Sellout alert! UM Hurricanes vs. Florida Gators single-game football tickets are sold out.

We knew this game was hot from the start -- and we're not talking about the noon kickoff.

The University of Miami has announced that "following an unprecedented surge in ticket sales, all seats allotted for single-game purchases for the September 7 game vs. Florida are now sold out. The only remaining opportunity to buy a ticket to the Florida game is via a season ticket."

Season tickets begin at $20 per game for the least expensive package, according to UM.

The seven home games: FAU in the season opener at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30; the Gators at noon Sept. 7; Savannah State on Sept. 21; Georgia Tech (the Atlantic Coast Conference opener) on Oct. 5; Wake Forest on Oct. 26; Virginia Tech on Nov. 9; and Virginia on Nov. 23.

Tickets are still available on a single-game basis for all other home games, according to HurricaneSports.com. "Hurricane Club members may purchase seats now through their online account. Season-ticket holders may first purchase single-game tickets on Monday, July 29. Seats become available to the general public on Monday, August 5."

For more information or to order by phone,  call the UM ticket office at 305-284-2263.

If most of yall understood the offense that mark nipple was trying to run here, than you would understand more of why all of our qb's led the nation in picks. He tried to run the air Coryell/mike martz offense. Those offenses are high risk high reward type of offenses and don't belong at the college level. You'll see dan fouts & kurt warner threw many picks in that offense but the touchdowns helped to balance that out.

And those 2 qb's, 1 is already in the hall the other might be going, so if they threw a plethora of picks in that offense, what you think a True sophomore is going to do and let's not forget, j70 was obviously hurt and nipple still slung the ball about around 40 times in the UNC game.

Anyway, i'll get off that subject, those who know football will understand those who don't will continue jugglin and slobbering goldie's 13 & 11 ballz.

Let me get this straight, coach goldie couldn't reel in teddy bridgewater but he went all in for jacoby brissett the same qb that can't beat out jeff driskell and now we're sitting here with dewey & crow alongside ryan Williams and alco olsen. It would be fun if we somehow end up in a game with louisville, that would be a fun game.

3/4 of the crowd will be gator fans. The thugs who now support UM will go home
disappointed once again

Gallo , if u dig enough you will see strong was after bridgewater when he was coaching at ufelony. shannon getting fired was just a good excuse to follow strong to louisville.

AG keeps defending D corch??!!

AG 13-11
RS 12-12

RS went 9-3 his 3rd year..

AG needs to win more than 9 games or he is no better than RS,PERIOD!!

The sec teams are good but they don't play each other as much as they make you think. Bama, sc and Georgia don't even play the top three teams in the sec on none of their schedules. The majority of sec schools don't play a big ooc schedule any way and then the others don't play he top teams in conference. The sec is top heavy and the scheduling helps a good team like Alabama. Alabama may beat vtech handily but Clemson will take care of Georgia like lsu.

u'll be right back to where u were 8 years ago...

the verge of mediocrity

really ?

Lady Calvin,

Please explain again how you definitely know who the 5 O=line starters should be, even though you haven't seen any practices in the spring or know anything about current workouts.

Btw, J12 was at best an average qb. As little between the ears as you have, apparently.

99% of the crowd will be Canes fans. The toothless hillbillies who now support UF will go back to their trailerparks disappointed once again

u cowardly gators will be right back to where u were 8 years ago...

Not even on the verge of mediocrity

playthefreshman: correction, bro:

After 2 seasons,

Shannon 5-7, 7-6= 12-13
Golden 6-6, 7-5= 13-11

Even if Golden went 8-4 he still would have a better record than shannon after 3 years at 21-15 versus 21-16. That wont happen unless UM is banned from playing a bowl again, bc with an 8-4 season they are going to a bowl and may end up 8-5 or 9-4.

If AG with this team, the hot seast starts, No question- unles he revamps his coaching crew wsp on D- but unlike dooshbags Gallo and Calvin, I have higher expectations bc the D the last 2 years has been grossly undisciplined, youngand inexp[erienced not to mention injured. We shall see. Another factor is the offense needs some long sustained drives, and Morris needs to absolutely up his game in the red zone. Last season e did significantly better than the previous QB (whose name never name or type again) in turn overs, but he did not do well against tougher dfenses such as KSU, ND and FSU. That said, he didnt turn the ball over a lot. There is talk thatthe NFL is looking at him closely, so here is your chance, Stephen. Make those tough slants, be the general and guide the team on your back.

