Telemaque, R. Hill out for FSU

Guess there was a reason Jojo Nicholas was listed on the first team at safety after all. The University of Miami released its injury report moments ago and the biggest surprise on the list: Safety Vaughn Telemaque.

Vaughn Telemaque The redshirt freshman, whom coach Randy Shannon compared to Ed Reed last season, is among five players listed out for Monday night's opener at FSU. But he is the only player who was thought to be a starter. The injury is officially listed as an upper extremity (UM won't say exactly what body part it is). But as he was walking off the field Saturday morning after practice I spotted him with an ice pack over his left shoulder.

Also on the injured list: Senior cornerback Ryan Hill (upper extremity), freshman offensive lineman Cory White (lower extremity), defensive end Adewale Ojomo (jaw), linebacker Levi Paalua (upper extremity). All are listed as out.

Defensive end Eric Moncur (lower extremity) is listed as doubtful. I would be shocked if Moncur plays.

> UPDATE: A source at UM said the injuries to Telemaque and Hill happened during Saturday's practice. FYI, Telemaque injured his left shoulder last season when he was hit by big Texas A&M fullback Jorvorskie Lane on a kickoff. He didn't play the rest of the year. I'm pretty sure the ice pack I spotted today was on his left shoulder.

> THE U MOVIE: For those of you looking for a preview of the movie UM alumnus and filmmaker Billy Corben has been working on, here's a link to the ESPN page where a four minute excerpt from the film is available to watch. For Canes diehards, it the four minutes should get you real pumped up for the premier on Dec. 12.

DAMN.....!!!!!

That sucks. We really need VT on Monday Night

what the hellis going on? Are they really still hitting on the saturday before the game? Or was this an existing injury that was already there and shannon decided to keep from everyone.

Manny,

Is that the same shoulder he injured last year?

UH-OH...

Wow these defensive injuries keep mounting... WTF!!! I really hope Jojo is ready man cause he struggled last year. I know FSU doesn't have any All-American receivers this year but they can still play. Damn man, these injuries are a total freaking buzz kill!

I can't lie. This is the kind of shet that makes it hard to pull for Randy. The other day he says the kid is going to start. Today we here he is out. If that's the case he must have just hurt himself. We know Randy has to run his program but don't flat out lie to us. If he was telling the truth then VT must have hurt himself today. STILL A DAMN SHAME EITHER WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A source at UM confirmed the injuries to Hill and Telemaque happened this morning. Telemaque didn't look like he was in a lot of pain when I saw him with the ice pack walking off the field. I didn't see Hill.

But from what I was told both players suffered shoulder injuries as we first suspected.

Thank U for the update on that Manny

Manny thanks for the video clip, I was left smiling from ear to ear. Cote said the other day that some "new ink" needs to written down, I beleive it will be RS's pen that will accomplish that!
RS will have these boyz ready come Monday, GO Canes

FYI, Telemaque injured his left shoulder last season when he was hit by big Texas A&M fullback Jorvorskie Lane on a kickoff. He didn't play the rest of the year. I'm pretty sure the ice pack I spotted today was on his left shoulder.

Well that sucks that its the same shoulder

We cant afford losing anyone back there

Obviously I havent been around practices, but I havent heard much about RayRay being ready to step in if needed

Have you heard or seen anything Manny that would lead you to believe he is even close to being game ready?

T-Mack is soft. Great teeth but softer than butter forgotten in the trunk

Wow Jojo how long have you been waiting to bust out that lame stale joke?

We'll be OK, it's only FSU.

Olson Charles and Bryce Brown looked mighty impressive today. We gotta show out monday fellas

VT was the starter the other day according to Shannon was he not... These injuries on D are NOT good.

We are fuked!

The injuries might be impossible to overcome, as we have not even played one game yet and key guys are dropping like flies

Bryce played against crapola. The boy has talent , but com'on it was WKU. We will not know what he has till a few games against teams that are real.
As far as the U let's just take what we get , support the kid's & relish when they are 4 sure back and the GAYTURD's R crap & can't handle it!!!!!
Personaly I would rather lose to Bowden , than trailer trash crap from Gainsville any day.
The GAYTURDS know what I'm talkin bout.
LET'S GO CANES. THE STORM IS BREWIN AND WILL WILL BE BLOWIN AWAY COMPETION BEFORE LONG.
Dang , I used to think crap came from from Uranis until I went to Gainsville. Then it was clear where it originated from. Oh yeah and the Pig GAYTURD fan that will want to respond to this , I am way over your head in education and football knowledge so don't coment!!!!!!

Why are you all worried about VT being out for FSU? Jo-Jo Nicholas is more experienced, because he played in every game in 2008 and VT didn't.

