Canes land 2 U.S. Army All-Americans during recruiting spree

It's been a pretty special 24-hour span for the University of Miami's football recruiting efforts.

Deon BushThe Hurricanes, who lost a handful of key underclassmen last month who announced their intentions to enter the NFL Draft early, picked up four commitments including two U.S. Army All-Americans on Saturday -- Miami Columbus safety Deon Bush and Tampa Jefferson defensive end Tyriq McCord.

Bush (6-1, 185) is ranked as a consensus top five safety in the country by ESPN and Rivals.com and picked UM over Alabama and Auburn. McCord (6-3, 222), ranked 7th by Rivals at weakside end and 13th nationally at his position by ESPN, chose UM over South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Bush is said to be done with his recruiting. McCord said before his announcement he still plans on taking an official trip to USC on Jan. 20.

Both are huge gets for coach Al Golden, should they still sign a National Letter of Intent with Miami on Feb. 1. Oral commitments are non-binding.

Bush will probably be able to help right away. While the Hurricanes return safeties Ray-Ray Armstrong and Vaughn Telemaque and veteran cornerback Brandon McGee, there are plenty of openings elsewhere in the secondary. Although Bush is tabbed as a safety, Columbus coach Chris Merritt, who was in San Antonio for Saturday's Army All-American game with his star pupil, said Bush is more than capable of playing cornerback and probably will start his career there with the Canes.

"What the Canes are getting is a very well prepared, long athlete. He is what people want in the secondary, a long tall body who can play corner or safety," Merritt said of Bush, who finished his senior season at Columbus with over 60 tackles, 11 pass breakups and four blocked kicks.

"People make a lot about how he didn't have any interceptions. Well, there weren't many people who threw his way. For us, he probably lined up at about 40 percent of the time at corner and did a good job when we had him there. He shut down [Miami Northwestern's] Amari Cooper [Alabama commitment] and did a nice job against Miramar's receivers in the state semifinal game. He's a big reason we held them to 14 points."

Bush, who will graduate in June, is the first player from Columbus High to head to UM since offensive tackle Joaquin Gonzalez walked on and eventually earned himself a scholarship.

Bush announced his decision, along with McCord, during Saturday's game.

"It was a hard decision," Bush said. "A lot of them were great schools. But I think I have to put my city back on the map right now."

He then put a Hurricane hat on his head.

McCord, who won the Class 3A state championship as a junior at Jefferson, did the same when he made his announcement for UM. "I am going to take my talents to South Beach," said McCord, who finished his senior season 6-4 on the field and with 59 tackles, 11.5 sacks, an interception and three forced fumbles.

"Coach Golden is leading that program in the right direction. I just want to be a part of it and they have a great broadcast communications program that I want to study in."

The other two commitments UM picked up were defensive tackle Jacoby Briscoe (6-4, 290) of Lafaeytte, La. and Fork Union Prep, Va. receiver Robert Lockhart (6-2, 180), who played his high school ball at West Boca Prep.

Lockhart was a Virginia Tech commitment and the prep school roommate of offensive lineman Taylor Gadbois, who is also headed to UM.Lockhart becomes the sixth receiver UM has in its recruiting class. Briscoe, unranked by Rivals and ESPN, is the second defensive tackle to join the class.

UM now has 31 commitments. Eight (including three prep school or JUCO recruits) have said they will attempt to enroll in school now in January and will count toward last year's signing class. Per NCAA rules, UM can only sign 25 on Feb. 1.

UM's recruiting class is ranked 12th by ESPN and 10th by Rivals.com.

No one said anything about liking it, ignorant 'neck. Stay on topic. Even without a shared title, Canes still own the Gatr Trash.

The big school that couldn't is located in a cultural backwater. A stinking cesspool.

Share that.

