Eduardo Clements says he will be ready for contact this fall

NAPLES -- Hurricanes tailback Eduardo Clements was wearing a headset during Friday's scrimmage at Naples High. But he expects that -- and the neck brace he's been wearing for months -- to be replaced with a football helmet soon.

The 5-9, 192-pound senior from Booker T. Washington High, whose health and future with UM has been in question, said Friday he will have his brace taken off in the next two weeks and expects to be full-go when fall practice rolls around.

"I'm really happy that I will be getting this thing off," Clements said Friday. "At first they thought it was a stinger, but then they realized I had to have surgery for a herniated disk. I'm really going to be excited to be back out there with the guys soon."

Clements' return will provide experience behind ACC Freshman of the Year Duke Johnson as well as depth alongside sophomore Dallas Crawford.

Redshirt freshman Danny Dillard (6-2, 210) appeared to injure his shoulder during Friday's action. But he got praised by UM coach Al Golden for his work after Friday's scrimmage when asked how Johnson's backups have been performing.

"We're giving the ball to Maurice Hagens more. He's answering. Mo is a physical runner, has a good lateral cut. He's showing some niftiness. I'm excited about it," Golden said. "I thought Danny ran hard on the goalline," Golden said. "I think Danny Dillard is starting to understand who he is. He's got to be a big back and wear people down. What can you say about Dallas? He's having arguably the best spring on the offensive side of the ball."

It's funny how 3g said one of the best things that happened this year was Kareem brown being added to the program, lol. Now maybe i'm missing or forgetting something, but i don't remember hearing none of the players say they've been learning alot from jethro, but all of a sudden Kareen brown comes along, and now the d-line is starting to play ball lol. That man will definitely give the d-linemen a whole different mindset and guys won't want to let em down, coaching is an easy transition for em, he'll motivate the d-line and they'll start to look familiar cause mentally he'll get them better, jethro seems to be going thru the motions, it would also be good to see him coaching these guys more to their individual strengths as well. i want to see what jelani hamilton does this year, that's a whole lot of talent, hopefull he redshirted last year. One of thos guys if he wasn't redshirted they waisted doing that for him.

I know this much, as it stands right now our runningbacks are either going to get alot of holding calls or get smo17 racked up, they're not being taught how to block well right now, soldinger style. I luv seeing tracy howard go up against allen hurns and rashawn scott, he's getting all the work he needs to be prepared for the rest of college football.

jacory is second best QB in UM history...really only had 5more INT's per year than dorsey and that's having that thumb injury....

kool aid drinks have no idea what they are talking about as usual...

Gallo and Calvin are the same person. Calvin is Gallo's black alter-ego
He is also a Gator trying to act like a Cane fan so that he can continue to trash the U on this blog.

no I just trash golden-dnofrio on this blog.....both are failure for UM football..next years scheduled is pathetic outside florida and fsu.....the QB situation is dire with williams - crow - dewey......olsen is terrible as QB....just watch under amour game on u tube....

thank god we have morris......without him the team crumbles.....

of course randy Shannon will save the team in 2013 just like he did in 2012 except we don't have teddy bridgewater....QB problem solved

if golden had any balls or smarts...he would have fired mark dnofrio....his personal relationship is not at stake here...nobody cares whether they were room mates or not...

a bold move would be to hire a guy like pepper Johnson and promote him to DC....he did a great job as defensive line coordinator for new England...just ask vince wilfork......thats a guy that brings all that bill belichick defensive genius to UM......

2013 will be the same BS with dnofrio because he does not have it.....that's why golden is weak...

if we are gonna get rid of randy shannon because he wasnt getting it done...then fine BUT, al golden needs the same benchmark accomplishments...he is talking like he wants to be at UM forever...who wouldnt? Sun-Beach-lifestype-2 million a year-home in coral gables.....

al golden is supposed to be an improvement over randy Shannon but that's not how is is shaping up....the fact that we have a defensive coordinator that came in 4th from last place in ncaa is very troubling....that guy would have been fired long ago.....but he is still here....

if al golden fails in 2013...he should be fired just like randy was....randy was family...al golden is still a stranger to UM....

