Miami Hurricanes Video: Golden, D'Onofrio, Coley, Kehoe, Green and McCord talk FAU, season opener on Monday

The Hurricanes are only a few days away from opening the season Friday night against FAU.

Here are some video clips from this morning's press conference with Coach Al Golden, defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio, offensive coordinator James Coley, offensive line coach Art Kehoe, defensive end Shayon Green and linebacker Tyriq McCord.

Thanks for the videos Manny!

Happy to hear McCord is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team like that.

Some other guys didn't want to do that, and now they are footnotes on Gallo's fake casualty list.

Gators linebacker Antonio Morrison's suspension reduced to one game

Duke will run all over the Gators!! Heard it here first.

alright, so where are the, "We're going 12-0, win the ACC and play Bama for the Championship and Shock the World" delusional Cane Clucks at ?

Come on ... uuuuuu can duuuuuuuet.

Hey, maggot. You already posted this. No one responded because, well, you are the blog Pig and get no respect.

Can Chaz Green play tackle in crutches? How about ol' "torn pec" Haifo? Didn't think an offense could be worse than the clown show the Gatr Trash put on last year. Guess I was wrong.

Pointy-eared banjo player better learn how pass in the next 11 days.

omg...there it is...dnofrio is a complete idiot....defense is all experienced and bigger and you STILL have doubts.....

golden/dnofrio not sure over FAU?

all the coaches look subdued and very unenthusiastic.....something is not right......

they all seem unsure about FAU.....I cant believe it. their temperament indicated lack of confidence in the team...not a good sign.

Coach Coley in his first season as our offensive coordinator has swagger. The other " I hope" crew with 3 years of UTough under their belts is swaggerless.

Coley states his team is where they needs to be.

My question to Coach Coley, How are you so confident with this being those guys first year in your system and the "Mac staff" is still hoping in year 3?

coley also sounds tentative.....

jimmy johnson...."i cant wait till Oklahoma comes here.....i cant wait till we play Notre dame".....

he had foam coming out of his mouth.....not one bit of uncertainty.....this staff is weak

if you read true cane ypu would lnow he left the old offense in tack. jim gallo your an idiot as usual

yes that's the problem.....when coley was hired he said he was gonna revamp the offense and go vertical with it....

heres the wind up.....if UM loses to FAU.....staff should just get in their cars and never come back.....

Jim Beirnes

So you are saying the defense is running a new system defense this year?

I do read and no where have I read about the defense changing. So if you are insinuating that Coley's reason for being confident is because the offense is the same as last year why wouldn't the other guy be confident as well?

It's swaggerless mentality, how can a guy in his first year coaching some kids in "his" offense have more confidence then a guy in his 3rd year coaching the same EXACT system?

And please don't expect the offense to be the same, terminology yes, but not the offense.

D, just out of curiosity, why WOULDN'T they be in the top 50. " BECAUSE D'ONOFRIO IS STILL HANGING AROUND IN CORAL GABLES!!! "

So why NOT expect them to be much much better than last year. And on the inverse why not expect us to fire the DC if he does NOT meet those top 50 expectations?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were U serious regarding the latter question!

LOL... seriously.

And dig this Hurricane brute! I would cherish the notion of Miami's defensive coordinator PROVING WRONG all the naysayers, and distractors among the Cane clan!!

I, also, was wrong about Hurricane McCord. Because he's not in Cane limbo and what not.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I believe Y-O-u-R

32 point favorite against a 3-9 team and you still not sure?

"I hope they are ready for FAU" al golden

True Cane, there are some reasons why the defense will be better, even with the same scheme.

1. Better offense, on the field longer, gives the defense less time on the field.

2. Better punter, putting the opposing offenses in worse field position.

3. Worse offenses that they are facing, averaging 73rd in the NCAA last year.

4. More experienced, stronger, healthier players than they had last year.

Like I told D, not saying they will be great, but just based on the numbers, their stats will be better than last year.