You know the funny thing is how ridiculous ESPN is in sucking up to the SEC. Everyone of those morons on their panel of experts is brainswashed into saying just what the network wants them to say. The only one that has any backbone ehough to say that Alabama shouldn't be in this game is of all people Lou Holtz. Reece Davis has his crooked non alligned teeth and face all up the SEC's rearend along with Mark May and frat boy david Pollock. The interesting thing is that no matter how pathetic they kiss up and try and promote the SEC, not one school or the conference itself for that matter is not as polarizing a story or University as the Miami Hurricanes. Everyone tunes in when the Canes are playing or there is a documentary such as the one Billy Corben did on the U. These bozo's at ESPN put on this 24 hour coverage of these two schools (Alabama and LSU) and who really cares to watch other than their fans. When the Canes are on whether a person is a fan or not they tune in because its the Canes. And with Reece Davis's excuses for why this game should happen and this and that that are just as easily dismissed as used toilet paper after a power dump, it truley shows how ignorant these baffoons look on TV. Some one should tell Reece that it doesn't matter what you or I think would happen had LSU played Oklahoma State or Stanford or how many times LSU would beat them in a ten game series. All that matters is what you do on that particular day in that particular game. And the thought of the notion that Davis said only the New Orleans Saints could move the ball on these two defenses simply adds to the facts that ESPN and its hosts are truely ignorant of the game of football. Don't get me wrong the SEC did nothing to disrupt the idea that they are the best conference this year with Arkansas, ALabama, and Lsu in the top 5. But the fact remains that the other teams in the conference are just not as good as those nimrods at ESPn like to paint and really by all accounts are average teams.

UM should join the SEC and shut dem fools up. We already dominate the ACC - lets see what the 'necks can do. Guarantee we would run the table over and over.

Ummmm, didn't you have your chance to join the SEC in the '90's and you wussed out? (remember that?) Please tell me there are posters here older than 25 yrs old?! Your obsession with the SEC's dominance is laughingly...laughable. Try calling into a national radio show outside of the Southeast region and chirp the kind of silliness you're chirping -- out loud. Then see how you get drilled by the announcers. The dominance of the SEC is self-evident right now.

The national stage would like nothing more than a 'black hat' like the canes in the big dance. It would make for great theater and back drama. The one problem there is....you're not winning! Start winning and you can quit whining!

Suggestion -- call Scott Van Pelt's show. He's a self admitted ACC-homer. Even he was drilling the ACC about what a disappointment they've been. He called out UM in particular -- "The last time the canes did anything, I had hair!"

A year later, Weis is gone, many of the recruits have either been flops or left the program and the Gator Nation isn't sure what it has with Muschamp. They fear a rerun of Ron Zook but Zook never had a losing record.

You thought the Zooker years were bad, trailer maggots?

And SEC dominance somehow benefits an underachieving SEC LEAST 6-6 Gatard team how?

For all the talk of SEC, it is the SEC WEST that is impressive. SEC LEAST is awful and will remain so. Your champion, Georgia, lost to a mediocre Big 10 team.

Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky? BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Fake USC? Now that Alshon is gone, we won't hear from them for awhile.

So, Gatr maggots, chirp about the SEC all you want. It is the SEC WEST that carries your league. You are a non-factor. Worry about beating Fordham.

So white heron you call what I wrote, the truth, disgraceful then turn around with your immature response then say the same thing. Really a flip flop in less than two posts.
If you ever got out from under the hobbits skirt you might string a coherent thought through a few posts.
And back up white heron that by saying that I am not a cane fan. Your not qualified to make that call.

Ictodolphin has balls on the breath again.

I'm not saying you're not a cane fan, I'm saying you're a worthless bandwagoning unaffiliated Miamian cane fan.

Go blow your hero Tim Tebow and leave my team alone.

Not that there's anything wrong with unaffiliated UM fans per se - just that most of them only like UM because we used to win championships and now they have a venomous hatred of the school and even the players themselves because the team isn't living up to their expectations.

