Here were some signing day comparisons made by UM coaches: Mario Cristobal compared Sandland to Jeremy Shockey; Micheal Barrow called Grace “a combination of Sean Spence and Denzel Perryman” and running backs coach Terry Richardson (who left for the NFL) likened running back Augustus Edwards to Eddie George. ~Barry Jackson

Wow! Wow! Wow! Go Canes

Coach Al Golden told WQAM's Joe Rose on Thursday: "There could be JC kids still available. There could be a transfer or even two." ~ Barry Jackson

Here come the defensive tackles!!! Mature men who will contribute immediately.

You forgot Coley said Ufomba Kamalu reminds him of Kamala the Ugandan Giant.

Receivers coach Brennan Carroll revealed that UM-bound Stacy Coley told UM at one point that he expected to attend FSU. “Terry Richardson and Al Golden flipped the kid!” Carroll said. ~Barry Jackson

Al Golden magic!!!

Former UM offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland left Alabama to join the Philadelphia Eagles staff as o-line coach--the same position he held with the Tide.

Following Gallo's thinking...this means that Saban is not a good coach and Alabama is falling apart...Fire Saban and hire back Gene Stallings.

One thing people got to realize is, including goldie, let's not get caught up in what number these players were so called ranked by these ignorant recruiting sites. I could careless what rank they had matthew thomas at, it was more on principle why i didn't want matthew thomas to leave the area.

Anybody who knows anything about Miami football knows, we got "5 star" players all thru out Dade County and other areas in South Florida, so it's no big deal to us. Those outsie states are the ones that need the rankings, we know ball players when we see them.

Plus, i'll say it again, who's spot was matthew thomas going to take, unless they end up getting rid of eddie johnson, thomas wasn't going to take his spot, he wasn't going to take dzp's spot and he wasn't coming in to play middle linebacker. matthew thomas going to Fsu though only makes this rivalry that much better as well.

While i do like the looks we're giving the runningbacks coaches, it's going to be real interesting to see who comes into the fold.

These "outsie" states, according to Calvin, such as Alabama, Louisiana, Oregon, California, Texas, and Ohio have filled the rosters of 9 of the last 10 national champions. Calvin- its a new world- look at Oregon with all that speed-(not SEC). Golden has recruited his brains off and neither you or any other igaant hater can take that away-because your arguments make ZERO sense!!!

then richardson leaves with coley holding the bag...just like fisch did...like i said...every exit interview with the impact players all said it was the coaches that swayed them..not sanctions like golden and co want you to beieve....

if things were so good at UM...why is all this happening on goldens watch....when you hire someone the first thing you get is how long will this guy stay and be commmitted....these are all his hires and related issues.....

oops.....

RECRUITING IS OVER AND NOW IS TIME TO FOCUS ON SPRING FOOTBALL AND IMPROVING A DEFENSE THAT NEEDS TO BE VERY AGGRESSIVE,DOMINANT,AND CREATING TURNOVERS WHILE PRODUCING SACKS AND INTERCEPTIONS. THE TALENT IS THERE WE HAVE NO EXCUSES AND IT IS THE COACHES TIME TO GET THESE GUYS PLAYING AT A CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL TEAM. JUST BECAUSE FISCH HAS LEFT DO NOT LET THE OFFENSE SLIP AT ALL THAT WOULD BE BAD COACHING. WITH ALL THE PLAYERS WHO PLAYED ON DEFENSE LAST YEAR TO NOT IMPROVE IS BAD COACHING. CAN'T RUSH THE QB! BAD COACHING! CAN'T CREATE TURNOVERS! BAD COACHING! TO NOT HAVE THIS TEAM PRIMED TO WIN NEXT YEAR(ACC) BAD COACHING!!. STOP TRYING TO MAKE THE HURRICANES PLAY LIKE A 1980'S BIG TEN TEAM(SLOW) BAD COACHING!! AS CANE FANS WE ARE SICK OF? BAD COACHING!!! GO CANES 2013 ACC CHAMPS ! UNLESS BAD COACHING!