Ummm, Gallober U forgot the stats that matter most which is

Dorsey 3 conference titles, 1 National Title, Two BCS bowl wins, and two National Titles they were screwed out of by the polls and referee's.

J70- No bowl wins, no BCS bowl wins, No conference titles, No division Titles, and above all NO National Titles.

Anybody would take these guys over Harris if they had any assemblence of a brain and knowledge of the game.

Ken Dorsey
Gino Torretta
Graig Erickson
Steve Walsh
Bernie Kosar
Jim Kelly
Vinnie Testaverde
Stephen Morris

AG is an improvement over Shannon as it has been said many times in the media....and to me personally from insiders that AG has a great "business football" plan in place for the players....from A to Z. Everything is done top notch....cutting corners not allowed. I know a few guys personally on the team AND THEY LOVE AG like a father....the rest of the coaches as well. I have even been told by a few that they are so into the coaching staff and academic part of school that they feel "blessed" to be a part of the program. A couple guys who were borderline grade wise in high school have told me....."my high school teachers sucked" compared to what we have here at UM.....our professors are incredible not only as teachers but mentors as well." There is one athlete who was homesick and was able to build a relationship with one of the professors to where that is no longer the case.....said...."it truly is a family atmosphere here....I feel blessed".

There is NO DRAMA in our program at this time....AG and staff have cultivated an atmosphere of competition.....YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR PLAYING TIME....it's not handed to you....practices are WAY more organized and up-tempo compared to Shannon's practices.

This is the year YOU WILL see the difference....trust me....my sources are legit!!

Oh...and they all love Donna as well....very personable.

In regards to J12....I know he gets knocked here a lot but....I do think he did some great things here. First and foremost....HE ALWAYS HAD A GREAT ATTITUDE...was always very polite....I saw him make some throws at times where I was like WOW....he just threw to many pics at wrong times....and I chalk that up to coaching....plain and simple.....Randy at the helm....Randy to blame.

Coach D'S defense will be much improved this year...insiders are saying Pierre will ball out this year....Porter should be a force as well.

Trust me....my sources are legit!!

Gallo you talk like a man with a paper a##hole. You talk about winning is the only thing acceptable , what did Jacory win? What did Dorsey win? Big difference huh? You retard. And I'm not knocking Jacory because he did what he was taught by the coaching staff that Randy was in charge of. You are not a Cane fan so sto pretending you are , and tell your alter ego Calvin to do the same. Do you have a list for that? Go Canes

coke/cherry, my main point about jacory vs dorsey is, they bash that man like the majority of the picks were his fault when jacory was just a victim of the scheme that mark nipple had no idea how to run. He was trying to run the same offense the rams ran via the old san diego chargers and if you go back and look at all the qb's in that offense, they had a high interception rate. When mik martz went to chicago while jay cutler is not an elite qb, his interceptions were never that high until he got with mike martz.

In that offense there are no check downs, you have alot of receiver route combinations where they're all running the same depth and running the same routes, if you go back and look at that ohigho st. game from 2010, on the first pick jacory threw, just watch all the receivers run the same depth, our route combinations under nipple were horrific. So my point was, you put jacory with the same talent and coaching that ken dorsey had and that man would've surpaased all of what dorsey did because jacory had that championship mindset, he only lost it when he got hurt and started getting blasted.

Now put dorsey with any of the teams that j70 was on and dorsey would be nowhere near the record books, let's put matt pipho as dorsey's starting right tackle and let's see how long he last. If dorsey was accurate, he wouldn't of missed the tight-end merceir wide open in the flats to tie the game, than the way he took that last sack of the game was pathetic, it's easy to look like all world when you don't get touched, that's how the whole dorsey j70 thing got started. Those clowns don't know football is why they blame jacory, you don't just go and throw for over 400 yards against Fsu by luck.

In fact, gallo, let's put up the stats of who got sacked the most jacory or dorsey, that's where it really shows the difference in talent. You didn't see dorsey under center with no running backs in the backfield, who does that and if they did do it, it was because they were going to throw a quick pass to the tight-end up the seam. nipple was gladly trying to sabotage shannon.