LB Burgess, sorry, go to Louisville, honestly, I dont think this will be a significant lost, unlike your talents is similar to Sean Spean who as well stand 6 feet, we will not miss a beat with your decision. Keith Brown, same thing goes to you, Louisville is your 3rd commitment, which means you is probably a "head case" and we dont need any lock room issues with next year's team

No UM fans have venemous hatred as you put it for the screw job our team gets from that so called president who has screwed our team up since she got here. She wants a harvard school then she needs to take her baggy faced self to Harvard. There is only one Harvard and Miami is not Harvard. As far as expectations go, our schools fans are no different than that of an Alabama, Texas, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio State or any other school that has historically been used to championships. We want what our football team deserves which is the best facilities, and backing from a president rather than being left on the back burner as if our football team is just a nice little part of the University. Football made the U relevent and something to be proud of not Shalaber and her nerds.

I can't remember them backing out of the SEC or that they were offered, not to say that is wrong but at that time what was the SEC? Nothing they had some pretty good teams, in Florida and Alabama but that was it. Now read it carefully I am not saying that the SEC is not the best conference. They for the most part did their job in the Bowls but they are not as dominate as ESPN makes them out to be. Now the ACC was as I stated before embarrassing in some of the decisions and play that they exhibited in the Bowl season. But you want to talk about SEC dominance, well then who do they play in the regular season? Nobody, thats who. Georgia State, Furman, Jackson State just to name a few. They play nobody outside their conference other than LSU playing Oregon at Cowboys stadium and Alabama did play Penn State at their place but other than that nothing. ANd Penn State, really is that really that dominating a win over a school that is a shell of its old self. We play Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame next year and would play Florida but they are too scared to play us every year. What happened to the gators when they play FSU which is an ACC school? They get drilled. What happened to them when they played a freshman laden team with all world Tim Tebow, the gators won but didn't pull away until the 4th qtr. And before that when they played the Canes they got drilled. So what I say is everyschool that is division 1 play a rotating schedule from each power conference as part of their non conference schedule and see how dominate they really are. No more Elons, Furmans, Georgia States, or Florida A & M's to pad schedules. Go play some real teams and then U can talk about dominance.

I agree with NJshoreCane....
Guys joining the 'Canes will be something that will resonate in your life as you play for a Golden Coached team...
It will not be easy and you will have to work that much harder but the payoff is as Ray Lewis said "You become a Real Hurricane Football player"..
Success is earned through a PROCESS, as Coach G says and the process has begun..
hang out with Perryman, Chick and some of the other guys and feel that 'Cane pride...
Welcome aboard ...
Go 'Canes

Im the great on-line lawyer that has the greatest recruiting expert in all of America.
I told you guys that Bush was a lock for Auburn, Mccord a lock for South Carolina and no way was Lockhart going to decommit from VT and turn around and commit to the Canes
Thats 0-3 for my fat useless recruiting expert
I have faith that he will someday get 1 right
Sorry guys

If we could get the "TROLL", to lower the academic requirments we could recruit even better! The "TROLL", must go!

championships- Right on.
the gaytrposts here are either from some rednk billy sitting in a trayler in Ocala somewhere, or one that goes to the library to post or some gatr alumnus who is back home in the 305, who was beaten up growing up by the cubans and brothers growing up near Tamiami Park, and grew up hating the U becauseof that.

I have been following the U for 30 yrs and never ever heard a former invite for Miami to join teh SEC. that backwater talk from the billies. There may have been talk but never an offer. Besides. from 1979 on, the SEC was non existent. The next ship didnt come till 1992 when Alabama beat Miami. So joining the SEC then for Miami would have made as much sense as LSU joining the ACC next year.

A real schedule was the 1987 Miami schedule: 3 SEC teams, plus FSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Maryland. SEC teams are inbred, they hardly ever want to play anyone away, it has to be eitehr at home or at a "neutral" place. hardly ever.yet The U plays OSU home and away, same with Oklahoma, and we are playing ND in Chi town (a home game for ND).

How'd that schedule work out with SOS this year?

To say the college football world only turned from 1983 - 1992, stopped turning until 2000 -- turning for the next two years, then stopped turning again, is just plain canesian.

championships - you'd be hard pressed to find a fanbase as uninformed about their school as this one - complaining about 'facilities' when there's a $15 million dollar athletic center currently being built for example?