The UF game, while imporetant in so many ways wont be that much of a gauge bc the gators arent say, a top 5 team. Its a good start though. And nothing short of a beat down is acceptable. The game will hang on which team comes in with the most energy and desire to win. An example was the 2000 UM-FSU game. UM had the most heart. It was 101 degrees on the field that day. I remember listening to Dan Morgan saying he was ready to pass out. Heart will win this game.

UM wins, they go 10-2. North Carolina scares me for reason. They always play big games hard- recall 2-yrs ago they nearly beat (should have beaten) eventual NC LSU at LSU at night AFTER they had had 11 players uspended!

correction above- if AG goes 8-5 with this team the hot seat starts for sure

To theidiot abovewith your reasoning of game time....our opener is at 8 pm so wouldnt that mean the gators are responsible for the early kickoff?

Posted by: just sayin | July 26, 2013 at 05:34 PM

are u that STuPID or just a u fan ?

Today I love Miami !! Games have not been played. If Miami is so BAD why is everybody picking them to win the ACC? The Offense should be one of the best in the country. Just don't know if the "D" can carry us to a BCS Bowl. I think this might be the year for the CANES..The "D" will stand up. bad players are gone

Why is this a55hole Calvin still talking about Whipple? He hasn't been at UM for 3 seasons now- what a a pathetic moron.

Gallo- If someone told you to go shoot yourself in the head, I wouldn't think I'd debate that.

The U will shock many. Not me.
You all watch. And enjoy the ride. And by the end of the season, Calvin and Gallo are two doosh bags that will never set foot on this blog ever again

ain't going anywhere with the defensive co-ordinator they have #116 in defense tells you somethin. Our schedule wasn't that tough last year. They could have Cortez Kennedy, Warren Sapp and Ted Hendricks in there and with out a coach they would be rabble- score 35 against the gators and give up 41 That guy D'Orfino is full of s...t just opinion go canes.

I'm just STuPID and a cowardly gator fan ? That's it, just wanted everyone to know that.

Great post, always good to see another independent thinker on here posting. However i do think we will be better against the run as long as we have curtis porter in there, we are a different defense. But as long as we keep using our linebackers the way we do, this defense will continue to be ineffective. Also, we're asking our d-line to waltz with o-linemen as well. While we may stop the run better and get teams
in 3rd down situations, if we're going to keep playing soft zones on 3rd downs, it'll be a replay of last year all over again. From a talent standpoint the talent is their to be a top notch defense.

Offensively we got some question marks when it comes to the coaching staff, will our widereceivers be developed under a coach that didn't do a good job with the tight-ends in brennan carrol. Will our runningbacks be developed under a 1st time runningbacks coach. When you got don soldinger waiting in the wings for that call, you gotta make that call, no disrespect to hurlie brown but we don't have time to be practicing with coaches.

Now when recruiting time comes around again, coaches are going to ask players, "do you know who your position coach is going to be, so right now we got basically 1 widereceiver recruit and 1 runningback recruit, if soldinger was here, and guys knowing oh, that's the same guy who coached edge, james Jackson, portis, gore & mgahee, they'll all start lining up too. Same with the wide-out position, of course we couldn't keep George McDonald, but having him here one more year would've went along way with getting ermon lane.

So the only thing that's going to solve this situation is the on-field play this year. Right now, the gaytors have alot of momentum with getting players from Miami now, reason being, will muschamp is a real dude and fits the mold of the type of coaches we come up under down in Miami, it's not a coincidence he's starting to be able to recruit strong down here. Also, he's not doing all that kicking players off the team crap like coach goldie, makes a big difference. Come sept 7th, that's going to go along way with recruits in Miami/South Florida, believe that.

Calvin....would you please STOP posting for awhile....I don't think DUKE needs a running backs coach fool.

Would I love to have Soldinger coaching....of course....but I'm sure Hurlie is capable of getting the job done.

If D'Onofrio is able to turn around our defense and if they're capable of turning around we could have a very strong team this year. Our offense should be terrific with Morris being a top notch QB. and a backfield, line and tight ends offering a lot of support. I see FSU as being our toughest opponent. I think the Gators are infinitely beatable as is the rest of the schedule. GO CANES!!!!!!

Stpetecane. I disagree. First, last year was not an easy schedule. Kstate in manhattan, FSU were nobody to sneeze at. Gtech was mediocre but look what they did to USC. Vtech can play wth anyone. And Chi town is only 1.5 hrs away. That was a home game for them. Nd played in the NC.

I agree calvin is a moron.

This just in...

Phillip dorsett ran a 4.3 this offseason
Duke just behind 4.4

Newsflash to everyone:

Speed kills, catch us if you friggin can. And dont forget this O line, which when everything is said and done, could be top 2 in size in cfb or the largest.

