Dorsett will miss 4-6 weeks with partial MCL tear; Duke, Rodgers injuries not serious

First the bad news: Hurricanes coach Al Golden said receiver Phillip Dorsett has a slight or partial tear of his MCL and it's a 4-6 week injury.

The good news? He could be back for the end of the season and none of the other injuries sustained in Thursday night's win -- running back Duke Johnson or safety Kacy Rodgers -- appears to be serious. In fact, both could be back by the Wake Forest game.

"Last night it did not look good," Golden said of Dorsett's injury. "We're all relieved and I know he is. We're all disappointed, but he'll go through the adversity and be back. Certainly it could have been far worse."

Rodgers, who injured his ankle in the first quarter, is going to be monitored in the next 72 hours. But Golden said it looks like Rodgers will be okay. "I think the nine days off will help," Golden said.

Golden said Johnson was taken out of the game by doctors after taking a knee to the helmet and because of his history with migraines.

"He looked very good today, very positive today watching film," Golden said. "We're still evaluating him whether it was a blow that triggered a migraine reaction or a level 1 concussion. We're evalauting that. Because of the time that we have and the way our doctors reacted, it was great and did not cause any additional injury."

> Golden said safeties Rayshawn Jenkins and Deon Bush "both had deep thigh contusions, but they're both good today."

> Golden also said receiver Rashawn Scott (shoulder) has been cleared and fullback Walter Tucker (ankle) will be fine to go for the Wake Forest game.

"I think he's going to give us a huge, huge lift here," Golden said of Scott. "I'm excited about what Rashawn can give us. He had a great spring for us."

> Asked if he gave any thought to pulling a struggling Stephen Morris on Thursday night Golden emphatically answered me: "No. No."

Did Morris convince him to stay in the game?

"He didn't need to convince me," Golden said. "I saw him in the huddle there at the end, those last couple drives. I saw that look going into that last huddle. He had command of that huddle. I actually left the huddle because of it. He was talking to those guys. I knew James did a great job settling him down, saying okay these are the 3 or 4 routes we're going to run. He felt comfortable with it. They were doing some things that obviously caused him some difficulty in addition to what he was battling physically. James got him settled down, which I thought was awesome He threw those last three or four balls with great confidence and rhythm and timing. Obviously, it was the difference in the game. You have to trust your gut in those [instances]. There's no question Ryan Williams can win games for us and is really improved and we're excited about Ryan. But this was Stephen's time and I just felt he was going to lead us to victory certainly at that point, given that environment and where we were, 91 yards away. Stephen was the guy who was going to give us a chance to win."

Storm Johnson from GA seems to be doing just fine.

CALVIN I TOTALLY AGREE WITH U ON THE FACT THAT SOME OF US ARE NOT HAPPY WITH HOW WE ARE WINNING.. U GIVE US PRACTICALLY EVERYDAY A FAIR AND HONEST OPINION ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND THE PROBLEMS WITH THE PROGRAM. I WASN'T REFERING TO GUYS LIKE YOURSELF WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS FOOTBALL.. PEOPLE ARGUE AND COMPLAIN EVERYDAY WHEN U POINT OUT A SIMPLE FACT THAT SHANNON DID NOT GET THE SUPPORT THAT GOLDEN HAS GOTTEN AND THAT OUR DC SHOULD HAVE BEEN GONE.. BUT THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS AND AS SOON AS ONE OF OUR PLAYERS HAVE A BAD GAME THESE SAME PEOPLE WANT TO CRUCIFY THE GUY BUT GIVE OTHERS A PASS.. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO U MY BROTHER BUT THOSE STRAIGHT OUT "HATERS" HATE TO BE WRONG ABOUT SOME AND LOVE TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR OTHERS. WE ARE 6-0 GOOD CHANCE TO GO TO FLA.ST 7-0 AND BOTH UNDEFEATED ON NATIONAL TV.THIS HELPS US RECRUTING WISE REGARDLESS OF THE COACH AND THIS IS WHY I BLAME COACHES MAINLY WHEN WE DO NOT PERFORM WELL. EVERYONE PRAISING GOLDEN BUT HE HAS NOT FIXED THIS TURNOVER PROBLEMS THE LAST 3 GAMES AND IT'S ACTUALLY GETTING WORST. SO I WANTED 10-2 THIS SEASON AND I'M CLOSE AND IF WE DO NOT MAKE IT IT'S THE COACHING NOT THE PLAYERS..

