UM Hurricanes Spring Football dates

By now you likely know that UM's spring game/CanesFest is April 14 at Sun Life Stadium. Just learned that it's from noon to 3 p.m.

Nice to know that the Canes don't have to compete with the Marlins anymore to play in their own stadium.

UM released the other two scrimmage dates as well.

The Canes will play their first scrimmage on Saturday, March 24th "in South Florida'' according to a UM release. The Canes are thinking Miami-Dade County, but I'll let you know the location as soon as they let us know.

The Canes will play their second scrimmage in the Fort Myers area on the Southwest Coast of Florida on the evening of Friday, March 30. No times or specific locations have been released for the first two scrimmages.

All three scrimmages are free and open to the public.

The UM release says that "High school coaches, prospective student-athletes and former football players are invited to attend ALL spring football practices.''

Fans? Nope. They're all closed to the public (and I assume media).

During the spring game, which also serves as CanesFest, there will be a stadium wide Select-A-Seat for season tickets.

The home games this season are FSU, Va Tech, North Carolina, NC State, USF and Bethune-Cookman. Love the home games this year.

UM's full schedule with dates won't be released until early next month.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Yes it is great news, Even though as I have said before the place is at best ill suited as a college stadium it's our home and it's time we start making it just that. Having the spring game there and centering other events there along with other improvement that even the Dolphins should want to make, we should be able to do just that.

Plus it's now all football all the time with no dirt infield. Makes it even better.

Fantastic - bring those former Canes back into the fold!

I hope Golden stays on Eddie Goldman. We need as many studs on the dlinemen as possible.

No, they don't play the Gators until 2013, though you'd never know it reading this blog.

We do play FSU next year though, and every year, in case anyone wanted to trash talk a team that was relevant to UM for once.

Fire shalalalalala now

eduo- the trash talk was started by gaytr fans around 2005 when UM started going down hill, and UF started rising (post Peach Bowl). It was ugly. Go back and look at some of the posts and that loser Soldy began ballbering racial things then began bating people by talking about bryan Pata, and several others joined in. Only rarely do nole fans come on here talking smack, and when they do its after they beat us or something and thats that.
-----------------------------
I just listened to Deon Bush's interview with Joe Rose. Thats the kid Golden's going after had- the local kid who bleeds green and orange genuinenly. Like Duke Johnson. Not the Bryce Browns of this world (who just left KU to declare for the draft) who could care less about the U. Broiught tears to my eyes. I'm telling you the U will be back. May not win a NC for a while but they will be back. mark my words. Goldens doing this right. Board of Trustees better get that dang check book out.

Trust me, there's nothing especially lame about Gators fans, go read their blog and you'll see a bunch of loser UM trollers there too.

There are Gators nerds on this blog because there's a Gators blog on this website, that's all there is to it. Promise you if FSU had a blog in the Miami Herald their losers would be here and ours there as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the Bush interview, loved what he said about Golden - 'he keeps it one hundred with you'. That's the best compliment a salesman could ever get!

Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves

Frank Gore tearing it up as always for the 9ers - James and Portis are out of the game and McGahee is winding down on his career, who do y'all think is going to retire as the best pro running back out of those guys?

And how good could they have been if they didn't smoke so much pot?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHxHqUJcpt0

Hey eudocimus, why don't you crawl back under shalalalala's skirt and stop making accusations against former players that you can't back up with facts?? Were you there? Do you have any proof they were taking drugs??? Moron.

Hey Eudo: I'm assuming U are referring to "The Edge" and not his cousin or nephew. E.J. was the real deal and is destined for the Hall. Gore is good, better than what I thought considering all those knee injuries. Portis, as good as he is, I don't think gets enough respect.

But, E.J. is in one conversation and the others another conversation. U agree? Willis is good, too. Drugs. I don't know, maybe at UM but not in the pros. Don't forget Coker was as hands off as U can get.

