive come-from-behind win. It wouldn't have been possible if Young didn't at least figure out a way to slow down Cedric Peerman, who had 10 carries and 66 yards at the half. Yes, Miami gave up some yards through the air and caught a few breaks with a pair of missed field goals. But the Canes defense came up with big plays when it needed to. They didn't break.

> I'll have my report card for you sometime Sunday night. Enjoy the NFL weekend for now. And when you get a chance look at the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. Ask them what its like to not have Tony Romo or Tom Brady behind center.

Great job to Shannon and the young Canes on pulling out a win and staying mentally tough in the game saturday. I do agree with the earlier blogger that Marve does have the bigger upside though. Most of his incompletions are just flat out drops by the wideouts. It isn't that Marve lacks brains his receivers just need to catch the ball more consistantly. I'm sure that Jacory's passes are easier to catch because they do not have the heat on them that Roberts do. Also what is the deal with the offensive playcalling when Robert's in there? The only time I have seen the same plays called for him as Jacory was on the last drive against UNC and we saw how good Marve can be when we run that uptempo offense. And I know the game ended in a pick but that was a situation that our wideout has to bring the ball in. In any event great job yesterday Jacory, Laron, Aldarius and the defense on taking care of business in a game we had to have.

Max and Cav,

canesinmyveins/bobjohnson is really CokeCanes/canesrule/13-1 lift the trophy/Kehoe left a Steamer/rawpimple, etc.

Instead of coming on the blog and telling us he's a Gaytor, and we suck, he comes on and claims to be a disgruntled cane fan, and we suck! The dude is the biggest loser on the web!

The guy would rather predict our demise, rather than enjoy his own teams victory! He posts 10-1 on our blog vs his own teams blog (Gaytor Clause)! It's a joke! The alumni on his teams blog hate him! The loser has to post under several alias' in order for the Gaytor fans to even talk to him!

Cokecanes/canesrule = small pp

TIME TO BUY A CORVETTE

Go 'canes!

Bosher squibbed the kick to "run out the clock" that was RS's call and it was stooooopid! Shows the quality of "coaching"

I think its time to let jacorry start games, and see how he does. Flip the tables, sort of speak.

The first half: an undisciplined, poorly coached penalty prone team.
The 2nd half- problem corrected. Started Cane-balling again.

All you sec beeotc6hes: ACC vs SEC this year 3-3

SEC has 4 teams w/ losing records. ACC: 1

Georgia is grossly overrated and has been for 2 years. Uf is good, but ga is not.
Neither is LSU, and neither is alabama.

Lets play reincarnation....
at this present time.
Jacory Harris- Currently a Dorsey with wheels. Accurate, great touch, and smart.

Robert Marve- A Brett Favre Cannon and gunslinging mentality with Kyle Wright decision making & accuracy and Kirby Freeman wheels.

18 + 19 years old respectively...

On potential..

Marve has more potential Than Jacory. He is faster and has the better arm. DOES ANY1 DISAGREE?

However, Jacory will likely me a more productive COLLEGE athlete. His smarts are unprecedented for a TRUE FRESHMAN.

WHO WAS THE THAT QB FROM OKLAHOMA THAT WON THE HIESMAN BUT DIDN'T GET DRAFTED A FEW YEARS BACK?

THAT COULD BE JACORY, IF HE DOESN'T GET HIS WIEGHT UP!!!

THIS ALL BOILS DOWN TO BOTH QB'S BEING ELITE AT ONE POINT. BUT WHAT IS BEST FOR THE MIAMI HURRICANES AND FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL PLAYER IS SPLITTING TIME THIS YEAR. &

JACORY REDSHIRTING NEXT YEAR... HE CAN'T MAKE ALL THE THROWS AND THAT WILL HURT THE U WHEN IT COMES CHAMPIONSHIP TIME. GET IN THE WIEGHT ROOM AND GET CLOSE TO 200LBS.. &

MARVE NEEDS TO LIVE IN THE FILM ROOM. I DON'T THINK HE UNDERSTANDS DEFENSE'S AT THIS POINT..

