No, Alabama fans aren't calling for Nick Saban's head. There's that National Championship thing he won last year....kind of buys him some credit, no?
Let me know when Randy Shannon has one of those as a head coach.

Michael Irvin says we need more thugs on this team.

I have got to say this,Some of you fans are crazy if you put up with this garbage we call a team. This is not MIAMI ball!Heads have got to roll.Period!Starting with that lollipop kid,we have for president. Then shannon an his boy!I hear miramor is looking for a coach and QB.

You are right, no Bama fans are calling for Saban to be fired...yet!
But, some Florida fans are calling for Urban Meyer's contract be bought out and he be replaced.
Many of you that are calling for Randy's firing are the very same people who were screaming that because of Coker the program would not be in the National Championship conversation for 10 years, if ever! Last year Randy once again had the Canes in the national conversation and by the end of this year he will have them in a BCS Bowl game. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I vividly remember many of the Canes fans screaming that due to Coker the program has been destroyed and it will take at least 10 years to breathe new life into it, if ever!
Jimbo Fisher’s FSU team was mauled, flat-out humiliated by Oklahoma and now he’s the toast of Tallahassee and all of the sports columnists and talking heads. What a difference a week makes. Of course this love affair will last up until the very second Fisher’s team loses its next game.
Some Gator fans think Urban Meyer’s contract should be bought out and a new coach should be brought in after the LSU loss. Oakie-doakie!
Only a week ago everything you read told you that Alabama was by far the best team in college football—unbeatable! The experts opined on the genius of Nick Saban. Now according to the same experts Bama’s weaknesses have been exposed and Saban was out coached by Spurrier.
Les Miles has been called stupid, clueless, incompetent, lucky and other derogatory names by LSU fans and the experts. Yet, ole stupid Les is 6 and 0…undefeated! Will LSU finish the season undefeated? Probably not. And when and if they should lose the pent-up hatred for Miles will come spewing out of the LSU fans like that toxic sludge oozing through the streets of Hungary.
Now several seasons into the turnaround program at UM Randy Shannon must be fired according to the same UM fan base that said the program was probably destroyed forever. If you believe the self appointed experts Shannon can’t coach, motivate or tie his own shoes. Never mind that this guy has turned around the recruiting at UM and has begun to bring in top talent, was in the past named “Assistant Coach of the Year” and led some of the most prolific college football defenses to ever play the college game. Let’s also forget that this man helped create the legend of UM football as a player and coach, the very legend so many—“Canes fans”– point to while typing away on their keyboards demanding Randy be fired from the comfort of their air conditioned homes while drinking a beer and munching on Doritos.
I’m going to let this season play out rooting for a berth in the ACC Championship game to hopefully get some revenge against the Noles. And if that happens, I will take great pride in watching Randy Shannon and his Canes win a BCS Bowl game.
For those of you that don’t like my comments or the position I am taking, I can only tell you the following: “It’s a Canes thing…you wouldn’t understand!”