Guess how many tickets were sold through the UM ticket office to the general public for this September’s UM-UF game – Zero tickets, none, nada. Yesterday there were over 7600 tickets for re-sale on Stub Hub alone. With all the re-sale sites together and Ebay, there were over 25,000 ticket offered for re-sale. Basically, the UM ticket office gave a select few insiders the opportunity to profit by selling tickets for 7 times face value. (Insider pay-offs --hmmmmmm). I spoke to the UM ticket office Friday and they said I could get a UM-UF ticket if I spent $140 on a season ticket for lousy seats. Seats in this SAME section are $140 on Stub Hub for the UF-UM game alone. The market is saying that all other home games on the UM schedule are pretty much worthless.

Shula not top 10? LOL. Consider the source... he thinks the ball travels farther and faster in cold air and that your hands don't open all the way in cold weather. Stay tune for another dumb comment from cAlvin.

Too bad he blames the administration for Shannon hiring Whipple. Shannon hand picked Whipple after he fired Nix. When the facts don't fit his opinion, he changes the facts. Lol.

http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=3863810&src=desktop

I wish these gators would go to thier div ll opponents sites and give them bulletin board material. Imagine if bowling green or that other highschool team would have had something to make them mad??? Gators would have lost two more last year. Lmao!

CalVin, and i quote...

The ball travels faster in cold air and your hands freeze over. Thats why dorsettdropped those two TDs

J70 was a nfl QB if it wasnt for whipple

Shannon would ve won a nc if it wsnt for whipple

Shannon wpuld have won an nc if it wasnt for nix

Blah blha blah bladdy blah blha

Who cares about thetix sold ylu gator puke A55

All of college football is a money scam, yet bama just built a 100000000 million dollar facility

Itsall a sham

And the swamp still doesnt have running water

What is your point you stoopid hill billy?

This years schedule sets up nicely for a NC run. The big games are spreaded out . The offense should work the stat sheet. Style points matter.gators, Seminoles, and V tech would probably be ranked during the season at some point. Play Clemson who is undefeated but badly banged up from victory over S. Carolina in the ACC Championship.Miamipull off the upset and finishes the season undefeated. Miami versus Alabama or Oregon orUSC or Texas.Maybe Louisville.

al golden/mark dnofrio are not in the same league as randy shannon and the stats prove it all....

2007: #33 defensive rank
2008: #28 defensive rank
2009: #29 defensive rank
2010: #22 defensive rank

Al golden

2011: #45 defensive rank
2012: #116 defensive rank

2010 - Before Al Golden

total offense - 5499 yards / 44 TD's - #31 rank
total defense - 4203 yards / 37 sacks for 241 yrd loss / 16 INT's - #22 rank

2011 – Al Golden

total offense - 4533 yards / 41 TD's - #70 ranked
total defense - 4319 yards / 23 sacks for 118 yrd loss / 6 INT's - #45 ranked

2012 – Al Golden

total offense - 5282 yards / 45 TD's - #36 ranked
total defense - 5837 yards / 13 sacks for 86 yrd loss / 11 INT's - #116 ranked

look at the job larry coker is doing compared to a brand like UM.....give me a break....these guys from NJ are over their heads at UM

Since you're such a Jersey fan Gallo, consider these basic stats. I'm going to simplify it for you.

POINTS PER GAME (RANK):

Shannon
Year Offense Defense
07 #101 #52
08 #50 #56
09 #30 #37
10 #66 #27

Golden
11 #63 #17
12 #49 #83

Average Rank
Shannon #61 #41
Golden #51 #50

Best Offensive year:
Shannon '09

Best Defensive year:
Golden '11

Worst Offensive year:
Shannon '07

Worst Defensive year:
Golden '12

You can't argue "Shannon's players" for the defensive numbers in 2010 because you question the coaching and schemes, not the talent.

Not in the same league?? The stats prove it all??
Don't think so. The numbers are inconclusive at best.

NJshoreCane,

Gallo/Calvin have zero interest in facts and will not be deterred from their mission to marginalize Al Golden.

Time and again their lies have been disproved, yet, they continue to repeat them as fact.

Of course Gallo/Calvin claim that Randy Shannon left the program in fantastic shape and the NCAA investigations hasn't at all been a problem for Coach Golden and his staff...not even a bump in the road. Obviously, anyone who would suggest the NCAA's attack on the Canes football program wasn't a brutal obstacle to overcome is either, stupid, a liar or certifiably insane...or all 3.

The Gallo/Calvin lied fill posts are going to continue until the season begins and the Canes, despite the real damage by the NCAA, begin to show real improvement, but even then when Miami wins Gallo/Calvin will criticize how they won.