The U has at least one or two major players on each team left in the playoffs.gore graham vilma wilfork McGhee djwilliams Andre Winston ray ray reed Philips Rolle and Sheilds. At least we are guaranteed that a one or two more canes will be a world champion.

Folks one of three things will happen. White heron will not back up what he wrote, usually the case, two he was taken out of context, or three he was trying to be funny.

I was kidding about 'how good they would have been' - I'm sure smoking some pot in the offseason doesn't make any difference.

That video always makes me chuckle, if you watch some pep talks that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed have given at UM they both talk about how the teams they were on were close and how the players were always hanging out with each other - I love the fact that even when they got to the pros those running backs still found time to 'chill' whenever they overlapped somewhere.

And the nutjob above can consult the video for 'proof'.

Anyway yea 'Cool 'Cat, I've always thought Edge would go down as the best pro out of those guys but I'm sitting here watching Frank Gore and he sure looks like he has a lot left in the tank - I'm thinking that he may take the title when all is said and done.

Well well, two out of three ain't bad even in football blogging.

Man, I just can't slip anything by you, can I?

Frank just bust one for 42 yds

Jimmy graham 62 yd td man these canes are all over the place lol its all about the U.......

Fire shalalalala now

The real story of the first game as far as football is concerned is SFVernon Davis. What a turn around. Complete football player now.

U ready for my book ?

can U read ? Comprehenede ?

will all be Grandpapi's come 2020

2028 3 Star commit ?

Right grandpapi' s with a ring.lol

who would buy a book from a con man who bilked innocent people out of nearly a billion dollars? Who would want to believe anything this lying piece of tra$h says? Why would anyone in their right mind spend $25-40 dollars to read that garbage?

The NFL playoffs are choc full of canes. Overwhelmingly more than any other program. But more imp are those that are actually producing. Graham is the second best TE in the NFL. Willis ran for 79 yds yesterday and a TD. Gore also. Vilma played very well. Tavares Gooden played and conributed. Vince Big daddy Wilfork once again dominated the interior, despite being doubled every play. Today. there will be 3 with the G-men, and 1 or two with the packers.

If Gore stays healthy, he has another 4-5 yrs left. I just think he takes tons of pounding. Willis has probably another 2 at most. But dont forget that he ran for 1199 this year- top ten in the NFL. People talk about Tebow this, Tebow that, and never does anyone mention the very imp contribution of McGahee. that said, as of right now IMO, it has to be:

1- Edgerrin James
2- Cllinton Portis
3- OJ Anderson (superbowl MVP, HOF)
4- Willis McGahee
5- FRank Gore (all time 49er rb)

How could I forget about big McKinney. How can you forget when he knocked the d end from Florida out on bourbon st.His name escapes me. Alex something? Spurrier was like the boys got into some type of verbal altercation. Bs he got knocked the f out. Didn't even partake in that beat down.lol

HAll of fmaer Ed Reed intercepts a pass to Andre Johnson then bats a pass down that was thrown to AJ. Prior to thatRay Ray makes a huge tackle for a loss. Why is anyone doubting the facts? Its NFL-U. Always will be.

At the end of the game. fellow cane brothers AJ and reed greet each other.

Recruits- why would you want to go anywhere else ? Dont let the Oregon Plasma TVs and the gator this and the seminole that sell you. The U is where its at.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Gronkwoski, the best TE in the NFL is a beast and killed the Bronco D. Scoring TDs at will while running over defenders.
Recruits- why would you want to go anywhere else ? Dont let the Oregon Plasma TVs and the gator this and the seminole that sell you. Arizona is where its at.

Is there any Cane Hoops news ?

Many Canes doing well this weekend!
Love ths shot of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed after #20's interception to seal the game for the Ravens.

Orlando 'Turnstile' Franklin had a great game too. Hope he's in a neckbrace from the whiplash he got watching guys run by him all night.

Orlando Franklin has been phenomenal for Denver this year.

He's locked in as their right tackle for the next decade.

Watch some games or STFU.