ALL THE COMMENTS THAT FANS OR SO CALLED FANS ARE POSTING ARE JUST AS DISGRACEFUL AS THE WAY THIS TEAM PLAYED SATURDAY NIGHT. I LOVE THE MIAMI HURRICANES. I CAN'T EVEN EVER REMEMBER PULLING FOR ANY OTHER TEAM. WHEN THEY LOSE A GAME I HURT FOR DAYS. 1992 LOSS TO THE HATED TIDE FOT THE NATIONAL TITLE, THE NEXT YEAR LOSS TO FSU IN TALLAHASSE(I WAS AT THE FIFTY YARD LINE IN MY CANES COLORS), WHEN THE STREAK ENDED TO WASHINGTON IN 1994, FROM 95-99 LOSING TO FSUCKU, 2000 GETTING BEAT DOWN FOR 0NE HALF BY WASHINGTON(YEA, I WAS IN SEATTLE - THE OTHER SIDE OF THE NATION FROM BLOUNTSTOWN)TO WATCH KEN DORSEY FALL JUST SHORT OF THE COMEBACK. THEN MY CANES STARTED TAKING NAMES AND KICKEN BUTT. I HAVE SEEN THE GOOD, NO GREAT TIMES, AND I WANT NOTHING MORE THAN FOR THOSE DAYS TO BE BACK. RANDY SHANNON JUST SEEMS TO BE AT A DISADVANTAGE IN THE GAMES THAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT. IF THERE WAS ANY CHANCE OF HIM SEEING WHAT I'M TYPING, I WOULD TELL HIM TO COACH LIKE EVERY PLAY MEANT WIN OR LOOSE. HE HAS GOT TO SHOW SOME FIRE AND INTENSITY. THE PLAYERS WOULD FEED OFF HIS EMOTION. THERE WAS NONE AGAINST FSU. I HONESTLY THOUGHT MIAMI WAS GOING TO DESTROY THE NOLES IN FRONT OF THAT CROWD, BUT I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG. REGARDLESS, MIAMI, IN MY OPINION IS A BETTER AND MORE COMPLETE TEAM THAN FSU AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WIN THAT GAME. AS BAD AS I FEEL ABOUT THIS LOSS, IT DOESN'T DO ANY GOOD TO START CALLING FOR JOBS. THE PENALTIES, THE BAD OFFENSIVE LINE PLAY, AND THE TENDANCY TO NOT SHOW UP HAS GOT TO BE OVER AS OF SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS SEASON IS NOT OVER. THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP AND BCS VICTORY IN THE ORANGE BOWL IS THE MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE OUTCOME FOR THIS SEASON. SO LETS GET IT DONE. IF YOU ARE A CANE, BE A CANE!!!

Being a Cane means you dont stand for MEDIOCRITY!!!. The blame lies with the coaching. Like it or not.
I listened to Randy today on the Joe Rose show and on the Michael Irvin show. I was furious listening to his dismissal of the lack of energy shown by the team and that winning the coastal division of the ACC was really not important. When I heard him on the Michael Irvin show (damage control for earlier comments), I did not believe that he did not hear the question. I do believe that he did not give a good answer though and listened to his explanation. I was surprised to find myself feeling sorry for him. I wanted him gone immediately but now I will support him for the remainder of the season to see what kind of product he will produce. He speaks of consistency, so lets see if they are consistent.

One more thing. Congratulations to FSU. You guys were well prepared and played a good game. I hope you did not shoot your wad though. Please carry through and stomp the Gators!

aNYBODY WHO DOESN'T REALIZE THAT ITS TIME FOR SHANNON TO GO IS A STRAGHT UP FOOL. That Moron is terrible, he has everything u could want on a team minus a real QB and he continues to find ways to get nothing from this team. But thats the QB he wanted now isn't it and look what hes got, a blowout by FLorida State. At least Butch had the probation as an excuse Randy hasn't got anything. The sooner we get rid of this idiot the better. Oh and that thought about saban not hearing alot of noise, that team played ranked teams for three weeks in a row and each had a week to plan for Bama. Really people who has randy beat Wandstache, a directionless Florida State team Last year who came back with a guy name Jimbo this year and give us an A s s Rape, Oh and a depleted Oklahoma team last year. Hes as dumb a coach as he was a player.

Funny, I also felt bad for Shannon. He sounded like a guy who is in over his head.
That damage control on the Irvin show was so uncomfortable.

10 years to come back!?!?!? That's the first time I've heard we are on a 10 year time table to the national title.
We're not Boise State Canes Fan. This is the most fertile recruiting territory in the country.
Try 4 years...as in this year!
How long did it take Saban and Meyer? You think Jimbo Fisher is on a 10 year plan? Did look like it Saturday.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but what good does it do for you all to come on here and belittle the guy while he's down? Shannon is signed and sealed till at least the end of 2011, and most likely 2012. Don't watch if it causes you to write such hate-filled garbage.
When "fan's" come on here with their gangsta persona's and talk about being "real" canes it makes me laugh! Gangsta's don't attend UM, and the Alumni are the "real" fan's! It's a Fing University for Christ's sake, not a GD halfway house!

