UM announced its spring practice schedule Friday, including sites for the two open scrimmages and the addition of "Fan Appreciation Day" -- a football-baseball double-header on campus.
Anyone that purchases a ticket to the Canes' (March 4) baseball game against Florida will be granted access to the football team's practice at Greentree Practice Field. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
The Canes first scrimmage will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m.-Noon at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, Fla. The second scrimmage will be held Friday night on March 30 at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Fla. A 7 p.m. kick is scheduled.
Aside from those events and the previously announced spring game on April 14 at Sun Life Stadium, the other 11 practices (March 3, 5, 6, 20, 22, 27, 29 and April 3, 5, 10, 12) will be closed to the public.
> Following the Canes' scrimmage in Fort Myers, the Hurricane Club will host a golf tournament on Saturday, March 31 at the Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club. Registration is at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and awards will begin at 1 p.m. The deadline to register for the event is March 23. Please contact the Hurricane Club for more information: 305.284.3838.
> The spring game on April 14, free and open to the public, will kickoff at 2 p.m. and will be aired on Comcast South Sports (CSS) on tape delay at 5 p.m. that day. Schedule of events for the day will be released at a later date.
> In conjunction with the BankUnited CanesFest the Miami Hurricanes will be hosting a stadium wide Select-A-Seat. Fans are invited to come walk the Sun Life Stadium and select their seats for the upcoming season featuring home games against Florida State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State, USF and Bethune-Cookman.

"His #1 Gators though? Lose their Sunday showdown with some california school in front of their home fans. All hype, no actual earning of that #1 ranking. Good thing they play on the field and not in the hype machine."
Said the dummy cane clown. The truth is the Gators are still ranked #1 and that california school is ranked #16 and is a BB power, unlike unranked cupcake rutgers.
So tough to troll on the facts, so the Gator troll has to hype up a religion debate best left on Gator Clause where it started.
Said the doUchebag cane wannabe when he has no facts and is completely mistaken.
BTW, the religion debate was started and is perpetuated by a sUMbag who calls himself a cane. Figures that such a loser would root for the canes.

Are you implying that a religion debate is for losers? Or that there are not Gatr atheists? Or that you are another bible-thumper who cannot compete on ideas and must just throw insults.
I can certainly understand the last part because that is all the Trailertrash University is good for. It does not pump out any thinkers.

FACT - One team had a SWEEP, the other ended with a thud in front of the home crowd.
FACT - You struggled against a team suffereing from jet lag.
FACT - You were wrong, and Miami didn't go 1-2 this weekend, moron.
FACT - Being #1 on week one means NOTHING in regards to the College World Series.

FACT - Cal State Fullerton is no longer ranked 16th on the two polls that were taken on February 20th.
http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/collegiate_baseball
FACT - Cal State Fullerton was not ranked at all on the two polls that have Florida #1 for February 20th, (Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America) so you are twisting the ranking to try to look better.
OPINION - Your fall in the polls is just beginning.
FACT - Miami's rise in the polls is just beginning.
FUNNY - Gator troll calling a Canes opponent a cupcake. FURMAN even laughed at that one. You remember Furman, the team you needed to beat to get bowl eligible?

Denial doesn't mean it didn't happen ... I know ... The NCAA knows ... And U blind Canes will find out in due time ... But not soon. There is Sooooooooo much more that they will pile onto Ur dirty plate that it might take til mid 2012 season for tem to hand down Ur on life support, edge of death sentence...

confirmation doesn't mean it didn't happen, since he wasn't directly involved in any actual vioplations ... I know ... The NCAA knows ... And U blind Gator Trolls will find out in due time ... But not soon. There is sooooooooo much more important violations happpening at SEC schools like South Carolina that it might take til mid 2012 season for them to hand down the slap on the wrist that will leave you disappointed, yet again....
in other words ... Ur desperate!

Nice to see a positive spin for once on one of these stories but this is bad news - corroboration that he (A UM EMPLOYEE) gave Shapiro $3,000 cash to take recruits to a strip club - that is BAD, way worse than the Ohio State or USC scandals.

Not angry, pot. Actually pleased that i tore you up in this debate.
Go ahead. Believe that you dont believe. Thats ok.
I believe in evolution and de-volution. You are an example of the latter. It pleases me to say that I never started this ridiculous argument. You as other here have started the whole garbage of the fairy in the sky.
And given that you and eudo feel that you are kindred spirits, proves you believe in spirits. Thus contradicting your silly argument.
Posted by: 5>3>2 | February 21, 2012 at 05:23 PM
well, to review quickly. 5>3>2's version of "tearing me up in this debate," is:
"The fact you don't believe is proof god exists."
That is a Nobel Prize winner right there. Are you sure you weren't Harvard Debate Team Champion? I mean, with that sort of firepower, you should be a commander of men. Speaker of the House maybe? You and Daniel Webster would have had amazing debates.
As for "believe you don't believe," you are delirious. What does that even mean? How does one even counter that?
I know:
"Go ahead, don't believe that you don't believe."
Your knowledge of evolution and science, and the gaping holes in your theology , comes from what your priests have told you your whole life. You have not once tried to determine on your own the veracity of anything you have spoken about. That is ignorance defined.
Go ahead. Pray to the sky fairy. Only, be certain, no one is listening. And if you hear a voice, that is just you speaking to yourself. In any situation other than prayer, you would be put in a straight jacket.
Religiosity recedes as knowledge advances. Believe in god is a relic of the infancy of our species. It is in decline in the US, has been in Europe and the rest of the world. Churches are empty and closing. But you can be the one man gang to try and bring us back to the first century.

Maryland (16-11, 6-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) trailed 66-61 before rallying with a 10-0 run during the final two minutes. A three-point shot by Sean Mosley and a three-point play by Padgett preceded two three throws by Mosley and two more by Terrell Stoglin.

