Transcript of UM coach Al Golden following the win over USF, plus post-game video interviews

UM coach Al Golden's post-game transcript following the 40-9 win over South Florida.

On his team’s win...
"We knew they were going to bring a lot of energy - the game means a lot to both teams. I was nervous with them coming off a bye week. We did whatever we could to get them fresh this week. We didn’t go in pads very much, and the kids responded today. I was very pleased with the effort, and obviously the amount of kids that stepped up - most particularly at wideout, to answer the call, because we had some injures at that spot."

On the performance of the wide receivers...
"Obviously we really believe Herb [Waters] is going to be a really good player for us. Philip [Dorsett] grew up tonight. I was so proud of Kendal [Thompkins], the plays he made, the blocks he made, the unselfishness he showed out there - he really deserved to go out that way. I’m very happy for Kendal."

On the performance of Clive Walford...
"Our biggest thing with Clive, and what we keep saying to him, is we have to keep pushing you to five, six, seven catches a game. He has that ability. If he didn’t have that in his talent zone, we wouldn’t push him. We have to get him out of his comfort zone and into his talent zone. We think he’s a six-, seven-, eight-catch [guy], he’s in that range. We haven’t got there yet with him. He’s getting better. Sometimes you look out there and you forget he doesn’t have a long lineage in the game. He’s a sophomore. I’m pleased with the direction he’s going and how he’s working."

On being bowl eligible...
"It’s nice. Obviously we lost by five points to the two ACC Coastal teams, which is disappointing. We’ve had a tough road to get to this point. I just stay focused on moving the team forward. When I look out there and see Herb Waters doing what he did today, and some of the other guys respond the way they did, the young guys, it’s really exciting for the future."

On the performance of Stephen Morris...
"They were pressuring us a lot. They hit Stephen a lot on plays he shouldn’t have been hit early on. I think the offensive line responded in the third quarter, they obviously protected him better. I think Stephen shook it off, and that third-quarter drive was as good as any drive we’ve had. We’ve stalled a couple times in the third quarter when we’ve gotten the ball. Stephen had a good look, we protected, we had a good mix of run and pass there - that was excellent."

"I’m excited about Stephen Morris. I look out there and you take Mike James off the field, and everyone else back. I’m excited about the direction that that’s going, and how those guys are maturing. To see Stephen step up like that is great."

On self-imposing a bowl ban...
"I’m not in that loop. I have complete confidence in our president, our legal counsel and our Athletic Director Blake James. The way I look at it is this - we have the best president in the country. A president that oversaw a 600 million dollar budget when she was in the cabinet. She was in rooms where they made decisions as to whether they are going to overthrow heads of state, whether we were going to commit troops. I think she can handle this one. I have complete confidence she can handle this one. I’m just happy for the guys. I’m happy for the win today. I’m happy to have the opportunity to go to Durham next week and play for the Coastal."

On his role in the bowl decision-making...
"I’m not part of it, and most of that is to protect me from the legal side of it, to be quite honest. I’m not privy to what the president is privy to. I don’t know what the president knows, or our legal counsel, or what Blake James knows, and I’m not a part of that. I’m sure there will be some discussions tonight and tomorrow and we’ll go from there."

On addressing the bowl eligibility with the team...
"I lamented the fact that I didn’t address it before Virginia. For all the things we didn’t do well in the game, I wish I had said, ‘hey guys, I’m getting so many questions about it, if we are we going to do this or do that, so I know you must be seeing it or hearing it.’ I think the kids did an awesome job this week of just listening to what I was saying and what the staff was saying. Just live in a vision. Go out and play. Enjoy it. Don’t let anyone get you down, talking about what you don’t have, because it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy."

"I thought our kids enjoyed it tonight. Our kids played hard. We have to do the same thing next week. Wehave to block out the circumstances. Don’t make any excuses, we’re responsible for what we can control. The rest will take care of itself - I have faith in that."

On playing for a spot in the ACC Championship Game next week...
"It’s critical. It’s critical for our seniors to weather what they have weathered, and to be able to have an opportunity to go out like that. If you look at it all the way down the line, if you’re a freshman, and you’re playing for that your freshman year, you become accustomed. You change the culture. They start to understand what it means to pack your bags and go on the road to Durham or wherever you have to go to win that game. We’re going to have our hands full – we know that. All our Coastal Division games are hard to win. I hope our guys learned from the Virginia game on what we need to do. That’s my focus. I have complete confidence in our leadership and the direction we’re going with the program and what we need to do to move forward."