AS MY PEOPLE SAY THEY STILL JITS. WHEN THEY COME INTO THEIR OWN GAME OVER FOR THE NON HURRICANES.

CAN ANYONE ON THIS BLOG ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT FOOTBALL???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

any1 got something to say???

u fans,

I hate to rain on your parade, but here are some disturbing facts.

The u barely beat UCF and had to mount comebacks to win vs Duke, Wake Forest and Virginia.

Here are the "great" teams the u have defeated and their records.

Charleston Southern 4-5
Texas A&M 4-5
UCF 2-5
Duke 4-4
Wake Forest 5-3
Virginia 5-4

That is a combine 24-26 with a 0.480 winning percentage. Not very impressive at all.

Good luck vs Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and NC State, the Gators need the u to win those games to help us go to the BCS Championship game. If you do not believe me, ask Manny The Homer.

I know what you guys are thinking, so let me help you. Florida's strength of schedule is number 10 in the Nation.

All of you, stop and smell the roses.

We have a 4 game winning streak. If we had gotten a couple of breaks, we could be 8 and 1.

I know all of you Canes bashers will jump on me, but we are turning the corner. Just read the ESPN blogs. Heather Dinch says that we are ahead of schedule. I watched the game ESPN 360 and the announcers were quite reverential in their tone when speaking about Miami. And we already have more wins in 9 games than last year in 12.

Are we back in the form of 2001? NO. Are we on our way back? Oh, HELL YES.

If we win 8 games this year (we have NC State on the schedule), we have the chance to leverage that success with a killer recruiting class. Then next year we shoot for 9 or 10 wins. We are chasing the National Title again by 2010.

Be patient everyone - it took Granpa Coker 6 years to run down the program, give Randy at least 4 to build it back up.

I forgot to mention that I love me some Randy Shannon...

Herbal Minded,

Are you smoking your mind?

Is Herbal equal to Mari Juana?

You got to be kidding?

The u's QBs are above average at best, just the same as their head coach.

A columnist, you are not!

BigDaddyCane,

Remember, in 2010 the u is playing the Gators (one loss for the u) which are not rebuilding and will be a great team when they play a home game away from home in Miami.

And as bad as I dislike them, FSU is ahead of your so called schedule.

Randy "Cry Baby" Shannon will be exactly what Ron Zook was to the Gators, a great recruiter but an average head coach.

jaime,

You should look at the bottom line when comparing the SEC to the ACC.

SEC has 4 teams in the top 15 and 2 of those are Alabama #1 and Florida #4.

And in case you've been in outer space, the last two BCS National Champions are from the SEC, Florida and LSU.

Both Jacory and Marve are great lets not discredit either one them. Jacory won this one along with the Duke and if it wasn't for drop passes against FSU and UNC Marve would have won those games. And this was Shannon plan all along. Both qb's will win us games. Why can't we use two qb's its not like one iss practicing with the 1st team and the other with the 2nd team, both are working with the 1st team and both get strong responses from fellow teammates.

Lets not get to saying Marve is more pro ready and Jacory is just a college phenom and nothing more. That isn't true. I think both with progression can be good pro qb's as well as college phenom. Yes Marve has the stronger arm and is faster than Jacory but lets be honest its not by that much Marve may run a 4.5 and Jacory 4.6. Both have tremendous upsides. I think Marve will be great, but Jacory will be better of the two because of Marve. Marve didnt have anyone to look up to, but Jacory does and its Marve. Jacory knows he is the future and he is learning from Marve mistakes. Marve will be great and so will Jacory. My question is why mess with success. They said the spread offense couldn't work now everyone is using it. Shannon knows what he is doing and each week he is proving all the doubters wrong. Quit complaining about the coaches, so many of you praise Meyer why didnt any of you complained about the play calling against ole miss.

Max and Cav,

You f***ing cane fans call us Gaytors, but I am certain that Max and Cav are a gay marriage in denial.

Dumb move Aholes.

TXCane,

Yeah, the BCS Poll is out and your 4 ACC teams are ranked behind the 4 SEC teams.

