AP football poll out: UM out of Top 25 by one spot. Canes are ranked 26th, But UM tied for 24th in coaches' poll

The Hurricanes are just out of the Associated Press Top 25 this week, with 127 points to USC's 135.

I thought they'd squeak in.

However, the Canes are tied for 24th with TCU in coaches' poll.

Either way, if Miami beats the Gators, who dropped today from No. 10 to No. 12 (FSU is now No. 10), the Hurricanes will be in the poll -- and maybe (probably?) in the Top 20 AP.

Do you think, in the long run, that it's better for UM to go into this game unranked?

Or does it not matter one bit?

The ONLY thing that matters is whether goldie and d'o will use a real Cane attacking defense with four down def. linemen and moving LBs up close to the LOS, and use a tight, close man to man pass defense.

Or whether goldie and d'o will continue to force the Canes to use a LOSING no win, 3 down linemen, LBs 5 yards off the LOS, and a worthless zone NO pass defense and help the gators shred the Canes and wallop Miami the way the Pitt coaches helped FSU whip Pitt with their prevent-the-win ZONE prevent defense.

You will find out the first time the Canes are on defense on Saturday. At the beginning of each play, count the number of Canes def. linemen with their hands on the ground and in a sprint stance ready to crash into the gator backfield. Count the number of yards from the LOS to the middle LBs. Watch the defense on the first gator pass play. Are the Cane players inside the shirts of the gator receivers or are there big patches of green grass between the gator receivers and the Cane defenders?

tick ... tick ... tick ...tick ... tick ... tick ... tick ... tick ... tick ... tick ...

u sssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

Gee, I thought Curse Piggy never posts here....

What matters is that U are unranked and will remain unranked for the forseable future.
Your future is pain
and suffering
"But we beat FAU, doesn't that count for something"
dUmb clUcks

^^^^^^
awwww. Angry? It's not my fault the UFailure is located in toxic waste dump.

Any more victories like last Saturday and the Gatr Trash will be ranked 40.

Curse. Piggy. Loser.

Gators drop after a win, lmao...prepare to drop some more next week. Our pass rush is better and toledo was all up in driskels face. Plus U have to face Duke. On top of that U have to face Famous Jameis. Did you see that kid play. 2 ACC losses, book it!

Joe Rose,
Great interview with coach Golden, you asked him the question I've been waiting to get the answer to. And expectingly he didn't answer. In year 3 is the talent on his team (Hurricanes) just as good as what the gators have? He ducked. As expected. He has to leave himself some wiggle room in case we lose. I'm not sure about many of you all but I would love to hear my head coach say yes, "I think we have just as much talent as they have."
But if he says that then that would mean this game would come down to coaching. And of course if we lose it's never his fault. Al is a pretty smart guy.

Accountability starts with the head coach
Coach Golden.

Coach Golden,
Fux the Gators and all those hillbillies making the ride down 95 to see the game. We have enough talent to be them chumps.

I don't remember hearing the siren blaring on FAU's third downs. Have the Canes finally listened to CanesFan72 and gotten rid of it?

And the SEC was exposed as top-heavy. Outside of Bama, LSU and maybe South Carolina, the league took a pounding especially the SEC LEast.

Vandy? Done.
Kentucky? Loses to WACKY WKU. BWWAHAAHAHA
UGA? Done.

Missy State? Pounded.

It will get worse but you can still chant, SEC! SEC! SEC!

Ignorant 'necks.

Gee I though I wrote, "...hasn't even been posting..." How that magically becomes that he "never" posts is beyond me... same ole slight of word and eye tricks--to no avail.

The recent history of this program is that once the team gets praise heaped upon them, by various forces, they tend to believe it and come out flat. Golden is trying to change that culture and uses terms like "internally driven" to describe what he wants in the public sector. That is why he cant answer that question, as he know who is listening...

If this team had been ranked it might've taken that chip off their sholder, they need the motivation, so I am glad they are not ranked in AP.

And the ACC was again proved to be top-heavy. Outside of Clemson and FSU the league took a pounding especially to the SEC.
Bama destroyed the fourth best ACC team VaTech
South Carolina demolished 3rd best ACC UNC.
Only Clemson delivered a close win against UGA
This week it will be mediocre UM who gets pounded by Florida. SEC has 6 teams in the top 12 to the ACC 2.
More evidence that the ACC sucks

It will get worse but you can still chant, SEC! SEC! SEC!

Ignorant 'necks.

Also, TC - if Golden says his team has more talent, it just gives the Gators more "bulletin board" material. I hope he is telling his team privately that they have the talent to beat the Gators, but they have to outwork them this week and during the game to win.

The wussiesfication of My Hurricanes has even spreaded to the fan base. sigh.

Hey, Gatr Trash and the rest of you losers.

