Virginia Tech thoughts

DOLPHINS STADIUM -- Just finished filing my story on Miami's defense and wanted to share some post game thoughts with you.

> For all the attention Miami's freshmen on offense have gotten this season (and they deserve it), Marcus Robinson showed us Thursday night why the Canes got more than just playmakers at receiver in this 2008 Signing Class. He had three sacks, four tackles for loss and a team-high seven tackles in his second career start. Without question, he earned tonight's game-ball with his play.

Marcus_robinson_2But he also sent a message: the Canes have some pretty good young playmakers on defense, too. Defensive tackle Marcus Forston, who also had a sack, Sean Spence, who is on his way to a freshman All-American season, and Brandon Harris are the stars of the class. But if Robinson can turn up the intensity at end, Miami's defense can be a whole lot better the rest of the way this year. God knows they've needed a pass rush. Robinson, by the way, said he got news of the start Wednesday night on the bus ride to the team hotel. He started in front of Adewale Ojomo.

> If I had to give out a game ball on offense, Reggie Youngbloodwould get it. He stepped up big for Jason Fox at left tackle and provided some solid pass blocking despite obviously being less than 100 percent. He said afterward he got a few breaks to rest on the bench, but played more than he had all season. Chris Rutledge, who started opposite him at right tackle, went down in the first quarter and battled back and stayed in the rotation with Matt Pipho. Virginia Tech finished with four sacks. But on a night when UM played without its best lineman, the line held its own. The Canes finished with 123 yards rushing.

> With the win, Miami improved to 13-1 all-time on Thursday night ESPN games. I'm willing to bet they scored a bunch of points with recruits, too. It's been awhile since UM played in a prime time game and won.

> UM coach Randy Shannon said part of the offensive game plan was to get Virginia Tech's defense tired. Shannon said he knew the Hokies only rotated about 13 players and felt like if Miami could hold onto the football in the second half it could prevail. Miami owned time of possession in the second half 18:23 to Virginia Tech's 11:37.

> By the way, here's a link to The Herald's audio slideshow from the game, which I helped narrate.

> And here's the link to the audio interviews from last night's postgame scene.

Canes...

I know, I know... But I agree with Green, just this once, LOL, and believe Jacory deserved more playing time, then two sets of "vanilla" downs given.

Jacory is a player and can strike for 7 in a rattlers heart beat... He should have been given more time in the second half!!!

Maybe it's time, to let them play out the Quarter and hot hand play out the second half.

I'm out...

I don't think Marve has regressed....the receivers dropped a couple of balls that could've been big plays. I think he has demonstrated a lot of maturity by getting rid of the ball quickly and hanging during the sack.

Great job by the defense, they won the game for us.

I won't keep flip-flopping on Nix...I'm reserving my opinion for the end of the year. I think the

A funny thought went thru my head as I was able to reflect on some thoughts from the announcing crew last night.

S Carolina is considered to have the best defense in the sec right now. This is how they gain there respect; not by rolling up 40pts a week in the ole ball coach’s offense. When Georgia plays auburn and the score is 17-13, both teams get credit for the defense and the qb’s get credit for “managing” the offense. The sec in big games usually has low scoring beat’um up grind’um out type of games. Same thing in the big ten, alas penn st at ohio st. both teams are credited with great defenses and patted on the back.

In the ACC however, the offenses are said to be inept and lack playmakers.

When usc beat cal 17-3, the Trojans were credited for their great defense but the lack of offense was not beaten up like a drum.

What other conference has so many teams at 6-3 or 7-2? None. They all have top heavy overrated clubs sitting atop the polls for a bunch of wins against the bottom of their conference; which then gets more props in the power rankings in the computer poll. So tell me: is it truly better for a conference to have 3-4 teams at 8-1 or 9-0? Or is parody from top to bottom better for your conference? I choose the latter and not because this is how the acc has been since we joined; rather because I would like to know that my last place team, nc state, can actually knock off wake forest this week.

Can purdue be expected to compete against ohio st or penn st? NO. Can Iowa St be expected to compete with Texas? NO. So how is that good for your conference?

I think the acc, will show the country during bowl season how good our conference is. I feel that unc, fsu, Miami, v tech, bc, and even g tech will present problems for there competitors in their bowl games.