This was a sloppy game and top 15 teams shouldn't be giving up this many yards and points to a very one dimensional "running" team. I hope Golden is mad as hell with how sloppy this team played today. No reason for this game to be that close and no reason for a clearly gimpy Morris to throw all arm today. WHEN YOU'RE INJURED AND OVERCOMPENSATING FOR IT THEN BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN INJURY WISE. YOU SEE IT IN BASEBALL WITH PITCHERS, THEY HAVE A BAD PLANT LEG OR CAN'T PUSH OFF PROPERLY AND IT AFFECTS THEIR MECHANICS AND THET END UP WITH AN ARM OR SHOULDER INJURY.

Jim you're an IDIOT. What the NFL will see is that a guy with a bum ankle threw for 326 yds and a few tds, and also that it's ONLY the 5th game of the season, and has plenty of time to get even better. Way to go Canes, the d gave up some yardage an then tightened the belt, and kicked azzzzz.

What did the NFL see Thursday night in only our 6 game (halfway through the season)? What's all this talk about Morris compensating for his injury and it affecting his mechanics? What a difference a week made....

Hey all you Blog Complainers...would you rather win ugly or lose pretty like UL is might to lose to UCF?

Go Canes!

Bleeding Orange, Green & White!

Ok...I take an ugly win like UM had vs a pretty loss!

UM will not drop in the Polls this week!

Go Canes!

Bleeding Orange, Green & White!

But seriously though, i cut the game off with 16 secs left and didn't see that part of the game until today, how a team is allowed to almost win the game with 16 secs left starting from their own 20 yard line is a travesty.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Calvie...you turned the game off with 16 seconds left with North Carolina in control of the ball? Really? Seriously?

What 'Miami' fan would turn the game off at that point with only a 4 point lead?

Let me help everyone with what people turned the game off with 16 seconds to go...trolls...those that were pissed off that the Canes had scored after rooting against them all night.

Calvin, no-one but no-one is fooled by your troll fool act. You've been rooting against Al Golden from the moment he stepped on the Miami campus. Time and again your lies have been daylighted and refuted, but you just keep repeating them using numerous aliases over and over and over again.

And as UCF and Louisville will tell ya, going undefeated... ain't easy

#AWinsAWin

I wonder why Louisville's 4-3 D could not stop UCF all night. Any ideas from the blog experts on the 4-3 D?

RIGHT NOW IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER IF WE DROPPED IN THE POLLS AS LONG AS WE KEEP WINNING.. I PERSONALLY SEE US BEATING FLA.ST I KNOW I'M A HOMER AND I DON'T CARE BECAUSE AS YOU CLEARLY SAW LAST NIGHT ANYONE CAN BE BEAT. WE ARE ALL COMPLAINING ABOUT MORRIS AND RIGHTFULLY SO BUT THIS SAME QB IS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF GOING TO TALLAHASSE AND WINNING.. KEEP THIS IN MIND BC HAS PLAYED BOTH FLA.STAND CLEMSON VERY WELL WITH CHANCES TO WIN. PLEASE GIVE US THOSE CHANCES WITH OUR TALENT AND I'M VERY SURE MORRIS WILL PULL IT OUT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. I SEE US PLAYING FLA.ST TWICE AND WINNING ONE OF THOSE(ACC CHAMPIONSHIP) GOT TO BEAT VT AND WE WILL. GO CANES!! HATE TO SAY IT BUT FLA.ST WINS TOMORROW AT CLEMSON.

