UM Hurricanes running back Danny Dillard no longer on team. Confirmed.

Yesterday it was Dyron Dye.

Now it's Danny Dillard.

UM confirmed this morning that 6-2, 210-pound running back Danny Dillard, a redshirt freshman from Bradenton and graduate of Venice High, is no longer on the team.

On Monday, when UM was practicing on Mark Light Field (baseball field), my colleague from CanesInsider, Brandon Odoi, noticed that freshman linebacker (and track speedster) Walter Tucker -- listed in the UM media almanac as 6-0 and 205 pounds and on the depth chart as 6-0 and 226 -- was practicing as a running back. He is now listed as a fullback behind starter Maurice Hagens.

According to his UM bio, Dillard was a three-star recruit with rivals.com and scout.com, the No. 35 running back prospect according to rivals and No. 62 according to scout. He finished his junior season at Venice High with 1,300 yards and 25 touchdowns.

'D' it does not matter if it was 1 or 4 years if it was not clicking , which it obviously was not . I still believe he would not have been cut if he were an important part of the puzzle . Go Canes

The SEC,

When you say " better then expected job giving the circumstances" Are you saying with the talent at Miami the past two seasons we should have only won 13 games? I hear it mentioned on here a lot about the suspensions given out his first season but remember we fielded a team that lost to the Turtles with them using one offensive play (hitch past to the wide out)75% of the game, but then come back and beat Ohio St the following week. Even subtracting those first 8 games (even though all of the players didn't miss all 8) in which we were 4-4, That still mean our record with Golden is 9-7.

Then you say
"Shannon could not coach for his life, and he recruited HORRIBLY. And if you all think that fake a55 2008 recruiting class was really a #1 or #2 class (per ESPN)"

Aren't these the same folks ranking our current class? Does that mean our 2014 class is fake?

Ga Cane,

So it's like the NFL now? We cut him if he's not an important piece of the puzzle? Is that from the "Core Values" book?

You can't keep cutting young players and complain about depth. I think that's the point guys are trying to make.

CALVIN:

" I WOULD BET ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT ANY SHANNON-COACHED TEAM WOULD BE GOLDEN TEAM THUS FAR"

i WILL TAKE THAT MFING BET NOW.

IN FACT I WOULD BET $100,000 WHICH i HAVE IN CASH, THAT IS HOW SURE I AM AND HOW STUPID THAT BET IS FOR CALVIN.

IT'D BE LIKE BETTING ON WHO WINS A FOOT RACE: SEANTREL HENDERSON,OR PHILLIP DORSETT?

ANOTHER STUPID THING CALVIN POSTED, AND I QUOTE,

" goldie has introduced a plan that he doesn't have the capability to execute. At 13-11 that sounds real accurate".......

Saaaaaaay Whaaaaaaaat????????????????????????????

So- let me get this,

Shannon, at 12-13 during the same span of time, did have a pan that he could execute?

Hey genius, how about if we put this year's team againstthe team that Shannon coached his first year that went 5-7 and lost to UVA in the Orange Bowl;'s last game something like 48-0?

Shannon's players: All but a few were Q-U-I-T-T-E-R-S
Fat, lazy, entitled, pink tuxedo wearing Canadian football playing quitters

don't think a man who is counting on winning to feed his family and boost his career is going to cut someone thats important to the program just "because" .

Posted by: Ga Cane

I'm not saying he was let go on a whim and I agree we don't have inside info to know what really happened.
But at the very least, if as you say he was "not cutting it", or it was "not clicking", then who is to blame for that? Is it the kid who has no skills? If so why the heck was he recruited and brought in to begin with? Or is it the inability of the
coaches to mold and develop that talent? We cannot afford to bring in a recruit, invest 2 years in him and then cut him in favor of a freshman. If this was a one time deal, then that would be understandable, but he is that latest of many kids we have lost this off season alone.
Again, the top programs have a farm system of many talented recruits who don't sniff the field their freshman season and are grown and developed to be used in year 2 or 3 after they come in. That is who we are competing against, or should be anyway.

I agree with Ron Zook and resent the good old boy label. Be prepared to defend yourself in the field of battle.

When you can't judge talent. The revolving player personnel is a sure sign. No excuses in 2013 . You have and had the talent to compete and win at least 12 games this year.Your Welcome

Robert E. Lee Cane and Nelson Mandela Cane, I'm dying laughin!!