On the timetable for a decision...
"I’m here to coach the team and make them better. I’m here to move the program forward and move the team forward. I want to reiterate how proud I am of the guys. You can say whatever you want, come at me, bury me all you want. Attack me all you want. These kids who have stuck it out, who have stayed here, who have never gone one week in two years without hearing this nonsense, don’t blame them. I appreciate all those kids that not only stayed here, but those guys that answered the bell, that answered the call to fix this. We will get it fixed."

On the performance of the team’s defense...
"Denzel [Perryman] and Eddie [Johnson] make a difference, I don’t think there’s any question, having guys back like that. Hopefully we’ll get Deon [Bush] back. I think Corey King did a nice job. The presence of all three of those kids made a difference in the game. We played a lot of guys, we rotated, we got some takeaways which were huge. It was a good win."

On the defense holding USF offense to single digits...
"We were all disappointed with how we played last week and the circumstances we were dealing with. The three games leading up to Virginia, we showed marked improvement, and obviously we got back on track here tonight. You can’t erase what happened last week, but obviously we all understand what goes into a game like that and an effort like that. I thought the guys responded today."

On blocking out distractions with a young team...
"It’s tough. It’s not just the kids, it’s everybody. Everybody in the organization. I’ve never had a season where I wasn’t answering for those questions, never been in a kid’s home recruiting where I didn’t have to answer those questions. I can’t wait for that day. I thank the parents, and the players who stayed here to fight through this – those are the ones we should be honoring. Those seniors who stayed here to fight through this and didn’t take the easy way out, and all the kids that joined us, that want to see the University of Miami back where it needs to be."

On the play of freshman safety Rayshawn Jenkins...
"I think he’s talented. That rookie class has really stepped up. I don’t know if he’s the ninth or 10th freshman who has started for us this year, but they’ve stepped up. They’ve really had to fill in. A lot of them were pressed into service before they were ready. They’re competitors, they love football, and they love the University of Miami. I’m very pleased with Rayshawn."

Nice win Canes finish strong and beat the hell out of Duke!!

I believe in this guy! And the guys on this team. F[]_[]ture is bright. Don't let the haters forget. It's all about the []_[]

This freshman class will do some great, great, things nice WIN!...GO CANES.

Very happy to see this team play the game with such energy. These coaches and players have been through a lot of adversity over allegations that none of them are named in. We are on the right track and have the right guy leading the pack it appears. This team could have folded. I like seeing how they reacted to all the chatter and the suspensions. Came out and had a statement game. For all the negative talk about the defense, they are showing growth and some real play makers are stepping up.

Calvin,
Great call by you on Herb Waters stepping up. Don't listen to some of the individuals on this blog who get on you. You are not like some of the sad sacks who if UM beat 'Bama 62-0 would come up with some negative and complain about coaching and 4 man front, etc. In your post you say whaat you feel and if people take the time to read your post (they can be long), they can see that they are thought out and that you really want UM to be back as a top program in the country. If you say anything that some guys don't agree with or like, they instantly go to the name calling. Pay them no mind.

THEY WILL ALL COME, THEY WILL ALL WIN, THEY WILL GET RINGS, THEY WILL ALL FIND GREATNESS AT THE U LIKE SO ANY BEFORE THEM AND MANY WILL PLAY ON SUNDAY'S. WE HAVE ALL LIVED THIS BEFORE THE SUM OF WHICH WAS ANOTHER RING. IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER WHAT HAPPENS NOW! THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL IS ONLY AS BRIGHT AS THE TORCH YOU CARRY...GO CANES

"Come at me, attack me" etc. I continue to like Golden more and more each week. Bumps in the road there have been and will continue to be, but I feel things are getting better. No coach will come in here and take this program where it is and show any better results. I remember people were screaming for Leach (basically has mutiny on his team right now, investigated by Pac 12 and Universtiy in his 1st season, has lost games that were winnable because of his play calling, and has a worse record than the Wulff last season and had almost everyone back) Cristobal (check his record this season) etc. The grass is not always greener and Golden is a quality guy who is going in the right direction. D coord is still a question mark for me and critisism there is justified, however, I wonder who the "fire everyone" crowd would want to lead this team and who would take this team under these conditions and do any better. Changing a culture overnight does not happen, but I think the foundation is being laid. Thanks Coach for staying the course and thank you seniors for hanging in there as well.