It would seem that somehow this money would have to be shown was known by someone other than Allen and condoned. That does not seem to likely.
OS was much worse with the school knowing about selling of stuff and not stopping it. Heck prior had multiple cars in three years from a booster. Parked them front and center at school, no lights go on in someone's mind. Right!!!!
Posted by: ltcdolphin | February 22, 2012 at 07:49 AM
Except that Allen was a UM employee and had he given money to S**** it wouldn't have been out of his pocket.
Fortunately the Herald rewrote their story and it now reads that S***** gave Allen the $3,000 to take recruits to a strip club - still not great but an entirely different story with those names flipped around.
And as far as cars go the view from the lot outside UM's athletic center isn't any better than OSU's must have been - it's always filled with Escalades and Denalis, Devin Hester drove a lime green 1960s Chevy with bright green spinners, about as flashy an unaffordable car as there could possibly be.

Barry Jackson's article on the hurricane underclassmen going to the pros early is a good read for those who haven't come across it yet. Some quotes are direct from Alonzo Highsmith and speak the truth about these "clock-punchers" that simply didn't want to work for Al Golden and think the life in the pros is easier. Good luck to them, they'll need it.
GO CANES!!!!!

Be happy in your empty a conscience black hole of an existence, pot. What then drives yiu, the fact that you nothing but an amalgamation of carbon molecules? What a pathetic existence. That then makes you no better than cellulose, which is what we pass in stool. Or no better than a the bacteria that live in yiur colon. Ok I see. A big opinion you have of yourself. Good luck with that. In this sense, you are kindreds with nevin sh...tiro. Both withkut conscience, ethics, beliefs. Ok i see. Have fun with that.

Can someone please interpret what this clown is talking about. Please. What drives me?
the beauty of a sunrise over the bay.
the beauty of mountains in winter,
the great expanse of the universe.
a good song.
moving poetry.
You get the picture. What you don't get, yet it is nonetheless true, is that you do not need god for any of that. It works without him.
That is the arrogant misconception of the god squads. You think that without a belief in god your life is empty. You hold that belief because you are a coward. You are afraid to break free from the fairy tale you were told as a child. You are afraid to think for yourself. You choose to live as a slave to a make believe entity whose existence eludes you.
Now, you still have not given another example of your Nobel Prize winning axiom:
"The fact you do not believe proves god's existence."
Or, "God does not micromanage." Then explain Jesus, prophets, the parting of the red sea, plagues on the Egypt of the pharoahs, Ten Commandments, and on and on. Seems you forgot about those not so minor intrusions into the lives of man.
Or, "god is not evil. The evil on earth is caused by man." Really? Then explain viruses, birth defects, natural disasters, and on and on.
Twist and contort your theology, just like first century man did, in order to fit facts into your fairytale.
Or, why the Church insisted Purgatory existed up until it didn't.
Your religion false. Your god is man made. YOu don't have to be a slave your whole life if you do not want to. Unfortunately, you want to. And it doesn't end with death. Your soul is caused to praise your supposed god for all eternity.
AS Hitchens said, it sounds a lot like North Korea except there, once you die, it is over. No more need to suck up to the dictator. For god squaders, death is just a beginning. You are stuck for eternity (but not really).

"Your religion false" "UF sucks" "Canes are great!"
Great now move on - what is the point? Is your life that empty that you have to 'one up' an anonymous person on a sports blog daily? Seems pathetic to me.

I'm stating the indisputable, peer reviwed, scientific fact that you are a losesome loser. You are not welcomed at gator clause where you camp out 24 - 7 and you are not welcomed here, where your only "friend" seems to be Eudo but most other cane fans despise you and your dribble as they should. Ideas you hve none, so there is no competition. Insults you have many, besides anger and stupidity it's all you have.
Is your life that empty that you have to 'one up' an anonymous person on a sports blog daily
Great observation by another of your fellow canes. Sadly, for you, he is correct. Your life is not only empty but a pathetic waste.

Hey Eudo, what's up with the Jessica Alba talk? I thought you and me had a thing going. I can't stop thinking about you and want you to show me the fossils and the platypus you have. Can't wait to meet soon!

Excellent article by Jackson, right on point - why leave early to be a 6th or 7th round pick?
If those kids are afraid of Al Golden's offseason program wait until they're fighting for their lives to make an NFL roster.

BTW, I don't agree with the Gators troll about religion, he just agrees with me about evolution.
I agree with the Canes troll that the Gators troll has an empty wasted life but that has nothing to do with his lack of belief in a religion, it's just that he's a Gators fan who's obsessed with the Miami Hurricanes and that is no condition in which to live your life.
My own personal belief is that I don't believe in the Florida Gators and I don't think it is possible to know if the Florida Gators are real or not.
Because we never f*cking play them.

I've been following this blog for a while now - when it comes to trolls who change their names every post because they're ashamed of how often and how childishly their posts are it really doesn't matter if they call themselves Canes fans or Gators fans.
None of them care about football anyway.

We are the canes
We just got spanked by the Turtle again
Good thing there is an NIT in BB
Another first round exit is in the cards
Now we play baseball too
We can make it to the CWS
As long as we don't have to play in Gainesvile for the super regional
Another rat is singing about Shapiro
We will stick our heads in the sand and make believe the NCAA will not listen
We discuss religion and God here
Better than discussing cane sports
Fossils and evolution
The canes are in "devolution"
Don't you dare pray to a fairy in the sky
Pot is our leader, he is so smart
We are the canes
In Pot and Golden we trust

College football has moved beyond a few channels on your TV dial, making a serious move into regional TV and streaming. It's a fractured broadcast landscape, both on your tube and online, but it's not so overwhelming once you know where to look.