And one more thing, on the picks, it wasn't just jacory, all the qb's that played under nipple had a high number of interceptions. Some tried to blame it on morris being a true freshmen when it had more to do with the scheme, even his own son was throwing picks.

Coach D'S defense will be much improved this year...insiders are saying Pierre will ball out this year....Porter should be a force as well.

Here's the thing and i said this not long after james coley was hired, this hire was interesting, we know coley knows how to recruit but the main thing that stuck out to me though is, in the 2 years we've played Fsu, for some reason, oach OH-NO's defense has looked decent against them, now was it ej manuel(who i always thought was overrated)was it gumbo fisher or was it james coley, either way, james coley had a heavy hand in an offense that has been slowed down for 2 years in a row by the #117 escort service in the country.

So i said i wouldn't be surprised to start hearing how the defense is starting to do better and sure enuff that's what we're hearing on a regular basis now. Now yes the players are older and going into year 3 they're normally is a jump in production, first off, if curtis porter is out there, him alone will make the d-line that much better. We'll see once shane mcdermont & feliciano get back and the whole o-line is intact if we here from this d-line again.

It's going to be hard to Truly gage whether this defense is legit or not until they go up against another legit team, so we'll see for sure real soon.

Calvin ( Gallo ) a lot of Jacorys interceptions were not because of throwing to the wrong receiver but because his throws had the velocity of a 3rd graders arm. I know he could throw harder he just could not recognize when to, that is instinctual not a coaching problem.Go Canes

When it comes to wins and losses, as it stands right now, goldie is 13 & 11 in his first 2 years here and that's with alot of proven talent. In shannon's first 2 years we all know shannon had 2 qb's who you could barely win with, goldie was left with to legit d-1 starting qb's and possible one that might get drafted and one that might even make it to the nfl on his 2nd go round.

It doesn't matter how organized coach goldie comes off or what his detailed plans are in his 3rd year here, we need to see a big improvement from the last 2 years when it comes to being a balanced and legit football team.

I agree we need to see improvement this year but I also would like to have seen how well AG would have done on a level playing field in recruiting. Without Ncaa sanctions he may have pulled in another 4 or 5 star per season, he did an exceptional job with what he had to work with. Go Canes

I think it was 2 things about FSU offense, EJ Manuel and a rivalry game. I agree EJ Manuel way way overrated, a good arm and wheels don't make you a qb. Miami and FSU usually bring out the best defense in one another. It's also tougher to run your offense in a rivalry game.

We will find out about Cooley soon enough.

Dorsey has a narional championship....jacoey doesn't. Didn't ine of you say youre not family until you have a ring?

Here's what you need to look at to get a better understanding of jacory:

2008 & 2011 combined: 313comp's 494Att's 16 Int's

2009 & 2010 combined: 390comp's 676Att's 32 Int's

2008 & 2011 combined: sacked 28 times(2009 alone sacked 34 times)

ken dorsey threw 12 picks his senior year, once he didn't have an all world o-line but still have enuff nfl talent on the o-line and receivers and a runningbacks, jacory's highest pick year was 17 in 2009 when he was asked to throw the ball 406 times and still completed 0.6 percent of his passes with a thumb/joint that needed major surgery.

I agree we need to see improvement this year but I also would like to have seen how well AG would have done on a level playing field in recruiting. Without Ncaa sanctions he may have pulled in another 4 or 5 star per season, he did an exceptional job with what he had to work with. Go Canes

Now while goldie has been hurt in recruiting these last few years and we'll be alright if we don't get blasted with this nc2a thing, but when it came to elevating the play of the players/team coached that didn't happen. I would expect more from goldie being when he took over at UM that marked him going into his 6th year as a headcoach. This up coming year is going to be his 8th year as a headcoach so if he's head & heels better than shannon we should start seeing it right away come this year, otherwise to me, it was a waste of time to get rid of shannon.

hahahhahahahahahahahahah Calvin is blaming Jacorrys picks as being a victim of the "schemes" LOL. Thats funny. So then... how did he end up with 70 TDS? The schemes?

