UM Hurricanes Spring Football dates

By now you likely know that UM's spring game/CanesFest is April 14 at Sun Life Stadium. Just learned that it's from noon to 3 p.m.

Nice to know that the Canes don't have to compete with the Marlins anymore to play in their own stadium.

UM released the other two scrimmage dates as well.

The Canes will play their first scrimmage on Saturday, March 24th "in South Florida'' according to a UM release. The Canes are thinking Miami-Dade County, but I'll let you know the location as soon as they let us know.

The Canes will play their second scrimmage in the Fort Myers area on the Southwest Coast of Florida on the evening of Friday, March 30. No times or specific locations have been released for the first two scrimmages.

All three scrimmages are free and open to the public.

The UM release says that "High school coaches, prospective student-athletes and former football players are invited to attend ALL spring football practices.''

Fans? Nope. They're all closed to the public (and I assume media).

During the spring game, which also serves as CanesFest, there will be a stadium wide Select-A-Seat for season tickets.

The home games this season are FSU, Va Tech, North Carolina, NC State, USF and Bethune-Cookman. Love the home games this year.

UM's full schedule with dates won't be released until early next month.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Really? Is that all you got?
Can't refute my post so just call me names. Very intelligent response, typical cane fan you are.
Again I urge you to get spell check or a high school education at least.

2013 early commit Convicted Home Invasion Armed Robber Jayron Kearse … He’s all Urs …

Once again, NOT ONE Top 20 School even offered this felon.

.

A few more dozen of these type of Swagga filled commits and we'll be BACK BABY !!!

THE REASON WHY WE HAVE SLIPPED SO FAR IS THE INSTITUTION WASN'T WILLING TO COMMIT THE FINANCES TO THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM TO PUT TOGETHER THE TYPE OF STAFF, FOOTBALL ADMIN STAFF, RECRUITING AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PERSONNEL IT TAKES TO COMPETE. IT IS AS CLEAR AS THE WATER ON MIAMI BEACH THAT GOLDEN'S RECRUITING PLAN IS WORKING. ONCE THE ONFIELD RESULTS IMPROVE AND THE BIG CITY HYPE GAINS MOMENTUM, THE RECRUITS WILL COME. BE SERIOUS, DO YOU THINK A RECRUIT WILL BE MORE SWAYED TO GAINESVILLE WHERE THEY PAY HOMAGE TO A SECOND RATE QB (WHERE IS EMMITT SMITHS STATUE?) OR TO BEAUTIFUL TROPICAL UNIVERSITY OF DIVERSITY, HIGHER QUALITY RATING, GRADUATION RATES, PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT AND A DYNAMIC SOCIAL SCENE? ALL GOLDEN AND STAFF HAVE TO DO WITH AFRICAN AMERICAN PARENTS, GUARDIANS AND RECRUITS IS TO SHOW THEM THE CLEAR SOCIAL AND HISTORICAL BENEFITS OF COMING TO MIAMI. UF IS THE EPITOME OF THE GOOD OL BOY NETWORK. ONLY STEPPIN FLETCHERS GO TO UF.

dumblogic (apt name BTW) - I'm guessing you've only been following UM since you found this blog, seeing as UM football is irrelevant to UF football and vice versa.

I don't usually respond to internet nerd trash talk nonsense but since you're trying to uphold your post as relevant to football, I'll just point out that about half a dozen UM players in the NFL were on the 2001 national championship team and many others found some level of personal success at UM, if not a championship.

But I don't believe there's an example you could point to where a talented or well known recruit came to UM, didn't play well or was misused, and then succeeded in the NFL. Sam Shields is the best (only?) example but he was a touted recruit as a receiver and I don't know that he ever would have made it to the NFL if Shannon hadn't moved him to corner.

Feel free to prove me wrong, barring that just go ahead and change your name to something else and start up with some generic trash talk instead of trying to make actual points about UM's football team.

Hey Eudo, who were the latest recruits we picked up the last few days?

Many and Susan:

Apparently, Soup, aka Skreetz, is a better journalist than you and has access to inside information that you don't have.

How can that be? Is it true?

There is a LOT more to the insider info than that, but that is the tip of the iceburg. TRUST ME!

