I'm down at The Miami Herald today talking with the top high school juniors and seniors in Miami-Dade who came in for our media day.
I got to catchup with Northwestern quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and receiver Eli Rogers, two future Canes. Bridgewater, fresh off his trip to the Elite 11 camp in California, talked about his relationship with Jacory Harris and how he's been working on taking snaps under center. Rogers shared a personal story about how his mother is battling AIDS.

Great interviews Manny!! Any news on Collier?

I know people 3 or 4 times older than Eli and still aren't half the man he is. God bless you young man.

Eli just became my fav recruit in this class. I cannot imagine what this young man is going through. He couldn't have chosen a better school. Randy will help him get through this. My thoughts and most sincere prayers go out to Eli and his family.

I watched three Nike 7-On games over the weekend. Eli and Teddy were without a doubt, the two best players in that venue. Bar none. Better than James Wilder!
Great reports Manny.

We're pretty lucky to get these two wonderful young men. That's what I like about Coach Shannon. He seems like he's very selective in his recruiting style, not just for getting talented players, but for getting players with good character who fit the Miami mode.
God Bless Eli, his Mom, and his family. I look for big things out of Eli. I predict he will end his career at Miami as one of the all-time greats.
Teddy sure looks confident, focused, and should be a great leader for Miami's future. He could play anywhere and excel.

Great interviews, very well done. There is a reason that RS and staff are having virtually no problems with players and players are graduating, there is no room for kids without character.
The team is at the top of their academic game and soon they will be on top on the field as well.