I said before we blow out USF and will do it again against DUKE.

Next year we will win at least 9....very proud of these canes.

We have the best president in division1 if you don't count 119 others.

Al Golden I like him!!!

The only thing lousy about this team and program are the big mouthed yet invisible fans at Sun Life.

Great win for the Canes, regardless of USF's record.
Baylor, with a HORRIBLE defense is ALL OVER KSU tonight.

I hope Donna realizes the anti Hurricane sentiment NCAA big wigs harbor. We could eschew 3 bowl games, and they'd STILL hit us a a 2 year bowl ban and the loss of 10 scholarships.
If we beat Duke, we MUST be allowed to to play for the ACC championship, if ONLY to allow our seniors a chance to make their statement against FSU for the last time.
We will be HUGE dogs, so nothing lost if we lose. If our recruits TRULY want to be Canes, they'll come. If not, we'll find others that DO.

BTW, my solution to allow an on campus stadium at the U:
Tear down Mark Light Stadium (we lose a 1/2 million a year on baseball), let them play at the closest high school, or perhaps as an opening game before the Marlins... and build a FOOTBALL stadium on the location of the former Mark Light.
Have parking at Tropical park, with shuttles. Students, of course WALK with the players on the new WALK OF FAME PRE-GAME.

I'm only half kidding here.

Great win still not sold on D'Fino.

Yes im screaming for his head

fire DNOOOO !!!!!

How low have we fallen!!! Celebrating a win against a middle of the pack team at most playing with their 3erd string QB and their playmaker out and with a 3-6 record. Now we are big shots with 5 loses and DNO s D is Gr8 and improving!!! JAJAJ its a JOKE!!! our program has become pathetic. OHH I forgot we are YOUNG yea right Stanford just beat OREGON with a first year QB!! Hey why dont we get a coach from Stanford!!!

For Washingtong Cane: I agree with your objective comments. However, Butch Davis could certainly and would certainly come in and do a simialr yeomans job under the current UM constrained conditions.

Davis has done it before at UM while under probation and he recently got done not only rebuilding UNC, but reconstructing their program.

As long as Golden continues to win, let him have at it. However, if he is going to continue to volatile up and down "let down" games the same way Shannon did, along with not getting the defense under control, then if Butch Davis remains to be available, the U has to give him solid consideration in bringing him back to finally get the U where it needs to be, with his proven college coaching track record.

Right now Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee are all courting Butch Davis while he lets his UNC contract expire, while being a consultant for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

The main uphill battle that Golden wil have to face is the unfortunate fact that he followed Shannon and Canes fans are impatient. Moreover, many think he is in over his head coaching at our "historically winning" program. Winning solves everything, but if Golden continues to struggle to get over the mediocrity hump, and Butch Davis is available, Canes fans will be lamenting for Davis'return.

That being said, Coach Golden prove this commentary wrong and Go get 'em!! I admire your work ethic, passion, and organizational skills and would like nothing more than to see you succeed at the U!!

Not Impressed by the win because USF is HORRIBLE!!!!! We still gotta Fire Coach "D?F-NO!" Skip Holtz need to be fired too for only scoring 9 points against our Defense.

GOOD WIN GUYS BUT NOW IS THE TIME TO GO GET IT! YOU GUYS HAVE FOUGHT HARD ALL YEAR,YOU'RE YOUNG,YOU GOT PENDING NCAA SANCTIONS, ALL SORT OF CRITICISM FROM GUYS LIKE ME. BUT DAMN IT WIN NEXT WEEK AND YOU'RE CHAMPIONS! QUITE FRANKLY YOU DESERVE IT! THINK ABOUT GUYS LIKE KENDAL THOMPKINS STAYING THE COURSE NOT GIVING UP LIKE THOSE OTHER "PRIMA DONNA'S" WHO LEFT EARLY! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! THINK ABOUT HENDERSON FIGHTING HARD AND WORKING HARD EVEN THOUGH HE LOST HIS BEST FRIEND! THINK ABOUT MIKE JAMES AND HOW HE STAYED THE COURSE DESPITE LOSING A DEAR LOVE ONE! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! THINK ABOUT HOW GUYS LIKE ME HAVE CURSED AND SHOUTED AT YOUR DEFENSE ALL YEAR EVEN THOUGH YOU GUYS NEVER QUIT FIGHTING OR HUSTLING! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! THINK ABOUT THE 2 A DAY PRACTICES IN THE HEAT,RAIN, WHEN YOU DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT, WHEN YOU FELT LIKE WHAT'S THE USE, I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! AND EVEN IF YOU DON'T GET TO GO TO A BOWL GAME! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! WILL IT BE EASY? WHO GIVES A CRAP? GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! YOU SENIORS HAVE STAYED THE COURSE SUPPORTED THIS PROGRAM AND PAVED A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THIS YOUNG TEAM, NOW! GO GET YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP!