LOL @ the stud. Did you guys see Bills Young defense today against Georgia, man they looked good. Lets go Canes. Time to prove all the doughters wrong cuz yall know they reaady to talk smack

We are concerned because our secondary only had 2 INT's and I watched to much film on him getting burnt for bug plays. I wanna see hitters out there not reaching, arm tackling, diving for ankles type of players

We are worried because JOJO got beat for too many big plays last season. Man just play Ray Ray so I can fell the spirit of Sean T.

Canes Fan / FAMU ALUM:
Must have went to a Gainsville school for education.
Hey canes look at the illiteracy.
Like I said I have upper education.
U are lower Gainsville education: ie sewer!!
Don't respond , just accept it and and love your half sister and deliverance kids!!!!!!

Manny, you shouldn't run your big smiling face with a column like this.

Don't worry yall VT can't be the end all. I wish he was in too but FSU not legit on they o-line as they say. WE get past FSU GT will be our biggest game. VT look like the same offense all run no pass and OU Jus got a real bad sign if Bradford is out more than 2 weeks.

Bradford won't be ready for Week 4. The stars starting to line up.

OU down, VT will go down,. Come on ya'll since when was MIAMI ever scared to play anybody. We the best man

If Jacory is 1/2 as good as many on this board believe him to be than I'm starting to feel a lot better about the U's chances against Va Tech and Oklahoma. For all the talk about how good an athlete T Taylor is as an athlete, well he sucks as a QB. 8 in the box!
Speaking of the Alabama Q is pretty bad himself.
If Bradford is only at... hmm, 80% then Miami has a chance. Now if only our Dfense has learned how to tackle and stop the run. I guess we'll find that out in a couple of days if Ponder doesn't run for 100 something yds like he did the year before. But, please, please Canes do not come out flat. Please have a pulse in the first half.

Relax on the stars lining up. Look at the teams Miami beat last year. Virginia and Duke lost to Subdivision schools. UCF is barely winning to a terrible team, Wake lost at home to a mediorce Big 12 team.

Lets see them play on Monday before we think we can beat anyone.

Bradford won't be ready for Miami, whether he plays or not. Gresham is out as well, and then throw in the fact that the majority of there O-line is new, makes me believe that our defense has a good chance of shutting them down. OU's defense is a whole another thing though. I hope Jacory can get it done.

With the way things are shaping up, Miami's biggest game is going to be against GT. I'm not worried about FSU because we can still win our division if we lose and meet them in the conference championship. VT is beatable.

ESPN wants UM to open at home against Virginia Tech on Labor Day in 2010

TV GOLD

Hey, "Jacory and Bradford Shoulder Get A Room Together"

You've just enraged the Karma gods with your wishing of an A/C shoulder injury for Jacory. The Karma gods will now have to punish Swollen Melon Head. They will cause a catastrophic ACL/MCL injury to happen to Jump-Pass-Jesus, which will be aggraved by the joint damage caused by years of massive PED/HGH abuse. Florida will lose 4 games and be laughed at as they go back to the previous 100 years form of underachieving.

When it happens, blame yourself.

Science fact: "Growth hormone can also lead to irreversible skeletal changes caused by acromegaly, a condition characterized by enlarged bones in the head, face...."

Look it up trailer trash

ACC is a terrible football conference. 4-6 in opening weekend with one win against a FBS school. Embarassing home games by Duke and Virginia. Maryland was destroyed and VTech has absolutely no passing game.

Despite the loss, Virginia Tech still figures to be the class of the ACC. The defense is blessed with SEC-type speed and athletic ability, and red shirt freshman Ryan Williams looks like a good running back. The key will be the continued development of quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who was just 9-of-20 for 91 yards and was sacked five times. Good news for Taylor is that he's not likely to see a defense as good as Alabama's again this season.

Who was the genius who said the ACC was just as good as the SEC?

I hope Bradford can make it back for week 4. Playing OU without Bradford wouldn't be the same.

I want their best shot.

WTF

Canesjunkie,

Agreed. Remeniscent to me of Miami beating VaTech 41-21 in 2000 w/ a gimpy Mike Vick. But then again with that team Miami had it wouldn't have mattered. FYI I believe the 2000 team that lost the early game to UW (Dorsey's) 1st road start was better than the "greatest team ever" 2001 team.

who cares sec, acc, bs- The genius thatsaid tha acc is as good or better than the sec was me. How? Head to head in 2008- ACC 6 SEC 4. Ok? Right now ACC is 0-2 vs the SEC but games were relatively close. NC ste should have won. Alabama is the number 2 team in the SEC. VT is overrated horribly, and should never have been ranked #7. Why? UM beat them last yr! SO, who knows and who cares.

Similarly, georgia is grossly overrated. Ga Tech is going to kill them this yr. And Clemson will destroy Spurrier's c()ocks this yr. That's 2-2 theoretically. Then, we shall see between UF FSU. Nice job against Ch Souther, boys, YOU DIDNT EVEN COVER THE SPREAD AFTER YOU ARTIFICIALLY DID AGAINST UM LAST YEAR WITH THAT LAST SECOND FIELD GOAL EVEN THOUGH THE GAME WAS OUT OF REACH REGARDLESS (THAT IS WHY NURBAN THE TURBAN IS SUCH A LOW LIFE IN MY BOOK).

