Former Hurricane hoops star Dequan Jones takes shot at NCAA after Manziel ruling

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel got a half's worth of a suspension handed down to him Wednesday, an agreement Texas A&M and the NCAA reached because the star quarterback violated NCAA bylaw 12.5.2.1 by signing autographs.

Manziel will sit out the first half of the Aggies' opener against Rice Saturday, a mere slap on the wrist even though Manziel is accused of actually selling his signature to memorabilia dealers.

Not everyone seemed happy for Manziel -- including former Hurricanes basketball star Dequan Jones.

Jones was forced to sit out 11 games his senior year as part of the Nevin Shapiro booster investigation. Shapiro claimed that former UM assistant Jake Morton asked Shapiro for $10,000 to secure Jones, then a recruit. Jones was allowed to return to action after the NCAA couldn’t find evidence against him.

Jones, now in his second year with the Orlando Magic, took to Twitter to express his thoughts on how how quickly the Manziel mess was worked out.

...But like I stated before, when it comes to the "Institution" not being open and forthright before an open investigation by the NCAA by self-reporting, that institution will be stuck in deep mud and the NCAA isn't sending a tow-truck anytime soon...

Interesting thoughts.
Miami though, approached the NCAA after they were approached by Shapiro in September of 2010.

I like what i saw from both teams tonight, fedora is a better headcoach than coach goldie hands down. He wasn't going to outcoach the ole ball coach and like i said many times before, people keep think spurrier is just a coach that likes to pass the ball all over the place, that man has consistently had top notch runningbacks, you can run the names off year after year, tonight was no different.

Also, i can't take these thursday night announcers, jesse palmer continues to be irritating, this guy gets on a player(not a subject), and doesn't stop pointing out the obvious. Instead of giving credit to hurst, he's up there complaining about clowney's so called lack of conditioning, how stupid was that. Carrying around that extra 15 to 20lbs will do that to a player, 3g on deck and i expect to see the same thing from him.

This is why this bozo talking about all he's worried about is points allowed, i said that was all the 3-4 worries about anyway, it relies on the redzone to squeeze the offense, give up only fieldgoals down there and wait for the opposing teams offense to make a mistake on the course of a long drive. But back to the point, the more weight you put on your defensive players, the more you better concentrate on being a real good 3rd down defense, but the fatter they are, the more they'll get tired out there, but since clown 117th only thinks points allowed are the only thing to worry about, 117th again or even being 70th or higher and this will have to be his last year.

Unc is going to be another tuff acc team, they clean up those mistakes they made tonight, bombs and muffed punts, they're going to be solid and will be in the thick of things when it comes to the acc championship game.

Also, i'm going to enjoy this year from Alquadin Muhammad, as long as this regime is still here, this will be his last year being this quick, cause you already know coach goldie can' wait to get his weight up about another 20lbs by next year. Which brings me to this point, coach golide on the air talking about how when he was at penn disgrace, how he was a redshirt junior i think before he saw the field and how alot of kids just don't want to wait until it's there time.

So in other words, coach goldie is saying players these days are impatient. Well i be darn, what happened tto being patient with players and letting them grow naturally into their bodies and stop trying to add all that weight on the players in 1 year, that's what you call having impatient coaches/hypocrites.

Coach goldie talking about "tell the Truth and move forward! We have the poeple in place to get it fixed", lol, what he doesn't understand is, they don't want UM to move forward, perfect post below on why, but as long as coach goldie is here, they don't have to worry to much about that below:
///////////////////////////////////////

Someone asked why Miami was hated. Coach Schnell took the poorest kids, those who may have never attended a major university if not for him and beat the brakes off the most prestigious colleges and universities. On top of insult to injury they did their dance, talk their trash and more important they kept on winning. There were great black athelets, but not at the abundance that Miami had access to. Now you see that every major program is in our back yard mining for gold. That's why they hate the U!. Can't beat it destroy it the american way.

Also whatever punishment they come out with, if they reall wanted to punish us, they just come out and say clown 117th has a guaranteed 5 year contract with a no fire clause in it.

First of all…great post Canes4ever!

For those who insist that they don’t understand the critical importance of Coach Golden’s U-Tough program by bringing size to our UM linemen (amongst many other important initiatives he is instituting) then just tune in the North Carolina/South Carolina game.

South Carolina looks like men against boys on the offensive and defensive lines. The game announcer stated that SC’s lineman on average outweigh NC’s linemen by 50 lbs. per man. Now think about the huge advantage that allows over 4 quarters.