^^^ So you repost that: "Golden doesn't have the ability to execute his own plan", but then go on to talk about Randy Shannon??? As if discussing RS disproves that assertion about Golden. U didn't invalidate or even challenge that opinion of Golden by going at Shannon. Saaaaaaaaaaayyyy Whaaaaaaaaaattttttt?????????

U didn't saaaaay anything.

Damn thats a great point miramar! They went to his house and school to ask him to bring the talents that they thought would fit their system to UM. They invested in and thought that those two aspects (his talent/personality/work ethic and their schemes) would fit. So its all on Dillard, even though the paid adults sought and asked for the relationship to begin with and for what he could provide their plan. Their plan for Dillard didn't come to fruition, but thats all Dillard's fault?

True Cane as I said we don't know the story behind the scenes but if Dillard was unhappy with not making the 2 or 3 deep depth chart and voiced his opinion on that we may find out that AG did him a favor letting him go somewhere else . Not saying thats what happened because none of us knows so its not fair to speculate either way . I did not mean he was no good so cut him I meant that if he was not an important part of the puzzle he basically was expendable if the the situation dictates . How can you justify paying for a scholly for someone who can't or won't contribute . That may not be nice but it is reality . Go Canes

Something happened withDillard- maybe he was bitter about the depth chart. Kids no wadays want everything now now now. Nobody wants to work hard and bide time. Everyone wants things handed to them.

This Hurricane zealot has an absolute faulty assumption regarding the departed Daniel. Nothing more and nothing less!

For instance, former Miami RB Daniel was a 3-Star recruit, and I don't think any 3-Star incoming freshmen expects to have, ' everything handed to him. ' As the latter Miami zealot mentioned.

Now, I'd think those 5-Star recruits would be inclined to have ' everything handed to them. ' As Cane partisan opined.

lol, welp, since they're going to assumptionville all the time, how about i take time out to see how that feels and can give it a go. I'll volunteer & jump to the front of the line and take an oj at it and give my sumption on why danny dillard got kicked off:

Maybe it's because he had long hair, i do recall someone mentioning something about a "culture change", maybe our boy gallo can go head and post up a list of all the players that have been falling by the wayside and getting kicked off the team with delah's or braids, i'll start the list off:

storm "f this" johnson
ray ray armstrong
eddie "bath salts" johnson
thomas "geek squad" finnie
darion hall
ricardo williams
jacoby briscoe
kelvin "i'm not going nowhere" cain

and now:
danny "wth" dillard

just to name a few, i don't know, it just might be True!

I've been saying the same thing about coach goldie and his recruiting. He's been standing up their telling us every recruiting class about how great the kids are, and how so & so is a star, and how we recruited to our core values, than all of a sudden, 1 year to barely 2 years in, they getting cut from the team. I said the same thing about why does coach goldie keep wasting all this money going out recruiting players he's going to cut next week and are the core values that coach goldie use as a litmus test in recruiting the same core values that he use after they sign.

I mean people keep saying "we don't know what danny dillard did" well alot of the people don't, but i can tell you what he didn't do: he didn't shoot back at another car that just shot one of his teammates and my boy beware wasn't even close to getting kicked off the team, in fact, that move right their evelavated em.

He didn't do #2 in some girls closet!

He didn't steal school furniture

I can name alot of didn't do's of players that are still on the team.

So maybe it is the long hair, players beware!

Ok lol! What about the slash marks? Are they better going right or left?

I swear I'll stop doing that when U post an original comment about Canes football, free of any insults or anger...Cual?/Cool?

Just some common courtesy so it doesn't take everyone so long to skip over your BS.

Calvin,

I understand you are just speculating, but I pray this isn't the case. I recall reading where Seantrel all of a sudden " got tired of his hair" and cut it off and stated all of the other guys "just followed suit" and cut theirs as well.

Calvin, your are world class at saying you knew people were going to leave----AFTER they leave.

Tell us some, or even, 1 who are here who are going to leave. And don't sat dewey.

Calvin,

I understand you are just speculating, but I pray this isn't the case. I recall reading where Seantrel all of a sudden " got tired of his hair" and cut it off and stated all of the other guys "just followed suit" and cut theirs as well.