As for the game last night; with such a big step forward, I just hope that the program did not take a larger step backward. Honestly, how do you think Jacory feels after last night’s game? One series and he took over the ball at the 6 yd line? He threw what could have been a touch down pass that was dropped. Instead, 3 and out, and back to the bench for the night. Frustration after games like that has to make him boil inside. Marve did a good job by not making any mistakes to hurt us. Although his fumble could have. but, he and the coaching staff proved to the nation and his teammates that they do not have the confidence in him to allow him to seal a game, put a game away, or win a game for his team when it matters. Everyone could clearly see that and it just added extra pressure to the defense and we stole one last night. You can not win week to week or year after year with that at qb. We are not the ravens. We deserve better than trent dilfer at qb. Christ, we have a future all conference, maybe all American sitting behind dilfer/marve. In 2 of the past 3 games, when we were behind and we needed to SCORE points, Harris was called on. Marve plays when we have a lead. Harris plays when we are behind. I truly believe if v tech had taken the lead during the 3rd or 4th quarter that Harris would have been thrown to the Wolves and expected to do his voodoo on Tech as he had done to Duke and UVA.

How can this be? How can you have confidence to allow him to win games, but yet he can’t play when we need to hold a lead? That’s the problem with last night’s mentality. We should not have been trying to hold the lead. We should have been trying to increase the lead and put the game away. The play calling on all 3 field goal drives were safe cokeresque calls to protect marve and guarantee your team 3 pts while allowing V Tech to stay in the game. What pressure for a young defense to shoulder. The team knows when jacory is on the field that we can score 6’s rather than 3’s. They all play at a different level with him in there. Except for Kayne. He stinks up the joint no matter who plays qb. Get him off the field please. Back to Jacory. The kid just brings life to an offense that has not had a pulse since brock berlin left. The players and the coaches feel it when he is in there for more than one series. We are The U again on offense when he plays the majority of the reps.

In conclusion, note to coach Shannon: You are turning this program around your way and we are truly grateful as Hurricane fans. If you don’t start to see what we are all seeing with Jacory, it may be too late. Remember, this kid loved his visit to Oregon and he would put up 50pts a week in that system in the Pac 10. This program can not take another 3-4 year step back because you feel as if Robert Marve is owed something. Every other position is up for grabs in practice week in and week out. I can’t see practices, but based on game time performances, the future is Jacory not Robert. Don’t force this kids hand and run him out of town. He is an 18 year old phenom with the “IT” factor to put your name in the mix with former coaching greats at this program. Marve can not and will not bear the same fruits of labor. If both must play the rest of this year in the 2 qb system, then make sure Jacory is the one taking the knee at the end of the game. Things like that do matter to these kids.

NIX IS THE PROBLEM HIS PLAY CALLING IS HORRIBLE. IF SHANNON DOESN'T FIRE NIX AT SEASONS' END SOMETHING IS WRONG.

NIX IS WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS!

the play calling is different depending on who is in the game. the play calling was fine when Jacory scored 35 unasnwered at Duke and when he led the drive at UVA and the OT td.
he calls the game the same way for marve that he did for wright and freeman. when the trust is not there, what would you like him to do? when marve did make a throw, we dropped them. just like last year.

look it, the level of play from our playmakers goes up a notch when jacory is in there. we all know it because we can see the points on the board. this stinks for marve, but it is what it is.

i was very critical of Nix for the past 2 years as well. however, when the play calling is executed, they work. when everyone blocks who they are suppose to; when the backs hit the hole they way they are suppose to; when the receivers run the route they way they are suppose to; the offense works. next year, with j harris at qb, the U will be in the top 10 in the nation in scoring offense. Nix will look like a good coordinator, and life will be great.

If you run your office or place of business, and your employees rae of lesser talent than they should be, your company would fail too. In 2 years when the cubbards are stacked, if Nix is still not scoring points, then get rid of him. Until then, remain patient with thsi rebuilding process and allow randy the time he needs. by the way; we are averaging just under 30pts per game. you should win 85% of your games when averaging that number.

Miami should be ranked somewhere between 19-25 next week. All of you should stop complaining about the stadium and go and support the U nobody liked going to the OB because of the neighborhood, nobody likes going to dolphins stadium because it's too far. No wonder miami gets a bad reputation for being such a poor sports town and it hurts because I live in new england and I hate the Patriots and I get so much heat for being a dolphins fan and a hurricanes fan but I love and rep for My Nation ! Man friday nights you guys down there can pick any High school game you want to go check out, saturday Hurricanes games , and dolphins on sundays but no thats not good enough but I see piss and moan is the sport of the day especially in here.

