D'Onofrio, Coley provide thoughts on Spring Game

Sometimes when you watch a game it's hard not to just trust your eyes and rush to judgement. It's like stealing the ball at half court and having the lane completely open for a slam dunk.

When it comes to spring football games, though, you can't just call it like you see it. Schemes are simplified and in UM's case Saturday with the game being televised on ESPN3 coaches made sure to keep things pretty basic on both sides.

Mark D'Onofrio's defense ran two coverage schemes -- basic man and zone. But really it was a lot of man coverage without any blitz packages, he said. Offensively, James Coley didn't want show anything either.

The difference: he had Stephen Morris, Duke Johnson and a set of receivers who are clearly better than anything UM has in its secondary when it comes to old-fashioned, beat your man one-on-one football.

And that's really what we learned from this scrimmage. When it comes right down to it, Miami's offense is way ahead of the defense. Luckily for D'Onofrio he'll get to be creative when the season starts. Plus, more help is still on the way.

"We wanted to get the guys out there and challenged a little bit, get some matchups, put some guys against some guys -- some of our corners -- that weren't going against the 1s and find out if they could do it," D'Onforio said.

"It's good to see the guys [in vanilla scheme]: Can you beat a block? And can you cover somebody?" D'Onofrio said. "At the end of the day it's not a call generated scrimmage where you're putting them in position to do something or giving them some type of advantage. At the end of the day it's can they beat the guy across from them. It's a nice way to do it."

Morris pretty much showed everyone why his senior season could be special. He picked apart a mixed collection of UM starters on defense, finishing 13 of 23 for 256 yards and four touchdowns -- all that without a healthy Allen Hurns or Phillip Dorsett out there. His backups, meanwhile, showed just how far behind Morris they really are. Ryan Williams, last year's backup, finished 10 of 25 for 123 yards, 1 TD and two bad interceptions. Gray Crow did nothing to take the backup job away from Williams either, finishing 2 of 8 for a mere 50 yards.

"I was pleased with some of the execution," Coley said. "We had the thought of throwing the ball deep today and we did it. The other scrimmages and stuff like that we we're looking at other schemes and stuff we put in [installed]. This was probably an old school type of deal. You're in pro formation and either running the ball or throwing it deep. I liked how some of the guys looked out there. [Rashawn] Scott looked good. Stephen threw the ball really well and [left tackle] Flowers blocked unbelievable. When I wanted five yards I went to the left side for five yards."

Scott, suspended for the final three games of last season, pretty much took Tracy Howard's lunch money on a daily basis this spring. Howard wanted a one-on-one matchup with him again Saturday and just couldn't ward off the 6-2, 204-pound receiver, who by my set of eyes was clearly the most impressive receiver on the field this spring. Saturday he finished with five catches for 94 yards and two scores -- both on Howard.

"I don't know what he did in the past. I just know from when I got here his focus level -- he's been challenged everyday and he's responded," Coley said. "I like him. I like 'em big like that."

> Sophomore receiver Herb Waters had three catches for 50 yards and a score before leaving Saturday's game with a shoulder injury. He was in a sling for most of the second half.

"He's fine," Coley said. "We got a look at D'Mauri [Jones] a little bit. He made some nice catches. That was a blessing in disguise. We know what we have Herb. He's had a solid spring."

Jones finished with one catch for nine yards. Redshirt freshman Jontavious Carter had a much better day. He led the team with five catches for 113 yards -- including a 48-yarder in the first quarter where he left starting corner Ladarius Gunter in the dust.

As bad as UM's corners looked Saturday, D'Onofrio said he isn't worried about his top three -- Gunter, Howard and Antonio Crawford. But that doesn't mean he's not looking for help.

"I think its improved," D'Onofrio said of his secondary, which ranked 102nd in pass defense last season. "I'm still looking for some -- we're trying to figure out the fourth, fifth corner situation. We got some guys coming in that will help us out in that area. I'm looking forward to Artie [Burns] to coming in and playing corner and see how he competes with some of those guys. I feel good about Gunter. I feel good about Crawford. I feel good about Tracy [Howard]. [Nate] Dortch (beaten plenty Saturday) had a good spring. He had a couple on him today. I thought he improved. We'll just keep looking and see where we're at.