The difference is that there's no alumni base down here. I'm not one of those people who thinks you have to be an alumni to be a fan - CANETILLIDIE for example is a great fan, goes to the games even when we're not winning.

But y'all don't know anything about the university and it's frustrating as hell to read post after post about ambiguous problems that Shalala's causing when anyone with half a brain can see that the problem is two bad coaches in a row.

I mean you actually used the phrase 'Harvard of the South' - do you really not know that Tad Foote invented that phrase and that he was actively trying to undermine the program while we were winning championships despite him?

Shalala's a troll and not good for the football program, but she's never been the main reason the team wasn't winning and most importantly, she's a worthless scapegoat because she's been a fantastic president and will never be fired.

Grooms is at Marshall. Patchen will be a senior.
4 good gets for us. Northrup is swinging in the breeze, so don't look for us to keep him. If he goes, there went our 2 biggest Lb prospects: Brown & Northrup.

Oh white heron now you use a gay slur to show your IQ. Be good to get out from under the hobbits skirts, I know she would be furious at your comment. And Tebow has more class in his little toe than you might get in a lifetime.
So what is your definition of in affiliated?? Is it someone that has been a fan for several decades?? Is it someone that has had family members on the faculty of the U for over 60 years. Is it someone who had a child go to the U?? Or are you the poster child of a fan?? I hope not!!!
Oh, fire shalalalala now she is slimy.

Eudo, my point is look at how long it has taken for something good to be built for the athletic programs. Most notably look how long it took for the football team who deserves more than any sports program based on its notoriety, income funneled into the University from the football team more specifically, and overall exposure the University gets from the football team specifically. I agree that the primary downfall of our football program can be attributed to the hiring of two terrible head coaches but at the head of all of those decisions and any for that matter is SHalaber herself. And as far as our allumni go they are spread out all over the country and are loaded. The difference is when U have a president who wants to win and will do what ever it takes to win your sports programs will excel. And when you have what we have in Shalaber as president, you have kids that want to come here and play but because she has requirements so high, they can't get in because of her. And yes I know Tad Foote is the moron that coined that phrase back in the 80's but she is just as bad as him when it comes to that crap. Besides this is a Miami sports blog which is geared due to the fact that Miami is a football school to just that. Does anybody on here really care about this department or that department or how the science department is doing or where schools rank academically? No, nobody cares about that. So if U can't stand the fact that twe as University of Miami Hurricane football fans want that baggy faced, money grubbing troll out of here, well then U my friend are on the wrong blog, because the real Canes want the old bag out of here. Besides all she's good for is one thing and thats holding her hand out of money no matter what or who it comes from, hence Shapiro. And don't get too comfortable with the fact that she will not never get fired because U said the same thing about Shannon and I told you he would be fired and well we know how that worked out.

Championships - I'm fine with UM fans wanting Shalala gone and I'm fine with them blaming all of the football team's problems on her.

But you all act like you know something about the university and you try to make your completely uninformed opinions into coherent arguments - surely you can understand how frustrating that is to read?

From what I gather from your first couple lines you think it's ridiculous that it's taken this long for UM's football team to get a new athletic center, weight rooms, and locker room?

Then set aside for a minute that facilities don't matter because UM has played in 9 national championship games without competitive facilities and explain to me whether or not Donna Shalala should have turned down the $5 million donation from Todd Schwartz?

Todd Schwartz has a box in Joe Robbie, and guess what, he's there for all kinds of booster events interacting with players.

Now Shalala could either accept the money and get the facilities built or reject it because there's no way Todd Schwartz would let UM investigate his personal business dealings to make sure he was legitimate.

So which was the right move? Is Shapiro her fault and she should have turned down Todd Schwartz's money or is Shapiro not her fault and she was right to get the new facilities put in?

They are mutually exclusive and you don't even understand enough to see that.

And I promise you that Donna Shalala will never be fired because of the performance of the football team, she could convince the board of directors to disband the entire program and I'm not exaggerating there.

But she is 70 years old and there is still the possibility that she could be forced into early retirement if the NCAA says that UM didn't do enough to stop Shapiro and there's another media firestorm.