Oh Cool Cat where are U dummy? How's your boy Bridgewater doing tonight? Well lets just take a look. Well it looks like he lost to UCF at home. Oh my goodness, did I read that right? Why yes I did. The great one as U make him out to be could not go undefeated against that junior varsity schedule they were facing much less go undefeated at home. I don't know about U but I am pretty sure that your idea that he is Heisman material just took a lethal blow as well did his oh so called great HC of his. Where is Miami, our QB Morris, and our Great Head Coach Al Golden, well let's check that one out since Bridgwater, Strong, and Louisville are losers and I don't pay attention to losers. Well looky there, My Miami Hurricanes, QB and Coach are undefeated and ranked in the top 10. Hey not everybody has what it takes to be a Cane so U and Bridgewater just accept that Ya'll are second rate. Ta Ta!

UCF's total yards: 443
Rushing: 192 (6ypp)
Passing: 251 (7.6ypp)

Strong's DC perhaps does n't know how to run the 4-3D. If only the hired some blog experts from on here for advice, they would've held UCF to zero yards and zero points.

UCF's total yards: 443
Rushing: 192 (6ypp)

Vance Bedford perhaps doesn't know how to run the 4-3D. Clint Hurtt cannot coach the D line to save his life. We need Charlie Strong to hire some of the experts on the 4-3D from this blog to make this right.

THE CAPS LOCK IS TO THE LEFT OF THE "A" KEY. PRESS IT ONCE.

Thank you and don't forget, my middle name is "ICE". (caps intended on the "ICE")

Football,

It is my humble opinion that every University of Miami football fan is hoping and praying that somehow--someway--Donna Shalala can find enough money to hire Calvin to become the next Canes head football coach.

Just think about it...he would immediately hire Cool Cat to be his offensive coordinator, Gallo and Cane72 as co-defensive coordinators, Harriet as his special teams coach, Jacory Harris as his quarterbacks coach, Fact Check as his wide receivers coach (for all the reasons we know), Champ Cane as linebackers coach and...drum roll please...Randy Shannon as assistant head coach.

Just try to imagine that menagerie of dunces applying their well known football knowledge, that would fit on the head of a needle, to our Miami Hurricanes.

Hell, the kids from Grambling would feel great about their football program after reviewing that line-up of dim-wits.

Start flying the banner over Dolphin stadium now----Fire DC D'Onofrio for his prevent defense mindset. I've seen better defensive coaching on a country mile dirt road. DC needs to get his act together. The Honeymoon is over, D'Onofrio.

RON ZOOK.., YOU HAVE THE BEST MATERIAL ON THIS BLOG HOMIE...

First Off 6-0 is better than 5-1 all great teams have at leat one or two close victories especially a group coming off a 7-5 record. This is the PROCESS!!! With that said SM needs to do 3 basic things: 1.) drive through his throws on intermediate routes which will bring the ball down 2.Throw the ball away if it isn't there and 3. Use some touch (the missed pass to Hagans in the flat was plain BAD!!! Additionally, from a coaching stand point there a seemed to be too many man beater route combos vs what appeared to be zone coverage. UNC basically decided to want to force Miami to have to be patient. The deep Middle digs with a shallow cross in front of the lb's would have been great to see. Would've needed the end zone cut to see for sure. Defensively some man coverage and pressure would be nice. Safeties should play on the up field shoulder of the TE, no reason to ever be in a trail technique vs. a TE on his shoulder side closest to the QB if the pass is completed there will be no one to tackle him!!!

Teddy Bridgewater can't beat UCF!!!

Good to see the Canes win. And Louisville lose (Hey Uncle Luke, how do you like it?).

Hated to see Morris play so poorly. Too much NFL draft hype, and the guy can't handle it. Great drive to win the game, well-balanced with run/pass. That should be our offense unless a deep receiver is clearly open. Throw to the tight end will you? Hit intermediate receivers. Having Scott back will be good.

Morris is the limiting factor for our offense.