He had people to pass to:

Hankerson- NFL
Benjamin- NFL
Javarris James- NFL
Jimmy Graham- NFL
Greg Olsen- NFL
Damien Berry- NFL
Lamar Miller- NFL
Javarris James- NFL

Please. But the most important paramter of them all: Winning. Winning anything. a bowl. a conf ch. a NC. Any thing. Jacorry was 0-3 in bowls. Jacorry lost games as QB he should never have lost. Sure, he won a coupl e of good games in 4 years: come from behind against Duke, the win at FSU and the win vs Oklahoma. That's it. Period. He was 0-4 or at most 1-3 against va tech. 1-3 against FSU and He threw more pick sixes than anyone in Miami history. I think the only QB worse than Jacorry in the last 20 years is Kyle Wright. Kyle Wright was a 5 star and came ouyt as the #1 player recruit from highs school, Gatorade Player of the year and he was a major bust. Plus he is a snitch.

Miami baseball is sad. Pathetic. Jim Morris has to go. They cant hit, and they lack fundamentals. Plus they all lack HEART. FSU gave them a clinic today. It was Varsity against JV thanks to stale a55 Morris's bad recruiting and coaching.

Where do they get these recruits? Chants Mack is slow and fat. he looks like Kirby Pucket but he cant hit. Seriously.
Morris needs to go! Sad.

If you're and outsider coming in and haven't won a national championship here as a coach, you're an outsider. Their are only 2 players i consider outsiders that played at UM and that's testaverde & frank costa, and since he wants to be the new snitch boy ad kyle wrong to the list too, other than that, that statement is for coaches.

So goldie will always be an outsider and his croonies until they become part of bringing a national championship to Miami.

This is a championship city, that's the standard, not conference titles.

And if you talking bout jacory, that man will always be held in high regard he brought 2 highschool championships to the city and a national title as Northwestern being the #1 highshool team in the country so his legacy is set down here.

Gallo-

You are an infected boil that needs to be lanced. All of your posts are filled with lies, disinformation and misleading comments.

Coach Golden won the ACC Coastal Division this past year after taking over a team from Randy Shannon that was in total disarray with players not willing to pay the price to win and the most brutal NCAA investigation since SMU.

Al Golden has been rated the second best coach in the ACC and the only reason he wasn't appointed as the best ACC coach is due to Frank Beamer's lengthy tenure and success over those year's. Despite your lies, such as his players don't like him, Coach Golden will not only be considered the best coach in the ACC, he will soon be known as the best coach in all of college football.

i think the funny auburn crap that came out is that muschump offered 400 dollars for him to stay. thought the # was a bit funny............CANES 35=UFelons 7 ..Mark that down......
Oh and hows that home grown recruiting this year? All the kids are from so fla...........enuff of golden cant recruit
By 2014, as mentioned, we will b 1 of the 4 playoff teams...................THE U BABY. it all happens, only at the U

Gallo and Calvin:

Schnellenberger, Johnson, Erikson, and Davis were all outsiders.

Coker and Shannon were "family".

That should be "enough said" but you two morons are too dumb to put 2 and 2 together.

ken dorsey didn't win any conference title. bowl game or national championship on his own.....

funny how all these so called fans that "bleed orange and green" will give thier loyalty to strangers (golden/dnofrio) rather than UM alumni -harris/shannon

sorry green peas.....that stats are the stats.....harris goes down as second best QB at UM unless morris has a banner year.....TD's wont make it....too many to make up

all al golden has done since he has been here is:

1. self sanction unnecessarily that denied the class of 2012 a division championship and a bowl win in front of their home crowd to end their UM experience
2. piss off the feeder schools
3. created bad will among the team that required a "player committee" to act as a go-between for the staff
4. f'''cked up the recruitment of kirkland - thomas - collins - bostwick - bryant
5. put UM at all time low - #116 defense

on and on.....

total defense - 4319 #45 national & #6 ACC

2012 - al golden
total offense - 5282 #37 national & #5 ACC
total defense - 5837 #116 national & dead last ACC

now...why did we get rid of randy shannon again?, lol

gallo, these clowns can't read that's the problem. We clearly stated that until goldie and his crew become part of a national championship team down here, they'll be consisdered outsiders until that happens. Hollering "It's great to be a Miami Hur-ri-cane" after wins over below average teams will not make you a part of UM until you win a national championship. Not a coastal division, how hard was that to do with all the garbage teams in the coastal.