Hate filled garbage? I'm saying he shouldn't be the coach here anymore. I don't hate the guy, I just don't want him to coach the team.
There's some hate-filled stuff on here, but mostly just frustrated people who just want him out.
It's just not a good fit.
What good does it do? Hopefully, it accelerates getting Shannon out.
My hope is that people out there stop drinking the Randy Shannon Kool Aid.

miami is back just not soon enouhg for all the negative we get on all the media we are back let out your frustrations out im pissed too that doesnt stop u being a true fan RANDY SHANON will be our coach n jacory will be great crawl then walk stop talking cacca be a supportive fan through the thick n thin losses it will happen to the best
October 11, 2010 at 09:48 PM
Two things bother me.
1. Jacory gets the same type of confidence that Manning gets in Indy, and Brees gets in New Orleans. He is not worthy of that. A QB that throws eight INT's in three games needs to be sat down immediately. How bad would it actually be Canes fans if Spencer Whipple got a shot to run the offense? At this point he deserves a fair shot. Whipple showed some solid mechanics during spring practice. It would be extremely unfair to leave him on the bench.
2. The recruiting tactics have got to change. During Randy's tenure only 5 guys have truly shown up- Spence, B Harris, Bailey, Hankerson, and Bosher. Which begs the question, are we as talented as we think we are? These guys are skill demons- good speed, size, technique. But when it comes to execution these guys don't know jack. Look at Ohio State- good talent, but better football players- guys that get the job done game in and game out. We need to start recruiting football players- guys that pick up blocks, make tackles, run proper routes, guys that flat out execute game in and game out.
Now, we are going to get to see our football team's true colors. Now, we really have no other option but to win out. If we lose again, Randy should be out of a job by December. I don't have anymore expectations. I'am not going to brace myself for a win or a loss. My expectations are on the ground and until proven otherwise (ACC Championship) I will still think we are mediocre. For now, we need a change in direction whether it's at coaching, quarterback, or any other place. We need to start again from square one and begin doing things differently. Let's get it together. Go Canes!!!
October 11, 2010 at 10:18 PM
Is this randy shannon on here sticking up for himself because it sure sounds like him speaking. U know in riddles. Guys we are not kicking him when hes down. Its just that he has all the tools a coach could want and he still loses. Do any of you think Jim Harbaugh or brian Kelly or Kiffen or Sarkisian would have lost like that? That would be a Big Fat NO. If they had this kind of talent they would be ranked number 1. People thats what Miami is all about being better than every other team in the country not just winning little conference titles like the ACC or in the past the big east. Those should be taken for granted that we are going to win those. U shannon lovers are just like him low expectations which is why u settle for being mediocre. True Canes accept and expect nothing more than winning national titles.

As an GRADUATE of Florida State University and recently re-locating to Miami I am shocked how U so called Miami fans are so hard on the team. This year your team was out coached and out played. Watch the film and get back to the basics. Please understand that this year the victory belonged to FSU (by 28 pts I might add). If you truly love and support your team you would continue to do so. It is so obviously by the comments that most of you posted that many of you never graduated from the U. When you have invested tuition payments, lectures in classroom settings and graduation day with the same players which are on the field you show mercy. Please learn loyalty.

Thin, medium, coarse, blond, copper-brown, honey-colored, ginger-twist, Sun-kissed wheat or ash - does not matter, it's all hair. And maybe even the color of your natural (yeah, right!) Or maybe you just paid a small fortune for it. The possibilities are endless, as the hair on my head, all 120 thousand of them (for those of you who have a full head of it, or have had a head full of woven in, giving you perhaps, 240000 !!??).