SEC
#1 Alabama
#5 Florida
#13 Georgia
#16 LSU

ACC
#19 North Carolina (beat the little u)
#20 Georgia Tech
#22 Florida State (beat the little u and soon will be defeated by the real U)
#23 Maryland

You should brag about the BCS rankings when your team is capable of beating teams appearing in the BCS Poll.

Cane fans,

It's been a pleasure to dismantle your silly comments.

The media does not care about the u and its followers are bandwagon fans because most of u never attended the University of Miami. Unbelievable!

By the way, a Gator is a fear animal while an Ibis is just what it is... a bird.

UFGator, first of all you don't need to attend the school to be a fan, after all, where do u think schools get their budget from??? regular people who pays taxes, just like our AD, ur AD hopes they sell game tickets and apparels to anyone who is a fan, and not just students, and second of all, you talk about people making silly comments as if urs isn't??? it's a football blog, not a mascot blog, what does gators being fierce got to do with anything, especially comparing it to an ibis, people know the kind of species they are, but in football it is all symbols and logo, that is all, if u are in 3rd grade, then go right ahead, compare your animals that's ur business!

and by the way, before you brag about UF, here's a lil smart fact, UM and FSU, holds the all-time winning record over ur mighty gators! so much for ur team being so mighty! after spurrier and before urban meyer, you were digging urselves ur own grave!!! so bragging so much about ur winning years will only be temporary, when ur boy tebow and harvin are gone, ur back to ur old losing ways!!!!!

jr.h2,

what do u know that i don't? Are both QB'S getting the same amount of snaps in practice? U make valid points, but i'm not discrediting either; i'm stating the obvious from a coaching standpoint. HARRIS can't make all the throws right now. But he will with some Quizno's and weight work.

I have no doubt that if Marve learns how to read a defense and touch to his pass he will be one in a million..

IT IS MUCH HARDER TO GAIN ARM STRENGTH THEN TO LEARN HOW TO READ A DEFENSE..

BOTH WILL BE GREAT... & LETS CONTINUE THE DUAL QB SYSTEM TILL MR. Jacory's redshirt year... next year..

GO CANES!!!

100,
Mr. HM

TO THE UF FAGGGGG BLOGGERS U R NOW PREEMINENTLY IGNORED...

IN SHANNON I TRUST... IN YOUNG I TRUST... NIX.. sometimes..

But who will be a better QB? Only time will tell. BUT Its time to set fire to the transfer BULL$HIT.. Both should and will stay!!!

ORANGE AND GREEN!!

Randy is fully vindicated for going with two qbs: now we have two experienced sophomores competing in the spring, and with the class of 2009 that Randy is hauling in, dare I say it, will compete with the national championship next year, and even the ACC championship is 2008.
Urban likcs Teebow's balls while watching video of Mr. Two Bits.

The above comment is why you should stick to making really krappy rap videos that are unwatchable. Don't try to sound intelligent when U R NOT !

AP voter Jon Wilner
Yes, they have a loss to Ole Miss, but Florida has beaten four bowl-eligible teams (Miami, Kentucky, LSU and Georgia) by a combined 150 points.
Put it this way: The Gators have beaten twice as many bowl-eligible teams as Texas Tech has played.
To me, Florida has the best resume in the country, with so many quality wins relative to everyone else
that it offsets the home loss to Ole Miss (which is 5-4 by the way) and merits a ranking above the three undefeated teams, plus Oklahoma, Texas,, Oklahoma State and USC.

Put it this way II: Undefeated Alabama, Penn State and Texas Tech have combined for five wins over bowl-eligible teams, just one more than Florida has by itself.

1. Florida (7-1)
Last week: 8
Result: Beat Georgia 49-10
Current AP rank: 4
Next up: at Vanderbilt
Comment: For those dissing Ole Miss, consider: Its four losses have been by a total of 19 points, all to teams with winning records. (That includes a four-point loss AT Alabama.)

