Bucs draft RB Mike James in sixth round

Mike James, rushed for career-best 621 yards and 6 TDs on 147 attempts as a senior for the Hurricanes, got his name called in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

The Bucs plucked James with the 21st pick, 189th overall. He was the 18th running back taken off the board.

James was the second Hurricane to be taken in the draft. The Rams drafted cornerback Brandon McGee in the fifth round.

The Hurricanes have now had a player taken in the NFL Draft 38 consecutive seasons.

lol, if that's True, that'll be the only time somebody can point to a time where we've turned down a chance to play somebody just for the sake of turning them down. It was understood with the F.i.u. situation, but we should've jumped at the chance to play lsu, but we all know we got with coach goldie, he's losing credibility with me for the mere fact that he's making moves for this program based on the fact that his boy clown 117th can't coach a defense to save his life so coach goldie knows playing lsu wouldn't be a wise move.

You'd think he wouldn't mind doing it since by than the defense will be full comprised of his seniors, juniors, and redshirt sophmores. If he had confidence that our defense could play against anybody, he would've been glad to jump on that opportunity, but instead his consistent crying about how tuff a schedule is but wasn't, that sounds like the coach goldie i know.

Also, even if we were breaking in a new qb, that's how you want him to start out, than you'll see what they really got in em. To much "soft tape" stuff going on round UM these days that don't coincide with what people know about UM. How we go from being known for some of the greatest defensive players to ever play their positions JEROME BROWN, SEAN TAYLOR, sapp, ray lewis, ed reed, and the many others who's play wasn't to far off from those levels to being a team all of a sudden now hovering around the bottom of college football.

I don't want to see us play to many teams with athletic offenses anyway, because we'd be the one getting out ran, we've gone from always being one of the fastest defenses to being one of the slowest because all coach goldie and oach OH-NO want to do is focus on weight & strength gains on the defensive side of the ball. Anything to try and help his boy keep a job, it's a sad day when somebody is doing that at the cost of the program.

This is why coach godlie has no credibility when it comes to trying to hole players "accountable" when he doesn't hold clown 117th accountable but just consistently makes excuses for him. It's one thing to be young, although "self inflicted" on defense but we're not getting beat on defense most of the time because of youth, it's because we're lined up wrong pre-snap.

Can't blame the players, because it's obvious that the linebackers have been asked when covering the slot wide-outs to line-up on the insode hash mark, so all teams are doing is taking the outside wide-out and have him run a streak route and the inside receiver just runs a 7 to 8 yard out route, open almost all day.

Playing this style of defense will not get us to an elite level like we're use to seeing. notre shame got destroyed and that defense while not impressive to me i do know that it was a real solid defense and a strong defense against most teams. Now if they're satisfied with consistently being 2nd best than that's what it'll be.

That's why when we played them, i kept laughing because we were attacking their defense the wrong way after the the dropped passes, all we had to do was use mike james a lil bit more.

Who cares....we play Nebraska that year....when do the the TURDS EVER....start the season with anyone good?

Turds opening opponents since 2006....

2006 - Southern Miss & Central Florida - National Championship....hmmmmmmm ******
2007 - Western Kentucky & Troy
2008 - Hawaii & Miami - National Championship....hmmmmm....******
2009 - Charleston Southern & Troy
2010 - Miami of Ohio
2011 - Fla Atlantic & Alabama Birningham
2012 - Bowling Green

Canes opening schedule since 2006....

2006 - FSU, Florida A&M, Louisville
2007 - Marshall & Oklahoma
2008 - Charleston Southern & Florida
2009 - FSU, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma - (Yeah....like the turds would even have the bal*s to schedule like we did for 2009...haha)
2010 - Florida A&M & Ohio State
2011 - Maryland & Ohio State
2012 - Boston Collage & Kansas State

So...you tell me what looks more impressive on paper. I think its safe to say had the Turds scheduled some "tougher" opponents in 06 & 08....perhaps they don't have a chance to play for those two titles. Actually....I'm convinced...are you a ware that they had at least one loss in both those seasons but still played for the championship while there were other undefeated teams in the top ten that did not get a shot. Never an undefeated season?

