Dorsett latest Hurricane to end up on preseason watch list

NEW YORK -- It's that time of year when just about every top college football player in the country ends up on a preseason award watch list.

Hurricanes receiver Phillip Dorsett became the latest player at UM to end up on one Tuesday afternoon when the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation selected him as well as nine other receivers from the ACC to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the game's top receiver each season.

The list, which includes 75 names in all, won't get cut down to 10 semifinalists until Nov. 18 and three finalists until Nov. 25 before the award itself is handed out Dec. 12 during the The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.

Of all the Hurricanes nominated for preseason awards Dorsett, sophomore tailback Duke Johnson and quarterback Stephen Morris are the players who I think have the best shot at actually reaching the semifinal stage and perhaps beyond.

Other Hurricanes on preseason watch lists:

> Paul Hornung Award (most versatile player in college football): RB Duke Johnson.

> Maxwell Award (College Player of the Year): RB Duke Johnson and QB Stephen Morris.

> John Mackey Award (top tight end): TE Clive Walford.

> Rimington Award (top center): C Shane McDermott

> Ray Guy Award (top punter): P Pat O'Donnell

> Outland Trophy (outstanding interior lineman): OG Brandon Linder

Oh, and for the record.....Im 42 years old, built my house from the ground up by myself and own it....that means no payments....my recreation room is bigger than your trailer.....hahahaha.LOSER!

Actually Kenny Kelly has a record at doke Campbell for opposing qb's. no need to slander him.

The U is back !!!!!! They are ripe and ready to explode. Florida game will be a really big test and when we destroy them, the rest of the ACC will be running around wondering what they can do to stop us.
This team is ready

C'mon Miami Bob. When was the last time we beat a stout team? We recruit good kids now. We have beat no one and you are claiming we're back? Quit insulting everyone's intelligence.

Easy my Canadian downer, I agree with Bob, we are back thanks to the greatness of Al Golden. The ACC will be scared of us as well as all the other no name patsy teams on our schedule. The only tests will be UF and FSU but we should at least score some points and keep it close until the half.

Oh, and for the record.....Im 42 years old, I have Jacory Harris pajamas that I wear all day long while I blog here and over at Gator Clause.....that means I'm a loser but who cares....trailers and donkeys .....hahahaha.LOSER!

Will the most ignorant member of the UFirstdegreemurder, jlo, please swallow some bleach.

And it has been really quiet from the blog Pig, Soldy himself.

Must have been fired from the Costco graveyard shift so he is working days now.

Unfortunatly the style of football that coach goldieis tryig to instal here only one side of the ball will excite the crowd and that's the offensive side. UM football is about dominating both sides of the ball, since coach goldie has been here, you can see it in the crowd for 2 years now how all momentum is lost once the defense hits the field. We won't be seeing our normal attack mode defense as long as coach goldie is at the helm with his boy clown 117th!

305 players from the SEC have been selected in the NFL draft since 2007-- that's 80 more than the ACC in that span...

ACC and u SuCK

what do those numbers prove? If you use current conference teams....ACC. has 8 more national titles since thestart of national championships. Heck, even the ivy league has more titles than the sec.....i believe the pac 12 does too......SEC #4 wohoo!

Your overal stats are incomplete on every subject because you say since 1999....or since 2011.... U pick a favorable cut off date to meet your agenda....u always have incomplete arguments.....

One beat Calvin slept if off apparently and chimed in with his one beat.

a one and a one and a one and a one

I'M STARTING TO GET VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS UM TEAM THIS YEAR. THE TALENT IS THERE AND THE SCHEDULE IS SOFT SO I WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IF THIS TEAM DOES NOT FINISH 10-2. NO EXCUSES, I KNOW WE HAVE ISSUES WITH THE DEFENSE AND COACH DUNNO BUT WE DO HAVE TALENT AND IF THE 2 STOOGES CAN GET THIS UNIT ATTACKING AND HAVING FUN BY PLAYING AGGRESSIVE, TURNOVER FORCING DEFENSE THAN THIS TEAM CAN WIN 11-12 GAMES. YES I KNOW THE GATOR GAME AND FSU GAME WILL BE VERY TOUGH BUT WHEN YOU ANALYZE THE TEAMS FAIRLY THE U HAS THE BEST OFFENSE AND THE WORST DEFENSE. FSU HAS THE BEST DEFENSE BUT WILL HAVE A FIRST YEAR STARTER AT QB. OF THE 3 QB MORRIS IS THE BEST AND MOST EXPERIENCED. THE GATORS HAVE FSU # AND IF THE TREND CONTINUES ONLY THE U CAN PREVENT THEM FROM WINNING BOTH GAMES. FSU LOST TOO MANY GIFTED STARTERS AND A ROOKIE QB ALWAYS MAKE ROOKIE MISTAKES. IF ALL THE GAMES AMONGST THE 3 TEAMS ARE CLOSE WHO WOULD YOU WANT QB YOUR TEAM ? WITH ALL OF THAT SAID THIS IS WHY I THINK THE CANES CAN BEAT BOTH. 1) THE GATOR GAME IS AT HOME AND THEY NEVER WIN IN MIAMI ! DRISKEL IS NOT THAT GOOD OF QB AND THEY HAVE NO WR. SO THE ONLY LOGICAL GAME PLAN WOULD BE TO RUN THE BALL AND LIMIT THE CANE OFFENSIVE PLAYS! THAT COULD WORK IF THE DEFENSE DO NOT IMPROVE AGAINST THE RUN. AGAINST FSU I FEEL THE CANES CAN WIN BECAUSE 1) THE TEAM ALWAYS PLAY GOOD IN TALLAHASSEE 2) FSU HAS A GOOD DEFENSE BUT WITH A NEW FIRST TIME QB IN HIS FIRST UM/FSU GAME WHERE BOTH CAN POSSIBLY BE UNDEFEATED BEFORE 85000 PLUS AND NATIONAL TV CAN HE HANDLE THE PRESSURE ? I DON'T THINK SO. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT BOTH FSU/FLA BETTER HOPE THE CANES DEFENSE DOES NOT IMPROVE BECAUSE IF IT DOES OTHER THAN NC ON THE ROAD THIS TEAM CAN GO UNDEFEATED!! CALL ME CRAZY BUT JUST A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT AND THE TEAM SHOULD EASILY GO 10-2 ACC COASTAL BARRING NO MAJOR INJURIES. NO MORE EXCUSES TIME TO BRING THE FUN BACK TO S FLORIDA FOOTBALL(CANES/DOLPHINS BOTH WIN 10 PLUS GAMES)

Players from the SEC have been selected in the All Prison Police Blotter since 2007-- that's 780 more than the ACC in that span...

SEC and uf cowards SuCK

What a stupid come back. If you gonna post that crap you might as well not even attempt a come back.
You sound like a spoiled child, "Oh yeah and you suck more"
It is obvious you have NO comeback at all.
