Canes slip to No. 17 in AP and Coaches poll

The University of Miami dropped to No. 17 in both the USA Today/Coaches Poll and Associated Press polls released Sunday after their 36-24 loss at 2nd-ranked Ohio State.

The Hurricanes (1-1) are now officially carrying the flag for the Atlantic Coast Conference as the only ACC team ranked in either poll. The ACC had a terrible weekend as Virginia Tech lost to the FCS' James Madison, Florida State was blownout at Oklahoma and Georgia Tech lost at Kansas.

UM has a bye this week before heading to Pittsburgh (1-1) for a Thursday night showdown on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

> I'll have some thoughts on Saturday's game Monday after I get a chance to watch it again on my DVR.