Finally, I am convinced that Gallo/Calvin is a cowardly Gator fan who believes he's being clever with his act pretending to be a Canes fan at heart. No Canes fan would EVER make the comments this guy has consistently made.

Calvin once again you have proven your stupidity , To call Don Shula overrated is even retarded for you . What an idiot . Most wins in the NFL, only undefeated team , back to back superbowls ,Yea that's overrated allright. Your so stupid I think the term moron is overrated as a description of you . Go Canes

Ron Zook:
I have been saying for many months that Gallo/Calvin are gators who pretend to be 'Cane fans.

I am convinced that for cAlvina it is a Blck/White thing.

Every post (and go back to check) he will bring in irrelevant info. on Jpickney and shannon, regardless of subject, and there is a Campaign by him to bring shannon back as DC and get rid of Coach D. Why?. You guessed it.

By the way our 'U' has no need for these two and will do fine without them.

Don Shula -white and one of the best NFL Coaches ever, and cAlvina called him overrated. That did it for me!!. How stupid can one be?.
Answer cAlvina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go 'Canes

Dont forget cool cat, ugo, he called ken dorsey (38-2) overrated as well.

To all the wanna be geniuses out their who you can tell never played football in their life, they need a lesson in physics when it comes to hot & cold air when it comes to football, i'll give you morons a hint, it's not about the air it's about the football dingbats on why it travels faster in the cold, these guys are comical.

For somebody to try and say we've had a better defense under coach goldie than we did under coach shannon, now this folks takes the cake, lol. Even the most staunches goldie slurperS can't defend you on this one!

Also, to the morons who don't think shula was overrated, let's take a look, 33yrs and 347 victories, which averages out to around 10 wins a year, in the nfl, that's equivalent of someone having perfect attendance all the way thru grade school, for the most part means you just showed up. Over 22 years with no superbowl victory. This ain't Virginia tech where frank beamer winning 10 games a year for over 10 years straight, now that's a strong resume. But for somebody to have dan marino as their qb, never put a real runningback around, I mean I luv what jim Jensen brought to the team, but let's be real, you not going to far with him as your featured offensive player.

No wonder you morons are impressed with 13 & 11 coach goldie, if you think what shula did here was impressive, GTFOH. Year after year all we got from shula was excuse after excuse. Than the ultimate was shula trying to deebo jimmy Johnson from coming here. As soon as jimmy got here, we started playing real defense and had jimmy stayed and jimmy understood marino's status in Miami, so he tried his hardest to help get him a superbowl, but if it wasn't for that, jimmy was about to trade marino to Pittsburgh and come up like he did with the crazy Minnesota deal for herschel walker.

There was a reason people use to say the Hurricanes could beat the dolphins. We won 4 national championships while shula was over at joe robbie stadium with his head up his arse, and the only thing people can harp on is 2 superbowls from the 70's, k, clap clap, but 20 something years later, nothing but perfect attendance. Any coach trying to pass of j.b. brown as being some type of top notch corner needs his head examined. How long did we have to sit back and watch lankford and Judson play 10 & 15 yards off the widereceivers and watch andre reed catch 10 & 15 yar outs all game long, just like the defense we're seeing at UM now. Again, GTFOH trying to pass off don sula as some top 10 headcoach, 347 wins mean nothing, how many of those were superbowls, hell, it jimmy Johnson only 4 years in the nfl to do what took shula 9 years to do and than add another 24 years where shula basically did nothing but show up, you mediocre nimwits will elarn one day!

Why is this blog so stale? Same old story for more than 3 days, nothing new. And you have 2 writers working here?
Another thing the Gators are better than you, we have the better blog on the Herald.
The headline of this very old post is so non news, of course there's gonna be a sell out. It's the Gators dummies. Hello?
A sell out would be news any other week, like for Savannah State.
Savannah State, now that's funny.
Yo cane trash are you selling tarp to these clucks for the rest of the games? Miss you dude.

This is the most hype UM has gotten since the FIU fight. And for those arguing that the only reason attendance is terrible for UM games is because UM is a small school...consider this:

-UF has 50K-60K student population, and getting season tickets is through a lottery
-The swamp's capacity is a little less than 90K
-Gainesville population is less than 1/3 Miami's
-We sell out pretty much every game
-Notre Dame and Clemson have no problem getting fans to come out to games.
-Everyone cries about school size, and most of those people didn't even go to school there.

