AP football poll out: UM out of Top 25 by one spot. Canes are ranked 26th, But UM tied for 24th in coaches' poll

The Hurricanes are just out of the Associated Press Top 25 this week, with 127 points to USC's 135.

I thought they'd squeak in.

However, the Canes are tied for 24th with TCU in coaches' poll.

Either way, if Miami beats the Gators, who dropped today from No. 10 to No. 12 (FSU is now No. 10), the Hurricanes will be in the poll -- and maybe (probably?) in the Top 20 AP.

Do you think, in the long run, that it's better for UM to go into this game unranked?

Or does it not matter one bit?

Complete domination comparing offenses, and pretty much a push comparing defenses. Not based on hype, or last year's stats, but on the here and now. Gator's big claim to fame is their PUNTER, and our guy is not too shabby himself. The FAU punter did better than Christy last week.

Yep, seeing the Gators plummet begin after all the offseason chestbeating is a wonderful thing. You finally got something RIGHT in your miserable life, and I had to spoonfeed it to you, fool.

The only way UM beats UF is with a diversified offense. I say keep playing the WER who had the drops. he's a freshman and was nervous. Players like that eventually show up. I'm not sure if Morris has it in him to just throe=w screens, even if it means breaking a play. U got to do something to keep the D off balance.

Defensively: DunnoToday, DunnoTomorrow, JustNeverWillDunno.

"With respect Sunny Dee, Rose didn't ask golden if his talent had more talent, he asked if he thinks we have enough or similar talent to compete now. Rose didn't lead him into bragging or boasting, so Golden didn't need to evade giving any bulletin board material..."

HarrietTubmanCane - if that is the case, he should have said, yes, I believe we have enough talent to compete now. I haven't heard the interview myself so I probably should withhold judgment.

As for comparison of the two teams, here is my assessment:

OFFENSE - CANES (by a decent margin)

DEFENSE - GATORS (by a big margin)

SPECIAL TEAMS - CANES (assuming Duke plays some)

INTANGIBLES - CANES (Canes have an extra day to prepare, do not have to travel, are playing at home in conditions they have been training in all summer, and are coming off a weaker opponent).

COACHING - This is the big question mark. As of now, you have to say GATORS. Muschamp has only been a coach for two years but he already has some impressive victories (South Carolina, TAMU). Golden's signature wins have come against a down OSU and down Va.Tech.

PREDICTION - Canes 24 Gators 20. This game means much more to the Canes than Gators. This is a chance to turn the program around. This is the biggest game of Golden's coaching career. The same cannot be said for Muschamp. I would hope that the coaching staff has spent an enormous amount of time game-planning for this game during the off-season.

Canes will have a tough time winning Saturday....The U has always played better when they are huge underdogs. - I hope over-confidence doesnt come back to haunt them! Florida will come ready to play!! Get ready to see "pound the rock"...they will run and run some more! Can the U get off the field on 3rd down?

Evidenced by what? Since the difference is so apparent it shouldn't be that difficult to substantiate your claim. Remember U can't use appearance based reasons since they tend to be subjective. Just use stats and results. I'll wait.

The only difference I see is their pronunciations of the word "freshmen" and Shannon's love for the phrase 'flying around."

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Well Einstein, I witnessed Goldie and D'Onofrio take over a team with a winning 7-5 regular season record, and then proceed to finish... 6-6 in 2011.

Yeah, yeah Miami absorbed a lost against the Celts in the frozen tundra of El Paso. So what!

And I-F both Goldie and D'Onofrio are the college football SAVIORS, y'all Cane loyalists absolutely claim they be!!

Then that particular 2011 Hurricane should have finished with a similar winning record of... 7-5. Or dare I bloviate... perhaps a 8-4 record in 2011. Eh. What say.

But instead, both Goldie and D'Onofrio were bloody OUT COACHED in at least THREE GAMES in '11. hUh. Get outta here with that bogus crap, outsider!

Nevertheless, the JURY is still out on both Goldie and D'Onofrio! So I give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being. What!

Of course it's not for Muschamp and the Gators
they have much better games ahead and they have played much bigger ones the past two seasons

So if desperation is an advantage then U have it

Talent and coaching wins U games and the Gators have more and better of those

Then there is the delUsional #1 doUche maggot No Mo Titles

Yo what a load of ibis manure is that
Funny thing is this clUck is serious
he really believes this crap
The punter is the claim to fame
Not the brusing running game that will wear Ur efense down in the heat
Not the top 5 defense that will shut Ur over rated O down
No, it's the punter, and the Owl punter is better
Good job maggot U r the typical delUsional cane dUmmy
U give real fans like SunnydoUche a bad rap

Yo Golden Retriever this is the biggest game of Ur life
What ya gonna do?
"Our punter is very good"
"Mark Donofrio is doing an outstanding job, that is why we made no changes on D from last year"
"We are UStrong we lift a lot of weights around here"

Pathetic
LOOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, it begs the bloody question (Directed at Sunny Dee and like-minded Cane cohorts. )!