IF U want to be an insider you have to do three things:

1. Post everyday, all day.

2. Bring important info of your own.

3. Keep confidential secrets like you work for the CIA.

I have shared well over 100 CONFIDENTIAL emails from Da Skreetz and SaveUMFootball with the current "insiders" without ONE single leak yet.

That is what keeps us "In The Loop" without any fear of losing contact with our sources.

Posted by: SOUP | January 16, 2012 at 09:33 PM

OK, here goes, translated "insider info":

1. Things are looking REALLY good!

2. We have three silents and three schollies left.

3. Goldman and Avery have their names on two of the three IF they pull the trigger.

4. Otherwise there are 2-3 other potential candidates IF they go somehwere else.

5. The work is DONE. The signatures are waiting.

Boy this is brilliant. Such specific information, right?

ft. meyers ? huh ?

Eudo,

Dumblogic is indeed an apt name for the legions of cane fools who keep bringing up the NFL when talking college football. The only reason to do so is because they have nothing to show for in college football.
If you read my original post I did mention a time frame of a decade. So when you bring up the current NFL players that were part of the 2001 team, they are outside my time frame. Those are the only ones in the past decade that actually did something worthwhile at Dah U.
Apart from that class there is no one else, in a very long span. Again, I'm not talking about "personal success" or any of that type of crap. I'm talking about team success, about the program being in the hunt for a NC or being relevant and playing in a big time bowl in January.
So again I contend that in the past decade, all the former canes in the NFL that you fools keep touting have done squat, zero, nada, for the cane football program. They have been part of a lost decade of mediocrity while in college.
You may not respond to internet nerd trash talk but you have a silly feud going with dumbdolphin and dummycanetillidie, bunch of losers.

Ahh, news about the Spring game at last.
Spring can't come soon enough, best time to be a cane you know.
Along with the Summer.
Practice games, scrimmages, and more practice.
All our players look like winners.....
And those 700 or so new recruits......
What a dandy job has AL The Golden One done!
Now come the fall, when the real games start....
Now that's a different story
One that plays out year after year
Will Wake be the new Maryland?
Will Duke be the next BC?
Come October and November we will all cry out
WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!
But what a fine tie The Golden One wears.

Its fort Myers, you piece of dung. Get the spelling right. Of course, that trash dump diploma mill choc full of long haired, overrated 5 star under achieving Gatorade players of the year wouldnt teach you that.

7-6. Furman. Nuff said. I dont have to say much more.

Furman.

Whos next?

Citadel? Oh yeah. You played them in 2009. maybe, Schedule harvard or Yale.

We have former UM, current-NFL players, and their NFL exploits. The fact that Miami has the most former players in the NFL. The most probowlers, the most players in the NFL network's top 100, the most TDs in a row by a former player. the most National cch in the last 32 yrs.

Yeah. We have that. And we are proud. Jealous you has to be a weenie and criticize that like the little girl who is jealous when the other girls in the playground have ice cream cones, yet you are stuck with your bologna sandwich. So you get jealous. And you cry foul. Mommy mommy those mean miami girls are bullying me!

pathetic you. Dumblogic. You are pathetic. Look at yourself in the mirror. Then puke.

championships - I don't follow recruiting too closely until kids sign but I heard Al Golden talking on 790 and he was saying that they were still working on some kids that recently 'committed' to other schools, including a couple big defensive linemen. Of course he couldn't use any names.

Dumblogic - of course there was another national championship game in that timeframe but that aside your whole proposition is that recruits shouldn't come to UM because UM doesn't win anymore. But for better and worse UM still has the best pipeline in the country through Drew Rosenhaus into the NFL. That still matters to many high school recruits, even when the team doesn't win.

I try not to respond to the Gators stuff because that has literally nothing to do with football. Canetillidie and I disagree sometimes when he talks about the university or I say that something isn't Shalala's fault but it's not a feud, I don't think either one of us particularly cares. ltcdolphin - what can I say, the guy has nothing to contribute beyond 'fire shalalalala' so he twists everything I say in the hopes that someone will agree with him and validate his comment.

I usually ignore him but if a Gators fan is calling me out on it then I guess I'm not doing a good enough job...