"As far as the safeties goes, Kacy didn't play today. He was out the whole spring. We look forward to him coming back. Jamal Carter is coming in. We're looking forward to building some depth there."

MORE NEWS AND NOTES

> Linebacker Denzel Perryman had two tackles (one for loss) and two interceptions in Saturday's scrimmage. But it's clear coaches want him to raise his game this fall.

"I'm looking forward to Denzel making a lot of progress over the summer," D'Onofrio said. "I think he's capable of playing at another level than he played with this spring. I think that comes with preparation, the day in and day out competing that he's capable of. I have high expectations for him. I'll continue to challenge him because I want to get the most out of him I can."

> Freshman linebacker Alex Figueroa, praised plenty by D'Onofrio this spring, hardly made a dent in Saturday's scrimmage. But there's a reason. "He's been nursing an ankle for the last 2 1/2 weeks," D'Onofrio said. "He's a tough guy. He fought through it. He didn't miss any [practices] which says a lot. He got a tough injury in the ninth practice, before the Naples scrimmage. We limited him some, but he never really missed any time."

> Will Saturday's defensive effort sway D'Onofrio from saying this was a good spring?

"Not at all," he said. "I thought guys did a great job. I thought we had a really good spring. Again, today we broke up the teams. So on defense we were broken up. It wasn't necessarily the first team or second team defense. We had a lot of mix and match in there, not necessarily a lot of guys who had played together in the spring. [The other two] scrimmages is where we controlled it. We tried to take a look at the top of guys. We didn't get past maybe 16 guys who were in there one time.

"I was really pleased -- particularly the second scrimmage. I'm really happy with where we're at. We'll look at this tape and look at the individuals. But kind of how this spring went, very happy with where we're at out there. Guys did a great job."

> Dallas Crawford had three catches for 33 yards and nine carries for just 19 yards and a touchdown Saturday, but it's safe to say he's earned the job as Duke Johnson's backup this spring.

"I love Dallas. Dallas gives so much," Coley said. "He's a guy that can play a lot of things for us. He's the guy."

> Tight end Beau Sandland, UM's most hyped new arrival on offense, finished with three catches for 30 yards Saturday. Although he didn't have an overwhelming spring, Coley saw progress.

"It's always hard when you're learning a system," Coley said. "You got to play fast because you're playing against faster folks. Now he's picking it up, processing it and starting to play fast. And guess what spring is over with. Let's take that over to fall and hopefully he'll get going."

Hey Calvin, how do you not realize that everyone agrees with your main opinion?

Everyone dislikes D'Onofrio, everyone would like to see him replaced, no one has confidence in the defense, everyone knows it will take a radical and seemingly unlikely turnaround for D'Onofrio to keep his job.

But everyone except you sees that Golden is a decent head coach and that UM is finally headed in the right direction after a decade under two inept head coaches.

And that's why everyone dislikes you. Not because anyone defends D'Onofrio in any way, just because they see reality and you're making up a bunch of negative bullish*t to try to convince people of something they already think.

Calvin like I said it's a spring game and know one is supposed to be ahead of the other. I am not defending our DC . There are plenty of other DCs I would rather have but right now he is ours and I back my team ,when they cut him loose I wont be on here complaining about it. I just don't understand what you all think you gain by coming here and spewing negativity, recruits read this stuff and if you were a Canes fan you would be here showing support of your team whether you totally agree or not . Because no matter how negative you are it will not change the coach but if you supported your team maybe more recruits would be excited about coming here so your not doing your part to pull for your team. I bet you never go to games and complain about how empty the stadium is.Go Canes

And cool cat posts the mostracist, dumbest posts in history

Lol ken dorsey is overrated because?
He took kenny kellys jpb bc kk sucked a55

He was 38-2 as a starter

And what gino had no one to trow to? Neither did vinnie or bernie?