That headcoach at unc did a way better job than coach goldie, you know the one who really won the coastal at 9 & 4 and beat 7th year headcoach goldie straight up.

we should have never fired randy shannon......the stats would have been better plus we would have teddy bridgewater plus all they guys golden pushed off the team.....he was the ONLY guy that told the team to stay away from shapiro......

the offense would probably be close to 6000 yards and the defense under 4000.....

be careful what you wish for.......

Gallo....your agenda is old and full of holes....plain and simple. Please read my post above....MY SOURCES ARE LEGIT!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with Canes schedule....

rofl, almost plug & play, if goldie wasn't going into his 8th year as a headcoach i wouldn't be on em that much, but this year will be the tell all year, if guys see and hear coach goldie complaining about the schedule being to tuff and don't think he's and outsider, they weren't Canes to began with. No UM coach is suppose to ever talk about a schedule being to tuff, in fact goldie is suppose to be saying we want all the tuff teams, but he's doing just the opposite.

Trying to water down the schedule to once again, buy more time. Do what you gotta do goldie, we see you, that's not a Hurricane mindset doing that. This team has to win 10 games or more this year and most in dominant fashion, otherwise, it's time to put the charcoal under coach goldie's chair. shannon went 9 & 4 with a way tuffer schedule in his 3rd year and never cried about the schedule, so no way this team should be hovering around that record come this year.

In the meantime, coach goldie crying like a lil girl about the schedule against teams that were ok. When a coach starts trying to adjust a schedule to make them weaker, just goes to show you how much confidence he has in his own headcoaching abilities, but he's good enuff for the troll/shalala!

Shannon = deer in headlights as head coach....

AG.....Paterno pedigree....WERE IN GOOD HANDS PEOPLE....

Bowl bound this year....Morris will light it up....

Potential All Americans this year:

Offense:
Morris
Duke Johnson
Phillip Dorsett
Allen Hurns
Linder
Henderson
Feliciano
Perryman
Figueora - Freshman All American
Deon Bush
Eddie Johnson - If he gets act together
Kirby - Freshman All American
Muhammad - Freshman All American

Dude.....WE ARE LOADED WITH LEGIT TALENT!!!!!!

AG has done A GREAT job building an atmoshphere of compitition...

AG'S record is 13-11

It will be 23-13 at the end of 2013

My prediction for 2014 will be 35-13 as we have an undefeated season and are one of the "4" for the first playoff system....get ready people!!!!!!

calvin....if you watch YouTube when jimmy johnson is at UM 2012 giving a speech about how "fatigue makes cowards of all of us".....he talks about how he couldn't wait to play FSU...how he couldn't wait to play oklahoma.....

golden is the total opposite....the reason is he knows the defense is trouble....but he wont fire his room mate....he will sacrifice the team as a result, but he doesn't care.....

Potential All Americans this year:

Offense:
Morris - shannon
Duke Johnson - shannon
Phillip Dorsett - shannon
Allen Hurns - shannon
Linder - shannon
Henderson - shannon
Feliciano - shannon
Perryman - go gables high
Figueora - eddie johnson wannabe
Deon Bush - rather have ray-ray armstrong
Eddie Johnson - golden casualty
Kirby - backup, wont see a lot of action this year
Muhammad - too small (weight) wont beat out starters...

good try

You guys are complete idiots. Calvin, you should refrain from even posting about UM. You spout nonsense and make stuff up (Shannon's contract, Texas not wanting to pay Shannon the money that you allege he would have lost from UM, saying that Shalala said that UM was recruiting a different kind of athlete, that Ed Reed qoute of yours about the "mutiny" in Baltimore, etc). I didn't know making stuff up made you an "independent thinker". BTW, Shannon made $900, 000 a year when they hired him then $1.5 million after his extension. Golden was paid $550, 000 before his extension. While the ACC average salary was $1.7 million, Shannon was slightly underpaid. Golden with previous experience as a head coach was an absolute steal for UM.