Posted by: True Cane | August 21, 2013 at 04:45 PM

Hmmmmmmmm, u say you smell a rat. As soon as the dreads came off of seantrel, just put this under my sumption category, all of a sudden the unfettered praise seemed like it started rolling in out of the wood works from coach goldie's mouF. This is just my sumption, but maybe coac hgoldie feels a lil more comfortable when the clean cut type. How you gone come to Miami and think you're going to "change a culture" on top of that, you're 13 & 11, how he focus on that.

rayshawn jenkins needs to go head and give up that #26 jersey back, that's one jersey that doesn't need to be given out just because, until somebody actually does it justice. rayshawn is going to be alright, but once again, just like i predicted, and this is the problem i have with coach goldie and clown 117th, their inability to be able to project guys out on defense has been piss-poor. So just like i predicted, our main man tyriq mccord is non-exsistent on the depth chart.

Out of coach goldie's mouF, "no one can tell me that tyriq at 245lbs won't be better pass rusher than he is at 218lbs" Oh really now, so here's what the grand scheme told them, have tyriq bulk up and than this year, we're going to ask him to have to cover out in space, when that man doesn't even have the legs or hips to be out their in space looking useless.

Who was doh-doh bird that questioned me when i said way back when that ereck flowers will be our starting left tackle, he's as natural a left tackle as your can get, appreciate your services over there bunche:

http://youtu.be/SKm5xQyD2vE

More proof coach goldie needs to stop being an ostrich up his own arse and stop trying to act like he knows how to project Miami type talent cause he don't:
/////////////////////////////////
"waters has been noted by Golden as someone who has turned out to be more talented than they expected" and is currently listed as the starting slot WR and one of the primary backups outside. He’s in line for major playing time and a potential starting role in his future.
/////////////////////////////////

How is this man turning out to be more talented than they expected, what the hell was the expecting! Welcome to the real U mofo's!

holy cow what a bunch of babbling by the non Cane fans on this article. obsessed much?

as it turns out the guys not recruited by other programs where the ones that built the tradition at miami. while conversely the "star talent" has been our biggest let down over the past 10 years. why so much emphasis on recruit rankings? how many people have matching rankings throughout the country? and who exactly is correct? you prove to me that Jimbo or Muschamp is a better talent evaluator than Golden and maybe we will have something to talk about. Do they even evaluate talent themselves or do they just look at the pretty stars espy puts next to their names?

The NCAA will inform the University of Miami tomorrow morning that they will announce their penalties for the Football and Basketball programs in 24 hours which will be sometime Friday mid-afternoon. per ESPN sources

It's time, finally.

I think it will just be scholarship reductions. We've already self imposed the bowl bans.

Jimbo and muskrat are better talent evaluators than Golden judging by wins and loses. Both coaches took over programs that were either down are headed in that direction.Good coaches find away to win whether clouds hanging over there heads or probation. Auburn , USC and Ohio State went undefeated while on probation or bowl ban. Stop making excuses for Golden either you win or you don't. That the nature of the business. He chose to keep his DC after everything that happen last year. Could it get any worse. I don't know. Whether Golden wins or loses it falls on his shoulders. Is he the best coach for UM. Some think so..I think its all about timing. Right place right time

At this stage in the game it doesn't matter who gets the best recruits, it's who's deploying properly and putting them in the best situation to enhance there talent/s. This is where coach goldie has failed miserably defensively. It's no secret why Fsu and now the gaytors have been close or mentioned for playing for it all, because they're playing good enuff defense to win a championship, in the meantime we got people who'll be satisfied just seeing us make it in the top 25 with a mediocre defense, instead of saying when are we going to be #1 again.

If coach goldie thinks a team led by it's offense is going to win a national championship, he won't be here long. I try not to get to far ahead but it's going to be real interesting come next year, when the offense may not be able to carry the team next year and if we are still fiddling with the defense by than, going to be a long season.