And I believe Y-O-u-R absolutely wrong!

I don't know why y'all major college football zealots are surprised about some Good Ol' Boy coach " punching and kicking " his player(s) around on national telly. hUh

Chit, that Herbie Cornhusker head coach literally WENT OFF on a few of his players in the past. And Go BIG ot RED neck Herbie didn't have no problems with that.

Just like y'all Cane rUffians DON'T have NO qualms with a head coach/assistant coach MAN-HANDLING his players in front of a national telly mob. Eh. What say.

Yeah, yeah I'm too SOFT and what not. So what.

Didn't think an offense could be worse than the clown show the Gatr Trash put on last year. Guess I was wrong.

What good did it do for you to have such a "high power" and "pretty offense". Speak about a clown show, you see one every time you look in the mirror.

" you see one every time you look in the mirror."

BWWWWHAHAHA. Wow. That is a good one. BWWWWAHAHA. Mirror? BWWAHAHA. LOL. ROTFLMAF. That is really a good one, maggot.

These Gatr Trash maggots. So silly in a fifth-grade kind of way.

Great videos...thank you Manny!

The coaches are confident as are the players.

Coach Kehoe favorably compared Coach Golden to Coach Schnellenberger...it doesn't get any better than that.

The players talked about the size and speed they have gained thanks to Coach Golden's 'U-Tough' program. McCord was especially interesting and it was clear that Coach Golden's and Coach D'Onofrio's coaching is not only helping him with the physical aspect of the game, but the mental part as well...simply great coaching!

Five,

If we have to rely on your 4 reasons as to why we will be better on defense them we have the wrong guy coaching defense.

It's not like our offense turned the ball over a lot last season. So being on the field a long time was because we couldn't get off on 3rd down.

It didn't matter where the offense started against us last year, we got beat from every possible distance on a football field from one yard to ninety-none yards. They could've started their drive from the locker room and would still score.

I don't recall us playing any nationally know high powered offenses last year other then maybe K-State. I haven't checked but I bet most of those teams we faced last year had one of their top two scoring output games against the canes. We made duke look like Oregon

And finally we aren't the only university with a weight room. Other teams will also be stronger and faster.

Whats up Calvin. Yeah I liked Golden then and still do. Definitely needed to name a DC though cause me no likey OH-NO!frio.
Just hoping the offense puts up a ton of points.

What up big dawg, yeah man, the funny thing is, at what school can he run this defense and get away with it. I always had a problem with them not having the #1 defense in the mac conference before coming here, so it's definitely on track when you come to the big leagues why we're the worst in college football, cause no matter what the ranking says, if you're at Miami and your defense is ranked basically a few spots from dead last, you have to be the worst coordinator in college football hands down.

I'm all in for bringing shannon back once oach OH-NO is gone! If FAU scores over 14points or get over 275 yards, sharpen up the axe, i can't take another year of us, watching our defense watching other teams keep completing passes in front of them all day long, cause we know they see it sense coach goldie and his minion brought their famous "eye discipline" to town!

Was anyone surprised the Gators reduced the suspension of their starting MLB, what a joke these schools are.

I would rather hear the truth..."although Miami is not in the SEC, winning is important to recruiting" this i can respect

I'm not even going to listen to clown 117th's video, every time he starts talking i wanna swing on em, just like i said from the first time i heard him talk, this guy has no confidence and looks afraid. Here we are going into year three and i'm real sure "he's the same guy everyday".

I listened to a real Hurricane first in art kehoe cause i know he knows what he's talking about. But i'm telling you right now, cedric the entertainer's right, coach goldie over here and all this hope talk and saying one of the dumbest things i've heard him say when he said something about, "the team is looking at this in terms of what they want to become as far as their brand" naw mofo, it's not their brand, it's yalls scheme that's going to be the brand yall are asking them to play, particularly on defense.

I'm actually not worried about an unproven james coley, he's from Miami, he'll be to competitive to look like doo-doo or continue to. He'll coach with confidence and call plays to prove it, so i'm not worried about his mindset, plus i can tell he's got that killa instinct in em like he's suppose too.