D'Onofrio is the limiting factor for our defense. No pressure, sit back and watch while the other team throws underneath all day. Real smart. The guy is off.

Can Golden get them ready after a bye week? Not like they should have been in terms of focus on the offense.

But the Canes won and that's the good news. Better tighten it up because FSU will trash us at their place. Their OB is for real.

GO CANES!

UCF is a dangerous team- of all fla schools they scrr me. Glad we dont play them. Storm Johnson is a beast. His size is a difference maker, Cant help to imagine what couild have been with him, Dallas and Duke- yet egos get in the way and that plus the fact that he may have had academic (and other)issues made it impossible. UCF and Louisville is where players from harder schools go when they cant hack the academics. Look it up if you dont believe me.

WHat does Calvin say about Teddy Brideg? What about the other racist cool cat?

I say this- UM is 6-0. They WILL be ranked higher after this week. But I do see that Bridgewater is very accurate with his balls and hardly ever throws balls up for grabs. Unlike Manziel. Stephen Morris has to learn to get rid of the ball sooner and lower. He overspins his balls (over zips them with little or no touch)and sometimes throws off his back foot (?ankle) and some of his passes are high.

Rank after this week: 8 or 9 in the BCS.

Go canes.

UCF last minute drive, leaves 23 seconds on the clock and survives a Hail Mary at the end to preserve the win. Great play.

UM last minute drive, leaves 16 seconds on the clock and survives a Hail Mary at the end to preserve the win. Ugly play.

Strange how people let their hatred of the team cloud their comments beyond reason. Was it a perfect win? No. We pointed out errors after every win, but didn't hate the team. True fans can discuss and disagree without jumping to tired personal insults each time they lose the argument.

Calvin has shown me to wrong before without insults, same with Canesjunkie and many others. UCF proved some SEC trolls wrong last night, but of course now they will say USCe beat a powerhouse UCF team. Miami plays UCF, weak schedule. USCe plays UCF, tough schedule.

So we turn the ball over 4 times on the road in a road game on a Thursday night and still only give up 23 point and win.

And all Calvin is talking yardage numbers?

Hilarious.

Calvin I wonder if Louisville would take that same exact scenario this morning.

You are a MORON.

Hey Cal, How is T Bridge doing tonight? Looks like Louisville is in hand to hand combat for two weeks in a row.

/////////////////////////////////

Are we talking about this teddy bridgwater with the 169.1 qb rating in that game.

/////////////////
Despite Bridgewater's 29-38 for 341 yards and two touchdowns passing performance.
/////////////////

Are we talking about the teddy bridgewater who had his team up 28 to 7 in the same game. Your buffoonery continues to reach new heights.

As if that man had something to do with them losing the game, up 28 to 7, stop being a clown man, even in a loss teddy b had a way more productive game than smo17.

smo17 is nowhere near the type of qb teddy b is, that's been proven, just a reminder:

Last year vs common opponents:
teddy b vs Unc 2012:
Comps/Attmpts Yds Comp% Td's Int's Qb rating
23-28 279 82.1 3 0 201.2

smo17 vs Unc 2012:
Comps/Attmpts Yds Comp% Td's Int's Qb rating
12-26 155 46.2 0 2 80.8

So this was pre-ankle injury which proves his poor performance had nothing to do with his ankle last year.
//////////////////////////////
teddy b vs the gaytors 2012(who many said had a better defense last year)
Comp/attmpts Yds Comp% Td's Int's Qb rating
20-32 266 62.5 2 1 146.7

smo17 vs the gaytors 2013(vs defense with several new starters)
Comp/Attmpts Yds Comp% Td's Int's Qb rating
12-25 162 48.0 2 1 120.8

Just to be clear, against the better defenses, smo17's comp% is almost always piss poor and it's not that high to began with before those games.

So we turn the ball over 4 times on the road in a road game on a Thursday night and still only give up 23 point and win.

And all Calvin is talking yardage numbers?

Hilarious.

Calvin I wonder if Louisville would take that same exact scenario this morning.