Get. Off. Our. Jock.

I like to lick Jim Gallo's butthole.

I think these arrogant gator fans are going to be in for a rude awakening this Saturday.

Nation, say hello to Duke Johnson and Stephen Morris

ssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Curse Piggy Soldy says to his boytoy when he holds him tight.

There is no better time than when I have my boyfriend in the 69.

I love these posts! I thought the Canes would have cracked the poll. It should help with that chip of being unranked. Thought the defense actually played pretty well. Offense will be alright. I predict a low scoring game. 17-3 or 21-10 type game.

I don't believe that it matters much where you are ranked this early in the season. The real importance of rankings comes later in the season.

One thing I don't like is this "White Out". I'd rather see all green or all orange uniforms for Saturday.

all white uniforms in noon to 3 o'clock sun and humidity makes a lot more sense than dark orange or even worse, all green.

White Out? Call in the revs!

To Cane Fan 72 - Miami will play more aggressively when they have more trust in the defensive players on the field. Fla. is more aggressive with their secondary because they have better players back there than Miami. Highsmith and Rodgers and Jenkins are great kids, but UM doesn't trust them to be close to the line of scrimmage. Jenkins has great potential, but he hasn't gotten there yet. UM still lacks faith in their corners playing aggressively, but they are getting closer to cutting them loose. It does seem that UM's linebackers are a long way from the line of scrimmage.

I'm a Canes fan and season ticket holder but if we don't play a better game this weekend (against a top 10 team that's at the top of the best conference in college football)than we played against the absolute bottom of the pathetic Sun Belt/C-USA, we will definitely lose. We won't be blown out (because Florida's offense is so pathetic they really couldn't score against St Thomas Aquinas), but we will lose this game. It's gonna take a Herculean effort on the part of EVERYONE on our team in order to get the W in this one! Anything short of that and it's a guaranteed L.

"against a top 10 team that's at the top of the best conference in college football."

Well, a good team but not top 10.

I prefer to go into this game unranked, we have to earn our spot and this game is how we earn it.

Headline asks:
Associated Press football rankings out today at noon. Will Miami Hurricanes be in top 25?

And the answer is:
Heck NO U bunch of clUcks
U only beat FAU
everyone beats FAU
same ole cane clUcks

Poor Curse Piggy, with his daily, hourly, obsessive lies and whining, trying to get his last chest puffing out, before that one win in the series in 25 years becomes a forgotten footnote.

BTW, we ARE ranked by the coaches, so just like in everything in your pathetic name-changing life, you were wrong.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Once again, a TYPICAL MANTRA from a Canespace'R. hUh Nothing more and nothing less. dUh

FWIW canespace visitor. Miami's current defense ISN'T " aggressive " in design and what not. Because, it's a product of BOTH Goldie and D'Onofrio's upbringing in the college football ranks! Eh. What say.

So even if the Hurricanes had a couple of potential N.F.L. 2nd or 3rd rounder's in the secondary. The defense still WOULDN'T be an aggressive defense, in STARK contrast to the VINTAGE Miami " 4-3 " defense of seasons gone by. dUh

Because whether you're in a 3-4 or 4-3 determines how aggressive you are.

That's why Alabama's defense is such a STARK contrast?

dUh. Bloody retard.

Miami 31
Florida-21
We are faster

According to the OFFICIAL prestigious N.C.A.A. statistics wing. Miami has taken a mighty GIANT step in team defense and has made a slight move upward in team offense.

No. 20 Miami- total team defense

No. 30 Miami- total team offense

Yeah, yeah it's only the first game, and what not, and it was against an atrociously WEAK opponent, but at least y'all Cane brUtes FINALLY have something to brag about!

By the way, the Hurricanes finished... NO. 35 in team offense last season. So even if the offense wasn't absolute clicking on all cylinders. At least Miami's offense made a tiny move upwards. dUh

The MIGHTY Gators are now a... -3 1/2 point road chalk. hUh

That's a 1/2 point movement from yesterday, which indicates HEAVY wagering is going on Florida.

Look for more money to go down on the MIGHTY Gators as the week progresses.

By the way, I stated with SAGACIOUS, clarity yesterday that Florida would be a game time... - 4 point road favorite. Get outta' here, Dork!

JJ you got it right. Sunny D you too. Outwork and outhustle, and outplan.
H. Tubman you have no idea of what you speak.

We have been through the "pink pimp suite at the Heisman stage". Also you might note that this team is an "US" team NOT a "ME" team.
The Coach is all about getting all on the same page by talking opponents and the process, NOT individual praise.
Why don't you take a page from Duke Johnson and just say I may be talented but in order to win it takes a team.

Hard for you to understand.

You and D just need to chill and stop the stupidity of posts that show IGN******.
The 'U' will be up for this game. Fine tuning and ready.
Go 'Canes

You are insane and bloody borderline retarded and what not.