Dumblogic.
It is obvious tht your uf, fiu, or fsu education does not allow you to understand nuances or indirect logic. It is clear you are a remedial juco dropout. Valencia cc? Tcc? Mdcc?

Is gronk the best te in the nfl? He is
Jimmy g is not far behind
But let me throw a few other names. Ed reed. Intercepts a pass, then bats down a pass to end the game. Prior to that ray lewis has a huge tackle for loss and as usual he was all over the field. At the end, ed reed and andre are greeting each other. A similar scenario occurred between brandon spikes (who?) and tim mr 6 for 34 tebow. No comparison. Theyre gators. This is the U.

In the giant game, antrel rolle recovers a fumble, kenny philips caused a fumble and should have been given another.

The number of canes players that are not only relevant but playmakers, is uncanny. Ergo the reason for the most players by a colege in the probowl.

Recruits should look no futher than coral gable. Miami is rebuilding, but they are still the kings of the nfl. NFL-U.. And dweebs like this one just dont undertand.

Therefore

Thsts right. Franklin is another reason why timmy had a run at the playoffs. The other was 1200 yd willis mcgahee Dont kid yourself girlie boy

Man, I hope I can play against that guy Franklin sixteen times next year!

"Man, I hope I can play against that clown 16 times a year."

/s/

every NFL defense

Me too!

Me three! That guy's a real turnstile!

Hahahaha - not to feed the trolls or anything but y'all are trying to have a conversation about Hurricanes in the playoffs and you're presenting Orlando bleeping Franklin as the counterpoint to Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Willis McGahee, Frank Gore, Jimmy Graham, Jon Vilma, Bryant McKinnie, Chris Meyers, Eric Winston, Vince Wilfork, ETC??

Desperation is a stinky cologne.

You know, one of these schools actually did have a marquee player exposed as a fraud these playoffs with a historically poor performance.

Man, I hope Ray Lewis never retires. That's when the evil, we call it 'crime', will be unleashed.

Hahaha - yup, Ray Lewis said something dumb once, case closed, UM players suck in the NFL!

Why is Urban Meyer acting different at OSU than he did at UF? He just kicked off the team two underclassmen DB for DUI and another undisclosed action. How many DUI did UF have when Urban Meyer was the coach?

Something is wrong here. Either the SEC has a lot of leniency for DUI or Urban Meyer finally cares about the image of the football program. I think it is both.

OSU is the one that cares, they're on a short leash.

"I want to face that clown Teblow 16 times a year."

/s/

All NFL Defenses

"As is typical for most Gatards, Teblow cannot play in the NFL."

Talk about an education, or lack of in your case, at least get spell check, fool.
The point you fail to understand is that these are not cane players, these are NFL players that are former canes. Whatever they do in the NFL has no relevance or correlation to the University of Mediocre's current football squad. As evidenced by the past decade of futility. The only thing this reveals is the lack of coaching, lack of player development and improper use of those players by the school, since they sucked and did not win squat while @ Dah U for the past decade but are good in the NFL. Any smart potential recruit would do well to stay away from such a talent killing cesspool as Dah U.

Check out UM's new policies for boosters - sounds like a good thing but a lot of people who complain about what S***** was doing with these kids fail to realize that football players get that treatment at every other major program.

Hope it doesn't hurt recruiting, it's easy to say we don't want kids who would factor things like that into their decision but a lot of our favorite players who are now in the NFL sure seemed to enjoy the perks.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7467274/miami-hurricanes-issue-policy-saying-boosters-no-longer-host-athletes

We haven't even signed 2012 class and we already have 4 premier commitments for 2013. I we can add Floridian DT's Jay Bostwick and Deadrin Senat, then snare Greg Webb from NJ, we would be back to the dominating Miami of yester year. If we can lure Eddie Goldman this year then its a wrap! Took Butch 3 years of recruiting and Golden will have us back on top again.

Until you a holes start filling the stadiums big time recruits wont come here. Theyll go to LSU Alabama and all thoughs other country ass places.

im no gator fan. im a um fan