One team, one unit, one concept................
This is the formula for winning success. I predicted the last for wins inspite of hater negativity. This young have jelled at the right time and for sure are bowl bound. I never really saw Jacory in action, but i wasn't surpirsed by Mr.305 and throwing that ball at the "U". Last week, I said Jacory to stay in school, graduate with your degree and all the honors and awards will fall in place. There will be no transferring. You have a place in UM history as another great black QB. Records will fall, but its too early to tell. Kudos to every player on that UM squad. You came in knowing you were all good, but had to put your personal egos aside. As one unit, you play to win and everyone contributes in a small way. Great game guys, the UM swagger is back and win the game is over aim that "U" at the score board. I will also predict the next win against VA Tech. We will beat the state of Virginia this year. Coach Shannon, let's study the film, evaluate are mistakes and let's get ready for the next win. Let's go Canes! Ice Daddy on the mic

My take on the UVa game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAT5zDPEGDY

It cracks me up to see all U gayturds come out the woodworks to talk trash NOW after spending most of this decade licking the soles of UM and Fsu's Nike's. Before '06 U were posting fire R. Zook blogs and burning crosses in front of Chris Leak's crib. Fast foward a couple years later now U talk isht like U R the best thing since sliced bread. U haven't won anything yet. Yeah U may be blowing out the teams in that overrated confrence, but bare in mind your lowest point total of the season came against UM, arguably the youngest team in the country! We don't have to keep telling U whats coming cause U already know! After Teabow (whom draft experts say won't even be a first day pick) and Harvin leave YOU WILL go back to being what you have always been: UM AND FSU BOOTLICKERS! VAULT IT!

Ice Daddy...
Just for you... Jacory and the WNern Bulls Playing in the Championship game...

Jacory 12
AJ 2
Tommy Streeter 5
Kendal Thompkins 1
Brandon Washington 72

We need to Stay in the Shotgun, against VT and GT...also use P.Hill.

Canester-Nip..

I like your style!

Not taking anything away from Fla as they are a great team but without Teebow, they are a Clemson clone... Good RBs and receivers but no general to direct them.

First off i like to say that I really have no use to talk about the gayturds. After this last game in which we lost i was happy for U. JUST IMAGINE LOSING TO THE SAME TEAM SIX TIMES IN A ROW. aND FINALLY AFTER ALL OF THAT U GAYTURDS FINALLY PULLED ONE OUT. SO CONGRATS ALL U GAYTURD FANS BUT KNOW ONE THING ONE WIN MAKES U. WE OUR LEADING IN THE SERIES WE ARE ALSO WINNING IN NUMBER OF CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WE ARE ALSO WINNING IN NUMBER OF IMPACT PLAYERS IN THE NFL. SO ONE LOST HURT (YES IT DID) BUT KNOWING WE HISTORICALLY BETTER THEN U NO MATTER WHAT TIM TEABAG AND URBAN LIER DO THIS YEAR IS PRICELESS.

Posted by: UFGator1972 | November 03, 2008 at 02:11 AM

HERE GOES ANOTHER CLOWN WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT COLLAGE FOOTBALL. We are the U evident in how many players we put in the NFL compared to ur spread running team whos players can't last more then a year in the NFL. Yes i get it UF invented gatorade so they think they are the smartest people in the world but check this what happens when u IMPLEMENT the spread offense on a team with speed? U retard their growth, which is why i have to see jessie palmer everyday on damn tv( youngest anchor in espn history.) Or jabber gaffeny who since tom brady went down reverted back to his can play in the nfl days.

SO UF GAYTOR, WE ARE THE U

A New name for Jac...

Back in the day... I remember Dorsey, coming into a game down by a few points with only a minute or two left in the game... In comes MR Clutch and it was an automatic 7. Somehow, someway, he would find a way to take the lead... It wasn't always pretty and many times the receivers had to do hat tricks to catch the impossible but they did and he did what had to be done.

Jacory has that calmness found in great leaders and when times are at their blackest moments, he finds ways to make it work... For the guys who have grown up besides him, they know and believe he can do it.