It appears that North Carolina put their freshmen team out against SC. The Gamecocks are much stronger than NC (their aerobic conditioning leaves something to be desired) and their first half lead of only 13 points is misleading. If these two teams were to meet later in the season it would probably have to be called at the half with North Carolina employing the mercy rule.

Coach Golden is on a daily basis taking the necessary steps to place the Hurricanes in a position to successfully compete against the Alabama’s of the college football world, which will require getting much bigger and stronger.

Good news, the morrison linebacker apologized to the gaytor country club, so all is forgiven, he can play against us now, i want us to either beat them at full strength or if we lose to them, we lose at full strength.

North Carolina lineman out weigh South Carolina by 25 pounds a man. South Carolina coach isn't asking them to dance with the offensive guy, they have them geting up field. Smart coaching.

I wish our guy was that smart. It's not like we didn't know our kids would be undersized all season long. So why ask them to dance? After UTough was over last year we knew then our guys were under sized. Don't wait until game 6 and complain about not being big enough. Coaching is putting guys in a position to be successful. Period Point Blank.

Also while you allow Jessie Paler to make your observation for you, look at the size of South Carolina's linebackers. No one over 225 on the field. But I'm sure you wouldn't identify that because Jessie didn't tell you. They are flying around out there.

On the other side of the ball

If UNC had some balls they could make plays down field on USC but since they see USC is attacking the pocket they are scare to take a chance. So there alone the fact that the d-lineman are getting up field has eliminated an area USC may be weak. Who knows how good those corners are. It seems to me when the qb settled in and was patient they made plays down field. But you have to be able to watch the game and understand these things not wait on the announcers to tell you.

BTW why is Ron Zook on a Canes board? Where they do that at.

Again, another Independent Thinker on the board in jville Canem he knows his football. All i know is, if F.A.U. comes out the gate and scores on there first drive, that's going to be comical to me.

JVille Cane,

Feel better? I hope so because your post is complete gibberish and filled with even more inaccuracies than the typical Calvin post.

Al Golden is the best coach in all of college football, which will mean soon you, Calvin and others will be changing your screen names.

Here's a hint...find a pee-wee league football blog and try to sell the kids on all of your knowledge...LOL!

JVille, I wasn't even gonna go there with him. It gets tiring. He habitually posts the EXACT opposite of reality. Everyone's a Gator but he's Ron Zook??

Zook,

I'll feel better when we play hard nose defense.

You watch football like my neice. Just listen to the announcers and repeat what they say. And I see you pointed out the inaccuracies.

BTW why is Ron Zook on a Canes board? Where they do that at?

Here's to sharing showers in massachussetts

"I like what i saw from both teams tonight, fedora is a better headcoach than coach goldie hands down"

No sh*t, you hate the University of Miami and UM football, you'd like anyone over UM's coach.

somebody please answer b4 i slap up my woman

JVille Cane,

I not only watch football with a highly trained eye...I played the game. Reading you girls posting your nonsense is hilarious because you really believe you know what you are talking about...you don't!

If any of you normal suspects were placed eyeball to eyeball with Al Golden you would be eviscerated after you peed your pants. Seriously, all the bloviating and you and the other girls know nothing...again, hilarious!

JVille Cane,

Sorry, but I forgot to mention...it's nice to know you sit around watching football with your...wait for it...Niece! That sounds about right...LOL! Do you also play football with her??? LOL!

We need to play against fla with that big east mentality. No disrespecting Fay but the second and third teams need to get alot of work. Maybe ag has that quiet confidence but its imperative that we beat fla.

enough talk......time to put up....fau is 3-9 and a 35 point underdog

this is a tuneup.....nothing more. This is the year for golden, show us what you got, especially if Morris goes down.....who did you develop since you have been here at QB?

Morris has a real shot to go in the first round of the draft. Best QB at this program since Dorsey.

J'Ville

You talking over their heads. These guys can't talk football. Notice how all of your d inaccuracies were pointed out. I saw the same game you watched my man. I was wondering when unc would bring in a extra lineman and take a few shots. I thought James Hurst did a pretty good job at tackle.

USC defense was flying around out there. Even when unc did move the ball it seemed to be a struggle. They were only getting 4-5 hard a play. Those linebackers from USC were everywhere.

Some guys are only here to challenge you to a faceoff or challenge you to a faceoff with coaches. Lol. Only a coward thinks like that on a message board.