IF WE COULD PLAY DEFENSE AS GOOD AS WE DISMISS PLAYERS THAN WE WOULD BE RANKED IN THE TOP 5. IF IT'S NEEDED TO DISMISS A PLAYER FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE TEAM THAN IT SHOULD ALSO APPLY TO A COACH WHO'S UNIT IS NOT PERFORMING TO THE BETTERMENT OF THE TEAM... THIS IS MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH COACH GOLDEN WHO I FEEL IS DOING AN OUTSTANDING JOB UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES BUT HE IS NOT FAIR IN HIS JUDGEMENT SOMETIMES..GETTING RID OF PLAYERS WHO DESERVE TO BE RELEASED IS NOT EVEN QUESTIONED !! GREAT JOB COACH !! BUT TO KEEP THE WORST DC IN CANE HISTORY !! WTF COACH ? EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE TEAM.. NOW WITH THAT ALL SAID I STILL WOULD LOVE TO BE PROVEN WRONG BECAUSE THIS MEANS THE CANES WILL WIN 10/11/12 GAMES AND THAT WOULD BE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE FANS!!! GO CANES!!

YOU WILL be proven wrong. No way hes the worst DC in history- I say whoever wa DC when UM went 5-7 and when they lost to UVA 48-0 in the OB in front of 70000 alumni fans and the world, then went 7-6 the following season. Guess who that might have been

Calvin is a moron- Dallas Crawford and others have dreads

And one more thing- How do you geniuses know that Dillard didnt just quit bc he was not advancing in the depth chart? Youall are assuming Golden cut him. Of course you do bc you all are blinded by hate and biased. And in the case of Calvinand others- racist.

Lots a good posts above, I'm very proud to be a Miami Hurricane this morning! This board is waking up, so it doesn't matter what the biased NCAA punishment or sanctions will be soon--as long as we're together under the same expectations--then great things will happen for our football team.

Nothing can touch Us if our "core" is truly "Utough", but that must be internal and not just in appearance. We have to play smart which leads to playing fast, which leads to wins, which leads to swagger (not "s.w.a.g."--secretly. we. are. gay--quite different from that modern day effeminate BS). The lack of accountability at the top, unquestionably trickles down to our play on the football field. And I'm talking Coach Golden when I say the top--I'm talking the UM board of elites and Donna Shalala who out our team on the back burner via chronic mismanagement, lack of oversight, misappropriation and allocation of funds up until now) and bad hires that all lend to a lack of institutional/structural continuity. Al golden would be a much better coach than he already is, if his bosses were better at their own roles, which pushes expectations up and accountability even higher. Even Shalala would be better if the board wasn't so disconnected from the product and consumers.

We can win on probation and with any other sanctions like canesallnight said. So don't let their findings create a smokescreen on our expectations. The only smoke a Miami Hurricane enjoys or embraces is the smoke that envelops as we run out of that tunnel (damn I miss the OB).

I also would like to go on record as saying that I've love to be wrong about our coaching staff and for Us to win every single game. I'd never wish bad on this team, I just have to call a spade a spade. And if most of the posts begin to be truthful (not meaning all negative at all--but more balanced), I'll become relegated back to an occasional reader). Now ask yourself...would a troll every say such things?

By the way, where has the Curse been? Its the 8 Mile/Eminem Effect. Once you begin to critique yourself (our team) in a balanced way including the negative--what does a hater and closet cane fan have to post? Nothing because U take away their ammunition when U keep it real with yourself. Dudes hate the Curse/Arty/Pig character so much but they give him life and a stage. Extremity loves opposing extremity. That stuff he posts is retarded and has me in stitches laughing--dudes be on here about to cry though??? Invite him to a game or your tailgate party--he just wants to be down but doesn't know how to take the first step.

952, it's been reported Dillard was dismissed. Glance to the too left side of this page.

I hope u aren't trying to imply that Shannon was the DC, because he was the head coach when those losses occurred.

Also, people may have just read this article to believe he was cut:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/08/21/3575634/danny-dillard-dismissed-by-hurricanes.html#morer

Its not genius. ^^See its simple reading using alphabets and applying sounds^^. Also, UM released a statement about Dyron Dye, but gave no comment concerning Dillard's dismissal (as to why he is no longer on the team). Just saying.

I meant that I'm *not* talking coach Golden when I say the top...

News Flash Clucks ... Ur 48-40 the last 7 years ...