EVER?

WITH ALL THE TALENT IN FLORIDA...NEVER A UNDEFEATED SEASON....

WOW.......

The blog Pig, errrrrr Soldy, errrrrr...blog Pig is dreaming of Vagotis. Mmmmmm, I be you boys had some good times, no Piggy?

Thats right Yellow belly- And UM already had Nebraska on the schedule- what part of that didnt you comprehend? Or is your trailer trash diploma making it difficult?

Now hear this all you cane apologists and delusional wannabes.
It is 100% true and certifiable the canes under Golden Balls are running form competition.
Sprinting as a matter of fact. As in not me, no way, not now or ever more.
Now some typical dumb cane took offense to the fact that the game that will not be due to Golden cowardice was to be held at a neutral site.
This poor sap complains that Houston is closer to Baton Rouge than to Miami.
As if Houston, Texas could ever be considered home for LSU. If you are referring to potential travel time for fans, there would be no problem getting the 2k cluck fans to Houston in a plane.
The Golden plan, run from competition and maybe we can manage a winning season at last.

As if Houston, Texas could ever be considered home for LSU.

Houston ONLY took in a quarter of a MILLION Louisiana refuges after Hurricane Katrina.

Why does everyone have to spew out so much hate. I AM A BORN AND RAISED, BLEED GREEN AND ORANGE HURRICANE FAN. There are plenty of teams I grew up hating, and still don't like, but the amount of hate from the STATE school fans is ridiculous. Is it still envy from the 5 national football championships? Or is it championship envy since UF and FSU football championship total sum is equal to that of the University of Miami. As an alum of the University of Miami, I learned a very important thing regarding football in this state. CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS.

University of Miami - 5
University of Florida (3) + Florida State University (2) = 5 National Championships

REMEMBER GATORS AND NOLES BRING THE HARDWARE WHEN YOU WANT TO BRAG!!!

Problem is blueeyed cluck that your hardware is dated, as in older than a decade, as in ancient. This is the 21rst Century, this is the BCS era. What do you have to show in the modern BCS era? Losing. Not even playing for a NC, not even close, not even showing up at the ACC ship game, ever.
Florida and FSU have had much better success in the 21rst Century.
This is the new normal.
It shows with the win loss record and on the field results, your are pathetic. Like the #117 ranked defense. And no players drafted in the first round for 5 years straight. That is your kind of streak now.

And the latest, running from competition. Starting this year with a pathetic schedule and on next year already refusing to play LSU.
Facts don't lie
The Golden Plan unfolds

I don't blame AG for turning down LSU . Taking a first year Qb on the road to play one of the best defenses in the country basically a home game for them . We are not to that point yet but we will get there , whether or not AG is the coach or not I don't know , but I wish we could do it this season with a veteran QB I would like to see them try to stop us this year. We are not in the SEC so we would not get the same treatment if we had a loss in the season as they do . It would essentually end any chance we might have of an NC if we lost . And by the way one of the best players to ever play for the Gayturds just got cut from the jets so would stop trying to brag about your draft picks , I am very dissappointed that my dolphins took three of them because the average pro career for a gator is about 6 months.

First year QB? Who? Ryan Williams will be in his third year....so will Dewey & Crow....not starters....I get it....but still....in a college system for quite some time already.

Another absolute Masterpiece by Soldy breaking the duh U's utter mediocrity so even dumb Canes can understand. Not they'll ever admit it though.

BRILLIANT Coach Sod!

.

There are REALLY STUPID people on this blog. We had TWO guys go into he draft because we ONLY had TWO SENIORS you blithering IDIOTS and a few juniors who were smart enough to stay put.