Well said Terry King. The seniors that stayed have set a great example for the younger ones. I'd love to see the Canes beat Duke and play in the ACC championship game against FSU. We can beat them if we play 4 quarters of good football. I'll understand if the U does not accept the ACC championship to lessen the NCAA blow but I'd love for the seniors to be rewarded.

@WG Cane Do not kid yourself. The last game should have been a blowout but those refs like to keep the CandyCanes in the game.

I dont think Golden is doing a bad job with such a young team. My problem is his game day decision making. Against ND and NC st. he had them in punt situations and tried to block the punt keeping drives alives. Both times each team scored 7. When this D gets a stop set up the return. Against Florida st. not knowing the 10 second run off rule before half cost him 3 points. Not running the ball 3 straight times against Virginia with 5 minutes to go he throws on first down and stops the clock. You had to make them use there times outs. Especially the way Duke and James were running you challenge the O line. Should have tried to run more against FSU with the lead he played like he was 10 points behind not 10 points ahead. How about first and goal at the 1 yard line against NS st and we throw and interception run the ball down there throats!! Turned the momentum. I'm done

Great Job Canes!

Good to see a dominating win over an opponent that has been competitive in the past.

And, though they had their 3rd string QB most of the game, less than 10 points is great for our Defense.

DO NOT SELF IMPOSE A BOWL BAN AGAIN. LET THE TEAM PLAY FOR THE COASTAL AND THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP AND A BOWL.

THE NCAA WILL SCREW US NO MATTER WHAT, AND WE SHOULD BE DONE BOWING TO THEM WITH LIBERAL SHALALALALA GUILT AND FEAR!

Keep playing for all you can, Canes. You deserve it!!!!

STAND WITH PRIDE, UNIVERSITY OF Miami!!!

I like you Susan, but as a reporter you need to be specific. When you said a decesion will be made by Sunday. Is that this Sunday or next Sunday after the Duke Game? Living in Atlanta, I can't tell you how angry I get to hear GT is still in the hunt for the Coastal. They are already saying that UM will self-impose the post season. I hope they wait until after the Duke game to decide. I'm going to the game to support our team. A chance to win the Coastal is Golden! No one is going to remember our record, just that we won the Coastal in 2012 season.

Some of you are so easy to impress? Guys we beat SFU not FSU, we won a game that we are supposed to win! Each week some of you mention that we have a young team and you can't wait for the future. Wake up call, the future is now and we are still a bad team with pathetic coaching. There is a reason we don't fill the stadium, there is a reason 5 star HS players refuse to sign with the U, there is a reason HS coaches are no longer encouraging their players to consider the U, that reason is the head coach and his two coordinators. We are never going to improve, with this current cast of clown in charge. WE WILL NOT beat Duke!! Because we will not be prepared!!!

Howard Schnellenberger 5 yrs coached 57 games 41-16
Jimmy Johnson 5 yrs coached 61 games 52-9
Dennis Erickdo 6 yrs coached 72 games 63-9
Butch Davis 6 yrs coached 71 games 51-20
Larry Coker 6 yrs coached 75 games 60-15
Randy Shannon 4 yrs coached 50 games 28-22
Al Golden 2 yrs coached 23 games 12-11

A Seminole-Cane rematch would be good for the ACC and the NCAA. Canes on TV are the highest rated team.

Still to this day i am not sold and will neva be with Mark D'Fino at the helm of our defense.

We didnt win because we improved but more that USF sucks. They played with their 3rd string qb guys. Before thay 2ns stringer got popt againist DP they were driving. Other example is 2min drilled at end of 1st half they droved bc D'Fino playing soft zone again.