"I don't worry about the jersey," Howard said. "I'm not going through that again. I don't care if they give me a blue jersey."
///////////////////////////////

This is the real way Miami guys think, that psychological jersey crap should've been left at temple, lol. Like i said earlier, had goldie been named the headcaoch when AL BLADES or nate webster was here, during that time and there were many others who would've told coach goldie, F a black jersey, my whole body black, now let's get back to football.

The Gallo moron is back with this gem:

"This is the year for golden, show us what you got, especially if Morris goes down."

First off, maggot, you have already said he has to go so are you now giving him another chance to "show us what you got?" So much for consistency.

As for the starter going down, there may be 5 teams in all college football that could survive losing their starting QB. 5. Are you saying none of the other 115 coaches have developed any talent?

Do you really think A&M, or the Gatr Trash, or Georgia would do anything this year if their starter goes down?

Dumb maggot Gallo.

Zook,

I'll feel better when we play hard nose defense.

You watch football like my neice. Just listen to the announcers and repeat what they say. And I see you pointed out the inaccuracies.

If he ever stop letting coach goldie ghetto gag em, he might actually be able to watch the games. This guy slurps everything goldie and clown 117th. He's the only one scared of coach goldie face to face. Coach goldie already knows what time it is when it comes to what people think about his boy clown 117th, neither him nor oach OH-NO understand defense better than most of us around here in Miami. They've never even been on a team that ever played defense at the levels we've played it at for years, so who's the one that actually needs to learn defense for real, the mac minions are coaching from a scared man's mentality, not from a confidence mentality, the Truth of the matter is, coach muschamp is more like jimmy johnson than coach goldie, if you can't play defense or don't have confidence, get off the field, coach goldie is more like don shula, cause while shula was the headcoach, he "hoped to play defense" too.

You'll never be able to play real strong defense with receivers running free all over the place and not being jammed off the line consistently.

enough talk......time to put up....fau is 3-9 and a 35 point underdog

This is the game where the back-ups should be getting alot of playing time. If james coley wasn't here, we would've been stuck with crow & dewey and getting these half-baked qb's in here. jedd fisch didn't know how to recruit highschool qb's nor does coach goldie. As soon as james coley came in, the qb's started coming in, why, because his resume speaks for itself the qb's he's coached more than jedd's!

calvin...understood....the time has come. I say golden/dnofrio need to be replaced. That has been my opinion all along. dnofrio lacks ability.....soluntion is move the guy within where he can shine but there is no where to put him.....result is ALWAYS terminate.....its a basic management philosophy...

golden wont do that therefore.....he cant be CEO of UM football...plain and simple.....this is how ALL organizations work.....

dnofrio is his hire and failed to make a change based upon dnofrios responsibility....golden is responsible.

now well see....like ive said, you cant keep losing money for the firm and still be there.

True Cane,

Yes, I knew Hurst would be fine at tackle. Apparently UNC offensive coordinator was too scared of Clowney and crew. I understood their approach to try and slow down the pass rush but once they had them worn out on drives they rarely took deep shots. That was the oppurtunity to throw it deep. They let'em off the hook imo.

Zook,

I've met Al before, was at his summer camp last year with my nephew offensive line from Raines high school. He's not an intimadating guy at all? Stood there face to face and shook hands, he's a pretty cool dude. Where do you get this evicerating and pea your pants stuff from?

Btw, yes my neice loves football she plays too. My whole family watches from Thursday night to Monday night it's football non-stop. That's why I can form my own opinon without the announcers telling me what's going on.

Calvin,

That's one of my concerns with the staff. When will they know what a real good defense looks like. I think personel wise we have the guys we need. I'm not buying this young talk. I've seen schools with a ton of veterans on defense and they still suck.

"result is ALWAYS terminate.....its a basic management philosophy..."

you couldn't manage an ant farm. what a moron.

"When you find that someone is not a good “click” for a job, get them out of it ASAP. If you are expecting/wishing people to be much better in the near future than they have been in the past, you are making a serious mistake—instead, sort the people. People who repeatedly operated in a certain way probably will continue to operate that way because that behavior reflects what they’re like. Since people generally change slowly (at best), you should expect slow improvement (at best), so instead of hoping for improvement, you need to sort the people or change the design to supplement them. Since changing the design to accommodate people’s weaknesses is generally a bad idea, it is generally better to sort the people or TERMINATE THEM"

Ray Dalio....Bridgewater Associates (top equity firm in the USA)

golden needs to update his 300 page binder, but he is a kid also....