Nix is just not very experienced as an OC. Can you imagine if we had a top quality OC next year. You can't give up just 14 points and be in a position to lose against average teams. How does this offense even score in practice with that predictable play calling and the insight the D has seeing it every day.

I agree with earlier post, movng out of the OB was HUGE Mistake, so what if it was falling apart...

COMMAND PERFORMANCE

GUYS STOP WITH THE B.S OF PEOPLE NOT SHOWING TO GAMES:

The school has just close to 16,000 students. Unlike UCF with 45,000 FSU & Gators who also have over 35,000. If every Miami student went to the game then yes you have 16,000 seats filled. The school is a VERY small school where the fan base can hang in South beach or go to the Game. It is simply a matter of student size and location. Please drop it. Miami has not had a large selling season in 20 years. Other than a few couple of games a year they do not sell. That has not ever hurt them.

Instead of complaining about fans get on the school for poor marketing outside the Miami area. I live in Orlando and can't even get our paper to write about Miami on a daily basis. One reason is The Sun Sentinel will not get info out to our paper. I dare you to go out to a store and try and find Miami merchandise in Orlando. If you do look around at the Gator and FSU Merchandise. Why has Miami not promoted more on tv? I get brighthouse cable and you will always see a re-run of the Gator & FSU games never Miami.
Guys The school needs to promote this team get with transportation companies and hotels and get package deal. Get on TV Get merchandise out beyond Miami. Lets look at the school and see if they REALLY are marketing this team as they can or should before you complain about fans.

NIX IS HORRIBLE! THERE IS NO DEFENDING HIM. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN POUNDING JAMES IN THERE ALL THOSE TIMES WE HAD THE BALL IN THE RED ZONE AND FAILED. IT WORKED ON OUR 1ST SCORING DRIVE. OH WAIT, IT ACTUALLY WORKED SO NIX HAD TO COME UP WITH SOME STUFF THAT HAD NO CHANCE OF SCORING. WE GOT LUCKY WITH 2 FUMBLES AND OUR INABILITY TO SCORE IN THE RED ZONE. A TOP 25 TEAM WOULD HAVE BEATEN US. I HAVE TO POINT OUT THAT EVANS FUMBLED THE DAMN BALL ON VT'S 1ST TD SCORING DRIVE!! ALWAYS GOTTA BEAT THE REFS AND THE OTHER TEAM IF UR MIAMI!

I was at the game last night, though the stadium seemed half empty, i still give a whole loads of props to the canes fans, it gets loud and rowdy even with just 30-40k people out there, other people don't realize that even with only that amount of fans showing up, we're rated as one of the top fans out there that can be intimidating!!!! if all miami fans should go to the games, imagine how it would be!?!?!!!

oh and also, i gotta mention our boy "SEBASTIAN", that mascot is also a beast, compared to that boring hokie bird, that mascot don't stand a chance!!!! SEBASTIAN sure can get fans on their feet!!!!!

C-A-N-E-S . . CANES!!!!!!

oh and btw, when UM recruits players, it's not like the fanbase is what they sell to them, they sell the pro-style offense/defense they run here that sets them up to the next level, the easy road to the pros, the comradery of current and ex-players, the athletic facility, the chance to play in championships etc., that's really what they sell to the recruits, and that's the main reasons they come here so they don't really care how much fans shows up, if fans shows up, fine, if they don't they don't, then that's fine too, they still play with their hearts out regardless!!!!!

I dare you to go out to a store and try and find Miami merchandise in Orlando. If you do look around at the Gator and FSU Merchandise.

I think the red zone play calling was fine. What I do want to see is JJ lined up at RB not Cooper in the red zone. Cooper is not a red zone back. Sorry Coop.

If you can't make the drive then you are not a die hard Cane fan. That's a week excuse especially when you have people driving down from Ocala, Tampa, etc.

Heck, I'm driving from Tampa to Atlanta next Thursday.

I blame it on the 5-7 to 7-3 record, and lack of die hard fans. Blame it on the fair weather fans. If we are 10-0 then they will come.

Posted by: AZCanesFan | November 14, 2008 at 07:30 AM

And VT is lucky Kayne dropped his long bomb, Travis Benjamin dropping his, Cooper fumbling, and VT's fumble that wasn't even though it was. Evans was losing the ball, but I guess the refs felt there wasn't enough evidnece so they did not reverse the call that he was down cause he wasn't. Sure wish I knew what angles they were looking at because you could see it on TV. The commentators were even saying it was a fumble. Even on my DVR says it was a fumble. lol

Posted by: Cat5 Cane | November 14, 2008 at 08:06 AM

But Jimmy is all about the U. He's coached at plenty of places. He was there for the players he coached. He was not there for THE U. Come on now. U act like he's a Miami graduate.