Can BOTH Goldie and D'Onofrio handle the pressure and national spotlight of coaching in the BIGGEST GAME of their CAREERS. Eh. What say.

I say you're a retarded stroke victim.

Eh. What say. Bloody spaz.

ssshhhh ... ssshhhh .... sshhh ... shh ............. ss

What's a looser? Is that the way gator fans like their sisters panties?

You're guilty of being a stroke victim.

Eh. What say? Bloody retard.

Let me make this clear for you retsrded gator alumni and hillbillies who call yourselves gator fans:

UF beat Toledo 24-6
UM beat FAU 34-6

FAU>>>>>> (this means they are better) Toledo

Thus STFU b/c UM has a better team than UF

Has anyone read Calvin, cool cats, Harriet or Gallos posts yet?

Didnt think so

I do agree that Famous Jameis is the real deal. Perfect fit in that read option of Jumbo Fischer- I am afraid he may be the next Charlie Ward- problem for them is, UM is now post NCAA sanctions based on their 2014 recruiting/ unlike the mid 90s when UM was just entering sanctions

" INTANGIBLES - CANES (Canes have an extra day to prepare, do not have to travel, are playing at home in conditions they have been training in all summer, and are coming off a weaker opponent). " SUNNYDEE
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aU contraire Hurricane partisan.

Miami WON'T have the so-called home advantage. Because AT LEAST 40% of the mob will be donning the Gator colors. Get outta' here with that conspiracy crap, Wacko.

And it's not like Florida is traveling to Chicago, or the west coast, for instance. dUh

Heck, dare I mention that both teams have been training in the Sunshine state heat and humidity.

Even the fee, fi, FOES intangible FAVORS the mighty Gators, because Toledo was/and is the overall STRONGER opponent.

D I know that you are spazzing but that is your style!! Eh, what you say eh.

The 'U' will be ready BIRDBRAIN by :
Preparation Intensity for the Turds. Biggest game in 2 years.
Game Plan. New OC new ideas
New plays drawn up that have not been shown. Expected on O and the D
D ready to sub and show what we have not yet seen in 2013. We now have bodies we can rotate.
What more do you need for the use of "READY".

LFOL you are such a confusion eh, you need to put your head back on if you can find it....Eh?...Oh Eh...
Let's have an ode to you by Trash eh?/////
Dimwit.
Go 'Canes

It will be nice for the Canes to actually fill up that stadium they share 30 minutes from their campus. Of course, it's only b/c the huge fan base of Gators in south Fl will be there.

We don't need to come down I-95....were here

I guess you and like-minded Cane rUffians haven't heard the news today. dUh

Florida has played in BIG GAMES the past two seasons, and the Gators won't FORGET to bring that... " Intensity thing and what not. "

And please oh Wise bUbba... both teams will bring on the " preparation intensity " in practice this week. DOUBLE dUh!

Again, of ALL the tangible/intangibles among these two teams. The squad which has the better head coach and defensive/offensive coordinators will win Saturday's national telly game. Eh. What say.

Rankings don't matter. Just win, baby.

Starting to feel the offense has to play particularly well to win, because that's our only clear-cut edge. Pass and catch has to be on point.

Can't expect to just go toe-to-toe with these guys. Ball control is what they do.

HARRIETTUBMAN, Canefan 72 & True Cane, way to hold the line. Man when i saw somebody the other day say in a happy way "we should be in the top 25 this week" man that's an embarrassment. If we not in the top 10 like we were when randy shannon was in his third year as the headcoach, i could careless, we should always be vying for that number one spot.

True Cane, you already know coach goldie not confident, he probably wanted to say "i hope we have just as much talent as they do" but you know what he wants to say but he know he can't, unlike the Fsu game where it was easy for coach goldie to say after the game "It's alright, they're a lil bit ahead of us right now" man, when i heard him say that, i wanted to slap the crap out of coach goldie, you conceding shat now to them.

If somebody ask you if you have just as much talent as the next team, and you comeback with that weak answer, but just as alot several of us predicted, this guy would start trying to milk the nc2a investigation. But guess what, the excuses line is starting to thin out. It's one thing to blame stuff on the investigation and basically doo-dooing on the players you did get by basically saying, "because of the nc2a investigation we couldn't get there players we wanted to get so the guys we have now are not that good".