If anything that he has shown, just look at the Duke game and now the Virginia game to prove his worth... He deserves the title... Clutch and maybe MR CLUTCH next year, but for now, Clutch isn't bad!!!

This is not meant to disrespect Marve as he has many great powers, as well, but timing and speed is an issue and it is only a matter of time before he nails it but until then, Clutch is the better choice... IMO

Let's go G-Tech!!!

Beat UNC!!!

Go CANES!!!

Nice rankings. Not as if we didn't know this already.

http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/bradley/entries/2008/08/21/ranking_obnoxious_sec_football.html

Here's another. I would disagree and switch FSU and UF.

Gator train roll this year, but we will certainly be ready for you in 2010.

Posted by: UFGator1972 | November 03, 2008 at 01:46 AM

I can see why you are so bitter, you have been a Gaytor since the late 60's! You have had to watch Miami dominate everything football (Dolphins included) in the Great State of Florida since you graduated!

With a little help from the polls, and a few losses by other teams (again), you should be able to make a run at the title. Enjoy your time in the sun, you earned it! But don't get comfortable, we want it back, soon! (And so does FSU!)

Go 'canes!

TO BE HONEST, BUT NOT TO SOUND PRETENTIOUS. THOSE OF US WHO HAVE FOLLOWED JACORY HAVE COME TO EXPECT EXACTLY, THANK GOD WHAT HE IS ACCOMPLISHING. TWO OF THE BEST PRESSURE GAMES I'VE SEEN ANY HIGH SCHOOL QUARTERBACK PLAY AND COME AWAY WITH A WIN TOOK PLACE LAST YEAR WITH JACORY HARRIS LEADING MIAMI NORTHWESTERN OVER DEERFIELD WITH TWO MINUTES IN THE GAME AND 99 YARDS TO A TOUCHDOWN AND THE GAME WITH SOUTHLAKE CARROL IN DALLAS TEXAS. SOUTHLAKE CARROL HAD A 39 GAME WINNING STREAK AND WHEN THEY SCORED. SEEMED LIKE THE WHOLE STADIUM IN DALLAS TEXAS ROCKED. JACORY MERELY LOOKED OVER AT HIS TEAMMATES AND APPEARED TO SMILE AS HE CAME ON THE FIELD AND HE HE CALMLY THREW A TOUCHDOWN PASS TO HIS REC IEVER TOMMY STREETER. NORTHWESTERN DISPLAYED SOME AMAZING STATISTICS PASSING WITH JACORY HARRIS. FROM MY OBSERVATION VERY FEW TEAMS IF ANY OTHERS IN FLORIDA WOULD HAVE BEATEN SOUTHLAKE CARROL IN Dallas TEXAS. REMEMBER THIS IS THE ON LY PLAYER IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND PROBABLY THE COUNTRY WHO CALLED HIS ON PLAYS FOR TWO YEARS WHICH RESULTED IN TWO UN DEFEATED STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS AND LAST YEAR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. THE UNIQUE THING ABOUT JACORY HARRIS IS THAT DUE TO THE TEAMS NORTHWESTERN USUALLY SCHEDULE. JACORY IS USE TO PLAYING AGAINST TEAMS THAT ARE VERY QUICK AND FAST SO HE HAS LEARNED TO IMPROVISE, ARTICULATE AND INDOCTRINATE HIS OWN UN IQUE FORMAT THAT ENABLES HIM TO REMAIN. COOL. CALM AND COLLECTIVE. THAT'S WHAT USUALLY SEPARATE THE GREAT FROM THE GOOD. HAVE NO DOUBT THIS YOUNG MAN IS THE REAL DEAL AND IF HE IS GIVEN THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THE WINNING TRADITION THAT HE BROUGHT TO NORTHWESTERN WILL CONTINUE AT THE UM. THE BEST THING I ADMIRE ABOUT THIS YOUNG MAN IS THAT HE IS CONFIDENT, BUT YET HUMBLE. JEREMIAH 29:11

what i don't understand is how ppl say marve dosen't get the same play calling wow man if you look at it there has been plenty of times where marve has a chance he is the starter were jacroy has been put in jus to manage the only and let jacory in is when marve is turning the ball over and they are put in a situation where we have to come back i have seen the U receiver's drop the ball but I have seen marve throw ill advised passes look at the tapes and u will see have u seen jacory throw that many only one and the other he threw was of a dline man tipped it but harris should b the started i don't know why randy dosen't see it and to let ppl kno that marve has been there for a full year even though he hasn't played he should kno when to throw the ball away and that nix show signs of a great coordinator but then he does the dumbest play calls out of nowere jus wanted drop some knowledge for the ppl that don't know jacory and the aldarius connection all day babby!!!