So keep your fingers crossed, I personally can't wait until she's gone because she's already set UM's med school and the college of arts and sciences up for the next decade of growth and her retirement will mean that UM fans are going to have to talk about the football program instead of blaming the university for everything.

ltcdolphin isn't a gators troll, he's just a bad UM fan who doesn't go to games and doesn't appreciate the players that did decide to go to UM.

White heron either you are there I said it or there are now two real sickos on this thread.
So explain how Shapiro and Schwartz are mutually exclusive. Does Schwsrtz have the same slimy reputation as Shapiro. And yes if you are legitimate you would have no reason no showing you are above board.

SHALALALALALA.....YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!!!!

10YRS OF YOUR PRESIDENCY HAS LED TO NCAA SANCTIONS AND TURNING DOWN A BOWL GAME. THANKS FOR ADDING ANOTHER BLACK EYE TO THE PROGRAM.

YOU MIGHT HAVE BROUGHT IN MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO THE SCHOOL BUT THE MAIN THING YOU HAVE DONE IS MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THOSE TO ATTEND "THEIR DREAM SCHOOL". LOWER THE ACADEMIC STANDARD BACK TO WHAT IT WAS PRIOR TO YOUR PRESIDENCY AND YOU WILL RE-OPEN THE FLOOD GATES OF YOUR BACKYARD AKA STATE OF MIAMI. IF YOU DO THIS, JUST THIS, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL POUR DOWN UPON THE U THE WAY IT HAS OVER THE PAST 3 DECADES. YOU WILL LOSE NOTHING AND GAIN EVERYTHING. PLAYERS LIKE KEVIN GROOMS, AMOS LEGGETT, LUCAS THOMPSON AND MANY MORE WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME HERE. (THAT'S JUST STATING PLAYERS FROM THIS RECRUITING PERIOD, I HAVE NO CLUE HOW MANY MORE HAVE HAD TO GO ELSEWHERE BECAUSE OF THE ENTRANCE STANDARDS..)

PERFECT EXAMPLE...EDGERRIN JAMES

HIS GRADES WERE SOO POOR THAT NO ONE WOULD LOOK AT HIM. BUTCH DAVIS GOT THE OK TO GIVE HIM THE CHANCE TO MAKE SOMETHING OF HIMSELF AND HE TURNED OUT GREAT FOR THE U, THE U'S HISTORY, THE NFL, AND ONE DAY THE HALL OF FAME. NOW HE'S RUNNING A FOOTBALL CAMP WITH HIS COUSIN JAVARRIS JAMES (ANOTHER HURRICANE) PREACHING TO THE STATE OF MIAMI'S FUTURE FOOTBALL TALENTS IN HIS HOMETOWN OF IMMOKALEE. HE STARTED IT BACK IN 2009 AND IT'S BEEN GETTING BIGGER EVERY YEAR.

SO YOU SEE, YOU F'ING TROLL, THAT WHEN YOU GIVE OUR BACKYARD BOYS A CHANCE, THEY MAKE SOMETHING OF THEMSELVES AND TRY TO BENEFIT OTHERS. MANY MORE PLAYERS ARE INVOLVED IN MANY MORE POSITIVE ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE NFL THAT BENEFITS OUR YOUTH.

THE U IS A FAMILY, IT'S OUR FAMILY. I PROMISE YOU THAT IF YOU MAINTAIN THIS COURSE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ON SINCE YOU BECOME SCHOOL PRESIDENT WILL ONLY LEAD TO YOUR FIRING.

I'LL SAY THIS NOW..... I'LL STOP SAYING "FIRE SHALALALALA, FIRE THE HOBBIT!!!" IF SHALALALAL LOWERS THE ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE AFTER THE PELL GRANT SITUATION. THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING. I'M NOT ASKING FOR A STADIUM, I'M SIMPLY ASKING TO PUT THINGS BACK TO THE WAY THEY WERE. THAT'S ALL. THAT'S NOT MUCH TO ASK FOR IS IT..? I DON'T THINK SO. OTHERWISE MY OFFER STANDS TO SUBMIT MY RESUME TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI AT 50% REDUCTION OF WHAT THE TROLL MAKES. THE 50% REDUCTION WILL BE TAKEN FROM THE PAYCHECK AND DONATED EQUALLY ACROSS ALL OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI.