On finding Miami gear, I live in Houston and the only way I can buy UM stuff is when I go to Miami or online.

Miami is a fair weather town, if you win they will come, if you don't there is too much to do elsewhere.

I had forgotten how bad the OB was until I went to the UVA game last year. I still have great memories from when I went to the U but it's time had come. The only stadium that I went to that compared was the La Tech game in Shreveport.

The stadiums at Tenn, Penn State, Texas A&M, U of Houston (Reliant), and Oklahoma were much nicer. Heck Louisville was a even nicer.

Enough with this Dolphin Stadium crap. It is for the fan that is not interested in the actual game being played there. They are more interested in the jumbo trons, the food, the bathroom, the lounge in the club section, and all that other BS that people do besides watch the game. That stadium flat out sucks for real football fans. The atmosphere is terrible. It doesn't even feel like you're at a game. I miss the Orange Bowl every single game that I attend in that God-forsaken stadium. The people, like green, that are for this crappy stadium, are the ones that you see laying on couches, sipping cocktails, and watching the game on TV in the club lounge. Not real football fans.

But, that's saying a lot more than all these other FAKE Hurricane fans that don't even show up to the freaking games. But when we're in the top-10 and going to BCS bowls they are the biggest Hurricane fans in the world and act like they have been a part of the 30K that come out to every game.

Damn right. See you in Atlanta, buddy.

Why do UM receivers drop so many balls????? How many in-the-hands passes have UM receivers dropped over the last two years? Last night: Kayne, AJ, Benjamin, all dropped gimme passes. So whose fault is it then?

The red zone offense calls were pa-the-tic! Nix- you are on the clock! You have no imagination, no common senses, no vision, and bottemo line, you are clueless. Why did JJ not run at least one of the 6 other attempts inside the ten? Instead, you run that silly qb draw, or you give scat back Coop the ball. Clueless?

Randy- Are you afraid to lose or what? Why didnt you use all of them athletes to try to get the ball form the 25 to the Vt 30 with 37 secs remaining (that's about 5 plays), to try to get 3? You seem scarred!

On Jacorry- patience patience patience: I'll throw it out there again: Carson palmer- Leinart- Booty- Sanchez and Matt Cassel sandwiched in there and NEVER got to start for USC! Guess what he did last night? He threw for 400 yds against the Jets. At Um we had: Portis, Jackson, Davenport, McGahee and Gore. McGahee started: ONE=count it again, ONE year! That's all he needed. And Jacorry's dad- Stop being a sideline whiner. we allknow jacoory is good. SO, if he is that good, he will do what he did against Va and he wont need to prove anything else. Quit your selfish whining. You are making your kid look bad.

Finally, Jim kelly hit it on the nose: Marve has to go through his sequence. he can't always tuck it in so fast. teams will see that immediately-guaranteed GTechs Blitz packages are salivating at the mouth!

Oh, and Zellner dropped a pass also.

One answer on the lack of promotion of the program I figure is that when the program was winning, there was a demand for the U outside of South Florida so merchandise purchases were not a problem and when Miami was winning there was a demand to see them on TV ( and sadly when Miami was being the "Bad Boys" there was a demand to see them as well.) Also with the age of the computer, if diehard canes fans really want things now, you have to really get it from the internet being that the program is down. This is one of the reasons why I hate Notre Dame so much because they can go 0 - 100 and you gan get so much stuff from them, see them every week , and whatever else u want to do with them but thats how it is. MiamiMike my argument with people not showing up to games is not just the students but the community as well (alumni's should be accountable too.)

As far as the OB. We would of had 60,000 plus at the OB.

A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME

I like Dolphin Stadium...its a great facility, you just have to drive out there...its really not that big a deal. Traffic was a little thick yesterday, but not a major deal.

Lay of Pat Nix, he had a couple of really good calls. He can't go out and catch the ball for these guys.

Is there some reason that while at midfield near the end of the first half Shannon decides to sit on the ball to end the half? Jeez, with 30 seconds left at least attempt a pass towards the end zone! Shannon has no cajones at all. Great recruiter, poor coach, and Nix, please don't get me started. Can someone tell Marve to look at more than one receiver? And it would be wonderful if the receivers could catch a ball. This team has great talent, but needs better guidance.