Good thing u play 3 yearly cupcake OC games plus ur 2 Duke-Wake-BC yearly wins or u'd be 13-40 verses viable opponents since 2006... THIRTEEN and FORTY. That's 1.8 wins a year against decent teams. Really think about and mull that FACT over for a bit. That's pathetic but it's who u are and where ur at... But lemme guess, like the last 7 years, this year is the year riiieet ? And u play 2 ranked teams and 3 teams with a winning record last year this Season... []_[] and the yard gnome Donna Shalalalala put the []_[] in P-[]_[] !

Manny and Susan we have 5 pages of dumb comments on a non story. can you post something relevant?

Posted by: Bored | August 21, 2013 at 04:56 PM

Here, try this u bored one ...

"It looks like the Miami Hurricanes will have lots of potential this year like the last 8 years... There are many young redshit and first year true Freshman that will be in the mix to be top backups and """if any""" 1st. team starters go down, they'll be thrown in the fire and counted on to play multiple minutes."

And that's why by mid-season after multiple injuries to key players that happens to ALL TEAMS, u'll be, all 20k of u at No Life, or at home SCREAMING, WHO ARE THESE GUYS ? And why do the SUCK !!!

Then Goldy will be quoted in the Sunday morning Herald... Monday morning on the Joe Rose Show... Tuesday night on the 560 WQAM Canes show and then the next Saturdays Herald saying, "We have some starters banged up that can't go so we're going to have to play a lot of YOUNG kids with NO EXPERIENCE, but that's not an excUse even though I've said it all week and keep repeating that it's not an excUse even though we are playing alot of young kids that have never played College football and are learning, getting better, bigger, faster and more experience..."

deja vU u

We already self-imposed more than USC, Oregon, PSU, and Ohio State combined.

If the NCAA does ANYTHING more, after how we rolled over and showed our bellies to them, then NO school will be cooperative with the NCAA again.

But then, they will not be hitting those other schools up with major penalties anyway.

The NCAA just ruled no hardship waiver for a player who lost his father and brother in the span of two months. Logic says they should reward UM for their unprecedented cooperation in the investigation. However, logic does seem to dictate much of what the NCAA does. They are capable of anything.

I'll say this - I think the fact they are apparently announcing it on Friday afternoon before a weekend with no college football games bodes well for UM. I don't think they want this to be a spectacle. I have a feeling the punishment will be modest scholarship reductions and an acknowledgment that UM has already self-imposed sanctions and has fully cooperated with the investigation. Also, with the threat of the 5 major conferences splitting away from the NCAA, I don't think they want to come down too harshly on schools anymore. I think individual coaches will be punished severely, however. We shall see!

Golden is on a mission. He is culling the herd .With UM's natural advantage in recruiting geographically he will begin to separate himself from UF and FSU and leave them behind.Deep down this is the gator and noles fan's biggest fear.
There is a natural resentment of the Canes because of their past history of success. A return to greatness is coming and once the train gets up to full speed we wont see or hear from the UF and FSU fans as they will be too embarassed to come on these blogs.

boss cane-

ND played for the NC. Last time I checked there were three things that occurred in thatgame that would have turned it into a NON BLOW OUT:

1) Phillip Dorsett drop of a TD
2) Phillip Dorsett drop of a TD
3) a horrible 4th down penalty on our D taht turned into a TD

KSu was ranked 1-3 all season long

So you cant compare those 2 losses to the 5-7 season coached by Shannon. THAT was the worse UM team since 1975

Calvin's man fetish now extended from weight obsession to hips. What a jerk off.

Lady Calvina only makes predictions after they happen. Golden is surprised that some people develop better or faster than expected, but not ole reliable lady Calvin. After seeing how they perform, he is always right.

And no one "mentioned" the noles ot gayturds playing the NC last couple years. And no team has played with ongoing NCAA torture over their heads.

What a marble mouf Randy drooler.

Every NCAA football team has discussions with players regarding where they stand. If a guy really wants to play and is 3rd or 4th string, he can either work hard and hope that changes or move on. Dillard, who was supposed to be the big back, but runs real soft, chose to move on. Good for him and good for UM.

Nobody took his scholarship away. Nobody kicked him off the team. Just reality.

Holmie, you got that right. If I were the AD, I'd have fired RS the night of the 48-0 Orange Bowl finale. The gut couldn't motivate anyone. Never saw a team repeatedly quit on a coach like that. Oh and Randy, the UVA tight end is still wide open.