Cool cat you are too stupid to be a human

Maybe you arent human

Hey geniuses

UM coaches wont show their hands here

Duke iwill one day win the heisman
Rashawn Scott is the next Andre Johnson
Hgens is good
Dnzel Perryman is q beast

Idk how to use dallas crawford needs to get the ball in space

The problem is, because the offense looks good in practice, it will be OK. But the truth is, they are practicing against one of the worst defenses in college football. So to look good, means very little. look at the games against teams with good defenses last year, the offense didn't show they could ompete. This program has a long way to go. On both sides. Defense alot more. In the good ol' days, a long time ago, each side practiced against great competition. Making them ready for anyone. So don't think this offense is as good as the hype, it's just that until they PROVE IT AGAINST A QUALITY TEAM. I hope I get to eat these words, especially agains the turds.

This man knows his football and spoken like a True Cane, glad to see another poster with a real mind of his own. He's definitely not one of those "support any and all coaches until they're gone" that's like saying coach pannuzzio should've still gotten our support after at least 5 years of coaching a piss poor special teams.

D'Onofrio should try convincing us all that the tooth fairy is real. His defense is terrible and it looks like we're in for a long year.

I'm not on here to be liked, i could careless who does or doesn't, if goldie is going to continue to sacrifie this team for the sake of his boy oach OH-NO, time for him to GTH on too. You guys think goldie is the best thing since sliced bread, the real people look at goldie as an outsider until he becomes part of a national championship team in Miami, he'll be viewed as such, he must first cross that threshold in order to become a real Miami Hurricane and right now, since his boy is the major weak link that doesn't challenge are offense that will force them to go to the next level, this whole team will have a false sense of security as to how good they aren't.

When a team has confidence because the offense is leading the way, that's not a strong team. We'll see what happens when we go up against the gaytors who it sickens me to say this but for the first time i can say they're playing more physical football than us on both sides of the ball although this year i think we james coley calling the play that should change. But they're playing downhill defense like we always played.

How come shannon took a defense with several True freshman and a bunch of sophmores(spence, brandon harris, forston on it and went toe to toe with the eventual national champions for 3 1/2 quarters here we are going into the 3rd year of this scheme and people are still hoping we can actually play defense again here, that's not Miami football.

As an outsider until he wins a championship?

Schnellenberger, JJ, Erikson, and Butch were outsiders kid.

Coker and Shannon were 'family'.

For people to say this is a spring game so the schemes were vanilla, somebody needs to inform oach OH-NO to get out of spring mode once the actual seaon starts, when you break basically all the defensive records for being the worst defense ever at UM, trying to convince people you're holding back in a spring game only works for those who don't know football. If our defense can't stop our offense, that's not good sign.

The defense is normally always ahead of the offense, especially when a new oc is brought in, but here we are going into year 3 and clown 117th is still getting torched in practice. 3g saying they're going to be better on defense this year gives me no confidence, now do i think he'll be better as a player individually, i can agree with that but when you're trying to make speed players power players, it's going to make for a real slow transition.

///////////////////////////////////

All of these coaches were outsiders until they became a part of a national championship team. Although years, once butch became the headcoach here, he knew the blue print from being on staff prior too and during the championship years. So again, until goldie wins a national championship here, not a back-door 7 & 5 record fake coastal division championship where even he knows and the players know they backed into which is why they had the half-hearted claps while coach goldie was trying to sell it to them.

If goldie was real he would've just said "hey, i know we self imposed and gave up an opportunity to play in that acc championship game, but as men, we didn't truly earn that right to be called coastal div. champs, next year, let's go head and win it like real Miami Hurricanes and that's on the field" that would've put the team mindset in the proper place and goldie wouldn't of had to whisper it. But for resume building purposes he wouldn't to say "something that has never happened before"

That's the mindset that people like me, gallo, Cane fan 72 and the likes know is b.s. and is not UM football. Right now, we're looking at goldie trying to be a better headcoach than saban, kelly or oscar cryer, and his best hope is to be like kelly from notre shame who our team defensively is trying to pattern themselves after by being some type of 3-4 team, but it's not working. I don't like how tyriq mccord is looking out in space, but again, as some would like to say, oh they're college coaches ao theyknow wht they're doing.