Ant farms are the most organized and well managed places on Earth. If we could recruit an ant farms defensive coordinator to Miami, we would unquestionably win the NC this season. Those dudes get the most pound for pound and brain for brain out their troops. I wonder what the conditions of his contract would be? He'd definitely need to be up top in the booth though.

Cal, that Tracy Howard quote says it all. They're beginning to understand the PSY 101 binder now. No need to get caught up on the D'No's attempts to control due to his insecurities with performing his job duties. Howard now understand that the bravado and machismo shenanigans are just over compensation by the coaches. If he performs, he'll touch the field, period.

A coaches ability to put his kids in positions to make plays and be collectively successful is what earns their respect. Being accountable and practicing what U preach is the other piece and then there's no need for theatrics and mind games.

Substance > Appearances

Dudes have a thousand ways to visually and verbally compensate for their inadequacies instead of just being forthcoming and adjusting.

Crazy thing is that if they began to be self-reflecting instead of deflecting, most fans would begin to hate them. They're so used to arrogant and dishonest leadership, that they think those virtues: humility, honesty, integrity are signs of weakness. But then..of course they complain about the NCAA lol.

Yeah Golden isn't a CEO, but Randy Shannon sure knew how to run things. A couple of years of Shannon and we have banners over the stadium.

The season hasn't even started, yet. Bring up your already formulated opinion after the UF game.

LMAO, ROFL, dawg, i was thinking the same thing, they trying to insult the man with something that wouldn't be an insult with, these buzzards can't even insult right let alone talk football.

ROFL, now i can read the rest of what you posted!

Already formulated after witnessing two seasons of inadequacy on the field and excuses off the field. Is two years long enough to form an opinion about anyone or anything in this world, much lees football? Shannon has *absolutely nothing* to do with anything anymore, immediately referencing RS in a bad light is just another deflection strategy that they've instilled in U. RS was not a CEO. RS, Coker, and Golden are all the same inadequate hire by the true culprits. UM Board of Trustees who are attempting to get more with less. There's no distinction between Golden and Shannon when it comes to game day coaching, but discipline, grades, defensive performance, and budget numbers are quite different. RS being better in all categories except that latter. His budget reflects the administrations belief in him. And if anyone wants to argue that its too early in his tenure to judge, then why have we dedicated/invested so much money to something thats 13-11 and still up in the air (undetermined)? He has received a raise, extension, and bigger budget without (what U described as not enough evidence to judge yet) being a proven product.

So its been long enough for Golden to be financed and earn a raise, but not long enough for Us fans nor his bosses to give him a performance appraisal?

How can we expect championships conducting ourselves like this? We have become F*%$ boys on every level. Everyone is taking from Us: our style of play, money, loyalty, honor, and expectation level that every pundit (since their opinions count to y'all), fan, and opposing football program used to aspire to and admire.

Cal, Shalala would be f'ing that ant in his first week on the job.

giving golden a raise after the first year would never happen in my world.....this is the key right here...

"Sort People into Other Jobs at Bridgewater, or Remove Them from......"

1.When you find that someone is not a good “click” for a job, get them out of it ASAP.

2.Know that it is much worse to keep someone in a job who is not suited for it than it is to fire someone.

When people are “without a box,” consider whether there is an open box at Bridgewater that would be a better fit. If not, fire them.

3.Do not lower the bar.

1. there is no other place to put dnofrio
2. would firing dnofrio affect the team - NO
3. did dnofrio lower the bar at UM - YES

this is not hard green peas.....if you cant manage these basic issues...you got to go too

Standing O, when coach goldie first got here, i was hoping he didn't bring that black jersey crap here, cause it's more a negative than a positive. When you only got what looks like about 5 black jersey's, what are the other 6 starters suppose to think, hell they're starting to.

But hey, coach goldie feels good about it, than once they get the black jersey, than what, no need in walking around like you're better than the other players just because you got a black jersey on, in fact it's counter productive to team unity. Than when a guy has a black jersey on but is not effective in games, what does it mean, it means it will continue to foster mediocrity. I like what shayon green brings to the team, but he never will be a superstar, so giving him a black jersey for representing work ethic i get that, but not to many people are going to go round saying that they pattern their defensive game after shayon green. Whether dzp has a black jersey on or not, he hits black, many guys wish they could hit like dzp.