Offense line is playing better of late and is improving. They going to be sumn serious next year.

Hers is breakdown next year:
Great Good Average Below Average
RBS WRS TE's Mark D'Fino

We don't really need the negative bullsh*t from you or anyone else , this is our team and we will stand behind them no matter how much you try to downplay the importance of our victory Darind . I know you won't beat Duke but we will . You have lost before you even play with that crap .Go Canes

Degan & Navarro are a bunch of trolls. Stop answering their questions Canes, they are just looking for muck.

You 2 are old school muck-racker yellow 'journalists'. Shame on you looking for BS to write about. Go live with each other in a van under the biscayne causeway, you deserve it.

WIll tell you one that next year 9win can be judged based on early the game against Factors UF. If we beat them, we will fly after that nationally.
IN OTHER WORDS, poor performance will fire a coach like DC after the game.

Letter to Mme Shalala, Board of Trustees, Mr Blake James:

Please do not self impose a bowl ban unless the football team loses to Duke. Give these young men an opportunity. I beg of you to think this through. Playing for the ACC championship game would be a huge positive ray of light for this program and for the ACC, especially in view of the doom and gloom that UM hhas endured (some of it self inflicted) of the last 6 years. TV ratings will be big, and this is the match up that the ACC and evryone else would have wanted whenUM joined the ACC. That is, assuming and only if they beat Duke. If they don't I would wholeheartedly support a bowl ban. BUt please wait until then.

The reasons to play in the ACC ch. game are:

- A huge upside in recruiting. Good recruiting will partially offset the negative effects that the NCAa penalties will bring to the U- for several years to come. It will at least go a long way in keeping current commits, and may sway some commits who are undecided or have not yet committed , or those who have de-committed. THAT is looking towards the future/

- For current seniors and junior athletes, especially those who have suffered injury such as Malcolm Lewis and Lockhart. For the dedicated underclassmen who have been asked to do so much.

- For the fans. Yes, whether we arre alumni or not, many of us do conrtribute to the progrtam, and may of us do buy tickets and pay $30 for parking for each game. The current horrible state of south florida professional sports due to the Marlins and Dolphins leaves us only our beloved U to cheer for, and to be proud of.

Reasons to self impose-

To offset the severity and/or duration of the NCAA penalties to come. really? Is that guaranted to happen? How much more lenient will the penalties be? Will teh benefit of this outweigh the reasons I outlined above? I don't believe so. I strongly believe the NCAA will try to send a message and penalize ius hard, despite the self flagellation of self imposed bowl bans. All due respect to the NCAA, I do not see how sacrificing to the NCAA Gods will make it less penal.

Please consider this. Wait till after the Duke game. Please reward the students and coaches who are doing this right, and have nothing to do with what happened in the past!

UM Title #6
I agree with you totally on Butch Davis. Problem is, Butch had NCAA crap go down on his watch, his fault or not, it happend. Miami cannot hire him now after what he left in NC with what Miami is currently facing. If he were not "stained" (again, justified or not) I say he is a realistic option. Right now, no way he is a realistic option. Self impose 2 bowl bans and then hire a guy who had his own program in jeopardy? Other schools that are not in the NCAA can afford to take a chance on him and it will probably pay off, but Miami cannot. I think you are right though,he did it before, I just don't think he is a realistic option. These guys will keep Golden through it all, ups and downs, and I am giving him his full 4 years before I start my "fire em all" mantra. I hope he can eliminate the downs and keep this building. And take a good hard look at our D moving forward.

Not in the NCAA "fire" I meant to say.

Morris and company are absolutely great athletes. And they have the ability to obtain another National Championship for Miami. But not with these coaches and not with shallalalalala around. They are too stupid.

And in several years, when golden and his stupid coordinators are still producing only break even seasons after no sanctions, no recruiting problems, matured and experienced juniors and seniors, you will see.

You can NOT stop the sisters of the blind school with a zone pass (NO) coverage, no blitz, no LBs up close (lack of) defense and NO slant, connect with our receivers while on the run pass patterns that go beyond the first down marker every time.