When you're sitting at 117th as far as i'm concerned, they're only 3 spots better at coaching defense than almost everybody on this board.

CAlvin

You a dumba55

All your points are stupid.

None of your points make sense

What is "UM football"? You mean, Jacorry throwing 4 ints including a pick six? Randy Shannon sitting on the sideline moping and wasting time outs? Please

And for any one of you Malcolm X wannabes tocrictize or rip on a former UM QB that brought UM to glory means that either
a) You are racist POS,s
b) You are clueless
c) you are gaytrs
d) you are buckeyes

Are all of the above

Calvin- Your "critique" ofthe Spring game shows really how dumb you are. Spring games dont show all we got- You cant because otherwise you'd be givenrival teams film. Did you know that you rocket scientist? So please lay off that scheming BS because its just plain boring and stupid.
If you made a rational point I could see that but you don't.

And finally- one thing you and your brother in stupidity Gallo never admit-

U coaches including Donofrio are just starting their third year. So for you panzies to criticize their first and second years, given the garbage mentality and garbage attitudes that players had under Shannon means you two are re-trds.

Don't []_[] Cane ClUck Kooks know that everyone presently accused awaiting trial and convicted in jail are ALL INNOCENT ?

[]_[]r Daddy NCAA has []_[] right in their Crosshairs and they are going to Nail []_[], not just because what #1 Cane ClUck Fan Nevin claims, but ALL those years []_[] ran wild with Ur false swagga BS in multiple sports over decades all within years of another having already been on Probation.

Silly, silly cane fan...

And when they lower the BOOM, U'll whine and cry how nobody likes U and it's all a conspiracy against U.

Just what about, minus the denial, being a habitchual offender, in multiple sports, while already being on probation and then being a multiple repeat offender within 5 years of Ur last offense over the last 20 years since the mid-90's do []_[] not Understand ?

That's what U'll WILL get nailed for. No matter if it was 10 violations or 100 violations. $1,500 or 1.5 Million in illegal benefits, the FACT that those benefits are within the Window as a Muliple REPEAT offender will doom U. It's the pure definition of "Lack of Institutional Control." It makes ZERO difference if U admitted and self imposed, which U did (ie- U be gUilty). All the NCAA was deciding and waiting by taking their sweet time was wheather or not they were going to kill U or just cut off all Ur limbs. And what U have self imposed, just 2 Bowl games, the backing into the Coastal DOES NOT play into it(U'll see) will be nothing compared to the at least 2 more years Bowl ban and the KILLER. HUGE !!! And I mean HUGE Scholarship reduction by 10 Schollies a year for 5-6 years. That will absolutely cripple U well into the 2020's. That's when U'll finally realize U will then be the Black Knight from Monty Python's, Holy Grail, laying on the ground still talking swaggaless smack how U'll BE BACK !!! ...

And don't U forget that the NCAA recently passed a NEW Much Stiffer Penalty Policy that went into effect just last month... And let there be no doubt, []_[] will be their First example and Poster Child...

But U go right ahead and keep poking the NCAA Lion with a stick and continue to deny, deny, deny... Nothing to see there Riiieeet ?

Silly, silly Cane Fan...

Hey, Pig, Vagotis was a crap coach. And the fact that you can recall the old coaches pre-Schnelly means you are an old inbred cracka'.

Right, Pig? Got spot on. Go back blowing Vagotis. I hear he was a switch-hitter just like your fat wife.

Check his posts at 2 and 3 AM. Reeks of an old piece of garbage that has to get up in the middle of the night to piss. Just like an old bag of crap, right, Pig?

Maybe you can blow Vagotis......again. For old times sake, you sick pig.