Let's be real, probably the two biggest/most crucial plays of the game was when Unc had the ball, 3rd & 1, got called for delay of game, than on the next play, false start, which after that tyriq got the sack. If Unc gets that first down, we lose the game plain and simple, why, because #1, louisville would've milked the clock or our time-outs, #2, they would've either scored a touchdown or at least a fieldgoal to goal up by 6 which meant we would've been forced to have to score a touchdown, so defensively they would've played us a lot differently.
#3, we would not have able to just line up and run the ball had any of the scenarios in #2 would have happened, we would've had no time and that last drive would've had to have been basically all smo17 throwing and we all know how that would've turned out. I keep telling you, and it's unfortunate, but they keep trying to put the game in smo17's hands just because he's a senior and coach goldie in trying to make a case for smo17 by saying before the season something to this regard "you can make the case that stephen morris was one of the hottest qb's in the nation".

What coach goldie failed to factor in was, the defenses we played against and the several catch the defenses slipping long bombs smo17 threw last year, those are what i call garbage touchdowns, while they count on the scoreboard, they don't count in football reality. It's basically a cheap free touchdown that was not really earned the hard way.

The reality is simple, if jacory was in this same offense, we'd be killing teams, the gaytors would've gotten pulvarized.

wcc, I agree with U.........I am a fan, but being realistic, Jimbo has had 2 year or 3 year head start on recruiting vs Golden in terms of depth

Can we beat FSU , yes, but I do think we are 1 more class away from being in the Ala/FSU/ class. Our top athletes are 1-2 yr guys When our top ones are seniors, and we have the same depth at Fresh and Soph, then we are fully back.

Can we go 12-0. yes. Also, We need a Ken Dorsey type Steven Morris. We have way too many athletes to have games like that. That's why a Kevin Olsen or Ryan Williams next year, or (Doubtful( BRad Kaaya needs to be a game manager...........Dorsey managed the games, and went deep when needed.

Cool Cat -

That was me about Dorsey and I do agree with you. My point is we need SM to play within the system, something that Dorsey had to do which made him effective despite having less talent.

RIGHT NOW IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER IF WE DROPPED IN THE POLLS AS LONG AS WE KEEP WINNING.. You one of the sensible ones on here so we cool dawg fo sho. I'm not sure how you picking Fsu to win, i can't really tell who's going to win this game myself, Fsu hasn't really played nobody, so all this heisman talk for winston is comical to me and defensively, clemson and overrated & over paid brent venerables has done nothing to justify bringing him there. With the highest paid coaching staff in college football you'd think clemson would be better, that's what pisses me off about us, you can't let a guy like don soldinger sit on the sidelines of Miami Hurricane football, he's one of those guys that whatever you paying him technically is not enuff, he blongs on the UM sidelines, you'd know right away that our runningbacks would be getting coached by a True hall of fame runningbacks coach, can't put a price on that and he'd coached that position for $175K a year, it's not about the money with him, just a real dude.

Anyway, i think Fsu, will play the better defense because they do have the better athletes on that side of the ball, so in that regard i can see why you picked Fsu, but at the same time i'm thinking, if boston college put up 34points on em in their 4th game of the year, i gotta think clemson is going to be able to at least match that. This seems like it's going to be another shoot-out game like last year's but who knows how winston is going to react in this game.

Now when we play them, it's still comical to me how, as bad as our defense had been there last 2 years, the Fsu offense was one of the only ones where we actually bottled them up which is why i wasn't to excited about james coley coming here myself because that wasn't a good sign. I'm tired of all these teams having to look to the sidelines for the offensive play after lining up, that's what you got your qb for to check you in and out of bad plays, i hate that we're following that trend to nowhere, just line-up, and run the play.

All this tapping the center by the guards, what's the purpose of that, to help you not get false starts or something in the meantime d-linemen are just teeing off on our o-linemen because we're not switching that up. If you're going to do it, at least change it up from time to time to be able to trick the d-linemen into getting penalties, instead, we're getting called for holding and face-mask penalties because the d-linemen are getting jumps on the ball.