In football that's what's going to be real to players, not a black jersey. If i was on the team, i would tell them, coach, just give me a regular jersey. In fact, that black jersey would mean something more if it is awarded after a game, not during practice and what not.

Harriet man tub what you say?//////

After all that what is your point...

RS is trying to Coach not in a HC position.

Appraisal of CG would be asinine because I would like you to name one Coach who is working under the conditions he had for the last 2 years.! Appraise that against what? What parameters would you recommend?

He didn't do anything but continues to this day to lead in an honest, exemplary manner.

We CAN expect Championships on this level because this is a NEW ERA of football.
We laid the template but all Major schools use the Alabama template now.
They are what we WERE!!!!!. We will get it back but it is a PROCESS whether you like it or not.

To say "discipline, grades, defensive performance" Shannon was better is ludicrous.
Discipline when he warned his players but Shapiro was running amok.
Grades have been maintained and he did not bring the Schwartz center to the 'U' with study facilities etc..
Defensive performance on a team that had record breaking performance from a QB that is very talented, but no mentioning of the O just the D shows your biased opinion in a negative format.
Two sides to every coin 'bro.

No mention of suspensions depleting the team on D, playing red shirt and rookies on D, and the schedule, etc.

Your formulation leaves a lot to be desired. Very biased.

We would be in a mess to have had CG leave when this broke, and what would you have said?.

Probably not posting on this site but trolling somewhere else.

Man just call us when you get tired, you got this, lol.

In other words, it's like i said when shannon first took over, and i know this was mandated from the troll, but i kept saying we keep trying to distance ourselves from what made us great, in the meantime everybody else is trying to do what we already did.

It's the same way with music and alot of stuff. In music, we were basically the first ones to (now that i'm older) degrade women in music video's, now everybody is trying to do it.

Miami set a lot of trends in the U.S. not because of wanna be's, but with the actual be's. troll shalala siad it clear on the UM advertisement/recruitment video "we're recruiting a different kind of athlete to the University of Miami" so when a guy like willie williams comes around, before he even gets in the door, they got all these crazy stipulations and contracts surrounding the man before he even set foot on campus. Some idiots like to say troll shalala fought for willie williams, this is comical, lol, how in the hell did she fight for him and to who, she's the president, so who was she trying to justify bringing in willie williams too, that secretive double agent click, that make sure they're at the root of the recruitment process on who comes in and who doesn't. Also, why would she have to be that involved with his recruitment anyway, you don't have to justify why you signed someone, the problem is, UM let's people get them on the defensive and that's a True sign of an organization that's led by a female.

Instead of going on the offensive or just telling people so what, who cares WTF yall think, we run shat over here like we run it, we've been to busy the ;ast 15 years, but particularly the last 11 years trying to appease all these outsiders and be accepted by the main stream and not realizing they hated us because they wanted to be like us and everybody is waiting for the giant to wake up again cause "their is a Lion asleep in Judah" who will wake that Lion.

Exactly^^^ F a black jersey...he hits black! LMAO! Chuuch!

Calvin...the season starts today...no need for you to be here any longer. We will be laughing at you and Gallo the entire season hopefully.

Tonite the Golden Era takes off. After 2 years of laying the groundwork and over coming the tough NCAA inquisition we are finally back.
Like Ron Zook says all the time The Great Golden is the best coach in the world.
Our O is the best in the land.
And like Five Titles said our D will be in the top 10 this season.
I am pumped to see that UNC hung in with S Carolina last nite. Since we have a much better D than S Carolina we will have no problems with UNC. That was going to be one of our harder games but after last night no more.
Tonite we destroy the Owls and play all the freshmen in the second half to give them experience.
I predict an undefeated season and a date with Nick Saban for the NC.
Long live Golden!

We will get it back but it is a PROCESS whether you like it or not.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, ugoCane and like-minded Hurricane ANTS won't witness Miami " getting back to it, " with D'Onofrio hanging around in Coral Gables.

Because as a handful of loyal Miami fandom have alluded to previously, both Goldie and D'Onofrio are changing to the ' AL GROH and Goldie type of defense. '

By the way ugoCane, didn't Albert get CHIT-CANNED during the regular season last season. hUh

I guess that hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense just didn't get it done in the WEAK a.c.c. Eh. What say.

"We will be laughing at you and Gallo the entire season hopefully."