Gino Torretta should throw 40-45 T.D. Passes to Andre Johnson and Malcolm Lewis will score on every pass he catches as Defenders will be flopping all over the field like netted Mullet and DUKE rushing for 200/4 Td's a game this Season as we'll average at least 60-70 points a game !!!

If we can just keep opponents under 55-65 points a game, I see a 14-0 ACC and National Championship Season !!!

Go CANES !!!

Calvin how are you Gallo , and the other Gods gifts to coaching not coaching somewhere and winning the NC? I mean you guys know it all and have all the perfect schemes and know how to evaluate talent. The fact that you never have a positive thing to say gives away what your intentions are with your posts so save all the crap . And as far as standing behind my coach until he is not my coach yeh until I have the power to fire a coach I will. Go Canes

Saban, Howard, Jimmie, Erickson, Butch, Soldy, Brodsky, Stevens, Hubbard, Vagotis and even Clappy would have NEVER gone for that mocked, contrived, staged, madeup, feel good, rah rah, silly Bush League Middle School crap... Other Coaches and Programs around the Country are Laughing their @sses off at that Joke of what is a serious rehersal "game".

Listen to this Golden guy... Dude has U all Hypnotized. Just like Capt. Clueless and Clappy before him that []_[] ALL Raved about right up til the other 5-7/6-6/7-5 shoe fell on Ur collective empty, brainwashed heads !!!

Really Goldy You have spoken to all the coaches I assume ? F$$king idiot .I think you have an extra chromazome moron .Go Canes

BTW Not only was Steve Walsh smart he was 24-1 at the U with the lone loss being at Notre Dame 31-30 and that was won on a blown call by the ref who admitted as much in a SI interview after the game!

Calvin who? Calvin what? I think the Calvin is really Alvin of the Chipmunks! But he doesn't know football quite as well as Alvin but a good imitation at the very least.

Agreed. From hereon on, we shall refer to calvin as Alvin (of the chipmunks fame)

I have no problem with the show put on by the canes. The spring game is supposed to be a family friendly fan-based event. having Romberg, Gino and Andre do a play was spectacular. Only thing better would have been ray Ray, Blades and Ed Reed running onto the field on defense!

The real work begins now. behind the scenes. In the weight room, film room and in summer conditioning. There are basically 4 months until the season starts. bench presses, squats and dead lifts MUST go up, players must get bigger and stronger.

CAnt wait for 09/07. Thatll be a sell out guranateed.

cAlvin is mad because he peaked in high school. Now he lives his life through the 18-22 year olds playing college football at UM. He's a serial LIAR and like the NCAA tries to collaborate his own opinions. He tells others who agree with him that they know football and are independent thinkers. He gets called out on his lies and doesn't answer. He won't admit when he's wrong. He likes to paint guys as victims instead accepting that they are responsible for their own actions. He exaggerates to try to validate his points. Pretty sad character....

Bingo, Jim. We have a winner.

7 win season here we come!!!!!!!

D still sucks

If Golden doesnt get rid of his clown DC he needs to be let go

Listen to this Screwball Muschamp the bagman guy... Dude has U all Hypnotized. Just like Capt. Clueless and Clappy before him that []_[] cowardly Gators ALL Raved about right up til the other shoe fell on Ur collective cowardly empty, brainwashed Gator heads !!!

i read comments on here all the time. and to all the people that post nonsense on here ALL THE TIME. WOULD YOU JUST GROW UP.... AND find something else to do. the only reason they keep doing it.... you guys keep responding and that's what they want.

Get off quick ! The 2013 NCAA Train is on the same tracks heading []_[]r way !

You all can blame ME for the increase in Gator troll traffic and posts....they seem to get very enraged and animated after I always post the following FUN UFelony facts!!!!!

Once again.....drum roll.....

Urban Meyer the Liar Ohio Hire
Tiimmy Tears on TV
Bama beatdown
Bulldog beatdown
Louisville Romp in the Swamp
65 plus arrests.....
Muschump with the $400 Fist Bump
Never an undefeated season (SERIOUSLY?)
1 win over THE U in last 30 years
The U....multiple wins including bowl wins ...

