Gore visits practice, injury report for Maryland

Former Hurricane Frank Gore reportedly stopped by Thursday's walkthrough practice in Coral Gables as UM prepared to face Maryland Saturday at Sun Life Stadium at noon.

Gore, who ranks second in the NFL with 1,039 all-purpose yards this season, watched most of the practice and afterwards he spent time talking with Lamar Miller and running backs coach Mike Cassano. Gore's 49ers have a bye this week before playing host to St. Louis next weekend.

The Hurricanes also released their injury report. No surprises here as quarterback Jacory Harris (concussion) and starting tailback Damien Berry (lower extremity) were listed as out along with defensive tackles Josh Holmes and Curtis Porter.

Third-string quarterback A.J. Highsmith (wrist) is listed as questionable. The Hurricanes are trying to redshirt him.

As expected, Shannon announced senior offensive lineman Joel Figueroa had season-ending surgery on a lower extremity.