Easy to answer, Gallo, you dipshyt:

He is cleaning-up the under-achievers and the never acheivers from the Shannon era. Do you think the players you listed would have made Miami a national chamption?

Not even close. You are a fat idiot. Stupid pig.

The headcoach at Edison is one coach supporting goldie's position. At the same time he can't speak for all the other coaches in Miami who don't feel how he feels. It's already clear how ice harris feels. It's already clear how roger harriot feels. It's clear how chevas clements feel, they just all trying to figure out and help to see what direction UM is trying to go in. I can name more coaches but it's not necessary, goldie will meet again with alot of coaches again to get this all straightened out as well.
The sanctions excuse, ok, than why did all the rest of the players come in, because yall think maybe they didn't hear about the investigation. I'm not saying it didn't have an impact but it wasn't what the recruits were saying. matthew thomas and kirkland never brought up the sanctions, all the recruits brought up the "Trust" issue, not sanctions.

Collins, who ran for 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns on 155 carries as a senior and helped lead his team to a district title, said he never wavered on the decision he made Monday night on TV and explained why he didn’t choose the University of Miami. He had been a Hurricanes commitment until November.

He said pending NCAA sanctions at Miami didn’t affect his choice.

People gotta realize, how goldie deals with the players that might get into trouble will have alot to do with how coaches view him to as well. They can't get mad at players because of the social respect they're trying to attain or use the suspensions and kicking players off the team tatics, coaches want to know if when they're players go to a certain school the headcoach is not going to be quick to turn his back on those same players.

jimmy johnson had it down pat and was straight up about it, like he said, "of course i treated my star players different" lol, goldie is trying to treat everybody the same and that's not realistic on a team of 85, let alone a house of 5, he'll learn and he'll get raised the Miami way and if he does, he'll become a champion. If goldie thinks he'll become a national champion doing it the way he's doing it now, it'll be just like it was/is at penn st. Haven't won a national championship since the one we gave them.

exactly....every recruit said it was the coaches....but these blogger are insane...completely delusional....all top guys in either sports or coprorate world get offers all the time with more money.....but they stay, they believe in the companies mission statement but most of all are committed....fisch, richardson, mcdonald all left because they did not believe in UM.....Dnofrio is here because he has nowhere else to go....upper management is totally f...cked up....I still dont know where christobal fits in all this....everyone is making a big deal about alot of juco players while top tier florida recruits go elsewhere......UM got spanked wednesday BAD...

blake is now AD..its all on him now...maybe UM football get burried in the basketball teams success...maybe keep everything as is...be happy with 7-5 or 8-4....get your 35,000 in parking fee's..who knows....it will be interesting to see how blake handles this......passive or active

Can you talk about the situation with Booker T. Washingto and Denver Kirkland?

"The only thing I'll say and I don't believe in airing that out publicly so I'm not going to that. Again, there is a difference between pulling a scholarship and having none left....HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, YOU CONTROL THE SCHOLARSHIPS?

You have an associate head coach and assistant head coach on your staff in Mario Cristobal and defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio. What's the difference?

"I don't know. I honestly don't know. But they have different roles in helping me with the administrative side. Mark deals with the weight room, Mario helps with the social, behavioral, discipline side. He's a good guy to have on the discipline side."....OK GOT IT, MARK IS THE WEIGHT ROOM COORDINATOR....WHERE IS THE DC and who is that?

sorry calvin....i think youre looking at things wrong. look at bama, those kids/men dont get in trouble much. same kids/men from south florida many of them. thats because sabin lays down the law before they even get there. when you get to nice thats when a kid that likes to play in the gray area gets in trouble. if anything golden is too nice not to hard. back in the 80's when jimmie was here kids/men could get away with armed robbery and know one even know. now 2013 you dont get the opportunity to mess up again and again, that will just get any coach fired. there are no undisciplined programs that ever win big, high school college or pros

matthew thomas was so impressed that jimbo fisher came to see him at his house and sat with him....where was golden? where was he on the second visit by kirkland and his parents? where was he when bostwick and his parents came for UM weekend?....none ever saw him. I will tell you what he has in mind....he really dosent want to recruit, I bet deep down he hates it....he will lean on mario/barrow and coley..they will do most of it.....bielema started to recruit collins persoanlly when he was a junior.....