Talking smack....right until kickoff!!

Question: How is it possible....that a school in the state of Florida....around all this talent....over the last 100 has never mustard an undefeated season?? Seriously....how? I almost feel sorry for them.

Jim: your just another kool aid drinker....UM has done nothing since if it had it would have the stats and data to support its accomplishments.....but there are none.

golden is a weak/mediocre coach proven by his inability to manage his staff.....dnofrio should have been fired but he is still here....we have systematically depleted the team of good players since golden believes they are ALL expendable. He throws away experience with this rookie belief that he can capture it in some freshman...

lets see what happens next year but I will be curious to see what the kool aid drinkers say when UM loses both the Florida/fsu game......lets me guess..."it takes 3/5 years to build a team" lol.....

golden and company will never be successful at UM....he doesn't have it

he is 40-45 and 28-20 conference....how do you lose 20 games against very mediocre to poor teams.....1 to 2 point wins against some teams that are 1-11 or 2-10

Gallo, only thing you've ever won is the repetition award. And no, it isn't good for that unit extender you've been hoping for. Gotta stick with the 2"er.

when the data changes or improves, Ill report it then, until that happens the data stays the same...

U just don't want the facts illustrated because it contradicts your bias narrative.....sorry green pea.....in the end

no stats = no championships..you can have one without the other...its a dynamic of success

IT'S JUST SPRING BALL BUT TWO THINGS I CAN SAY THATS A FACT. 1. CANES WILL BE A BETTER TEAM THIS YEAR RECORD WISE BECAUSE OF MORRIS DEVELOPMENT AND COMMAND OF THE OFFENSE THAT WILL EQUAL 8 WINS BARRING ANY MAJOR INJURIES. WITH THE SOFT SCHEDULE THAT MAY EVEN EQUAL 9 WINS. 2 NO MAJOR INJURIES HEADING INTO THE FALL WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON YOU DO THINGS BASIC ON DEFENSE IN THE SPRING. NOW HERE IS WHAT MOST OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW FOOTBALL DID NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO WHEN WATCHING THE SPRING GAME. THE DEFENSE WILL BE BETTER! WHY? WTF DO I KNOW? BECAUSE WHAT I SAW WAS JUST HOW CLOSE THE GAP IS CLOSING WHEN YOU LOOK AT HOW THE DB ARE TO THE WR. KEEP IN MIND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HIT MORRIS AND THE DEFENSE ONLY PLAYED BASIC. WHAT I SAW WAS TIGHTER COVERAGE WAY MORE THAN BLOWN COVERAGE THAT IS KEY WHEN YOU DO ADD BLITZ PACKAGES. ALSO IT'S NO SECRET THAT THE CANES STRENGTH IS THE OFFENSE AND THEIR OFFENSE CAN BE AS GOOD AS ANY IN THE COUNTRY! WELL WHO GOES AGAINST THAT OFFENSE EVERYDAY! SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THIS CRUMMY DEFENSE GOES AGAINST AN OFFENSE NOT CLOSE TO WHAT THEY GO AGAINST IN PRACTICE? DESPITE PLAYING TERRIBLE DEFENSE ALL LAST YEAR THEIR ARE NO KSU OR ND ON THE SCHEDULE THIS YEAR. THE ONLY TEAMS THAT POSE ANY SERIOUS THREAT IS FLA,FSU AND NC.VT BUT NONE OF THOSE TEAMS ARE ANY BETTER OFFENSIVELY THAN WHAT THIS CRUMMY DEFENSE SEES IN PRACTICE EVERYDAY SO THE DIFFERENCE WILL COME DOWN TO CAN THEY STOP THE CANES? NOT FOR FOUR QTS!! NO WAY! WITH AN EXPERIENCED QB WE HAVE THE EDGE. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG COACH DUNNO HAS WORK TO DO BUT IF HE CAN SIMPLY BE CONSISTENT WITH SACKING THE QB AND FORCING TURNOVERS THE CANES JUST MAY GO 12-0 WITH A LITTLE LUCK. MAKE NO MISTAKE THEY WILL WIN MORE THAN 7 GAMES THIS YEAR. THE QUESTION IS HOW MANY MORE 1-5? ANY THING LESS THAN 10 WINS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! GOOD SPRING CANES!!