2012 Miami Hurrican Football Roster...

http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/roster/_/id/2390/miami-fl-hurricanes

And []_[] are El St[]_[]pido Example 1-A Coca Cane... 2 Seniors huh ? Try 12 Seniors on the Miami Hurricane 2012 Roster. []_[]r Juniors were smart not to leave early huh ? Well []_[] had 29 Juniors... TWENTY-NINE Juniors on the roster and the reason why they didn't leave early was that not ONE would have even been sniffed at by NFL Teams to even consider to draft. And YES, that includes []_[]r NON-All-ACC 1st. or 2nd. Team Q.B. #17 Morris that []_[] fools are touting as a 1st. rounder,(if he improves his accuracy by not throwing to Backs feet and 10 feet over the WR's heads)in next years draft. Fact is Lame Cane Lima Bean Brain, is that []_[] had and STILL have ZERO Upperclassmen that are Top-Rated prosects. ZERO. Out of those 12 Seniors and 29 Juniors, all []_[] could get drafted was 2 ? TWO ? AND ZERO FREE ANGENTS SIGNED !!! No Wrongway Botts or Toast Telemac ? Or are []_[] going to claim Ray Ray, "THE NEXT SEAN TAYLOR!!!" now as []_[]r 1 and only F.A. signing ? And out of those 29 Juniors, how many sent their paperwork in to inquire as to where they might be drafted if they decided to enter the NFL Draft early. How many ? Yup, []_[] guessed it. Another FAT ZERO. Including Lard Arrzzzzee Seantrel. And that's because []_[]r entire []_[]pperclass st[]_[]nk. And []_[]r all fired up about []_[]r "Young" Freshman and Sophs. ? []_[]r 2012 Class of 30+ players had maybe 5 that were offered by Top Schools. That leaves 25 that NO TOP SCHOOLS even looked at. And this last 2013 Class, which is putrid in overall numbers, has maybe 5 guys that could even compete in the SEC. []_[] Canes are Hilario[]_[]s with []_[]r certifiable []_[]nreal Del[]_[]sional blindsightedness. Tell me, on []_[]r Defense, how many Pro prospects do []_[] have? No D-Linemen, maybe 1 undersized LB and a saftey ? On offense ? ok maybe a couple of linemen, a WR and 1 RB Tops... 6...7 overall prospects on a 85 man roster ? []_[] collosal d[]_[]mbassse Canes, Teams like Bama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, S.Carolina, FSU, Ohio-State, USC, Oregon have that many NFL prospects that were Red-Shirt scout-teamers and will be BACKUPS in 2013 !!! Sure, []_[] used to be there over a Decade ago, but those days of []_[] stockpiling Top Talent are LONG GONE...

Just be happy []_[] play in the Weakest Conference in ALL of College Football and that will afford an Avergage team like []_[]rs to compete and Play in the Conference Title game from time to time. Even though []_[]'ve yet to make it there(ooohhh yeah, I forgot, []_[] were Coastal Champs !!! last year right? After UNC whipped []_[] and were ineligible.)... Just remembered, []_[]r players jumped into the stands and celebrated after barely beating an eventual 7-7 Coastal Champs Ga.Tech team ? If that doesn't tell []_[] all []_[] need to know, then there's no hope for []_[]...

Remember this... The SEC had 63 Draft Picks !!! TWO FULL ROUNDS ! The SEC EAST alone, 31 picks and more than []_[]r ENTIRE ACC's 29 !!! And if there were no ACC-FSU, that # would be a GRAND TOTAL of 20 Picks in the ACC overall and by FAR the worst of ALL Conferences... TWENTY picks from 11 ACC Teams not named FSU !!! Ohhhh Yeahhhh All []_[] Cl[]_[]cks, some real Big Boy Football []_[]r participating in there.

In closing Coke Head Cane... Only 2 Seniors huh ? Yeeeaaaaahhhh Riiiiieeeet.

bwt-how's that Hoops team looking for 2014 ? Cane Pingers after a 12-0 start ? Lemme guess, BC is an up and coming Baseball Program huh ?

Yo Manny n Susan, where's that Miami Cane Free-Agent Signings Blog ?