Don't Hate:

Check out the poll by your buddy John Wilner.
Voted 2007 Worst AP Pollster and already won worst two weeks in a row this year. I don't think I would quote him if I were you. He has TT behind Texas...guess he didn't see the game.

UFGator1972 is a typical jackazz Gayturd fan

Cat5 Cane,

I try to ignore some of the anti-Gator comments, but yours is ridiculous border line stupid...

You say... "You should brag about the BCS rankings when your team is capable of beating teams appearing in the BCS Poll."

Florida has already beaten Georgia BCS #13 and LSU #16 and both are ranked higher than any ACC team in BCS Poll. The main reason why they are ranked lower than when they played the Gator is that Florida beat them by a combined 100-31.

When you make a comment, please research it first, so that you do not stick your foot in your mouth or up your rear end.

BigCane Fan,

Is the big cane what you use to stimulate yourself with?

Yeah, I am a Gator fan, but more importantly a Gator graduate. I am extremely proud of my University.

Most of you can not afford to go to UM and apparently can't afford to go to its games.

What you, Candy-Cane fans, should do is support your team instead of letting those kids play in a half-empty stadium.

Way to go u fans!

UFGator 1972,

Did it ever occur to you that both Georgia and LSU are overrated, especially LSU? How many BCS teams has LSU beat this year? Georgia also, other than overrated LSU? You s.e.c. supporters can come off that we're the top confrence crap cause those days are just about gone. You can rest assure ESPN wishes that they could turn back the hands of time and take back that big-time deal with the s.e.c. Bottom line...THE S.E.C S.U.X.!

PS, WHY ARE YOU ON A UM BLOG IF YOUR TEAM AND CONFRENCE IS THE ISHYT?!!

be logical!

Listen I guess you forgot that the Gators was the team that beat the crap out of your u in 1983 by a score of 28-3. Oh wait, wasn't that the year the u got the first of its 5 rings?

Not only did we killed you but Nebraska blew it by deciding to go for the win and stay undefeated when all they needed to do was kick the extra point to win the National Title. That is, Candy-Cane, how you got your first ring.

Go back in history, Candy-Cane, and you will see that Florida had very good teams in the 1980s before Steve Spurrier took over in 1990.

logical!,

Your comment that FSU and Miami have winning records vs Florida is incorrect.

The Gators hold a 31-19-2 lead over the Seminoles and trail Miami 26-28. You add them up and it makes the overall record 57-47-2 in favor of the Mighty Gators.

Candy-canes please check before you make comments like i-logical!

UFGaytor1972,

U said it right, first of 5 rings! How many does UF have again? Since we are talking history, lets talk about what happened the last time UF played Nebraska! LOL! The only thing Nebraska blew that night was UF's ass of the field! HAHAHA!

To all of you Candy-canes,

It makes me so happy to see how you bunch of idiots live in the past and dream of the future.

The present says Florida is a great team --probably the most complete team in the Nation-- while Miami is still taking baby steps.

Win the ACC and then begin dreaming about National Championships.

Its been a pleasure talking to all of you Candy-canes. My research paper on dump fanatics is complete, I never expected to get so much help from such a great variety of a-holes.

Canester-Nip,

I could not resist myself!

Are you forgetting that that was the same team that a year later toyed with FSU for the 1996 National Championship Game and both Nebraska and Miami watched on TV.

Canester-Nip, we still beat your ass in 1983 really bad... really bad, dude.

NIP = Non-Impressive Pawn?