This is where the headcoach is suppose to come in and clean stuff up like that as well as after thursday game say, ok, that last drive, this is the type of offensive team we're going to be, we've been to helter skelter on offense for far to long now. This game hasn't gotten that complicated, run the ball, pass the ball and stop the run.

Posted by: Calvin | October 19, 2013 at 10:36 AM

Hilarious my man. T Bridge lost the game yesterday and I am sure he would have been happier with Morris like performance and W instead of an L. I don't have to tell you a "W" is always better than a 100% completion and a "L".

How about Louisville's 4-3 D? Just goes to show you all the internet blog experts are bluffing. They should perhaps stick to impressing their mistresses.

As Ron pointed out, you are no fan of this team.

Thank you West Coast Cane, but in fairness--the trolls/Canes haters on this blog makes slapping the white or black out of their mouths a lay-up!

Calvin and his aliases where he carries on booster conversations with himself offers material that only needs to be copied and pasted with a passing observation to conclude just how out of his mind he really is and appreciate just how little he knows.

Go Canes!!

UCF last minute drive, leaves 23 seconds on the clock and survives a Hail Mary at the end to preserve the win. Great play.

Not an Apples to Apples comparison when you see that UCF is unranked and was playing the 8th ranked team in the country. Miami was the 10th ranked team in the country playing an unranked 1-4 team.

Now if 8th ranked Louisville had pulled out a squeaker against UCF and survived a last second hail mary than that would be an accurate comparison (ugly win against a team that it realistically should have never let stay close in the game).

Big difference is that UCF came away with a win against a team that is regarded as being much superior to them and Miami squeaked out a win against a team that isn't regarded as being very good (except for by the homers).

I'M A CANE FAN FOR LIFE AND SINCE 1988...

But after Thursday's game, i've completely lost faith in Steven Morris...

I think UCF's QB Bortles is better than Morris.

The only reason Morris even has a good rep is because of the RB and WR that surround him and make him look good.

ALL HE DOES is throw's deep balls and hopes his receivers get there.

HE HAS NO TOUCH throws at all

WHEN THE PRESSURE'S ON he ALWAYS tries to throw the HERO BALL

IT'S HIS 4th YEAR of playing and he looks like a FRESHMAN QB

WE WON THE UNC GAME because of DEFENSE and a re-committed O-line and Dallas in the 4th quarter...

WE WERE GONNA LOSE THAT GAME on ONE MAN'S SHOULDERS: MORRIS...

HE DID NOT just have a bad game.... he was consistently throwing some of the MOST STUPID throws i've seen in college football since Jacory Harris...

Watch those INT's again on replay and see for yourself.

Then watch UCF's Bortles... YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE immediately between SMART and STUPID throws..

We are going to lose to FSU because of MORRIS...straightup...

AND THAT'S IF we can get past Wake Forest......

See what i mean???

Last week we all ASSUMED WF was a walk-over...

Now with Morris's play, we are all gonna hold our breaths over how many INT's he's going to throw and how close he'll help keep the other team in it

Calvin says we would be "pulverizing" teams with Jacory at QB???

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHHAHAHHAHAAAAAAHHHHAAAA!!!!

What happened when Jacory played UNC under similar circumstances?

Three picks, one that was returned for a touchdown and another on the final drive that ended the game.

So like i said, Calvin is a MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JOHNATHAN VILMA KNOWS THIS....here's his twitter message:

"Dear Miami Hurricanes,
PLEASE stop calling pass plays. Thanku kindly"

Anybody see Jonathan Vilma's tweet towards the end of the game?

OK. So Bridgewater is human. So what....UCF played well enough to win. They knew if they let him, the former RS recruit and NW superstar standout QB Bridgewater would beat them.

