One more for the road: Former UM Canes QB Jacory Harris is now an Eskimo! How cool is that?

 Just learned this Wednesday:

Former UM Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris has signed a contract as an "import quarterback,'' according to a release by Edmonton.

As per club policy, the team stated, the terms of the contracts are not released.

   Here's the info from "Esks'':

 Jacory Harris

Quarterback (import)

Born: May 12, 1990 – Miami, FL

College: Miami

Height: 6.04

Weight: 195

"A three-year starter at the University of Miami, Harris racked up 8,826 passing yards and 75 touchdowns, including five rushing touchdowns, ranking him second in school history for yards and touchdowns. In 2011, he won the Offensive Most Outstanding Player Award. The year prior, he won the Community Service Man of the Year Award. In 2012, Harris attended mini rookie camp with the Miami Dolphins and briefly signed with the Philadelphia Eagles."

"Edmonton acquired quarterback Mike Reilly from the British Columbia Lions last week,'' a former colleague emailed to us, "which could figure into Harris' chances of making the team."

    Regardless, congratulations Jacory! Bundle up.

Now you've renewed Cool Cat's hope that Jacory will play in the NFL.

I was so glad when he graduated from UM....thank goodness Shannon is gone too. I have good feeling about Al Golden, we need to be patient and let time show that what he is building is correct! UM for life!

The great thing here is that Jacory is getting a chance and he fulfilled all 4 years of his commitment to UM. I am proud of him for that. I have never seen a more maligned quarterback at UM even though his final stats were quite good. He does have a mind of his own though, and sometimes that mind wandered in dangerous directions.

By the end of his career at UM, he reverted back to the guy who forgot risk and through reward whenever he threw the ball. I am thinking his final few games at UM. He has tremendous talent though and throws a great ball at times. He was a Heisman contender at one point but he Sponged Bobbed himself out of it.

I'd like to see him prove to everyone that he was just going through a stage in his life of growth. Canadien football is a good place for him. Think Warren Moon. He had some bad things happen at UM. He played Wisconsin in a bowl game when JJ Watts was a pass rusher and UM had no left tackle. I always felt he was an elite talent who just was on a team that never jelled like they should have. I wish him the best.

Sjmparman. You can't teach ignorance nor can you make a noodle arm strong. Glad japickey is gone and he hurt us all four of his years.

Reality you really are a Hurricane fan.

Up at breakfast and posting.
You must live at this site.

No really a secret Hurricane fan.

Tod ya we would get ya.

Go 'Canes

Its so sad the level of disrespect shown by many for these young men and women who give us all they have when representing The U! It is the coaching staffs responsibility to take raw talent out of high school and grow that talent. I am a RS fan but the truth is he didnt grow his players. Sure he was handed the reigns in a tough situation and had to find a certain calibur of player, but facts are facts. He didnt get the job done. Honestly, I wish he would come back as a DC to get our defense back on track and highly rated. Unfortunately the administration and how they handled him probably burned that bridge. Jacory is a great kid. He played his best and gave us his all and I am glad he has an opportunity to now grow as a QB in Canada. Hopefully they can teach him to read defenses better, put some size on him and maybe he can work himself into a chance to tryout again for the NFL after a few years.

Jacory Harris could have been a great player at the U if he had better coaching. I blame Donna Shalala for hiring Shannon which set the program back.

Good news I hope he gets noticed...and moves to the nfl. Pat nicks destroyed his career at UM. He better than most people think. Just needs to get stronger.

Yo Bernard when you talk to Donna Shalala why was she caught taking a picture with Shapiro and taking money from Shapiro. The Santions is are the reason that Miami is behind.. Randy has been gone 3 yrs now.
Find some one else to blame.

im glad he is not att he u J12 Sucks. He wont make it far!!!

We wish him the best!

He will lead the canadian leaugue in interceptions. I will put money on it

Good luck, JH12!!!

Stat wise he was second all time at Miami.....too bad so many picks though. Other then that he was pretty good.

SAD TO HEAR HOW J12 STILL GETS BLASTED BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS COACH SHANNON DONE A TERRIBLE JOB OF DEVELOPING THE TALENT. J12PRETTY MUCH STAYED THE SAME SIZE AS HE CAME IN AND THOSE TERRIBLE OC DIDN'T HELP EITHER. JEDD FISCH HAD HIM ONE YEAR AND HE HAD HIS BEST YEAR AS A CANE. I WISH HIM WELL AND I HOPE NOW THAT COACH COLEY CAN HELP MORRIS CONTINUE HIS GROWTH AS A QB BECAUSE IF MORRIS PERFORMS ANY BETTER THAN THIS PAST SEASON HE JUST MAYBE A SURPRISE HEISMAN CANDIDATE. DON'T BE SURPRISED, HE HAS THE WEAPONS AND COLEY IS A VERY GOOD GAME PLANNER.
GO CANES 2013 ACC CHAMPS!!!

You know what happens when Joke-Ory plays in the cold.
You think he knows where Canada is?

holly Crap please stop bashing players and coaches unless you are actually coaching or playing at higher level then the person you are bashing...if you think your better then j12 you would still be playing but your not...if you think your a better coach then how come you are not coaching in college or the nfl? this type of bashing helps your self worth or the canes how? OMAB!!!!!

Again it's the coaches responsibility to grow the talent! JH has the raw talent and a decent arm. He just needs someone to help him grow in size and his understanding of the game. This is a good stepping stone for him to learn to read defenses and come back in a few years and possibly do his thing in the NFL! I am pulling for him. Now lets talk about today! We saw growth offensively this past season. Some inconsistency but overall the offense grew as the season went on and got better. With such a young group had the week off come a week or two earlier we could have healed and won a couple more games. 8-4 or 9-3. I expect growth to continue offensively. On the defensive side of the ball is where we need to grow and see marked improvement.'they were young last season, I will give that. This year one year wiser, battle tested and hopefully some gains in size and the weight room. If our D can get its act together and assuming no major unexpected sanctions, the U can own the ACC and without the cloud over us will have a better opportunity to bring more talent in to get us to the next level! Go Canes!

I Wish Jacory Harris All The Best !!!! Ms. Mitchell