Eh? What say.

Also, TC - if Golden says his team has more talent, it just gives the Gators more "bulletin board" material. I hope he is telling his team privately that they have the talent to beat the Gators, but they have to outwork them this week and during the game to win.
Posted by: Sunny Dee | September 03, 2013 at 01:02 PM

With respect Sunny Dee, Rose didn't ask golden if his talent had more talent, he asked if he thinks we have enough or similar talent to compete now. Rose didn't lead him into bragging or boasting, so Golden didn't need to evade giving any bulletin board material. Also, since when do we care about providing bulletin board material? This is what rivalries, especially this one is made of. The issue is the lack of confidence we (coaches, players, and fans) all have in backing it up. Hope he is too. We shouldn't have to hope that a Miami Hurricanes coach would be instilling confidence and motivation in our team. We should know that as a given. And please don't misunderstand what I mean by "confidence and motivation." I'm not talking lip-service, speeches and chest pounding.

There is no greater confidence builder and motivational tool than an intelligent, workable (the kids can execute it successfully--so they believe in it) well-planned and adjustable scheme or strategy on offense and defense.

If the game plan makes sense then the kids feel smart, when they play smart--they begin to play fast, when they play fast they begin to make plays, then the worry bug, self-doubt, jitters, mental errors go away and they play on auto-pilot and the games become a feeding frenzy (this is what U see when Bama plays).

The opening line on the Miami vs. Florida OPENED with the MIGHTY Gators as...

Florida - 2 point road favorite. hUh

However, the WISE GUYS have put down HEAVY MONY on the Gators, and said HEAVY wagering has moved the line by... - 1 1/2 points. Bloody ouch!!

Who knows, perhaps their will be an OPPOSITE line movement as the week progresses. Eh. What say.

The 'U' will be up for this game. Fine tuning and ready.
Go 'Canes

Posted by: UGoCane | September 03, 2013 at 02:38 PM

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well D-U-H do you think Miami will be ready for this game.

Your comment has to be one of the absolute most STUPID comments in awhile... the ' U ' will be up for this game.

Next time post SOME NOTION Hurricane partisan DOESN'T already know about! hUh

Points , stars , rank, blah blah blah.....just beat the gators and get a w in the only column that counts.

Joe Rose didn't ask Golden to praise or even insinuate that Golden should praise the team individually or collectively.

If this is a "US" team, then why does Golden continue to use the words, "they, their, and them," instead of "we"? I can't make this up, its in print and on audio.

Golden sounds just like Shannon (dull, aloof, unprepared and emotionless)--I honestly don't see any difference. Sorry. JMO.

If Miami wants to be relevant again, they need to win this game. Not come close to winning. Win. I don't have a strong opinion about whether or not Miami being ranked or not will help or hurt them. I would lean toward helping them. Gives them a slightly bigger chip on their shoulder. But regardless, Miami needs to be excited about this game and bring their A+ game. They will not beat UF unless they play a perfect game. UM is still not where it needs to be in terms on top talent, but winning this game will put them back on a lot of people's radars...including top recruits. I can't wait and am hoping for the best.

Don't worry D, thats his once daily: cheerlead, state the obvious, regurgitate someone else, "Go Canes" post. Its still daylight, so he won't be back until nightfall. Vampire Life.

Its gonna be hot and humid and those gatahs are gonna be in dark blue jerseys? HEATSTROKE! Maybe hernandez will run around barking....wait , that doesnt take a heat stroke to happen. Still would be funny. Lets sing em out like we did bosworth. Bye,byegators were glad to see U go!

Hurricanes senior right guard Brandon Linder was the ACC’s co-offensive lineman of the week for his contribution to Johnson’s 186-yard rushing performance and Miami’s 34-6 win over Florida Atlantic.

His offensive line paved the way for 303 yards rushing – 8.0 yards per carry – and three rushing TDs against the Owls. Miami produced 503 yards of total offense, the Hurricanes’ third consecutive game with 500-plus yards of total offense dating back to the 2012 season.

Linder graded out at 94 percent with five cut blocks, three pancakes and no sacks allowed.

Golden is Einstein compared to Shannon. IF you can't tell the difference, you are beyond a moron.

BTW, we ARE ranked by the coaches, so just like in everything in your pathetic name-changing life, you were wrong.

WE ARE #24
WE ARE #24
WE ARE #24

feel better now dUmmy?

"Miami produced 503 yards of total offense, the Hurricanes’ third consecutive game with 500-plus yards of total offense dating back to the 2012 season."

Could it be because the Hurricanes played 3 consecutive doormat pansies?
Let's find out.
USF, Duke and FAU
Yep that is why

Gators cant compete with the big east and they are here talking crap?