Football is not that important to troll shalala, the pattern with here is clear, when she left wisconsin, their football program got better, as soon as she got here our football program went down. Her core values are clear "we're recruiting a different kind of athlete to the University of Miami" is her continued mantra.

Of the last 3 coaches 2 were the kind of headcoaches that have their hands tied just like she likes them to be. shannon for sure was up against but being a first time headcoach, his hands were tied here. Coach goldie, at 13 & 11 and not really established as a winning headcoach going in to his 3rd season where he knows just like everyone else, a major jump in the performance of this football team needs to take place, he knows it just as well, so his hands are tied because of his own confidence level, he doesn't have the ultimate confidence because he doesn't know yet if he or what he's implementing is a recipe for a championship football team, you can preach certain things all day long, but until it's actually done, you just blowing alot of hot air. And we all know "thee incompetent one" before those 2 hands were tied because of his own incompetence. He had no excuses, got left with some of the Greatest talent ever assembled and ran it into the ground with self arrogance, which is why he fired guys who no matter what knew how to stand on their own two feet.

For a guy like art kehoe to get fired, sue the school and than be able to comeback and coach at that same school again, that tells you a whole lot about the kind of man he is, these are the type of guys that helped to make UM champions, he believes in coach goldie and rightfully so, but if belief don't turn into a national championship or playing for one, that's going to run it's course real quick.

Hey moron, coaches run football teams, not presidents.

What did Shalala have to do with wisconsin football?

What does she have to do with UM football?

Tad Foote's mantra was "we shouldn't try to be #1 at football", how did UM win championships with him as president if presidents make any difference whatsoever?

Is Alabama good because of Nick Saban or Judy Bonner?

Mountain,

You do a great job of keeping Calvin relavent with your post.

Both Auburn and Ohio St had undefeated season with NCAA torture over their heads. Oh let me guess you are referring too the negative recruiting? It's been happening since the 70's. If not negative recruiting then what? How come the offense didn't seem to struggle with the "NCAA torture" over it's head?

Btw, Randy was my guy, it didn't workout so I wish him the best in Arky land. I gurantee those linebackers will be flying across the field making plays.

Did Randy not recruit well? I'm sure some will say so, but please not tell me Golden does because where his class is ranked. FYI: The same folks that has Golden class ranked that high also had Shannon's class ranked where they were.

Did Randy struggle on the sideline? Yes he did. but I haven't seen one instance where you can validate the current staff as being light years better.

Does Golden give a better halftime interview than Randy, yea sure he's a politician, Golden gets an A+ for that.

Is there one instance over the past two season where an in game adjustment was made? I'll wait

But enough with the non-sense, last years Miami defense was and hopefully will be the worst to ever set foot on a football field. How can we let the Duke Blue Devils score 45 points? That's the Blue devils with no Hurley, Grant Hill or Laetner. On top of that Boston College took us to the wire, they finished the season with 2 wins? It's childish to sit here and say Randy "he tightend is still open" when against the Turtles a couple years ago we allowed a team to run a hitch 75% of the game and beat us. Not to mention how last year we couldn't stop a nose bleed. I hope last year wasn't an indication of how "motivated" guys play defense.

And where did you read Dillard chose to move on? The article posted states he was dismissed.

True Cane - doubt anyone has ever said Shannon couldn't recruit and you're right about him being bad on the sideline and bad with the media and especially with the fans.

But you missed the one thing that everyone agrees was Shannon's biggest problem and that's player development. Players didn't get better from freshmen year to senior year. Then many of them flourished the second they got to the NFL.

Whether or not Golden is better in that department obviously remains to be seen but early returns look good.

The jury is still out on Coley, but Fisch was much better than Nix or Whipple. Kehoe is an upgrade too. I think Golden is a better recruiter than Shannon and a better "gameday coach," but he has not proven yet that he is better at developing players. Chickillo regressed last year. D'Onofrio thus far is a disaster. This year will answer whether Golden and his staff has what it takes. At a minimum, this team should win 9 games with the schedule they have. Golden does not need to beat UF (although beating them would solidify his job for a long time), but UM needs to at least make it close. No excuses this year. I want to see an aggressive defense. No more prevent up until the opposing team gets in the redzone. If the players still haven't learned how to play anything other than a base defense, that's on the coaching staff.