Well guess that Williams Dewey and Crow might as well be Hewey Dewey Pswey cause evryone assumes there will be a 2014 frosh starting @ QB for the canes.
Could it be Olsen of Under Armor infamy?
Don't matter who it is he won't face any good competition. Not in practice and not in a real game until the FSU game comes along.
The Fins know better than you GeorgiaClown.
Kudos to Soldy for an excellent breakdown of the 2013 draft .
Cowardly canes springting away from competition.

sprinting, that is.

Actually....Turd fans....its actually a moot point as next year will be a playoff year. So...it really does not matter in my opinion who plays who or when. All you need to do is get in the Final Four for a shot to win it all and that's all that should be cared about.

Ok yellow belly Ibis You know as well as I do that Gayturds dont last in the NFL (Not For Long) when your talkin about Gayturds. Emmitt Smth is the only one I can think of that had a long career , and you broke out the name calling too like the intelligent genious you are . Good one ,Wow that stung. Ga Canes

The only person that I want gone in any sport is Jeffrey Loria and he owns the team, so I hope that he sells the team and I mean soon. Now as regards UM, Blake James needs to take a serious look at the baseball program and it's leadership under Jim Morris.

Coach Morris has won 2 championships with the team and that does account for something, even though the last was 12 years ago. The situation is though that this program (which was a powerhouse a whole decade before UM football was) is now an after thought in the ACC and is celebrating wins over Bethune Cookman. Bethune Cookman, are you kidding me? The low point this season had to be to lose 2 games to Boston College. The thing is that Boston College did not win any games in the ACC till they beat UM TWICE this weekend!

Again, not saying Morris needs to go, but something either recruiting wise or coaching wise has to change, UM football and basketball are on the rise, while UM baseball is in a free fall and is falling way behind the pack in the ACC and nationally.

Congrats to Mike J. Not the most talented, but a real class act to say the least.

Holy sh*t you are a sad and scary person.

Coach goldie has already proved he's to aoft minded to coach here. If it is True lsu wanted to play us in the first game come next year at a neutral site, goldie should've been the 1st one to say, no, we'll play them at lsu. Those are the type of games that help with recruiting, this guy goldie cried about the schedule this year so i can definitely see him turning that game down.

Also coach goldie is losing my respect because he's putting protecting his boy oach OH-NO/clown 117th above the program, this is onw of the main reasons he'd turn those games down, cause he has no faith in his boy's ability to coach and that's surprising because come next year, the team will be stocked with alot of juniors he recruited, alot of sophmores and redshirt sophmores and with the shannon guys on defense like curtis porter, luther robinson and shayon green, along with jimmy gaines we should still be one of the tuffest defenses.

Again, since goldie doesn't hold his boy accountable for the bad defense heree, he can't hold each insivisual defender accountable.

yellow ibis- you are one dumb piece of s*t

"This is the 21st century"
"FSU and UF have had more success in the 21st century"

Did your mommy keep you tied up in the closet of your trailer the last 10 years? Ah ?

2000-
2001- Bestcfb of all time. beginning of the 21s century
2002- Robbed of a third NC
2003- Beat FSU in the OB, ranked 5

---its still the 21s century loser....

2004- What happened in the Peach Bowl?

Just stf-u jealous, petty little loser. Maybe youshould just come out like Jason Collins and post it on the internet

Hey thar cane fans, I er just wanna say how many championships Florida has. We still betttern youins team we in the sec . Think about it look how we er chopped up that big least team louisville. Did you ins checkout r er spring game we loaded up the bottom row. We are so excited about the upcoming year. 6 online men cane clucks. Count em 6 yourn team has no depths. We recruiting getting all the good s fl talent. We loaded more talent in the nfl boys. Look how good we r ? Ourin best qb in history is all over sportscenter boys. And Driscoll gonna be better n yourn qb Morris. Once he learnin to throw that thar out pattern. Mumschamp doin big things boys he recruitin bettern yourn boy Goldie. He been takin shot of moonshine then recruitin fire out cha boy. Wherein the sec boys read and weep. You ins can't hang

Oh er we so hot boys we gave away tickets to ourn spring game. Mumschamp was on fire cane clucks we so excited. You ins shoulda seen ourn 6 online uh runnin around showin off depths. Boys sec sec sec sec sec sec. Boys read um and weep.

