Four Canes earn All-Freshman honors

Four Hurricanes have been named to the Rivals.com ACC All-Freshman Team -- running back Lamar Miller, tight end Asante Cleveland, offensive lineman Brandon Linder and right tackle Seantrel Henderson, who was also selected as a Sporting News Freshman All-American on offense.

> Henderson (6-8, 330) started the last nine game games of the regular season for UM at right tackle. He was tabbed a third team selection on Phil Steele's All-ACC Team. Henderson helped pave the way for Miami to rank atop the ACC in total offense (422.6 yards per game) and third in rushing offense (190.4 yards per game). Last week, he was named Miami's Newcomer of the Year at the annual UM football awards banquet.

> Miller, a 5-11, 210-pound redshirt freshman out of Miami Killian, finished the regular season second on the team in rushing with 633 yards and a team-leading six touchdowns. Miller has also caught nine catches out of the backfield for 64 yards and returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Ohio State.

> Cleveland (6-5, 245) saw action in seven of the final eight games on the year, picking up a start against North Carolina. Cleveland pulled in seven catches for 95 yards (13.6 per catch) - with his best game coming in a start against the Tar Heels, where he reeled in two passes for 34 yards, and a long of 25, setting up a touchdown on the drive.

> Linder, a 6-6, 300-pound true freshman out of St. Thomas Aquinas, saw action in 10 games for Miami, including five starts - suiting up as a starter in three of the last four contests. Linder combined with Henderson along the front line that paved the way for the `Canes to rank first in the league for total offense. He also helped protect quarterbacks Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris which led to UM ranking second in the league in sacks against. Miami finished the regular season with 19 touchdowns on the ground, adding another 19 through the air.

Great to see the young guys that will help build the future league and National Champions get some recognition. It's a great foundation.
This new coach and the talent that's already here will bring a great deal of success.

If we can get the QB situation straightened out the offense should roll. It's the dee, I'm worried about.

Well from Mannys text doesn't look like Bridgewater is coming!! Lets steal John Brantley, he seems like a better pro style qb anyways!! Defense isn't a big mess! we are loaded except Linebacker that is where we need to focus!

TEDDY bear needs to go to USF where he belongs... he does not want to be a cane then F...Him there are better QBs out there to grab... so lets move on

MontanaCane ... brantly is a senior, who already used a redshift year ... He would have to transfer to a smaller division school, not Div 1

Teddy you better look at who got these awards. Henderson, Linder, Cleveland, and lets not forget Brandon Washington who should have also been on this list at guard will lead the U's Offensive line for the next three years. Won't be a bad situation to be in. The fight starts up front and we will be strong.

For those of you who keep blogging negative things about Bridgewater you don't know what you are talking about! First you can't blame him after seeing Shannon getting an extension on his contract and then being fired. Then the fake []_[] bloggers talking non-sense I'm sure really helps the situation. Here are the facts Al Golden is putting a fence around South Florida, if you are a national recruit we will finally see us recruiting these kids hard. It hard to believe that some of the top recruits in Dade county said that the old coaches never recruited them. Bridgewater is not the same type of Quarterback that JH is, quite frankly I think his skill are much better for college than HS. His built is not fragile like JH which is why some scouts say he can play DB or WR. He will has a lot of swag and will very likely lead Miami to NC if we can get him. Bottom line is if your a superstar in South Florida Al Golden is letting the LSU, Florida's, FSU's, OLE Miss, Clemson, OSU and all the other schools that are winning with our kids to take a hike. If you see all the kids on the All American list that are from Florida playing elsewhere it makes sense why we suck know. It time to keep our talent period. Just my take!

Prediction: Golden will have the same probs as RS. letz see what kirby does then.

For as much as everyone said randys recruiting was good, dont get me wrong, espns #1 class in 08 and #7 in 09, and #13 last yr, but we lost alot of top so fla talent from dade and broward. Lamarcus Joyner to fsu, #1 cb in college patrick petersen(was johnson) to lsu, and the list goes on. Imagine if peterson stayed in 08s class, him and harris would have been lock down guys. We lost Smith amd Mccartney(Miramar wr and qb) to west va, the list goes on.