THE ONLY THING I WANT IS WHAT IS BEST FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS. IF THE TROLL IS THE BEST THING AND SHE CAN CONDUCT HERSELF AS PRESIDENT WITHOUT ALLOWING THINGS TO GET OUT OF HAND THEN I'LL SAY THAT SHE'S A GOOD THING FOR THE U. BUT SHE HAS PROVED OTHERWISE BY ALLOWING THE UNIVERSITY TO GET A BLACK EYE.

...SORRY FOR THE LONG POST BUT I COULDN'T STOP THE FLOW.... GO CANES ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!!!!

Keep going white heron. And you know I don't go to games how???

Being "forced" into early retirement is a very polite way of being fired. Simple as that. Call it what you will but it's the same thing.

Do you ever ask someone if it's ok to fire them or do you just go ahead and do it? I had to do it to 2 of my employees right before Christmas because they were stealing... If you mess up badly enough, you get fired. Simple.

In the scenario of "forced retirement", do you ask someone to go into retirement or do you say that your time is up and retirement is looking pretty good for you, according to us (us being the board of trustees,alumni,etc...).

She hasn't proved herself to be competent enough to run a school such as Miami.

The U is a football school, hands down. Maybe one or two people out of thousands think otherwise but the nation refers to The U as NFLU. It makes you think of Michael Irvin, Andre Johnson, Frank Gore, Ray Lewis, Vince Wilfork, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor(RIP), Bryant McKinnie, Edgerrin James, Stanley Shakespear, Eddy Brown, Marvin Bratton, Antrel Rolle, Santana Moss, Jeremy Shockey, Jimmy Graham, John Vilma, Dan Morgan, Michael Barrows, Dwayne "THE ROCK" Johnson, Vinny Testaverde, Bernie Kosar, Jim Kelley, Devin Hester, Najeh Davenport, Jerome Brown, Winston Moss, Alonzo Highsmith, Lamar Thomas, and so on. I'm just throwing down names as they pop into my head but you get the idea. We are a NFL factory. That's one hell of a business to be in, if you ask me.

The troll's time is running out. She can save herself the trouble and simply step down. Hell offer the job to Howard Schnellenberger and if he does take it, let the drooling begin... hahaha

GO CANES!!!!!

@ltcdolphin

wasting your time with this guy. He's far too head over heels for the troll's twat.

GO CANES!!!!!

ltcdolphin - I've met the son, they are a bunch of jock sniffing slimeballs, all boosters are. Haven't met the father but I know they made their money running telemarketing companies and I promise you he would never allow UM to audit him in order to secure the donation. That is what everyone's suggested UM should have done with Shapiro.

Championships - Shalala has never hired or fired a football coach. Paul Dee fired Coker and hired Shannon. Kirby Hocutt fired Shannon and hired Golden. Shalala had to sign off on those moves just like she signs off on the hiring of chaired positions and tenure track faculty but the department chairs and athletic director are the ones making the decisions.

You all give her way too much credit.

Here's what Shalala can reasonably be blamed for:

1) Orange Bowl. UM should have fully funded changing out the concrete in the OB. They didn't own the stadium, they didn't have the money at the time, but they should have done it anyway. They were right not to try to ask for taxpayer dollars or build a lesser off campus stadium though. Not sure that past UM teams couldn't have won in Joe Robbie.

2) ACC. Some people say that UM's move to the ACC is what's responsible for the downfall. The bad teams in the ACC are better than the bad teams in the Big East but personally I think it's a stretch to say that the UM teams of old would have struggled with the schedules UM's now playing.

3) Academic requirements for student athletes. This one's inexcusable, there's no reason athletes should have academic requirements when they're just pushed through on B.S. humanities degrees anyway. BYU has a 'homemaking' major, other schools should be able to let students major in football. It hurts the program but I only know of three good recruits that UM's lost out on because of it, I don't think it's the main problem.