Self impose a ban, please this year. There are punishments and sanctions coming without a doubt. After all this time the NCAA has been investigating the "U" , the punishment will probably be severe. The only thing that can be done at this time is to minimize the punishments.
Predictions: 1) We will beat Duke (record 7 wins -5 loses) if we self-impose a ban.
2) We would lose to FSU in a ACC champshionship game as well as probably lose the bowl game as well(record 7 wins- 7 loses) if we do not impose a bowl ban. I love the "U", but the neutral oddsmakers predicted we would lose to University of Virginia by one point last week and we did -not because they hate us but simply we they recognize the inexperience and recent results of this team. This year, we are "too young" to win the big games. Next year looks alot more hopeful
3) Recruiting is more important for the future than a mediocre season this year. The recruits are more likely to come to the "U" if they feel that the worse of the NCAA punishments are behind us rather than forthcoming. Also the "U" needs to minimize the loss of scholarships which can be mitigated by self-imposing a ban . Coach Golden can also "sell" the program as a rebuilding process with a 7-5 record more easily than a 7-7 record

We have to self-impose to put ncaa sanctions behind us as quickly as possible. UNC is the real coastal division champ, so we didnt earn anything.

WAY TO GO CANES!!!!!! SEND THOSE SENIORS OFF RIGHT!!

Now bring on the dukies.

GO CANES ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!

darind: exactly.....the stats are the stats....golden and company are not the answer...we beat a 3-6 team, give me a break. Did anyone but Golden (earlier in the week hedge) think we would loose?. I still say we finish 6-6. Nothing has changed.

If you all believe thatthe NCAA will take it easier onMiami byself imposing andnot playing in the ACC ch game if they beat Duke

a) you are gator troll haters and arent cane fans

b) clueless liberals who also believe the country is better off under Obama

There is so much complaining on here. Look, Golden is our coach and D'Ofrio is our d-coordinator for now. You can complain and moan and groan and tell everyone that we suck and who cares if we beat USF, but it ain't going to do anyone any good. Right now, a 40-9 win over anyone - I'll take it. Yeah, USF isn't good but we beat them by 31 points and that's what you're supposed to do to an inferior team. Last year, we beat them 6-3. That's an improvement and I'll take it.

532,

Im neither of those. I look at Ohio State who could be playing for a national championship and I think how stupid they were to go to a bowl after a 6-6 season. I have fwith we will be in a better position with a better team next year.

beating a team that is in last place in the "big east" is not something to be proud of. all it does is defer from the real issue that is can golden and company take miami to a top ten tier and bcs game...I say never.... he is too inexperienced and stubborn. he is not at a 12-0, 11-1 or 10-2 type of coach.....darind's post is what you see in a bcs type coach....golden is too mediocre at this point in his history.....he should have a winning record by now.

Golden is doing fine. He's a few wins short of a bcs game now and thats with a bad defense.

fsu beats gators for the state championship then beats GT for acc.....keith bryant will de-commit from UM....2 top recruits gone....Golden to blame. D'nofrio stays for life...Um suffers....sorry thats how it will go down....but keep drinking the golden kool aid.

OK, next two years will speak for themselves.

bs....lane kiffin goes 25-11 at usc after rescueing a program from sanctions....and he might be fired! here we are a brand like miami with bloggers thankful we have Golden/D'nofrio at the helm who gave us a record of 12-11 and the worst defense in ncaa and miami history....unbelieveable....golden would have to go next year undefeated to equal kiffins record to get fired....what insanity

Sorry, any coach gets a minimum of 3 years and possibly four. I know you think this is Miami and all that but those days are over. I love the Canes but they're never going to dominate college football like they did the 80s and 90s. Forget it. They don't have the money or the backing. They can be successful, though, but the way to success is not to fire every coach after two years because a bunch of ill-informed fans on blogs say to. The worst thing for the program at this stage would be to destabilize it by firing Golden. He is going to be THE guy to see UM through the sanctions, so get used to him. After that, it's anybody's guess. Hopefully, we'll be able to put together a solid product by then and at least be relevant again.

Kiffin's record at USC is not the problem, get your facts and information correct. Kiffin, HELLO, is the problem, lol!

Jim Gallo is a loser, Canes4Life...Calvin is a know it all whose opinions are the only right ones, and on other sites calls people names who disagree and puts them down like he is the only authority and the only one who knows what is going on or should happen, lol, the guy is a jerk who lives in the hills and acts like it.

USC has way.more talent right now. If anything Kiffin did a really poor job with his team. And he's always a risk to leave or repeat violate.
