Canes-Seminoles an 8 p.m. kickoff on ABC

The game times for the week of Nov. 2 have been announced and your 7th-ranked Miami Hurricanes are headed for a primetime showdown with the No. 2 BCS-ranked Florida State Seminoles.

The game, scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff, will be televised on ABC. That means Tallahassee is the likely destination for ESPN's Gameday Crew.

More later.

Yo Cane7- We know you are Calvin- if not you are slurping that dumba55's yo-plait.

In 2000, UM was a one-loss team about to play the defending national champions, with Hesiman trophy winner Chris Weinke and his pass happy over-confident juggernaut. NOBODY gave us a chance. UM was good, ESPN and everyone knew this, and for that they gave us a #2 ranking. To their shocking disbelief, Ken Dorsey drove this offense with pin point accuracy down the field with 1 minute and 26 secs remaining, in 100 degree weather in front of 80,000 fans. SHOCKED the world. Yet- a few weeks later the BCS gestapo would have none of that (the mafia probably already had pegged the FSU-Ok match up)-only to prove FSU was overmatched.

This could very well happen again.

Five Titles,

The minor difference isn't worth the distinction you make. Both are incredibly repetitive. Calvina takes 3 or 4 items and just regurgitates them over and over again.
Both live in the past. yapping about harris and Shannon. Probably the same person.

Hello Five Titles,

You are one of my favorite posters on this blog, but on this go around I respectfully disagree. As Gator Killer Cane said...paraphrasing, both Gallo and Calvina endlessly repeat the same lies after those lies have been refuted seemingly hundreds of times.

As you may know this type of activity is a normal occurrence on many Yahoo! stock blogs by paid bashers who are trying to tank the particular stock for the people who have hired them who have taken a short position. They are just like Calvin, Gallo and Cane7 they never stop as they are paid for each response they get to their lies.

I have thought for years that when seeing bashers on various Canes blogs, who NEVER go away, that their game was to lie about our football program hoping recruits will see their handiwork and be scared off from joining the Canes.

A number of years ago (I can't remember if it was during the Coker or Shannon years) this very thing happened concerning a highly prized defensive back recruit from Alabama (who had committed to the Canes) when his family members began to read and post on the Canes Rivals blog. These were very nice people who professed how excited they were to be joining the Canes family, but after awhile, having read the insanity by one or two bashers the kid de-committed and went to another school. His parents confirmed this in a post on the Rivals blog.

BTW, I love the fact that Operation Sellout, which worked so well for the basketball team, is now being employed for the football team.

Wake figured they were going to get a 5-2 or 4-3 team with a sleepy stadium. Instead, a 7-0 team with a crowd that will be out for Wake's skulls. THe noise is going to be intense and will help make a difference in this game.

Still think it is hilarious that a chunk of the folks that will be there are gatr fans that bought season tickets to the Canes, just to see their team's first loss of the season.

To be able to hand UF and FSU their first loss of the season on the way to earning the State Championship would be a great way to fill out the year.

exactly....jra, UM going into VT....it will be all over for UM then to pitt in the cold.....

I don't see UM winning coastal and will get knocked out of division title game....thats the way i see it going.....

fsu - VT for title

UM has way too many problems right now and not enough time to get them solved.....our coaches depth of strategic play making for what lies ahead is limited.....look what dnofrio couldnt do against unc....still gave up 500 yards to a 1-4 last place team....

Well, Ron and GKC, I have no problem with you continuing to treat them the same if you wish. But I have Gallo on ignore and Calvin on discuss if he writes something I want to discuss.

But to me, one is a Canes fan, the other is a gatr in hiding. Big difference to me, not a small one.

Calvin

Just listen to Coach AL on WQAM. According to him we will always get positive results if the players do what they are taught. Artie's fg block, Tracy's int etc....

Can someone tell him he already has the job he's not interviewing anymore(just kidding) But seriously since when did it become that simple? Isn't it possible the other coach outscheme our coaches? So what happens if the players on the other team "do exactly what they're taught as well?" No one would win that battle? What happen to our guys using instincts? Is that what he call freelancing?
I understand technique and once it's ptoperly taught you can rely on that much more then not. But this attitude that when the kid is successful it's because he did what he was coached to do and when he's not it's because he freelanced don't quite cut it.

Gallo, you haven't "seen" Miami win all year. Every observation is the same. You are wrong each time.

Which makes for great comedy because you are such a looooooooser.

Back to the navy SQUEALS you are so fond of.

The NCAA should also take in to account the months and months of nonsense we've had to endure from Gallo

We've suffered enough! Ban Gallo!

Go Canes!
#7!

All the folks not giving us a real shot at FSU and pointing to the UNC game for insights on how we might match up against Winston and his boys up in tally need to remember Morris is still suffering from an ankle injury, and Dorsett and Duke were both out. Add in the fact UNC showed up with their "A" game against the canes and you got exactly what we had, a close game won by our will to succeed through adversity. I say sit Morris this week to get that ankle healthy, stick in Williams, he seems to have a good understanding of how the offense clicks. We need Lewis, Coley, and Hurns to step up big time the next few games. With all that said, I'm sticking to my earlier prediction, and that's an FSU loss on nov 2nd but we win the rematch in the ACCCG if we can win out and take care of virgina tech and Pitt. We do have a shot, but no more excuses canes! Let's love up to our potential and shut all the nay Sayers up!