So far, Matt "the Basher" Bosher is man of the year.

Hey green with envy, just go away.

JUST WIN BABY!!!! I have no complaints about what is going on with the coaching. The object is to win and stay off the police blotter. Good Job Shannon.

Winning covers up all preceived coaching problems. So stop whinning and enjoy the wins. We've had seven and many of you did not expect us to win that many.

I'm happy to be a CANE!

here are the main points that these so called cane fans are missing, and they are undisputable:

1. patrix nix is a terrible offensive coordinator, we cannot get to the next level with him.

2. we have had two 'offensive player of the week' for the acc players this year. Jacory Harris, both times. It is criminal that we are going to lose him because Randy Shannon picked Marve to start at the beginning of the year.

3. I have went to the orange bowl many times, as well as dolphin stadium. I watched many games in our championship year and have been front row and center against wake and virginia tech this year. I have also been to several other stadiums in the country. The orange bowl was a wasteland in the middle of a suburb with no parking and nothing after 1978. Dolphin stadium is amazing with great parking and easy highway access to leave the game in minutes. For the people complaining, you are amazingly ignorant and need to quit whining. Last nights game was one of the best atmospheres i have ever been in, period.

4. There is only one better recruiter than randy shannon, and he is in north carolina right now. Leave him be, and again, fire nix now, and his ability to get talent will outweight his lack of understanding of what it takes to be an agressive head coach and win games on the offensive side of the ball. for now.

5. This miami team is not playing as well as they should be on the offensive side. Our defense is nothing short of amazing aside of a few holes in the secondary. The receivers cant catch anything, marve would rather run because he knows he throws to the other team to often. when we lose jacory next year (bank on it) they expect players like a.j. highsmith to fill in for marve when he loses games on his own. dont count on it.

all said and done, this year has gone from amazingly underperforming to the defense learning to save the offenses mistakes. it will win games, but no championship for you. look at how great ken dorsey shockey santana and company were, and even they needed ed reed and antrelle rolle, vilma, etc.

summed up: with jacory, without nix, we contend next year for the acc and championship. other way around, we fight for bowl eligibility.

WOW. I just read somewhere that 'green' is none other than Israel Guitierrez (probably spelled wrong). Message for 'green':

I have not only seen what you have posted but read you in the herald, and have seen you several times on Around the Horn. Its great to see a young man on that show with the fossils (woody paige, anyone? Cowlishaw for the BCS system?) who gets it right in print or on camera 99 percent of the time.
Why 99 and not 100? Because I loved your article yesterday about the hurricanes. And then I read your two fatal words that shocked me so much I had to look and see that you had actually written them:

'hideous ACC'

Seriously? You? Can't be? A slave to the media masses?

I grew up near columbus, ohio. Buckeye country. As a hurricane fan, unfortunately. They're garbage fans. Anyways, we all know that they have been the best team in the big ten and what the sec shows what they do with big ten winners. then you have the pac 10, this year, and its usc, and....usc. in the end not one ranked team other than them and even against teams like cal they are up one score (one score period in the game actually) going into the fourth quarter. theyre only big win this year? umm, you know.

big east? seriously. connecticut? rutgers? lets not go there.

sec? though we all know how we feel about saban, no question he has done good things with that young recruiting class. but even most say they will be found out. florida has become for real, georgia not so much. after that you go south fast, but if you want to put them ahead of the acc, i wont argue with you. but there best team, florida? what if they played the canes now? with jacory at quarterback? and at dolphin stadium? they couldnt handle our defense then, for the most part anyway. but still, ill give you the sec.

big 12: no question. amazing.

even if it isnt you, israel, i question any football fan to show me how 'hideous' the acc is.

if it is you israel, i only have one things to say:

Keep up the almost entirely good work.

You're an idiot and your "undisputable" points couldn't be more wrong.

There is one reason and one reason only that there is poor fan support. The fans in Miami are the worst fans in the country. This is an event town. If it is not a big event, they will not show up, plain and simple. This is not just limited to the Miami Hurricanes. No one cares about the Marlins until they are in the playoffs. Then, the real fans that have been there all year can't get a seat. Same with the Miami Heat. Everybody comes out during playoff time. The Dolphins won 1 game last year and, all of a sudden, they are 5-4 and in 2nd place in their division and they still can't sell out.