The Shapiro stuff doesn't even matter to me. Some people put college football up on a pedestal and those people shouldn't be fans of the Miami Hurricanes. We won championships with dirty boosters paying players and buying them drinks and DRUGS. College football is dirty and UM has always represented that to the fullest.

You know why Nevin Shapiro happened to UM and has never happened to another major program? Because UM's fanbase is the only one that would produce a rabid jock sniffing fan willing to donate that kind of money when they have absolutely no connection to or respect for the institution.

Shapiro wasn't UM's problem. Shalala's wasn't UM's problem. Larry Coker and Randy Shannon were the problem and I still believe that Al Golden is the solution.

Eudo- Stop being an apologist pu55ie. please. I can' tell if youre a gatr, a nole or a hokie

5*: you have it wrong sissie. Its 1983- 1995. You may be too stoopid or maybe too young too remmebr but Miami played for teh NC in 1994 against Nebraska. Miami wins, Miami wins the NC. period. There hasnt been dominance like that since the Army days in the 20s. Miami played for at least 9 national ch in that span.

My point was the SEC was NOTHING from 1978-1992. ZILCH. may as well been the WAC. During taht time Miami won 4 NCS. Its only hillbillies like you who think the wrold began in 2005.

Eudo,
I know and feel exactly what you are saying, but trying to get some UM fans to recognize certain things about Shalala is like trying to get Protestants and Catholics in Ireland to discuss the things that they have in common more than their differences. You are speaking upon deaf ears my friend.

I think this fanbase needs to accept some of the responsibility for the state of the program.

How empty is our stadium? How well did we travel to bowl games? What's our attendance at spring games? I was in So Cal over Xmas and saw more Wisconin red than anything else in Santa Monica.

I'll put it like this - I feel the same way reading about Shalala as I do reading about the Florida Gators.

They're both irrelevant. Neither one has anything to do with UM football.

Complete waste of time.

Who really has the need to complain about the recruting class its the 6th in the nation ??? and the LB Prospects it was burgess best decision for him to decommit and go to Louisville and im glad he took his boy brown with him because quaite frankly Brown has had 3 commitments Miami, Illinois , Louisville. i wonder where he'll go after his freshman year ahahah. The LB Prospects who is complaining we pulled Kirby and Northrup, and Witt is a awesome player and a motor thats non-stop honestly he is a great fit. if we lose norhrup oh well. if he's smart he'll stay the recruiting class here is ridiculous.

You think they are crying now, wait til we close with Williams, Young, Brodie and the LSU decommit RB- Borque. I believe that would be plenty enough to move us past the turds in the class rankings. And that walking time bomb pysco MUSCRAMP, Is just a pretender. He's in over his head like a pygmie trying to hit on SHAQ!!

Arrgggghh! I hate being schooled by 5>3>2! I hate when he's right**

** - aside from Alabama's championships in '78, 79 and Georgia's in '80. Also don't forget those 'moderately' dominant Bud Wilkinson Okie teams, Woody Hayes OSU teams and Bear Bryant's 60's and '70's teams. But aside from that UM is the most dominant team in history, ever...in this galaxy... After all, the history of football began in '83!

Salt Decommits....
to the Utes.

Junior college defensive tackle Visesio Salt (Walnut, Calif./Mt. San Antonio) has decommitted from Florida and switched his pledge to Utah. Salt confirmed the switch via text message Monday night.

Salt was one of two juco defensive tackle commits for the Gators. The other, Damian Jacobs (Gray, La./East Mississippi CC) has already enrolled at Florida.

In addition to Jacobs, the Gators have defensive tackle commitments from Jafar Mann (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) and Dante Phillips (Venice, Fla./Venice).

2013 is fastly approaching TURDS...tick tick tick BOOM!

F*ck Alabama and f*ck Nick Saban.

