« New UM Canes football roster: Eddie Johnson's name removed from roster | Main | Miami Hurricanes' spring practice has sprung: Harlem Shake, crutches and black jerseys »

Football is upon us! Miami Hurricanes release first depth chart for spring practice -- mostly based on offseason program

Could it be football season already?

Not exactly, but it's the closest thing Hurricanes fans will have until fall camp opens in August.

University of Miami coach Al Golden released his first depth chart Friday going into the start of spring practice (at 9 a.m. Saturday and closed to the public). Please keep in mind that the first depth chart is mostly based on the offseason, UTough strength and conditioning program. For example, Golden's first spring depth chart two years ago had Spencer Whipple as the No. 1 quarterback, followed by Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris.

Per UM: Eight players will be held out of spring practice: LB Thurston Armbrister, RB Eduardo Clements, LB Eddie Johnson (suspended indefinitely), WR Malcolm Lewis, WR Robert Lockhart Jr., C Shane McDermott, DL David Perry and LB Gabe Terry.

Here it is, folks (AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CURRENT DEPTH CHART IS THE FINAL DEPTH CHART OF LAST SEASON):

I wouldn't be surprised if Canetrash is Dom.

U guys have no life. If your not fans of Miami, why come on here? U just look like little 15 year old idiots that have no idea of the U tradition, something UF and FSU only wish they could have......

Miami fans are excited that we have no weaknesses on offense at any position, going 3 deep. qb, rb(duke, elder, edwards, clements, dillard), TE(Sandland,Walford,Cleveland,Dobard), Oline, Wr's Coley, Griffin(espns #2 and #3 overall wr's)and #1 wr in fl and tx, Dorsett,Scott,Hurns, and anther 5 deep.

We do have about 9-10 DT's, 4 in the last 2 classes, the Seniors, and 5 Star Jalen Grimble who is now a JR n should have a breakout year. Add Muhammed the speedy DE off the edge, and we have a strong Dline. Last year we played our bottom 4/5 guys at DT, BIG DIFFERENCE.......Oh, and LB depth plus High School All American Raphael kirby healthy, Perryman, Johnson,Gaines,Grace and the list keeps going.

When you ignore idiots they tend to go away. Can't hide my excitement for spring U football! Hoping a few will emerge at DT. If we can elevate to the top 30 in defense then it'll mean, based on last season, probably 10 wins. With another good recruiting class with a few DT's (3)we'll be on the right track.

Glad we got rid of most of those busts...Vernon Davis didnt like competition, his coach said that. ""when is he gonna play with all the talent golden brought in"" and the rest were mainly shannon busts.

Anyways, too bad all fsu's coaches quit on dumbo. 1st off, he doesnt let his OC call the plays, he did, a bit of a control freak?? 2013 Canes, 12-0 PRESS ON

More Gallo lies and pointing out only two...

Eddie Johnson is on the Canes roster.

And Gallo claimed on another thread that Collins went to Arkansas due to the 2013 schdule...not anything to do with Coach Golden.

This Gallo moron can't keep his lies straight...and his wife has the same complaint about his mini pecker.

never said that.....Collins went to Arkansas because of the coaches....I was suggesting that if I were him I would want to be in SEC to show my talents...

Eddie Johnson is suspended indefinitely.....he will transfer I am sure....most players don't like golden anyway.....remember the duke Johnson tweet when christobal left. He said he didn't know where the team was going to end up and was concerned...golden really is way over his head....keep drinking the Kool-Aid....

You absolutely did say that Collins opted for Arkansas due to Golden, then later went with the story Collins became a hog because of the 2013 scheduling.

Now, in your latest lie filled post, you have taken a Duke Johnson tweet completely out of context and created yet another BS story to attack Al Golden.

You also cliam that most players do not like Coach Golden, which qualifies as one of your all time ridiculous lies.

You are filled with lies, more lies and topped off with manure.

UGo. I realistically think 2014 will b our year, when duke and tracey and deon are jr's, 1 more top 5 class since so fla is loaded this year and 1 more yr experience for this sophomore DT's etc.

Do we have a chance at pulling off no dame 12-0 with the schedule(UF VA TECH AT HOME), yes, but I agree that 10-2 would be a great yr because it means acc champ game n poss bcs game and gets the experience we need for a playoff run in 14

Gallo Howard was in the 2012 class hows that Randys players? And golden has been here 2 years, so of course some of shannons players are stll here. What are we morons??? TEAM IS LOADED THO

Funny you would think I care how many pathetic losers spend their time trolling the internet, as if the number of losers and the quantity of their garbage reflected on UM's program at all.

No, the reason I believe you to all be the same person is that I can't imagine that there are multiple people in this world that pathetic.

And I still don't.

Do Fsu and UF know how much talent they lost? I dont believe UF , having to add 30 players, is in a reload mode and urban bailed on them due to that... I see UF taking step back this year, going to have to play alot of freshman, if Driscoll gets hurt they are doomed since jacobi left, and FSU is in a similar position but is replacing Manuel also.

And once again the #1 DB in Florida, the guy Al Golden signed away from Florida on signing day, is a "Al Golden casualty".

You wonder why NO ONE here believes you're an actual person.

Gallo Said: "never said that.....Collins went to Arkansas because of the coaches"

Yet, in your post above you call Collins a Golden casualty.

Seriously, do you ever stop lying?