Mumschamp boys he a drunkard. Messy har red nose. Mumschamp giving in 2 to 4 hundred dollars boys to every recruit. Look how smoove Mumschamp be boys Come up to uf boys way bettern youins Miami come on up sec sec sec sec shot o whiskey sec sec sec vodka sec sec give em another high life sec sec sec

Calvin I don't believe going to LSU and getting blasted with a new starting QB will help recruiting , it would be another tool for the SEC to try and use against us .Like I said if it was this season it would be competitive but I dont believe you break in a new QB against an LSU defense with good results.

Georgia you are wrong, you have been name calling for a while: gayturds? And you complain because I called you clown? Do not be so sensitive. There are many former Gators in the NFL they "last as long" as any other player does what kind of moronic generalizations are those? That's like saying any cane taken by the Fins in the first round is a bust because of Yatil Green. Remember him? You may resort to that kind of stupidity, I don't.
What is true and certifiable is the undisputed fact that Golden Balls is running from competition. I believe he said so himself when he talked about this current schedule. And then the turning down of the LSU game is another prime example.

9>5>2, take a chill pill, why get so angry? Truth hurts so much? Your argument is the same as the other cane dolt who insists your D was ranked #116 instead of #117. So last time you were good was in 2003 and not in 2000, no difference, still a very long time ago.
And the bit about playing a soft schedule don't matter when you have playoffs will only work if no other team has the same or better record than you, so you better be undefeated and hope no one else is or else you will be left out.
Being a cowardly team that runs from competition will not work, to be the best you have to play the best. That is where playing in the SEC is such a big advantage. So here it is for your pleasure:
SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC

6 oline men boys. Better yourn

The SEC just keeps getting stronger and stronger. The rest of the country may be sick of the football dominance of the conference and to that I say, tough. When the SEC West and the SEC East each have more players drafted than any conference, it's just ridiculous. It not only shows you that the SEC is getting the best players, the conference's coaches are developing them. And that's why it's going to continue. Look, the streak has to end sometime as far as national titles goes, but SEC coaches have been walking into recruits' homes for years telling them to come play in the best conference in America. Don't you think they're going to walk in now with the NFL Draft numbers in their back pockets? The draft is simply going to perpetuate SEC dominance. If you add the players who signed as free agents, there will be more than 100 new players from the SEC in NFL camps.

the SEC will inevitably bring about cries of that conference being overrated or a "media creation," which is funny, silly and about as wrong as you can imagine.

If we needed another indication of the SEC's dominance over the rest of college football, how is this: Counted separately, the SEC East division and the SEC West division had as many or more draft picks than any other conference in college football.

Yes, the SEC East had more than the Big 12. The SEC West had more than the Big Ten.

The only competitor was the ACC, whose 31 draft picks last week were tied with the SEC West. The SEC East had 32 draft picks. The Pac-12 was next with 28.

So, obviously, the SEC had more than twice as many draft picks, at 63, as any two conferences put together. Those 63 picks in one draft is a record for a conference. Might as well move the NFL draft from New York to Atlanta to cut down on travel expenses for the players.

It was obvious early in the draft that the SEC was going to have a great week. Of the first 99 picks, 33 came from SEC schools. The pace slowed down in the later rounds to let the Big Ten, Pac-12, ACC and Big 12 catch up, but just a little. The SEC ended up producing 24.8 percent of the players selected in the entire draft. If the never-ending streak of BCS titles didn't prove the SEC's dominance, those draft stats probably should.