UM, with Jacorry at the helm, at home, beat Ch So. 52-6 last year, with 18 freshmen starters!

UF with this #1 team, at home, beat Ch Southern 62-3!

Nice job scheduling Ch SSouthern followed by 0-1 Troy, Jeremy Foley, you weak a$-$ rednck panzy!

Here it is in all of it's glory excuses 6 - 10, out of my predicted 17 excuses, direct from Excuse U of course, as to why we will lose to the ACC has-been Noles. Dare I mention I heard on the radio that Bama, the third best team in the SEC toyed with the two-time ACC "Champs" Hokies. It wasn't even a contest.

#6 John Lovett intends to bring an aggressive game plan, and by agressive I mean he will tell off color gay jokes during the half-time show. At least the 200+ canes fans in attendance will find it entertaining.

#7 Bobby's kung-fu grip pre-game hand shake. Five of our starters will be riding the pine beacuse of it.

#8 The rasslin broken jaw flu is spreading, that's the real reason that Shannon "I can not the truth unless I keep my mouth shut" Shannon has Hill and Telemaque as doubtful.

#9 Jacory Harris has many weapons at his disposal, but unfortunatley Whhaaaaaan-dy has banned cameo gear and guns on DuuuhWhooo's bus that has gotten a lot shorter.

#10 The Tuberville in waiting contract was signed four days ago and it's going to be a distraction all season long.

ACC is a terrible football conference. 4-6 in opening weekend

Who was the genius who said the ACC was just as good as the SEC?

it’s a long season …
a marathon not a sprint …

HUNKER DOWN

I wouldn't want to play OU without Bradford either, but even if he was 100% against us, that O-line is nowhere near as strong as it was last year. I'm just not worried about their offense. Their defense is what concerns me.......

I don't think anyone here said the ACC was better than the SEC, but I don't care either way. The SEC is overrated. It's a two team conference. Don't talk to me about Georgia.

Remember the Karma gods are angry trailer trash gators. Your time is coming.

Cav...

I'm trying to worry about my Canes, not the how the ACC did this week. I care even less about the SEC. I don't even know who these teams/players are...will worry about Taylor when we play VT.

If Jacory is 1/2 as good as many on this board believe him to be than I'm starting to feel a lot better about the U's chances against Va Tech and Oklahoma. For all the talk about how good an athlete T Taylor is as an athlete, well he sucks as a QB. 8 in the box!

Here is the reality check. They are basing Jacory's ability because how he played against Duke and Virginia. Look and see how they did yesterday. I think Richmond and William Mary have great offenses as well.

Good for you gators- beating Ch Soutrhern- MAy as well played Boyd Anderson hs- they would have given you all a better match up. Nice cup cake win. clap clap clap. 90,000 strong to watch a great macth up. yay. good for teimmy steroid head virgine teblow.

next up, 0-1 Troy. Good. Good job. Will prepare you for another excellent home matchup against Tennessee.

Bottom line is, At this time, because of wins-match ups etc, Alabama should be number 1, BYU should be number 2.

At least, LSU, ALABAMA and ga arent afraid to go out of conf. across the continent to play in a nasty env. UW played LSU hard. It wasnt the blow out everyone expected, against a team that has lost 15 straight games! USC will do that next week. UF and the loser Foley are too afraid-

Check out YAhoo article on Cupcake gators

People this is why they play the games all of these comments are completely just that comments. None of us knows what was happening with the team at Saturdays practice so unless we are members of the team lets not prejudge situations.

Football is played not talked about, you can never say how a season will unfold. OSU barely survives Navy, BYU beats OU, If they think BYU hits hard, I am sorry but Miami even has better athletes than that and will be flying around just as hard and even faster in South Florida. Maryland got smoked by Cal and even ND shut someone out, that was hard to believe.

None of the pundits know what is going to happen during the season or who will play well, or what will happen. Do you think anyone saw Bradford getting hurt against BYU?? and them losing?? So lets let the season unfold and support this UM team to the fullest. I am excited to see what happens and how these young men have progressed from last season.

We have quality coaches to help RS and I think having Whipple and Lovette who are proven coaches on board will do wonders and the kids speak very highly of what they have been able to do in their short time there. Players win games not coaches and I expect these players to learn from last year and be that much better this year.

GO Canes...

deliverance kids!!!!!!

Was that suppose to hurt? Please come better than that Mr. Intelligent. I really can care less about your IQ because at the end of the day I dont have to insult others to make myself feel better. Its Canes fans like you that make the Gators look good. What kind of a person uses a name like "the stud" you monstrous looking .... whatever dude

BYU hit hard and didn't miss tackles, something we don't do. kids spoke highly of the last 3 coord. also. Its odvious coaches don't win games look at us.
