Balanced Eight-Game League Schedule Allows for
One Primary and One Rotating Crossover Opponent

Greensboro, N.C.—The Atlantic Coast Conference Friday announced the football conference opponents and sites for the 2013 season incorporating new members Pittsburgh and Syracuse into the 14-team league. As the conference did in its previous expansion schedule model in 2006, this year’s schedule of league football opponents is entirely a new scheduling model that is not based off the previous schedule.
The complete 2013 ACC Football Schedule, including specific dates, is expected to be announced in early February.
Each ACC team will play eight conference games in football (four home and four away), six games within their division (three home, three away) and two games (one home, one away) with crossover opponents from the opposite division. In 2013, all Atlantic Division members will host their primary crossover opponent while Coastal Division members will host a rotating crossover opponent.
Each school’s primary crossover opponent does not change, while its rotating crossover opponent will change each year. With the exception of Pittsburgh and Syracuse, all schools will be playing their rotating crossover opponent for the first time since 2009. Pittsburgh joins the Coastal Division while Syracuse will compete in the Atlantic Division and the two schools will play each other annually as primary crossovers. The other primary crossovers will stay consistent. The primary crossovers are:
Atlantic Division……………… Coastal Division
Boston College………………… Virginia Tech
Clemson……………………….. Georgia Tech
Florida State…………………… Miami
Maryland………………………. Virginia
NC State……………………….. North Carolina
Syracuse……………………….. Pittsburgh
Wake Forest…………………… Duke
Also, as in 2006, the new model of conference opponents will result in repeat site games in order to balance home and away schedules. This year, taking into account the existing schedule, there will be a total of just six repeat site games, all limited to the 2013 football season.
The games with opponents traveling to the same site as in 2012 are: Duke at Wake Forest; Duke at Virginia Tech; Miami at Duke; Georgia Tech at Clemson; Virginia Tech at Boston College; and Virginia Tech at Miami.
Though the conference is releasing just the 2013 ACC opponents at this time, this schedule model may be used as the basis for a full, multi-year schedule in the future.
Below are the 2013 conference football opponents for each ACC school. The games are listed with divisional games first in alphabetical order, followed by primary crossover (pc) and then rotating crossover (rc) games:

Huge win for Cane BB last night!

Looks a little lite....should be a positive season
Posted by: mark | January 11, 2013 at 12:19 PM
3 non-conference cupcake games, and 1 good game against the Gators, if we don't make the ACC championship game this year we might as well fire Golden and start all over again
Posted by: Joey | January 11, 2013 at 12:26 PM
Yo Cane trash
Yo chUmps U call that a schedule? What's Ur excUse gonna be when U lose 6 games again?
Florida and FSU r the only good team U pansies play.
Pathetic, but guess that a pansie got to play a pansie schedule.
So I hear Cristobal is gonna bring in a ton of recruits. If so why not just make him HC.
Golden Retriever can't fetch more than 2 or 3 top guys as it is. If Cristobal can do better then fire the flea infested dog and promote Mario to HC.
Yo U fools r so pathetic, Cristobal aint gonna help U do squat. U will soon see.
At least that gives Ur off season something to feel good about.
How's the recruiting so far dUmmies?
3 new clUcks in the fold when everyone else has about 20. Some clUck math that is.
Bunch of pathetic LOOSERS!!!

Gators... Im licking my chops
Posted by: canedm21 | January 11, 2013 at 01:11 PM
The schedule seems much more balanced than in years past. They get Va Tech at home again. They will no longer have to play both at FSU and at VT in the same year. Their rotating opponent this year is Wake Forrest.
Home Games:
Ga Tech
UVA
VT
Wake F
UF (ooc)
Sav. Stat (ooc)
FAU (ooc)
Away Games:
FSU
Duke
UNC
Pitt
USF (ooc)
They should beat GT, UVA, VT, WF, FAU, and Sav. State at home.
They should beat Duke, Pitt, USF away.
That's 9 wins already. I think they'll have a chance to beat UF, FSU, and UNC too. But based on this schedule they should win at least 9 games.

09/07:
You know whats coming at you gaytr billies?
here's a sample: Louisville with 30 plus south florida kids including the QB and one of the leading receivers.
THAt is what your mighty turds will be facing. At Miami. Against an angry crowd of south florida folks who despise all the trash youhave been talking
Cant wait. Im bringing some gator tail so I can barb que it inthe Sun life parking lot.