Coach goldie already looks stressed out that the seasons about to start and he knows, the days of making excuses have come and gone, it's producing time now, repeating UM history with words can't help you now, you either have a championship plan or you don't. Coach goldie talking about the players want to prove to themselves, when it's coach goldie who has the most to prove, coming in talking like he's won a championship somewhere before, it's showtime now. In order for the real UM fans to even begin to think we could actually be wrong FAU cannot be allowe to score over 14points or get over 225 yards.

Was anyone surprised the Gators reduced the suspension of their starting MLB, what a joke these schools are.

Since when did it become ok for UM fans to start becoming high and mighty and monitoring other schools discipline habits and what not, who cares who they let play over their, hell could careless if they let aaron hernandez, tebow, harvin and whoever else come back and play if we were playing normal Hurricane defense and had SEAN TAYLOR on patrol back there, although i like what i'm seeing from deon bush, although if he was a press corner, he'd be playing at a 1st roung pick level there too.

The art of recruiting highschool players and playing at the same positions as they were in highschool shows no forward thinking by coach goldie and his minions. it's actually a travesty to do that many times over.

I wonder if Coley has it in him to pull a Buddy Ryan on Gilbride. That's probably why D'No is going up in the booth. Trying to protect his grill.

lol

stephen morris and the first team offense and defense will be done by half time, resting for the Gators.

The DC has no game set plan, he's not going in the the game with a scheme nor a plan, he's got good players, some of the best players anywhere,

This guy oughta go watch some Mike Tyson tapes, U need that meanness, that toughness, that begin and end the task approach.

U got to set the tome from FAU. Make people scared of U.

FYI: U of Louisville is the second coming of Boise State. Bridgewater must beat people in the worst way. UL's scedule is soft, a lot like 'Goldy's was with Temple. Who did temple really play? Ball State? Toledo? Who else?

Boise State only plays two good teams a year. UL is heading in that direction fast.

As I write this, Bridgewater, yes the same Bridgewater that RS had in the bag, is the run away winner for the Hiesman.

kehoe never compared schnelly to golden.....all he said was both value winning but what HC doesn't?

pay attention to the accomplishments of both.....golden doesn't deserve to coach UM.....he hasn't earned it

I wonder if Coley has it in him to pull a Buddy Ryan on Gilbride. That's probably why D'No is going up in the booth. Trying to protect his grill.

buddy ryan was forever respected by me once he did that, and i wouldn't surprised if james coley starts feeling that way too. I'm sure jedd fisch had to be looking over in that direction in the duke game, i don't blame jedd for rolling out, scoring 52points and still gotta worry about whether or not the game is in the balance. jedd was our only d-co last year is what i always said. They need to move oach OH-NO and his escort service mentality over to the offensive side of the ball.

If clown 117th is going up in the booth, he might just have a chance, i've been calling for this for a long time now, he brings nothing to the team by being on the sidelines trying to look like he's has some type of exotic defense but always has that stupid look on his face like they players are not getting it and it's not him. He needs to see a birds eye view of the foolishness he's been calling for the last few years, who told him to be on the sidelines in the first place.

No one needs him trying to explain the defense in between series when you're 117th you should be barred from even talking to the players. Just call the plays, nobody's learning nothing from you defensively right now anyway.

And if this is not the case, the True UM faithful need to continue to turn up the heat!

Morrisons suspension was lifted for the UM game because muschamp knew the d wasnt what he had hoped. He needed everything he had at his disposal to try to fight off morris, duke, dorsett, lewis, and that massive Oline.lmao....i knew that was coming when he said two games and realized that included UM.

reported asked" coach this is your 25th game and the 25th time you don't know whats going to happen, arn't you angry".....

gee Tim I hope we are matured.......fridat might is a time the team can prove to themselves.....

prove what....the opponent is 3-9 and a 35 point underdog....wtf is there to prove......