None of us Cane Fans care about recruits that go elsewhere. They didnt bleed orange and green, good riddance. More than half the recruits flame out anyway. Not 1 of us on here ever bring up losing those kids. Golden lost collins and came right back and signed 2 better backs. He lost thomas and came right back and signed the #2 olb in so fla Grace.

All is well

find it then post it.....put date on it also for verification then....

golden likes to punish the workhorses of the team....he has issues with players questioning him....that's the sign of a weak leader.....

what did Johnson actually do to be removed from the roster?

wronggggggg the top defensive backs in Florida went to the gators....

#2 rated Florida athlete - Vernon Hargreaves DB - gators
followed by the #7 Florida athlete - Mackenzie alexander DB that went to clemson

matt goudis?....they guy has had 1 punt the whole season for 37 yards....he is also the kicker?...lol

don't plan on making any field goals....

Everybody, except multiple personality Sybil/gallo/et al:

We vow to skip over Gallo posts and never respond to them. We really can't be concerned that Mom won't let him upstairs. When you think of it, who can blame her?

Simple. Don't read 'em. Then no reason to ever respond.

I am skipping over Gallo, he doesnt make any sense. Especailly when the Canes roll over muschump in sept.

Good, Dom. That's 2. All aboard to improve this blog and starve the basement boy Gallo. Ignore anything he writes. Never respond.

golden is destroying this team....Eddie Johnson should transfer as much as I would hate to see him leave....he doesn't deserve this embarrassment especially from a mediocre coach that still has not have a winning record....

his parents need to intervene now....have his high school coach makes some calls....all the good players don't get along with al golden....

facts. How could Collins decide to go to Arkansas because of the schedule when national sighing day was the 4th and the schedule was put out a few days ago?....the best

Dissapointed that EJ is not on the roster. I do beleive we will beat fla convincingly only if the coaches do their job in dissecting that tape of fla getting dissected by Louisville. That should be the number one priority this offseason since we have a soft schedule. Fla has a lot of turnover and lost a lot on defense. Floyd and Elam leaving are huge.fla struggled with bowling green at the beginning of the year. They are vonerable and its time to serve them.

Again, jim gallo = Canetrash = Reality Bites.

They are the same person. He's been here for years. He's not a Miami fan, not even a Gators fan probably, just nothing else to do with his life.

Gallo, you festering boil, do you think Nick Saban or any other successful coach allows their players to question all of their decisions/commands. Your stupidity is begining to elevate, which only speaking for myself I believed to be impossible for you to achieve.

Can't you just see it...Nick Saban calls for an 8:00am practice or sends in a play call and several of his players first want to question him...LMAO!

Man, never worry about these cry babies in here, they can either talk football or keep riding our sacs, i could careless, it's not like me and gallo are making up what we've been saying about goldie and his crew. Bottom line, start playing defense and winning games like we should and are use to and earn his right to be the headcoach at UM, than we'll support him, right now, he's an outsider trying to find his way, until than, he's going to get blasted for being in a shoot-out with duke.

52 points and you still barely hanging on in the 4th quarter. The sooner we get rid of the 2 "cherish to love" NON-defensive coaches the better off we'll be!

I could careless about who eddie johnson is challenging to a fight, be it coach or teammates, that's a guy i want on my team if he's doing that. ej44 is a guy jimmy johnson would luv to death, cause he'd know exactly how to channel that mans energy in the right direction, which makes me think, what the hell does goldie have a psychology degree for if all he's going to do is keep kicking people off the team!

I'll take 10 more eddie johnson's on defense, that man's a fighter, he belongs on defense! Also, no time to kick eddie johnson off the team, what the hell goldie cried out to alumni for if he's not going to use them. let irvin, ray lewis, darrin smith and a host of older Canes holla at eddie johnson first, that's the only committe that needs to be formed, that'll help keep alot of these players focused. To kick eddie johnson off of the team now would show imaturity on coach goldie's part by not using the full access to the resources around him!

for all you guys that think Randy left the cupboard full. Did you see the NFL combine? I watched the recap show in which they highlighted the best 5 to 8 players at each position. No Canes.

Where are you guys.. We beat the Gators last night in BB for the first time in a while and not a word.. Beat Writers????

If you have almost 20 starters coming back then you probably won't have that many players goin to the combine.

Facts:

this is what Alex Collins said....

"I like the fact they run the ball," Collins said when asked why he picked Arkansas. "I personally know the coaches. I've been recruited by them for two years now. So I think I can trust them. I feel like they can lead me to where I want to be on the next level, academically and athletically. I feel like if I have a problem in school they'll provide that extra help to lift me."

he doesn't trust golden/dnofrio....he was a lean to fsu but when the running back coach left that was a concern for him....he doesn't like a lot of change, so when jedd left...that sealed the deal with Collins....

why is Eddie Johnson out? why is Alex Figueroa in who hasn't taken a snap yet?...

why are all these guys being held out from spring practice?
LB Thurston Armbrister, RB Eduardo Clements, LB Eddie Johnson (suspended indefinitely), WR Malcolm Lewis, WR Robert Lockhart Jr., C Shane McDermott, DL David Perry and LB Gabe Terry

#1 Denzel Perryman - 45 solo / 19 assist = 64 tackles
#3 GIONNI PAUL - 40 solo / 21 assist / = 61 tackles

the guy is 3 tackles away from the top spot for UM all of 2012 and he is mysteriously gone?...no explanation.....

golden will never work here at UM...this area is not for him....plus all the local coaches will not channel their graduates towards UM..they hate him