Eudo, I understand that U are a doofus when it comes to a football blog. Yes I say it is ridiculous that it has taken so long for our football program to get any monetary contributions. During the 80's and 90's Eudo, facilities were not promoted as such a huge bargaining chip to the appeal of the young athletes as it is today. The fact is to really be competative and give your school every opportunity to win, you need the facilities to make that happen and if you have not got them as a program you are fighting an uphill battle. As for Schwartz I could care less what or where he sits at Joe Robbie Stadium or any where else for that matter. As long as the guy is not doing what Shapiro did with our players I could care less. As for Shapiro I could care less how he made his money or where it come from either, my problem with shapiro and Shalaber is that Shannon (her boy) himself let it be known that there was something wrong with that guy and Shalaber kept letting him bring in the money. Now if my boy lets it be known that he does not want his players around a certain guy that would tell anyone with any common sense that I need to look into to the guy and what he is doing for the players. As far as the legitimacy of Schwarz's business I could care less and what U for what ever reason cannot understand is how he made his money or Shapiro for that matter is irrellavent to me or this conversation, its the fact that Shannon told them Shapiro was dirty and bad for his players and she didn't make sure the guy was held in check. Who gives a crap how these guys made their money?
Now to your latter comment, what the he 11 is the difference between being forced into an early retirement or fired. None other than the window dressing put on it. ITs the same thing whiz kid. And as for Shalaber U said the same thing about Shannon and how did that work out for U. Sorry to put a turd in you puch bowl there buddy, but let the old fart try and disband the football program and just see what happens. There would be such an uproar from south Florida that she would cave and be run out of town along with your little jocksniffing board of directors and goofs like your self. And who gives a sh 1 t about the arts or medical department anyway? Listen up man this is a football blog, not some queer art blog or medical blog. When will you understand that? Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? No one cares about the art or med department on here. So get off of Shalaber's johnson for once. One thing in all that crap you put out there that we do agree on is that Golden is the answer to turning things around. But Shalaber is the head of the University and she is responsible for the Shapiro situation, not Randy Shannon. As for hiring and firing she is just like every other woman in a position of power and that is she has to have the last word on anything and if she signs off on a firing or hiring she is the one doing so with the final say or signature. So in effect she does do the hiring and firing.

just think ... U could have been in the S.E.C. years ago and been a part of all the joined inter-conference fun ... year after year, after year, after year ...

More decommits and transfers to come at UTrailer. Pretty soon, Foley wont be able to schedule even a 6-6 record.

The future looms at UTrailer and it stinks like Trailerville

^^^^^ LMBO ^^^^^

2001 Miami would have destroyed both Bamy and LS who. Neither have any offense. Its all D. Whichis OK, but when you face a tough D, you have toputpoints up. Miami's multi-proned attack with the running game and passinggame, and its incredible depth would have stacked 40 on either team. that said, I am glad Bamy won. I have no problem with Alabama. their fans dont have anything to talksmack about. Its all on there- historically. Unlike F_U fans. But ESPN overhyped LSU and Les Miles and honey badger this and honey badger that, and I was just getting sick of the LSU crp.

Slam dunk championships on the white heron. Now we see all boosters are slime balls. Very interesting comment from a shalalalala skirt chaser.
Now the schwatzs are bad. He met the son. Son probably saw him for what he is and ignored him. Hey white heron, have the schwatz's ever tried to put stripper poles in the stadium?? Have they ever filled their box with prostitutes?? Just to name a couple!!
Hate to be you white heron.

How is anyone going to benefit off of calling out fat man BG or the fake online lawyer jsq? They are both as useless as it gets. Maybe they would like to explain why they have a blogger telling them that Oregons starting qb isnt as good as the backup because the backup is white. Yep thats the quality of in depth blogging you get from them morons. According to the fat recruiting expert the Canes have 300 recruits they have a shot at. Thats going out on a limb. jsq can turn anything into a perverted conversation. The other 2 bloggers, well they are just clowns that will follow anyone anywhere. If they brought anything good I would say so. They are the worst Cane blog out there. I am not Soup/86Cane so get off that lame post. All gator fans looking for a klan rally need to check the pervs website out. Time for the fools to get off this site and stay on their 4 blogger site. End of story tools