Calvin don't be blind or act dumb, you know well AG has to be strict with these guys with the NCAA looking for any excuse to smack us, plus it's for their own good.

Stop criticizing AG in the inner city and spreading misinformation, ICE Harris has done enough of that 4 self serving reasons. This was a rare down year in Dade, we got what we wanted except 4 MT, we didn't need DK. FSU may have done the same thing but we didn't find out about it, I find it strange that he picked Ark. at the last minute.

ok bloggers:

tell me what these guys did with the exception of finnie?

keion payne
devonta davis
jeremy davis
ray ray armstrong
thomas finnie
gionni paul
travis williams
jamal reid
kelvin cain
Vaughn telemaque
tracy howard
eddie johnson
curtis porter
luther robinson
darius smiwhat was so bad that they either got dimissed from team or was diciplined before key games

mario your an idiot......the inner city now hates golden....ask harris/luther.....watch stong-bielema-fisher clean up...

Love me this 2013 recruiting class!
Olsen AND Coley, among all the DB & LB studs?
Damn I can't wait for spring.

Coach G had his hands tied behind his back by the administration...self imposed penalties...limited visitation and limited scholarships....I believe, that Thomas and perhaps Kirkland would be Canes if not so!

Bottom line....still a very good, complimentary class and looking good down the road as far as any impending NCAA penalties!!! The U has paid a BIG price.....but is still looking good down the road. Thank you Coach!!!

Mr. Gallo, it is obvious you have an intense dislike of the UM program. Why is it then, that it seems you do so much research, you know all our players, listen to press conferences, watch our games...and are on these blogs CONSTANTLY. I can't go a day reading this blog without having to put up with comment after comment after comment, all saying the same thing over and over.

You've posted 7 times between 3:48pm and 6:14pm.

Seriously?
You're like my 4 year old daughter, who just will not stop talking.

Do you have any friends?

You can always spot the All-knowing Calvin post because they mostly begin the same:

What people got to realize......
People need to understand......

Blah, Blah, Blah, Goldie, Blah, Blah, Blah.....

Just STFU Calvin. You don't have superior knowledge of the inner workings of college football, recruiting, etc. You're just some dips**t with a keyboard.

Let me simplify for some of you new guys here attracted by all the recruiting drama:

1. Gallo?calvin are the same person
2. They pretend to be UM fans and have the program's best interests at heart. They are just troublemakers.
3. They are the ultimate 1 beat drummer. Have one "fact" about defense, recruiting, coaches, etc.

For example, Gallo claims Golden can't hold his staff. Anyone over 5 years old with an IQ over 10 knows that college asst coaching jobs are stepping stones to OC/DC jobs, NFL position jobs. If you don't have staff departures, its because you have a bad staff.

D'Nofrio must go! While we did recruit some really good players missing out on a DT brought the "meet the needs" way down. Word is from the camps where the top players attended, that D'Nofrio sucks as a coach. Like the old saying goes, don't hire family or friends, D'Nofrio is Goldens handicap! Without the big uglies up front to wreck things, we need a DC that can scheme and recruit!

Tampa cane i agree
good players but we need some BEEF in the midle pf that d line

Not signing a couple big time DT's is direct reflection on the DC! If he can't recruit, clearly has demonstrated he can't coach and now word is through high School circuit he sucks as a coach! Why is this guy still on staff? Golden give all the youth speeches he wants, but D'Nofrio is handicapping the defensive effectiveness overall, player development and more importantly RECRUITING!

WE AS DIE HARD DEDICATED CANES FANS MUST START THE "D'NOFRIO MUST GO" MOVEMENT!

WHO'S WITH ME?