you cant predict a "fact" before the even happens.....

name the teams and years that we are talking about....what year bills, Clemson and Texas tech?

lets look at the stats and what those teams accomplished...without even looking I will guarantee that the stats were good that year and better than the previous year...UM stats have gotten worse since golden got here....not 1 area that can be measured is better..NOT 1

If we dont win 10 this year Golden needs to be let go for not letting go of our crap Defensive Coordinator

Artie will make his presence felt immediately in the secondary but we do need to get more aggressive upfront an guys really need to step up because this team has the ability to be a BCS contender but only if the dline mans up an plays like there hungry

You do know that the team with the best stats is not the winner right? There's a lot of circumstances and luck involved as well . Go back in history mr fact checker in college football ,NFL whatever and the team with the best stats did not win it all so make a list about that. Go Canes

"no stats = no championships..you can have one without the other...its a dynamic of success"

I guess ol' crooked fruit Gallo never heard of the Buffalo Bills who racked up impressive stats but never own a championship.

Ditto Boise State, Clemson, and Texas Tech. You see, green pea, you are a fool. A maggot. The blog Pig. You know not of which you speak.

Comprende, Gallo, you clown?

Gallo/Calvin/The Curse are all one in the same and post the same lies over and over again and when proven wrong they simply repost the lie again.

nobody is saying anything about "the best stats".....don't spin it

stats are THE most accurate model for success....deny until you die....could care less since it is what it is....

#117 means a lot.....have more kool aid

It is funny that golden has not put first team offense against first team defense in scrimmage.....who care if is on ESPN 2 or U.....teams are not looking at this now, lol

gallo, he's right, goldie in 2 years at UM without having to rebuild 13 & 11 after being a 5 year headcoach elsewhere. So goldie is going into his 8th year as a headcoach and hanging onto his boy clown 117th. His star won't be shinging to bright if he looks like dog doo-doo this year as a team. THe mis-use of the front 7 is our biggest down-fall.

Yo Cane trash

Amusing to see all the infighting between U clUcks

Yo delandcane is added to the very short list of level heade and logical cane fans.
The rest of U delUsional doUches conveniently forget Ur so called great Offense was completely shut down by FSU, KSU and ND last year.
Ur O could B worse this year for the simple fact that U have a OC who may or may not B good at calling plays and U have also new WR and RB coaches. Lots of turnover at the top of the only good unit U have.
Ur D has lost the #2 and #3 leadung tacklers from last year and will replace them with high schoolers.
They should B as bad as last year.

Yo the bit bout opposing Ds allowing Lewis to score TDs on purpose is very funny.

What will happen when Duke runs into the wall?
What will happen when Morris is rushed and reverts to Jacory like behavior?
Tune in Sept 7th to find out.
Tune in mid June to find the NC2A hammer the habitual offenders and out of control clUcks.

Can U say LOOSERS!!

Playing to much zone-coverage with press-man athtletes is a waist of talent. No matter how fast artie burns is, he'll be asked to play 10 yards off his man to as well. Than it was funny watching coach p.w. get torched by brennan carrol, looks like the db coach can't even run his own scheme/technique.

Amusing to see all the infighting between U cowardly Gator clUcks

Yo gators-are-clowns is added to the very short list of level headed and logical Gator fans.
The rest of U delusional Gator doUches conveniently forget Ur so called great Offense was completely shut down by every team you played last year.
Ur spineless Gator O could B worse this year for the simple fact that U have a OC who is not good at calling plays and U have also new WR and RB coaches. Lots of turnover, like your d-line coach quit when it was proven Muschamp is a college football bagman at the top of his field—at least he’s good at something.
Ur D has also lost most everyone from you pathetic D from last year and will replace them with high schoolers.
They should B as bad as last year.

