Seantrel, Linder, Porter to announce intentions on whether to go pro or stay on Monday

Hurricanes juniors Seantrel Henderson, Brandon Linder and Curtis Porter will announce their intentions on whether they will declare for the 2013 NFL Draft or return to the University of Miami for their senior seasons during a press conference Monday at 11 a.m.

My guess? None of them will be going anywhere but back to the weight room and film room.

None of the players are projected to be first or second day picks in April's draft.

According to NFLDraftScout.com, Henderson (6-8, 340) is listed as the 11th best offensive tackle at his position in the Class of 2014 -- the highest of any junior on UM's roster. But that translates to being a 6th or 7th round pick in April at best if he leaves early.

Linder (6-5, 312) earned All-ACC honorable mention and is the most accomplished of the three. But he ranks 29th at his position in the Class of 2014.

Porter, whose career has been marred by injury, isn't even in the database for NFLDraftScout.com.

College football players who completed high school at least three years prior have until Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, to declare their intention to forgo their remaining collegiate eligibility and enter the draft.

2011 golden takes over:

total defense - 4319 / 23 sacks / 6 INT's / rank #45
2012 golden era continues:

total offense - 5280 / 44 TD's ncaa rank #37
total defense - 5837 / 13 sacks / 11 INT's / rank #116

we pulled the trigger with randy too soon...we had bridgwater..the 2010 recruiting class was pretty good and and if it wasn't for them golden would be winless...also we lost clint hurt who went to Louisville as defensive line coach....how do you think bridgewater ended up there......too many mistakes UM is making.

Sanctions coming ? I say finally, now we can move on with everything. We are going to start building something now that we will have no questions about what will happen. I don't care I am behind this team ,this staff, this university ,this my team and no matter who's coaching they are my team.Go Canes

Jim, reality bites and that's why many here avoid it. You are absolutely right. The NCAA will make sure the penalties put Miami in a wheelchair. The smart option would be to recruit per say a better Defensive Coordinator that can batter make use of limited resources. The NCAA looks at the numbers and know the number of scholie subtractions over a certain time frame it takes to decimate a program while you primary adversaries enrichen theirs. So your penality of 3 years in fact is 6 when you consider the time it takes to rebuild. Since Miami has already proven it can recover more quickly, the penalties will be much more significant.

They will not leave how ever I do hqv3 concerns about this yrs class and lack of play3rs from fl

It wouldn't break my heart to see Seantrel leave, why because he has no heart. He will never make it in the NFL either.

BOTTOM LINE IS GOLDEN IS THE COACH NOW NOT SHANNON AND IF WE ARE TRUE CANE FANS WE MUST SUPPORT GOLDEN AND HOPE HE IS THE ANSWER BECAUSE 7-5 IS NOT CANE FOOTBALL!!!. THIS IS GOLDEN'S 3RD YEAR AND NOW TIME TO SEE SOME RESULTS AND WITH THE SCHEDULE WE HAVE THE TEAM IS PRIMED FOR A 10 WIN SEASON. NO EXCUSES ESPECIALLY SINCE HE CHOSE TO KEEP THAT GARBAGE DC AND DL COACH. THIS IS THE YEAR WE WILL GRADE GOLDEN IF HE FINISHES 8-4 THAT IS NOT GOING TO CUT IT. THIS TEAM IS BUILT TO CHALLENGE FOR ACC TITLE NCAA SANCTIONS OR NOT. SO FORGET SHANNON CANES WIN AND WE WANT HAVE THIS CONVERSATION AGAIN. GO CANES 2013 ACC CHANPS!!!

When I played, alumni gave us money all the time after games so we could eat a Sunday night meal, when the Cafeteria was closed...or go on a date with a girl...or buy gas for my rag of a car. The players that are making colleges multi-millions of dollars each year, should receive a weekly allowance, otherwise they're going to have to get it some other way. What do regular students give to the university, besides their tuition...nada.

Give the kids an allowance for God's sake. Every player should get the same amount, so there's no college with an advantage.

Most of the colleges pay "Professors" hundreds of thousands of dollars, for what? To indoctrinate our kids? Give the kids an allowance.

bob, man I would have agreed with u about Seantrel bac when he was staying a month for a funeral, but I think he has changed some. He was and still may be lazy and if he hasn't changed he will never make it as a pro cause he will be cut faster than he can say he is sorry.

lets move on what do y'all think is going to happen monday with the allegations?