But let's say that was True, how come, i'm watching the FAU game, and i see FAU playing harder than we were, i was more impressed with the way FAU was playing us than watching us, because they came to win. We don't play on both sides of the ball like we come to win.

If we only putting up 34 points against FAU, we'll see what happens at high noon come this saturday!

You have to win the Florida Championship of all of the Florida colleges before you can win the NC.

The road to the NC always go through Florida. Miami has 5 NCs and three slight misses after blown ref calls at ND and against zero state. Gators have 1 and 1/2, semi holes 1 1/2

Oh for the good ole days and coaches who knew the difference between a man to man versus a zone NO pass defense.

D-z Nutz!

Yo, D on Ur chin!!!

Eh-what say COUGH COUGH!!!

It is too early in the season for rankings to matter - In the past few seasons we have either been unranked or lowly ranked to start the season - only to win and then folllow it up with a bad losses. This proves early season rankings don't matter. That said, a win this week would certainly get us into the rankings... Where we are ranked may be determined by how the game plays out.

I am not going to pretend to pick who is going to win on Saturday.

I will address Calvin's comment about only putting up 34 on FAU.

DP drops a TD Int...7pts with the PAT we are at 41-6

I will give the DB the pass break up in the endzone for the first TD Drop.

If #3 is not in his first game with big eyes and bigger inner thoughts saying, "...where is everyone at..." he most likely does not drop that TD Pass over the middle on a deep slant...7pts with the PAT we are at 48-6

Duke got stopped inside the 5 and I will give that to the FAU D, and chalk that up to something the Offense and the OC have to fix.

I looked at the later in the game run #7 had at the goal line. I am pretty sure that was a TD and would have been ruled a TD if reviewed (don't know why it was not other than UM pretty much had the game in hand). If nothing else, that is a TD with #7 not being a new to the game and giving it some more effort...7pts with the PAT and we are 55-6.

I watched all the UM vs FAU and all the UF vs Toledo games.

It was very difficult for me to tell and compare the UM win vs the UF win.

I saw a more dominant UM D than what I saw from UF. I am not saying UF did not come to play and does not have a decent D. I saw Toledo not be able to make plays they should have made, and I would expect UM to make, as UM has a better Offense than Toledo.

I think UM's Offense is better than UF's from what I saw. UF had a great day from it's back up RB and I would expect the starter to be even better, but I did not see much in the way of explosive plays and I expect the UM Defense I saw agains FAU to play significantly better than Toledo's.

The issue with the UM Faithfull and those who I question their sanity and on this Blog is we have been let down so much since '01 & 02 that we really do not have an objective view of what reality is...we all have our thoughts and view points per our perspective and our Inner Coach...that our bias is totally skewed or screwed!

The UM Team that I saw Friday night did not look like the Team I saw last year...I feel much better about moving forward based on the FAU Game than I did going into the Season...

I feel no better about the UF Game, as UM is still untested in may regards, and there was not enough information provided by the FAU and Toledo games for a solid hypothesis...

Therefore, I am back on my soap box...please be civil the rest of the week, as soon enough your perspective, paradigm and Inner Coach will be proved right or wrong...

So in the mean time STFU if you dont have anything worth really saying!

I really dont't like Gallow, but I will be nice!

Bleeding, Orange, Green & White!

Yo Cane trash

Yo chUmps Ur doom is soon
The biggest game of the Golden Retriever life is approaching fast
He is one desperate, flea infested doggie
But desperation won't fetch him victory
Preparation, talent and knowledge will
UF is better prepared
UF has so much more talent
Gator coaches are more knowledgeable

Yo 9.5.2. UGoNowhere and NoMoTitles the 3 dUmb, delUsional and blind clUcks
FAU is better than Toledo
U mean better record?
Better offensive rankings?
Players putting up better numbers perhaps?
In all of these Toledo is much much better.
Can U say delUsional?
Can U say dUmb?

Yo check this out for intangibles
UF already played a game in the 12 noon heat, no problem
UF has the better coach, DC and OC, no problem
UF has better talent and a deeper roster, no problem
UF beat the better team, no problem.

Home game for the Gators U silly maggots
Run the ball all day down that bird neck
wear out Ur USoft sissies
Yo Gators win
U lose
What else is new
Enjoy Ur #24 ranking for the rest of the week losers

Bunch of pathetic LOOSERS!!!!!!!!

Who up in here needs a little "ICE"?