Cal, you should write a book on the following:

Principal Football Principles and Truths:

a) Jacory Harris is the best hurricanes QB ever
b) South Florida Football players are the best in the world
c) 4-3 Defense is the *ONLY* way to play defense
d) Randy Shannon is the best hurricanes head coach
e) Calvin is the best football analyst in the world
f) Everyone else is an imbecile

smo17 hasn't really changed or regressed, this guy is just a solid qb, nothing special in-game but it's not about trusting smo17, it's up to the coaches to protect smo17 from himself, after these 6 games, if the coaching staff can't understand what to do with smo17 than shame on em. Alot of the same problems smo17 had against the turtles in coach goldies first game coaching here are still prevalent now.

james coley has got to stop taking away the threat of the run like the 2 oc's before him and getting into obvious passing formations. What's the purpose of getting to 2nd short or 3rd and short and than lining up in an obvious passing formation, taking away the threat of the run is oc insanity because now all the defense has to do is play pass first, the linebackers don't have to take a step up first which doesn't create space for the tight-ends. Don't bash or dog smo17 now, he is what he has been, plays real strong against weak defenses and bottles up the offense against solid to above average defenses.

We can't go into to many more games running this finess type of offense, we need to get back to imposing our offensive will on teams instead of just dialing up all these fake aggressive pass plays, again, football isn't complicated, those who can run the ball and stop the run will consistently be championship contenders. When jared wheller is in the game, we are a more phhysical o-line running the ball, that man has been playing 2nd string only because he was being judged off of his pass blocking instead of his run blocking which is way more important.

Until we get back to having our qb's play under center the majority of the time, we'll alaways be this helter skelter offense. Playing under center forces a defense to have to account for everything. We gotta get back to using formations to our advantage, simple football. All these coaches and teams trying to be all exotic, this is why coach jim harbaugh came into the nfl and produced and got instant success, he ran a traditional offense, but now, this year, trying to run that pistol crap, it's not working like they thought it would and they're struggling.

Calvin says we would be "pulverizing" teams with Jacory at QB???

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHHAHAHHAHAAAAAAHHHHAAAA!!!!

What happened when Jacory played UNC under similar circumstances?

We the talent smo17 has had around him for 2 years now, particularly the o-line, it wouldn't even be close, but if you go and check the stats and than the definition of moron, you might see clearly who the moron is. You don't just become the 2nd all time passing leader at UM by luck. This is the main reason why dorsey was overrated, you put jacory with the same coaching staff and talent that ken dorsey had and you put dorsey with the same coaching staffs and talent that jacory had and i can guarantee you dorsey would not be the 2nd best qb if matt pipho was his right tackle.

ohigho fake took ken dorsey hearts by hitting him just a couple of times than he started wilting.

Cool Cat-- don't know anyone player in the NCAA or NFL who's a robot....

I think it's pretty much agreed all players are HUMAN.

And your comment makes no sense "IF they let him....Teddy B would beat them." HUH??

They didn't let him, so they beat him.... And that's with Teddy B trying to win.

Truth is L'ville played cupcakes all year and the country gave them #8 for winning big over cupcakes. Against real Defense, they were exposed.

We are an overall better team than L'ville except at QB.

And that's the problem that keeps us from being top 5.

We've got a great D--- allowing UNC 500 yrds and spotting them 4 INT's and still winning is DEFENSE.

OFFENSE is inconsistent because of ONE GLARING WEAKNESS-- THE QB THROWING THE BALL is "consistently inconsistent".

Unless MORRIS miraculously improves over the next week, it'll be a painful night at FSU...

I'm not sure why you'd rely on smo17 doing anything against Fsu, and Fsu is not some team to fear, they've played a bunch of cupcakes too. That offense that jimbo runs fits what coach goldie and his boy oach OH-NO(is back) trieds to implement, this is why in the last 2 years we've played them, we've bottled their offense up as well as ej manuel not being that good in my opinion. Plus it's almost to easy to be a good b in the nfl now with all the defensive rules they have in place how can you actually play defense now, it's pathetic. The defensless receiver rule is a joke, of course he's defensless, he's on offense.