Canetrash there is a reason you live on the street, ytou can't read and you're stupid. We're only getting like 18 recruits and we already have most of them, that's why we dont' have 20 you numbskull, lol.
Posted by: ColaCane | January 11, 2013 at 01:56 PM
W: UF, GT, Duke, Savannah State, Pitt, FAU, UNc ( No Gio Bernard), UVa, VT USF and Wake
L: FSU, VT (maybe)
If UM beats UF they WILL go 10-2 or 11-1
If UM loses to UF they will probably go 8-4 or 9-3
MArk those words.
Posted by: corpus | January 11, 2013 at 02:08 PM
I don't care if the "U" loses all their games but one. Just beat the Floriduh "Can't Compete in the Big East Conference" Gators.

There will probably be more UF fans at the game then Cane fans, primo.

Doesn't Miami play N.D, at South Bend next yr.?
Posted by: Sharkdaddy | January 11, 2013 at 02:57 PM
I think its 2014 we play Notre Dame again but not sure. Really this schedule rivals what the SEC teams schedule. So looking at the schedule objectively Florida will be tough but on paper we should be able to beat them, Florida State will be a tough out since we will be at Tallahasse but they are losing alot of talent and breaking in a new QB although I believe Tricket will be a better QB than Manual at the college level, Va Tech will be better and playing at Lane Stadium is always a tough matchup, and Ga Tech will be better even though they will be starting a new QB this year but we get them at home and D'nofrio knows how to stop the Triple option, so that just leaves Pitt as a possible problem but we should handle them too. Looks pretty good.

Miami plays 2 teams that are ranked in the final Top 25 (UF and FSU) what a joke.
Posted by: gatorsam | January 11, 2013 at 03:25 PM
Yo cane Trash
Yo let me get this straight, U comparing Ur sorry selves to Louisville? Cause teddy and a bunch of UL players r from Miami?
And on paper U should beat UF and FSU?
And the Cristobal hire is gonna bring in an ACC ship and keep all the top recruits home?
Reality check:
U aint half as good as Louisville, the records and the SOS prove that.
Teddy is so much better than Morris, the stats and wins prove that.
U play on the field not on paper dUmmies, and on the field U always lay an egg.
Cristobal was let go by an irrelevant school, he is just a position coach, nice local story but will not translate to any more wins. Maybe an FIU commit will switch to U, what a deal!
The clUck from Cutler Ridge is right about the attendance mix at that upcoming Sept game, Orange and Blue will color the empty orange seats.
Bunch of pathetic LOOSERS!!!

championships - the Va Tech game is in Miami again this year.
Posted by: SunnyDee | January 11, 2013 at 03:57 PM
It's not about WHO U got on the schedule. U just study the opponent and get ready to play. Real players know what I'm taking about.
To tell you da truth, I don't who's in what conference these days.
To tell you da truth, I can't think of one year when UM was worried about who was on the schedule. It's always been the other way around.
What worries me is how UM will fare against all the teams as far as defense goes.
Posted by: 'Cool 'Cat | January 11, 2013 at 04:11 PM
Mario was in the backyard of Dade county (Westchester)for 6 years with Columbus high school right down the street and he couldn't get anyone from Dade including from his own HS.....so tell me why this is a good hire and how does it make sense?
the schedule is very easy.....should pad goldens record somewhat....if golden is less than 8-4 against this pu...sy schedule then EVERYONE gets fired
Posted by: Jim Gallo | January 11, 2013 at 04:32 PM
Cool cat is right on this one.

SunnyDee, hey man sorry about that I just took for granted that we would be playing Va tech on the road because we played them at home this past year.
Posted by: championships is all that matters | January 11, 2013 at 05:18 PM
Gatorsam, when other than Florida State has the Gators or any other SEC team gone to play in another teams stadium that are any good from another conference? Lets see here, only this year when they will play us.
Posted by: championships is all that matters | January 11, 2013 at 05:22 PM
Gallo, U mean this pu s sy schedule like the SEC plays every year? Look man everybody on here with the exception of Tally knows U are not a Cane so go find another team to try and hate on.
Posted by: championships is all that matters | January 11, 2013 at 05:25 PM
Where will Louisville go?
THAT is the BIG issue. Pray not in the Coastal, or it will be FSU/Louisville the next 5 years.