And as everyone knows, the SEC is still getting all of the top talent. The Rivals' recruiting rankings from the class of 2013 look like the league standings. What can you really say when Vanderbilt has a higher ranked class than Oregon or Texas?

This year's draft was SEC heavy, and expect the same next year, when South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney starts the parade of SEC players to shake hands with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

The SEC being as big a part of the NFL draft as it is the BCS Championship Game isn't ending anytime soon.

When the SEC West and the SEC East each have more players drafted than any conference, it's just ridiculous.

.

The SEC WEST only had 31 players Drafted which was tied with the entire ACC, NOT MORE !!!

Truth remains the same....

Hey yellow belly I'm not comlainig about bieng called a clown by someone who calls himself yellow belly . The term Gayturds is a term used on this "Canes Blog " so technically you should not have even seen that if you were on your own . The term you used was an actual personal attack , not that it bothers me it was just an observation on my part . As Far as UF players are concerned you might want to look at and compare the Qaulity and the Qauntity of players compared to UM , multiple hall of famers , pro bowlers etc. Not even close.Championships , UF not up with us yet , are NCs are in the past , but so are yours. I do agree that the SEC is the best conference but that does not change the fact that UF quit playing UM whuich is running from good competition , it's pretty convenient that UF reschedules us while we are down , where were you when we were king?

U R Foolish Turds.... is a typical cane ignoramus who picks and chooses a few games to compare to his canes and try to make them seem better than they are. He neglects to mention the rest of the games against top SEC competition and only focuses on the 3 or so yearly cupcakes the Gators play.
It is very simple, when your schedule is dominated by soft and pansy ACC foes, you must schedule some good OOC teams just to come out average.
When your schedule is dominated by the top teams in the nation in the SEC you take a breather with 3 OOC pansies and a good OOC rival in FSU.
Georgia "clown" is as mild a "personal attack" as they come. I've been called way nastier names in the past 3 days so it is what it is.
UM still has the quantity, that stems from the NC teams in the 90s and the 2001 team, but those guys are getting pretty long in the tooth, soon they will all be gone and you will have very little.
As far as quality, since that 2001 squad came out the Gators have had as good quality players drafted as anyone else.
We really don't need to play you just like I said above, and right now, you are no good competition anyway. Why don't you play FIU?

That you're a sad and scary person with absolutely no real life outside the internet.

The gaturd fans spending day and night on this board is amusing to say the least. Fans of a huge state school camped on the sports blog of a small private school. How many Alabama fans do you think troll a Samford blog? How about LSU fans trolling a Tulane blog? Not many i bet. Then again, Lsu and Alabama aren't 1 and 6 the last 27 years against those teams with less titles to boot.... The REAL sec teams laugh at you!

Again....the reason we saw Timmy Tears a few years back....the REASON you all lost to Bama that year was that you played NOBODY challenging. Your schedule and comp in the SEC was not that great (as u think). At the end of the day...the SEC is all about Bama, Georgia & Jadaveon Clowney....plain and simple.

You diss the ACC however....you lost to a Big East team in your bowl game....the Big East IS NOT the ACC.

Gators are like Bama and LSU while the canes are like Samfrod and Tulane. Pretty good comparison, not bad coming from a cane clown.
Of course the Big East is not the ACC, they are much better. FSU is the only good ACC team. Clemson and Va Tech show up sometimes.
The canes belonged to the Big East when they were the worst conference. After the canes left the Big East got better and the ACC remained crappy.

...the SEC is all about Bama, Georgia & Jadaveon Clowney....plain and simple.

And Florida, LSU, and TAM and So Carolina. Those are the Big6 top dogs. 6 teams.
Then you have Vandy, slayers of their corresponding ACC foe, Wake Forest.
Vandy a bowl team. Vandy won their bowl game. Something the canes haven't been able to do for the past 6 or 7 years.
These 7 SEC teams routinely destroy their respective ACC foes.

At the end of the day...we will settle this on Sept 7th...there is a reason were 8-1 against you the last 30 years....question....prediction?

Canes 38
Turds 17