Calvin.....pass from Morris to Dorsett against NCST. just last year for one. His play against Duke last year that kept the lead against Duke for another,( pass to Waters) Led 90 yard gut time drive Thursday. Came into the game for JAPICKY in Sun Bowl and rallied the team. Led comeback on the road against BC last year after team fell behind. Led comeback against GTech last year at end of the game, won in OT by Morris and co. Virginia last year on the road, they (UVA) scored on their first three possessions and UM trailed, Morris brought them back only to have the defense fail at end of game.

Morris all day long, every day against Japicky!

Lol at the country being amazed at the best team in the world, FSU. I look at matchups and the way Clemson played. FSU is good but not what people think. Morris not turning it over and D'Onofrio being aggressive and not sitting back, they will be in for a game. Eager to see what the prognosticators say after November 2.

If our Canes want to be ACC Champions, they have to beat the Hokies. Canes and Hokies don't meet at SunLife until Nov. 9th. Lose to the Hokies and the train to Charlotte will almost certainly not leave from the Gables.

Only a team with a truly strong character could hope to stay focused in the face of the onslaught of distractions that will be coming their way in the next three weeks. They will be tested more than any Canes team has been tested in decades and they will have to do it all alone: deal with the fallout from an NCAA ruling, stop the resurgent Deacs on Saturday, play the #2-ranked Noles in the circus tent at Tally in prime-time on ABC, then shoot some big-game turkey, and do it all in a constant media frenzy.

These Canes have a great leader in Coach Golden, so I won't be surprised if they complete the trifecta. It has to start with a win on Saturday.

Uh, VT comes to Miami for homecoming.

Come again.

WISTON LOCKER ROOM SPEECH

I THINK THAT WAS ALL STAGED.

LOOK AT THE CAMERA VIEW-- on a tripod.

ALL THE PLAYERS SITTING QUIETLY

WINSTON DOING THE BLACK PREACHER ROUTINE...

STAGED!!!!

THE WAY THIS SEASON HAS GONE AND THE TALENT WE DO HAVE ON THE TEAM WE CANNOT HELP BUT THINK AHEAD TO THE FSU GAME BUT TRUST ME GOLDEN WILL HAVE THE TEAM READY FOR WAKE FOREST. WITH THE MISTAKES OVER THE LAST 3 GAMES IT GIVES THE COACHES A FOCAL POINT TO GET CORRECTED. NOW IF IT'S DONE THE CANES WIN BY 2O PLUS.. NOW ON THE OTHER HAND IF THE TURNOVERS HAVE NOT BEEN CORRECTED THAN YES THE GAME WILL BE CLOSER BUT CANES STILL WIN. THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THE TURNOVER PROBLEM FOR SATURDAYS GAME IS TO PULL DUKE ON HIS FIRST FUMBLE(IF HE DOES) AND PULL MORRIS ON HIS FIRST INT (IF HE THROWS ONE)THIS SENDS A MESSAGE THAT THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED EVEN IF YOU ARE THE STARS. FOR ALL OF U WHO THINKS WE WILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE AGAINST FSU THEN YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RIVALRY FOOTBALL!! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT FSU WILL NOT BE NERVOUS AND CANNOT COME OUT OVER CONFIDENT BECAUSE THEY NOT ONLY CAN LOSE BUT CAN GET BLOWN AWAY BY THE CANES.. REMEMBER LAST YEAR'S GAME ? EVEN WITH OUR TERRIBLE DEFENSE THE GAME WENT INTO THE 4TH QT TIL IT WAS DECIDED AND THE FSU RECEIVERS DID NOT DOMINATE OUR YOUNG SECONDARY, WELL WE'RE WAY BETTER THIS YEAR AND I RECALL MR SACK MAN MCCORD GETTING A SACK AND GUNTER GETTING A INT ALSO. SO WHAT MAKES U WHO DOUBT US THINK WE CANNOT WIN ? I KNOW? DUNNO!! DON'T WORRY ABOUT HIM BECAUSE THE PLAYERS WILL PLAY THERE BUTTS OFF AND THE TEAM WHO RUNS AND STOPS THE RUN WILL WIN!! GO CANES!!!

We need our QB to play like is knowns how to play. Stop throwing interception, Also Duke Johnson needs to stay on the field more than 2 plays, in order for us to have a chance against FSU. We cannot wait until the second half, or it won't be a game...

West Coast...

I thought the same thing about the Winston speech. They cut to it and queued him tostart talking. Guess they are pishing for the heisman.

Gallo is riding b#itch on the fsu bandwagon. They remind me of the old canes...lol.

Hay fice titles your an idiot.

Good teams find a way to win in spite of their mistakes, The Canes have done that. Your fools need to recognize what clam before the storm looks like. I'm here to tell you there is a storms brewing in the southern gulf of Mexico, and it's heading to Tallahassee, to destroy everything in it's pass. Go CANES

2 minor corrections: Ed Reed did not intercept the BC pass in 2001; Matt Walters did. Reed stupidly took it from Walters and then ran down the sideline to make the final score 18-7. However, he risked a botched handoff which could have given the ball back to BC deep in our territory.
Also, the 1989 FSU rap occurred before we smoked them 31-0 (I think), but it was the first game of the year when we played them. Technically, they were undefeated but hadn't won a game either.