Last night's game was one of the best atmospheres you've ever been in? Please tell me you are kidding. 40K fans, spread out in that warehouse of a stadium, watching 2 unranked teams? This is what you're calling one of the best atmospheres you have ever been in? Wow. Just wow. Apparently that was your first football game. Dolphin Stadium sucks. You know nothing.

Several points have been made that deserve comment:
1) On Jacory: Why would he leave? where would he go where there will be as much success and media attention? First of all, he MUST share duties with Marve. Some of the best QBs recently have done that: USC, UF (Leak and tebow). UM did it MANY times in the 80s where a player would sit there for 2, 3 years, biding his time until his time sto start: Kelly did it, Kosar, VT, Walsh, Erikson and Torreta did it.Message to JH and his daddy: THEY ALL PLAYED IN THE NFL!!!!!So quit the selfish whining. We have a two QB system. Randy Shannon- If you hear that attitude fromJacory (which I don't think you do, then its best to take your losses now and let him go). We don't need selfish players at the U.

On the stadium and fan base. While I agree the OB meant tradition and everything "U", and I miss the old girl, Dolphin stdium is definitely an upgrade. No question it would be better if UM brought more people in. 40-50k is unacceptable, but in this economy, and with a small school, its tough. Best case scenario that neither the Board of Trustees nor Donna Shalala are willing toconsider: A 50,000 UM only stadium near campus or on campus. I mean buy the land. Or talk to Coral Gables city managers. I t would be HUGE for the school, the local economy, etc. The popwers that be are just to blind, egotistic and clueless to admit it. UM is busy buying up lame hospitals that in th end are going to lose them money.

On Israel Gutierrez. He is a d---che. A complete mouthy idiot. He has an agenda, and it isnt UM favorable. His articles are poorly written and transparent. "hideous ACC?"" I mean the ACC vs the SEC is 3-3. i could see last year saying that, but newsflash to IG: Its 2008, dumba$$!

On Arthur Brown- Dude, you have to get better to start at the U. Work hard and youll get there! Check out Sam Shields, a stud WR who runs a 4-3. he has accepted his limited role, and playing on special teams. HE is a team baller!

On TV airplay for the canes. Just remember that the top 3 largest TV audiences of ALL TIME for a college football game have included the UM Hurricanes. And I guarantee you that out of 119 D-1 schools, UM is in the top 10-20 in merchandise sold. Message: Everyone loves or loves to hate the U. But they know who we are. that's enough/

Someone, anyone, please answer me this.

Why do I keep reading everyone say that Jacory is better than Marve?

Because 90% of our fans are idiots and know nothing about sports, that's why.

For all the non believer`s in Coach Shannon. The team is maturing and getting better. The QB thing is My only concern two QB`s is good cause the other defense has to plan for the both of them. But let`s start different QB`s let them share starts and make the starter a game time decision.Cause nobody on the other side like a surprise GO CANES !!!

You people seem to have short memories. Don't you remember games at the Orange Bowl where there were 40,000 fans. Even less. Games in the 1990's when the Canes were amazing would still be half empty. You make it seem like the Orange Bowl was sold out every game. The OB sold out once a year (FSU). I'm glad for the move. It's not that far a drive and game are on Saturday so there is no traffic for the Dade fans and easy for Browad fans. Plus, there's something special about the tumbo trons, concession stands, taking a piss w/o standing in 2 inches of water, parking on Pepe's front lawn and having to pay that f*cker $50 to park, etc. etc. The Orange Bowl is done. Get over it. Blame teh City of Miami for letting it fall to crap. The City didn't do crap so the Dolphins left. Even after the Dolphins left, the City didn't put a dime into the stadium. Get over it. Dolphins stadium will rock when it's packed. It was a good crowd on Thursday.

What's your point? There is a huge difference between 40K in the OB and 40K in Dolphin Stadium. If you don't see the difference in the GAME EXPERIENCE between Dolphin Stadium and the Orange Bowl, then you are a retard and deserved to be beaten to death in the street.

It's up to us now.

Yyyyyeeeeesssss!!!!!

Another step on the ladder. This season has been a lot a fun. They are exceeding my expectations.

This freshman class has brought such ability and confidence. It is becoming contagious.

Finally, a special shout-out to Sam Shields. He has been doing a great job on special teams and as receiver. I think its great he didn't go into funk when he was demoted. Instead he has come back with a vengence.

On TV airplay for the canes. Just remember that the top 3 largest TV audiences of ALL TIME for a college football game have included the UM Hurricanes.
