Duke Johnson named to fourth preseason watch list

Duke Johnson may have been speaking for all of Hurricanes Nation last night when he posted the following tweet...

Good news Duke, the dog days of summer are almost over. You and your teammates will be back out on the field soon. And hey, the Atlantic Coast Conference Media meetings are next week. So we'll get to hear from coach Al Golden, quarterback Stephen Morris and defensive end Shayon Green real soon.

In the meantime, Duke, more accolades for you.

Friday, the budding young star tailback and 2012 ACC Rookie of the Year, was named to his fourth preseason watch list when the Walter Camp Football Foundation named him one of the 50 on its list. Johnson was a second-team Walter Camp All-American last year and now one of four from the ACC -- Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd, Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas and Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins were the others -- in the hunt for the big award this year.

Johnson is also on the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award (most versatile player in college football), the Maxwell Award (college player of the year) and the Doak Walker Award (best running back).

We also hear Chuck Norris and the Most Interesting Man in the World from Dos Equis don't believe they could tackle Duke.

Duke has also been put on the felons d watch list also.......this kid did over 2000 all purpose yards as a backup. Cant wait to see what he does as a starter.

### Tough summer for several UM players starting their pro careers. Dallas’ Shane Larkin broke his ankle; Durand Scott has gone scoreless in just 25 Las Vegas Summer League minutes for the Spurs; Kenny Kadji is averaging 5.5 points (9 for 22 shooting) for Cleveland’s Summer League team, though he played better Thursday; and Reggie Johnson and Trey McKinney Jones are still looking for work. Julian Gamble signed in France.

Current Players on NBA Rosters ...

u ----------- 0

Talk about it in Recruiting Storm Center
Booker T Washington defensive back Nigel Bethel (formerly Nigel Patten) has confirmed for CaneSport that he has committed to the Hurricanes.

Hey Gallo....does this go on casualty list? Were laughing at you once again!!

Current players on nba rosters is all u can dig up???

Didn't a Hurricane win 2 rings with the Miami Heat?

Duke is a very good player. He is not an every down back though, kind of on the small side. He was shut down by all the good defenses you played last year. KSU, ND, FSU and even UNC. You better find a big back to help out and complement him.

Just sayin.....he is not the only back we have.....every team has backups....he sure has the heart of an every down back...just sayin......

James Jones, Dequan Jones,John Salmons,Tim James and now Shane Larkin ..and we not a basketball program u fool. And I could name at least 5 more.

Just sasayin.....we also have gus edwards at 6-2 230 lbs

I'm old and waiting for the season to get going....We need that defense to stand tall this year. A couple of players killed us all year. Other teams just waited till they were on the field then, BAM 30 yards 40 yards or TD. Killed us...We might have won two more games. If the "D" can just hang tough, this will be a very good year