Furman you are the typical dumb cane I'm talking about. You, if by "you" you mean The University of Mediocre don't have any probowlers, NFL TD streaks or anything else you claim. There are no NFL probowlers in college by definition, there is no NFL TD scoring streak in college by definition. So, in college football, where scUM plays, you have none of these things you claim. In fact you have nothing in the past 10 years. That's the point, you are reduced to coming up with all these NFL things because you have nothing else. All those probowlers you claim did not do squat for you while in college. All those TDs scored by NFL players only help their respective NFL teams. All this is obvious to all, except you fools in the Gables. Come up with NFL exploits because in college football you have nothing to brag about.

UM fans feel pretty good about their coach, recruiting, and future.

I'd ask if Gators fans feel the same but I don't give a sh*t about the Gators.

dumblogic is the typical unifnformed uneducated country billy from Alachua county. Your posts make no sense nor are they organized in any logical form. Your argument is flawed, ewmpty, biased and silly: "Miami fans are stoopid because they cheer for their former players who are no longer former UM players because they are now in the NFL". You see how ignorant that sounds? You are basically telling us not to cheer for former UM players (some of mI have cheered for since before they were UM players). You think that is petty. You mean,,, kind of like the "Tebow Nation"? The millions of gator fans who are still wearing #15 jerseys?

Circular argument, dumb (may I call you dumb for short)? circular argument. Miami fans have had little to cheer for, except for a win against ranked Oklahoma, who came to town to play us on a home and away), against Ohio State (same scenario). The UF whould try that one day, like playing a big 10 or big 12 team home and away. Not Furman, Citadel, FAU, or UAB... although a home and away with Furman would be interesting, being that they had your little team 17-7 after one quarter at the sw-(du)mp.

typical unifnformed uneducated country billy from Alachua county

Is there any other kind?

Good luck with "anger management" Muschimp, turds.

Another uneducated ignorant cracka as your coach. That nek fits right in - did Foley get him a doublewide? Too bad his hillbilly ass is getting fired in 2 years

109 years of mediocrity, interrupted by a three year spell. Another hundred years has begun.

UM fans feel pretty good about their coach, recruiting, and future.
I'd ask if Gators fans feel the same but I don't give a sh*t about the Gators.

Awesome! Eudo gets right to the point, and then uses the point to stab the Gator goon in the stomach.

I know we disagree sometimes, but at least we can still respect each others' opinions on here. The Gator troll just tries to make this board look like their wasteland. He destroyed his blog, so now he wants the same to happen here. Let's make sure that never happens, since the best revenge is living well right in the face of your enemy.

Ok guys what have I missed other than a gayturd inbreeder running around like an idiot lost in the swamp..?

BATTLE OF FLORIDA THIS SATURDAY 21st. The wife was nice enough to get me tickets for xmas.

APRIL 14th JOE ROBBIE STADIUM SPRING BALL BEBE!!!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hilarious how this obsessed troll spends WEEKS shouting Teeeebow, Teeebow, Teeebow, Teeebow, but as soon as their ONE golden calf gets smelted down to Ingots by the Patriots, he suddenly says that talking about players in the NFL is unfair.

When the Gators had more NFL players, I bet he was touting that. Of course that was probably in the 1970s when Charlie Pell was paying off recruits, pre-Lou Saban.

When the Gators had a bigger touchdown streak, I bet he was touting that. Of course that was probably in the 1960s when Gatorade still tasted like dog sweat.

When the Gators had the head to head lead on the Canes, I bet he was touting that. Of course that was probably in the 1950s when they didn't even have any blacks on their team or coaching staff.

So now, when we win in all those categories and more, he wants to claim it is unfair to talk about how our players are doing in the NFL. Unfair? How sad for you that this is an active and lively Canes blog where Canes fans can CHOOSE to discuss whatever they want, unlike the Gator blog that hasn't had an article since November 14th, hasn't had a post since January 5th, and hasn't had a troll visit for two weeks.

You don't like what we discuss here, you can always go to your sandbox, Curse. That blog has averaged just over 3 posts per day, since Gator Nation evaporated. meanwhile, loyal Canes fans have stayed on here, despite your trolling.