I wonder what it would actually take to get a two game suspension? 3 arrests in 5 days? 4 ? 5?

lol, i luv that dunno today, dunno tomorrow, ROFL, gets me evertime, but i gotta better idea, how bout we just put iron mike up in the booth with em, forget the tapes, that's the level of seriousness we're at now.

CAlvin _ have a better Idea-

Why dont you, your alter ego harriet, your other personlaity True cane, and your babbling cousin Gallo and maybe cool cat- go up to the top of the McCarthur causeway bridge and jump head first

Do us all a favor

defense wins games and championships.
Canes still have d'o. Looooossserrs.

I'm starting to think coach goldie must be dennis erickson(nite life) the damyum thang now cause he's starting to not make to much sense. Saying things like "theirs a sense of urgency, the'rs only 14 of these games"

Like everybody else in the nation is playing more games than us. This guys keeps trying to talk like we're on some type of uneven playing field or something. Ok, i know what's happening, reality is starting to set in that somebody got their "destination job" a whole lot earlier than they can handle. Year 3 going in to the goldie regime, we cannot see the same team.

Well, we'll get to see uNC vs South carolina early in this week, we'll see how ledora does, i think he's a better coach than coach goldie, although he coming in after the butch davis situation, maybe butch is waiting in the wings as well like coach goldie was doing shannon. We all know if butch davis or even greg schiano were the headcoach here, we'd be right back where we belonged in a jiffy because they would get the band back together and cue up some real Hurricane football. This prevent defense that we run sounds just like coach goldie's press conference today, he's already in prevent mode.

Just for the fun of it, i wonder what would happen if we lost to FAU or let's say we only beat them by a touchdown or 10 points. Coach goldie was already talking about FAU like they're Florida St. or something, by trying to point out that alot of the players have played against each other before, ahhh, we already know that, but when they played against each other they played agaisnt each other with similar schemes, so it was mostly who wanted it most, now we're playing with a scheme that does not only belong nowhere near Miami, but the whole State.

2012 National Total Offense Ranking

Florida #104

2012 National Total Defensive Ranking

Miami #116

Hmmmm...Doesn't look to me neither the Gators nor the Canes have much to brag about in those categories.

This is about "Slayin' the Dragon. That's what U used to do. Bennie Blades used to stand over U of Notre Shame players and dare to the do anything.

Ryan McNeil was one of the best man covers ever at the U. Jim Kelly hands down the best QB ever at U.

JJ is in Hall of Fame for a reason. Those days and times and kinds of players and coaches are long gone.

These days, we got a totally different breed.

Florida reduced Antonio Morrison's suspension from two games to one game, because the Canes were their second game.

Another example of the Gators fear of the Canes.

Whoever thought the day would come when only four teams in the entire United States of America had a worst defense then the Miami Hurricanes last year.

Whoever thought the day would come when "so called" Hurricanes fans say " 9 or 10 wins and play for the ACC championship would be a good season. Really with that schedule?

Whoever thought the day would come when these same fans are screaming we will move up to the top 50 in defense as if that's something to be proud of. Has the standard drop that bad?

Whoever thought the day would come when these same fans are screaming we will play better defense because of a punter?

You guys are beyond sad.

Let's say, hypothetically, that you're not making up fake personalities on the internet. That you're real people and these are your real thoughts.

I can understand why people get fanatical, why they get excited about college football, it's an escape, it's fun, it doesn't really matter.

But what kind of sad, twisted, empty life would you have to have to sit there thinking and writing negative things about a college football team all day?

Jim Gallo, Calvin, 'Cool 'Cat, D - what are you doing? Why are you spending your lives trying to convince people to be negative about a college football team all day?

It's not healthy, it makes no sense.

If you're actual people that is, which most readers of this blog obviously find hard to believe.

Gators Offense went 11-2 in College Football's BEST Conference...

duh u's 'efense went 7-5 in College Footballs' WORST Conference...