Your spelling the LAST word in your pitiful posting is all anyone needs to know what a MORON you are. However, replying to you is a LOSING proposition, if you can even discern what I just said...I doubt it.
Posted by: IMAWriter | January 11, 2013 at 05:49 PM
Reality is that we all are chasing the same thing and the great thing is we all play each other next season and it will be determined on the field not shitz talking here! The State team that wins 2 games (between The U, FU and FSU) will be the state champion for next year. Can we all agree on that. FYI, I'll always dislike the good ol boy network GAYTORS. How they convince brothers to ride that "NAG" amazes me. Guess there'll always be House _ _ _!!
Posted by: Tampa Cane | January 11, 2013 at 06:05 PM
The Gators had the toughest schedule in the country this year or did you not watch every bowl broadcast when they mentioned this. Why do we need to go go anywhere? To make it more difficult?
Posted by: gatorsam | January 11, 2013 at 06:10 PM
tampa Cane know what's up, it's, if you're a guy and you go to the gaytors, it's a disgrace to be affiliated with that place.
What we do know is this, goldie & his boy oach OH-NO better strap up, otherwise, mario cristobal might be the headcoach in waiting, he already got alot of good headcoaching experience at F.i.u., not to say he's a great headcoach, but he'd definitely know what to do if ever became the head man at UM. He'd bring in the right coaches, i mean i'm real sure cristobal being on staff helps rejuvenate a guy like kehoe who doesn't need much rejuvanation as is anyway.
These other coaches will soon come to realize, UM didn't become UM by being conservative, it became UM by being EXCEPTIONAL at damyum near all positions on the football field if not all of them thru time.
Posted by: Calvin | January 11, 2013 at 07:35 PM
Kehoe and mario will complement each other and it will show on gameday. Mario used to play under kehoe.
we have many strters coming back felons have few, cant wait til that game...hold on...

I'm glad we're playing Pitt again. I've always enjoyed the UM-Pitt matchup. But, who the eff scheduled both FAU and Savannah St. at home? One cupcake I get but 2? Sorry but that's a ripoff for the fan.
Posted by: RichmondVaCane | January 11, 2013 at 09:50 PM
G-sam, any time you play in a conference then it is the equivilant to playing your brother. They know all your strengths and weaknesses so those games are always going to be tougher. The only reason they say they played the toughest schedule is based just on preseason rankings. The SEC have two really good teams year in and year out which are Alabama and LSU. Other than those two Georgia had a good year and Texas A&M had a good year. I give props to your boy Muskrat he did a good job this year navigating to a good season but man he had some lucky breaks. They are about a minute from dropping a game at home to ULL, then they got lucky at A&M, and they better thank their lucky stars Missouri hasn't got a Qb that can throw. I was really impressed by them going into FSU and winning which to be honest with you, I really didn't think they would do. If they and not only the Gators but all the SEC teams would go and play away games that are real away games then that would be really impressive that is if they were to win them.
Posted by: championships is all that matters | January 11, 2013 at 10:23 PM
championships you are an idiot as always....UM put up almost 6000 defensive yards...UM would get crushed in the SEC....
we got crushed in the weak acc....#116 or did you forget. TCU #16 with younger players on defense than UM.....UM struggles next year as well....fsu/florida will crush UM....way too many tier 1 florida players....no way can we compete...
Posted by: Jim Gallo | January 11, 2013 at 11:00 PM
Va. Tech will have a built-in advantage every single season by having Boston College as its primary crossover opponent in the other division. We get FSU.
Posted by: azcane | January 12, 2013 at 12:09 AM
I THOUGHT THIS TEAM WOULD GO 10-2/11-1 WITH NOTRE DAME ON THE SCHEDULE THIS YEAR AND GOING TO LANE STADIUM TO PLAY VA TECH. NOW AFTER SEEING THIS SCHEDULE IF WE CAN BEAT EITHER FLA OR FLA.ST I SEE 11-1 EASY!! THERE IS ALWAYS A GAME THAT IF YOU DON'T PULL IT OUT IN THE END YOU LOSE BECAUSE IT JUST WAS A BAD GAME. BEATING THE GATORS OR FLA.ST WON'T BE EASY BUT IF WE DO IMPROVE DRAMATICALLY ON DEFENSE WATCH OUT. THE GATORS NEVER WIN IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND FSU STARTS A NEW QB. IF EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER DO NOT BE SURPRISED AT A 12-0 CANE TEAM!!
NCAA SANCTIONS OR NOT) THE HIRING OF KAREEM BROWN WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE FOR PORTER/PIERRE AS FAR AS RUSHING THE QB. CRISTOBAL WILL HELP US WITH GOOD RECRUITS. THE CANES ARE HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION LET'S HOPE D'NOFRIO DON'T F..K IT UP! WE ALL KNOW HE IS GARBAGE!! GO CANES 2013 ACC CHAMPS!!!