Yo the bit bout opposing Ds allowing Louisville to score TDs on purpose is very funny.

What will happen when Muschamp can’t pay-off players?
What will happen when Dilbert is rushed and reverts to typical cowardly Gator behavior?
Tune in Sept 7th to find out as the Canes are going to demolish you girls.
Tune in mid June to find the NC2A hammer the habitual offender Muschamp.

Can U say Gator LOOSERS!!

WE said we would have teh #1 Offense in U history and thats wo the new signees, gus the big back from ny, elder the rb from TENN

Alquaddin muhammed the stud from NJ is coming to help the d. 'Dont worry bout qbs, Kevin Olsen is a stud, and he will redshirt n 13 and have 4 full yrs like Dorsey,,,,,,,startin in 2014

Now thattakes the cake in dumba55ness

Calvin takes Golden's two statistical yeras at the U and combined them withhis 5 years at Temple. LOL. He thinks that is a valid comparison. Boy you dumb. And Gallo Dumber

I think Jim Carrey is going to sue you all for impersonation.

Here's one stat stat boy:

Golden is 0-0 in bowls

Shannon was 0-3

There.

And you two are zero for life. Losers.

A minute of silence to all Bostonians.

God Bless America.

The NCAA director of enforcement is going to be on Auburn's campus full time now, a move rival SEC programs might say is a long time coming.

Joking aside, Dave Didion is no longer the NCAA director of enforcement, because he left the NCAA to take a job as the associate director of athletics for compliance at Auburn. USA Today was first to report the move. He will start at Auburn next week.

The move is interesting, and not just for the punchlines. USA Today said the NCAA has now lost five members of its enforcement staff recently, including three who were fired. That's a lot of turnover for the oft-criticized enforcement staff.

Of course, the NCAA enforcement staff is familiar with Auburn. There was a high-profile investigation of the school over Cam Newton's recruitment, and the NCAA found no wrongdoing. Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde reported last November that the NCAA was investigating Auburn again. Then there were the recent controversial allegations made against Auburn and Florida's Will Muschamp in a story by Roopstigo.com's Selena Roberts of improper recruiting, grade changing and paying players.

So it's safe to assume Didion has seen a few Auburn files cross his desk during his 14 years with the NCAA.

Didion held the same position at Auburn from 1995 to 1999.

"It's personal," Didion told USA Today, "but I just wanted to go back to campus, and Auburn is one of the few places that I could go to.

"I really enjoyed the people, and I enjoyed members of the coaching staff. It's a great community. It's a beautiful university. No reason not to go back."

what is the crap about this being AGs 8th year as head coach , it does not matter what he did anywhere else , this is a different team ,atmosphere, talent pool, better facilities , and totally different set of circumstances. And if you must bring it up he won at Temple where know won else has. I don't know if he is the answer here or not but there is no benefit or gain to constantly bashing our coaches, apparently that is your negative disposition.Go Canes

I told ya....make ONE comment about Timmy tears and no undefeated seasons and the Turd girls LOSE IT.....hahahahaha.

Slurp....slurp....slurp....

Calvina and Gallober both do not have the football knowledge to comprehend that stats are nothing more than window dressing and they do not tell the whole story of a game. Heres some stats for those two nimrods from Shannon's teams.
0 and 3 in bowl games against a no quarterback having Cal team, a blow out bowl loss to a 1st year head coach in Brian Kelly and Notre Dame, and a loss to a bunch of slow guys from Wisconsin. Also he never won anything as a head coach.

Golden inherits a team full of disfunctional babies who were still crying home to mama his 1st year and goes 500 when everybody said it would be a miracle for him to do so, then in his 2nd year with a defense full of freshmen and sophomores who beat out the majority of those dead weight recruits of Shannon's, Golden wins the Coastal Division title in only his second year. No doubt in year three we will win the ACC title and represent the ACC in the orange bowl at least. So go blow yourselves.