Arty,

here we are as we've been day and night for year's posting gibberish on Canes blogs and praying our cowardly gators can some how be mentioned in the same breath as the Mighty Canes ... same story, different decade ... we cowardly gators are still losers!

This U is still the team that I internally as well as outwardly hope the gators can be many, many years from now.

Of course this Arty/Soldy conversation is me talking to myself as I am a certifiable, basement dwelling, fat, insane troll.

damn... where are the cops when you need them as right about now my gator's are getting ready for their nightly strong arm robbery spree!

Ray Ray over Deon...your on drugs dude....Armstrong was a BUST....plain and simple...HE was a lot of hype....to worried about eating at Prime 112 then playing football.

Eddie Johnson is an Eddie Johnson casualty....HE IS FAILING IN THE CLASSROOM AS PER MY SOURCES....how does AG have anything to do with that?

CAlvin you are a stupid moron, know nothing , know no football.gallo you are stupider if there is such a word.

jacorry highly regarded? Where? O-town? Sure. Ill buy that.

You said He won two high school championships to the city./.. what city? I could care less about Miami NW. I love Carol City and Beach high baby! And you dumba55 contradicted your dumb self because you say you cannot attribute a championship to a QB when I said Dorsey won 2 national championships. HAHAHAH you too stupid to even be here. Umshould ban your dumba55 from the stadium. YOu and dumba55 Gallo.

SO by that pseudologic, Joe Falcco shouldnt have gotten paid- since he didnt "win" the superbowl.

And since you and stupida55 Gallo love stats so much, heres another...

As a starting QB, Dorsey lost 2 games. in 4 years.

How many games did Jacorry lose in 4 years as a starter?

INT/attempt: Dorsey>JAcorry
INTS/TD: Dorsey> JAcorry
Ints/completiuons: Dorsey>JAcorry
Bowl wins: Dorsey
Ships: Dorsey
Times beat FSU: Dorsey
Times beat VT: Dorsey
Times beat UF: Dorsey

Times texted an oppnent before a big game: J70
Times made a fool of himself before a big game: Harris

Just the fact that Calvin and Gallo are defending him makes himlook bad.

5-STAR Cook is much better than the other Central midget RB that commited to U... But then again, that's why he's a GATOR !

5 Star Clemson Tailback Commit Flips to UF

Miami Central running back Dalvin Cook flipped to Florida from Clemson following the Gators' Orange & Blue Debut on Saturday.

The 5-foot-11, 192-pounder verbally committed to the Tigers in June, but a visit to Gainesville last week made the Gators a threat, as UF became his second school of choice. Cook returned for Saturday's scrimmage and said Florida was tied with the Tigers afterward. Hours later, he made the switch.

I talked about it with my family and we decided it was the best for me,” said Cook, who is ranked as the nation's No. 4 running back and No. 22 overall prospect by Rivals.com.

As a junior, he carried the ball 127 times for 21 touchdowns and 1,452 yards, which was more than any other running back competing in Class 6A-8A in Dade County. Cook was named to the Florida Class 6A All-State First Team after helping Miami Central capture the state championship.

UF now has nine commits in its 2014 class, including six Rivals250 members.

And who gives a sh-t? No body that's who. ANd who is the idiot that thinks Armstrong is better than Bush? Gotta be Calvina or Gallober. Imagine that.

Gallober who gives a sh-t about some mythical high school championship? Here's a hint dummy, the term mythical means it isn't real U idiot.

Maybe this is why Golden came in and started suspending players. They didn't respect Calvin's hero (Shannon) and Al wasn't putting up with the ridiculousness.

Last I checked golden has never won a bowl game. He didn't even get invited to a bowl game with 8 wins at temple. I'm sure you all have an excuse for that as well.

Like I said, I like the guy, but I don't trust him anymore than Nick the Di@k Saban or any other Egocentric Coach. And for the record, I'd rather have Saban right now. Screw all that rah rah garbage.

Don't shoot the messenger.