You are like Japan in WWII, so busy attacking Pearl Harbor, Australia, and the Phillipines you forgot to protect Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. You have failed, and your home site was destroyed in your absence. You should just surrender, but I guess you will continue to live here 24-7.

dumblogic = Curse Piggy, trying to change IDs again.

Now that his case has been destroyed, that ID will disappear, but get ready for the next one, it will likely be just as lame and interchangeable.

@ dumblogic

Let me ask you a question...

If your mother is also your sister, do you buy one Christmas present or two? Or since you live in a trailer did you all just get together and spit into a jar and give them that???

We all know that you just acquired INTERNET and are probably using old school AOL "dial up" and accidentally came across our Canes blog.

Grow up, go to the corner of your trailer and start praying for coach muskrat to actually do some good for your beloved gaytards. Man, you guys aren't looking good at all for next season and probably 3 more after that. Timmy Teabag isn't coming to save you guys. Good luck.

GO CANES ALL DAY EVERYDAY !!!!!

5>3>2 but < none in a decade, your lack of reading comprehension speaks volumes about your GED "higher" education.
I never said you are "stoopid" just for cheering on former canes in the NFL. I said you are stupid when you bring that topic up when bragging about the current UM program since those players have nothing to do with it.
Now you brag about a win against OU @ home, with a backup QB and several skill players out. The Gators beat a better OU team just a few months before that, with Bradford at QB, with a record setting offense coming in, ranked #1 in the nation coming in, in the top game of the year(that would be the NC game for you in the 305)and te Gators destroyed that OU team. That is something to brag, not your close win a few months later.
Same with OSU, you played them @ home before they settled on a QB and with several key players out. Gators beat them in a January bowl game with all their players.
So I see you have very little to brag about when it comes to current cane football. That is why you keep bringing on the NFL. That has nothing to do with cane football. That is the argument you fail to understand . So go ahead with your name calling and insults because you have no come back, all you have is dumb logic.

Posted by: Furman

Texas has the most players in the NFL followed by USC. Just saying but who gives a crap about the U's NFL players when I pay good money for UM home games?? I want Miami to win now! I am not going to Raven games!!!!!! Stop with the we got probowlers blah blah. Let's hope this Nevin blows over so I can re-up my seats.

Well I see I have infuriated several real cane "fans" here.
First of all I am not the one you refer to as curse or pig.
Second all you poor saps have as a come back is name calling and insults, typical and expected. You have no logical arguments(dumblogic anyone).
5 titles you know a lot about the Gator blog, seems you live there too, so why complain when I post here. But you are right, thanks to you and your fellow fools and the lazy Matt Watts, that blog is dead. That is another reason to post here.
Lastly, concentrate on winning games and conference championships instead of NFL stats.
Not one of you has refuted my argument.

You don't have an argument, you have a statement of fact.

UM hasn't won anything since 2002.

Duly noted, thanks.

As to your opinion that we shouldn't enjoy watching UM players dominate in the NFL because it only benefits UM indirectly - shove that one right up your ass.

Remember the pledge you took.

Thank you,

Arty,

In the last 20 years - UM won 2 NCs and UF won 3. Go back 30.

With all these probowlers we have, the canes should be a lock to win the super bowl. Do we play in the NFC or AFC, can't remember.

Facts I got. Argument based on those facts too. And opinions too.
What you got? Anger and frustration, cause when it comes to college football your canes have been irrelevant for years.

But you got Golden Boy and his 700 recruits coming in to save you, right.
Your savior was just mediocre last year, worst than Randy. We will soon see what else he can do, so far, not much.

if Orlando Franklin isn't an all pro in 3 years something is wrong. do you guys realize how bad that offensive line was last year ??. No Doubt Orlando Assisted greatly with Tebows run.

Listen scUMbag, you have more pro bowlers(lots of good that will do ya), large tabs at prime 112, fake swagga, uncle luke, and more empty orange seats then you could ever imagine in the whole nation. Your diploma mill uh diplomas will at best get you behind the local Publix deli or a Pollo. Your sorry program has been done for over a decade. Get on that time machine and go back to 1987 fool.