Al has really worned off on this this fan base. "hopefully"

What happen to yalls swagger. LOL

UGoCanes, The same appraisal or standards any other coach would have. What conditions? A few suspensions his first season? What has the NCAA done to him, other than conduct an investigation that he admittedly doesn't even see? Excuse, excuse, excuses, U think finding and delivering excuses on this blog makes u a real Canes fan, but you're wrong. Our team had its highest scholastic achievement numbers ever under Shannon (but i'm not gonna get draped off from the true relevant topic, which is Golden).

Yes discipline when he warned his players but the leadership above him had already been intimate with that snake, which compromised whatever RS had to say. Kids figured if everyone else is spending his money and having fun, then why shouldn't I as well. Shalala had a ball partying with him and he was buddies with the board members and trustees. Thats why he was already running amok as U say.

It is a process whether I like it or not, but the process begins with adequate coaches who understand that accountability begins with them, they have to live it themselves. Coaches that understand that defense wins championship. ESPN just did a whole segment on the SEC's dominance and how it (numbers wise) all comes down to DEFENSE! They focus on and develop defense first and foremost.

THATS NOT SABAN'S TEMPLATE ---THATS OUR TEMPLATE U TURNCOAT!!!!!

Get off his balls for once and realize that the kids of the State of Miami" are here and always will be ready for a coach to lead them (scheme and intelligence-wise) to the NC game annually!

The Offense had better to similar numbers under Shannon so why would I reference it??? Gallo puts the numbers up all the time, and I've checked myself.

Thanks for your one daily flip and deflect post of the day: calling someone racist, then be racist, misrepresent stats and facts, regurgitate the annual excuses, call opposing views "trolling" and biased--when thats exactly what yours are. Biased towards an unproven product, evidenced by the fact that the product has been financed and given a raise before any evaluations can reasonably be made on their effectiveness at their roles. But the NCAA are a**holes tho.

U dudes create monsters everyday and step back and complain. The victim role--but yall talk about people on food stamps and such. Y don't yall pull yourselves up by your own boot straps? Be a man and not a hypocrite for once.

I'm out Cal, U got this.

the problem is, UM let's people get them on the defensive and that's a True sign of an organization that's led by a female.

^^thats our problem right there. SELF-LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE! Appease, appease, and appease, thats why we are losing!

Now we have Corporate Cane fans to push this agenda in our own ranks. Process, process, I'm down with process--but at this point its definition has morphed into--annual excuse making. Yall Corporate NCAA-like process aint mine. Same excuses the NCAA are making for their lengthy, mismanaged investigation--its a processsssssssss--girly!

Everything that is done in the world is done by hope. - Martin Luther

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own. - Michelle Obama

We have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon. - Franklin D. Roosevelt

When we have lost everything, including hope, life becomes a disgrace, and death a duty. - W. C. Fields

Where there is no vision, there is no hope. - George Washington Carver

At the end of the day, we must go forward with hope and not backward by fear and division. - Jesse Jackson

"I love the KAK." Jim Gallo

What an insensitive comparison of their hope and Al Golden's considering their preceding circumstances. Golden was quoted after our 2010 bowl loss to ND, as saying that the piece are here at UM and it shouldn't take him any time to back where we need to be winning wise.

Now those quotes above are from people who were themselves or their ancestors were coming off of 439 years of slavery and involuntary subjugation (rape, breeding, murder, lynchings, in-fertilization, laws making it illegal to read a book, travel, get married, defend yourself, or to have liberty, freedom, or justice for ones self and overt systematic inequality. There's a huge difference in the circumstantial usage of that term "hope'.

Try again!

Hope was all they had (evidenced in those quotes), thats not all Golden has ever had. According to his own words, he had almost everything he needed when he arrived.

Lady Calvina probably had a very wet night with all that weight talk getting him stoked.

Btw, per Spurrier, Clowney down in weight.

Miami 45

F.A.U. 10

Other than witnessing the beginning of something special on offense this season tonight.

I'm especially looking forward to a preview of the CINCINNATI KID turning field position in Miami's favor this evening, as well as the rest of the season.

And yes, the jury is still be out on Miami's defensive coordinator for NOT ONLY tonight's game, but for games against Florida and Savannah St and naturally South Florida.

Because by the completion of the month of September, Hurricane partisans should have an INKLING of the Cane defense this season.

Thankfully for y'all D'Onofrio APOLOGIST's, the Hurricanes face four teams with WEAK team offenses in the months of August and September. hUh