In Miami, you gotta give us a reason to come out, if you not playing Championship football, we can stay home and watch you with the a.c. on. Otherwise, it's other things we can be doing, unlike those country hick towns that the only thing they got going on is home games and disney world. Who cares about a crowd anyway, if a recruit is coming to Miami for the crowd, that's a recruit that doesn't understand Miami football.

You'll know if you're playing strong ball based on if the crowd comes out for the better games, otherwise, not to many people are going to come here to support trash, it's about partying and having fun at the games and we can't have fun unless the team is dominating. That style of defense that's here not is foreign to Miami, when the defense gets on the field, that's when it's suppose to be party time, we celebrate the offense we party with the defense when they get on the field, that's how it's done.

Calvin:
In. order to wrestle with a pig you have to get in the mud.

I REFUSE to do that with this debate re Coach Shula.

Answer this:
Who is the only Coach in the NFL to have an undefeated season?.

Now you GTFOH, you dimwitted moron.
D-U-M-B. Dumb has U in it cAlvina
Go 'Canes

Why is this blog so stale? Same old story for more than 3 days, nothing new. Gator Aaron Hernandez is a serial killer, and yes there's a bunch more up in Trailersville. And you have 2 writers working here?

Another thing the Canes have always been better than you cowardly gators, and we even have the better blog on the Herald.

Savannah State, now that's funny cause the cowardly gators are even afraid to play those cats.

Yo cowardly gator trash are you selling guns and knives to these clucks for the rest of the games? Miss you dude.

Undefeated season, great accomplishment, but for 33 years you only got 2 superbowl wins to show for it, if you slobbering shula, it's obvious why you sloberring goldie to, wipe your chin, your abilty to guzzle anything mediocre, you should be ashamed of yourself, have some pride. A lot of things fell into place for that to happen and when he did it, the schedule was 16 games, that's not to diminish the accomplishment, but you probably wasn't even born when that happened, so that's something that a waste of time to talk about.

33 years, only 2 superbowls, you should be ashamed for him too, seriously, WTF was he doing all of that time! You already know how many superbowls jimmy Johnson would've had had he stayed in dallas, no less than 4 for sure. In way less time.

This is the most hype UF has gotten since the Aaron Hernandez serial killings. And for those arguing that the only reason attendance is terrible for UF games is because UF is a trade school filled with felons...consider this:

-UF has 50K-60K felon population, and getting season tickets is through a pig calling
-The Septic Tank's capacity is a little less than 30K
-Gainesville population is made up of toothless Hillbillies
-We sell out our road kill food conssesions pretty much every game
-We cowardly gators would never play Notre Dame and Clemson at their place.
-Everyone cries about the awful smell in Trailerville, and most of those hillbilly people don't even bath, but go to the gator trade school there.

Hey stupid (Calvina/Gallo),

The man took teams to 6 Super Bowls.

The poor copy and paste idiot doesn't get it. These clever posts he tries to answer must be hitting a nerve with him. Not much imagination there cluck, it's not funny if it isn't real. Keep trying though, maybe someday you'll get a clue.

The brilliant copy and paste Cane get's it. His clever posts are hitting a nerve with me. I do not have much imagination as I am a cowardly gator cluck, it's not funny, but it's real. I keep trying though, maybe someday I'll get a clue...Nah!!!

A quick update/clarification as someone hijacked my name and posted above.

I do agree with ACC sucks that the Gators have the best blog on The Herald. Don't feel too bad cane clowns you are second best as far as blogs go. No one has commented on any Nole posts for weeks now. No one.
I invite some of you Cane clowns to post there so I can rip you.
I also agree with the genuine Just Sayin in that this copy and paste clown is very weak and does not have a clue.
You may be second best in blogs on the Herald but on the field you have been and remain #3.
Your annual beat down in Tally is only months away. Go ahead and get cocky like usual before you face real competition so we can bring you back to earth after we are done with you in Tally.

Right, that QB FSU has is sooo experienced.

EJ Manuel is very good. Oh wait, he was DRAFTED, and the cupboard was bare behind that. FSU is in for a world of hurt, and Miami will be just one of many teams that embarrass them.

Calvin: 'In Miami, you gotta give us a reason to come out, if you not playing Championship football, we can stay home and watch you with the a.c. on.'

Typical fairweather fan statement.

Fair weather = canefan
Bandwagon = the city of Miami
Front runner = any Miamian who calls himself a fan of local teams

Any Sell Out Alerts for FAU? No?
Savannah State maybe? Nope?
Surely UVA? Not a chance?
How about them Hokies? No way Jose?
Ga Tech for sure. Not even close?
Too bad the FSU game is away, missed another chance for a sell out.

Such is the story of No Life Stadium and the mediocre canes.
