UM Canes guard Jon Feliciano out for the rest of spring with injury (knee)

Just got the message from Chris Freet, UM associate athletic director for communications and marketing, that UM guard Jon Feliciano, a redshirt sophomore, is out for the rest of spring "after suffering an injury in the March 24 scrimmage.

"Feliciano will be further reviewed this week.''

The injury that we saw he suffered in the scrimmage at Ted Hendricks Stadium was, unfortunately, a right-knee injury.

I talked to Jon immediately after the scrimmage, when he had his right knee heavily bandaged, and had a large bag of ice over it. He was understandably upset, but gracious as ever.

He had leg injury problems last season, too, so you have to feel for him (and the Canes).

Here's how he described the situation on Saturday:

"I was pulling and I hit the safety, Ray-Ray, [and] OT [RB Eduardo Clements] was about to break but he got hit in the back and he kind of fell into my knee. Hopefully it's just a sprain. They haven't told me anything. I'll just keep some ice on it and see how it goes.''

Here's hoping it isn't too bad for Jon.

Better that he rest the knee than to let it be a nagging injury all season.

Heal now, play later!

I went to Immokalee High School with Edgerrin James, but I now work in Fort Myers. Hope to see all my Cane fans on Friday at Bishop Verot High School. Fort Myers is all Gay Turd country, but there are more Canes fans than FSU Bimbo fans.

CANE4LIFE

Oye, I am trying to catch a ride with anyone who can drive over. My impala is on the fritz but I can bring a lot of swag to the west side.

FEAR THE TIE!!!

GO CANES!!!

Bishop Verot hs is easy to get to. Fort Myers isnt very big.

Take I-75 to exit 136 (colonial blvd) head west to Summerlin road. Get off summerlin until you see the signs for the hs on the left about 1/4 mile.

The school isnt big but they are adding bleachers. Its proturf, the like of which only a handful of schools have here in florida. A former cane player is one of their assistant coaches.

lets get a great crowd there. Concessions are very good. Try the pulled pork sandwiches!

This is more or les the begininning of hillbilly country so yes there are mostly turds here. But there are a lot of canes fans as well. Immokalleee- only 1 hr away is mostly U country.

Lets get it done!

I feel for Jon because he was hoping on a great Spring Practice...Keep studying, grow your football i.q. and hit the weights on upper body reps etc.
Rest and come back ready to go...come summer.
Swase will tell you that you can develop the muscles around the knee, fibres and tendons, but the best medicine is rest and healing.Use this time to improve the techniques visually so that when you are physically on the field it will flow...
You are a good asset to the team Jon so hang in there we will need your enormous talent down the line..
Go 'Canes.

ditto ugo

Sorry once again not me. I don't drive an impala. They're cheap looking cars IMO. I do have 3 cars though. A '06 tundra, '12 cadillac, '96 supra(weekend'er). I got my own rides thanks though, broke beetch. Man people love to be me. Thanks for the "props homie".

Have a nice day and don't forget to tip your waitress.

GO CANES!!! FRIDAY 6:45PM FORT MYERS

Don't worry about Jon that kid is a fighter. He'll be ready come game time. I saw the play when Clement fell on him. It wasn't anything crazy most likely a precautionary thing. Good thing we have Jermaine Johnson to fill in. With the Olinemen that we have now, we'll be the biggest and hopefully the strongest in the nation. That will give plenty of time for Williams, Morris, or Crow to throw down field.

Nice to see Brandon McGee (or as I like to call him Mr.McGoo) hustling and playing his receiver with no cushion. Only took 4 years but I hope he brings it. He actually looked good for the first time since he walked on the field 4 years ago. He's the senior so he needs to show it and push the younger guys. Finnie looks like a starter to me. That kid is just hungry.

APRIL 14th JOE ROBBIE STADIUM, A LOT OF QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED.