ON MORRIS AT MANNING QB CAMP...

How many "highly touted" QB's at summer camps can actually play well in the clutch is what matters...

Not how good their performance stats at a summer camp looks like...

I don't question MORRIS' physical gift (throwing the long-ball or drilling every peass at 100MPH) but MORRIS's MENTAL GAME is totally weak. And that's not something you can coach up now in his SENIOR year.

HE's a "B-level" QB at best....

JUST IS WHAT IT IS...

We just need to ride this kid to a 10-1 or 10-2 season and see what we look like with WIlliams for next year.....

REALITY IS REALITY Cane Nation..

ANOTHER FACT FROM UNC GAME:

Go what the replays, and you'll see there were EASILY 4 MORE INT'S Morris could have given UNC.

IN TOTAL 8 numbskull passes....

Not "being OFF'
Not "he couldn't push off his ankle"

JUST PLAIN STUPID PASSES...

How about the play where he leaves the pocket for no good reason?? (pocket was solid around him)...runs to the sideline and lobs an air-ball right over our WR into UNC's hands???

HE did that TWICE in the game...

AND the screen pass that bounced off Seantrel for the INT??? HE JUST THREW that ball straight into Seantrel and never even looked to make sure Dallas was visible...

Sometimes games exposes your team's inherent weakness...

The UNC game really revealed that our greatest weakness at THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION is our own QB...

I'm bummed, because i've been rooting for Morris since the Jacory INT MACHINE days...

Nah, the reality is Miami will MOVE UP at least one rung on the Top 10 ladder come Sunday afternoon. dUh

And it's possible the Hurricanes could move a couple of notches I-F a couple of other undefeated teams lose today, i.e., Mizzou, U.C.L.A., for instance.

Oh, I laugh at canespace/eoth Cane MINIONS, because they was bellowing how Miami was LUCKY to win and what not.

Yet, MIGHTY Lousiville not only CHOKES at home. But gives up a Double-Digit lead and now will suddenly DISAPPEAR from the Top 10. Eh. What say.

Chit, even Miami's native son Bridgewater and crew had couldn't take advantage of playing at home, yet the Canes played in a stadium which has been bloody BAD KARMA in the past.

Yeah, yeah Central Florida is a winning squad and has a stronger overall team than Carolina Blue. So what!!

The bottom line is just too MANY Huricane partisans have a SERIOUS CASE of being too negative and what not. When it comes to their precious Hurricane. dUh

Why don't you WEASEL your way back to canespace!! Seriously bUbba!!!

Because I'm bloody familar with your TROGLODYTE, opinion style and I recognize your handle from that canespace.

I can't wait to play Fsu, i hope they're undefeated and if this coaching staff gets there heads out of the who knows where, we should be undefeated when we meet them to, i will say this, our linebackers will have an opportunity to get at least 2 picks against winston, he's better than ej manuel for sure, his strengths is, even after scrambling he's looking down field, we need to keep him in the pocket and force him to be a pocket passer and we need to let smo17 know he has a pocket so he can stop bailing out on the pocket, it's better to get sacked in the pocket instead of prematurely running out of the pocket and throwing a pick.

I will say this, you can look at that pittsburgh team and can tell they're going to be and play physical all game long, as long as we play physical, we'll be alright, i think it would be wise for us to coming out in an attacking style of defense instead of always giving up points first before we figure stuff out. oach OH-NO is slow, but i'm sure he'll point to the "well we only gave up 6 points after halftime".

t3 leading the team with 3 True picks, they might credit lg with having 3 picks cause that blocked i don't think ever touched the ground, artie burns is going to be a problem out their on that field, plus he'll come up and lay the wood on you.

FWIW... that CANEZ1 at eoth is now saying THE DUKE is too " S-O-F-T! " Imagine that.

This same BULLY canez1 said... " he hopes the Canes can hang with the big boys ( Florida Gators. ). Go bloody figures'.

No wonder the VAST MAJORITY of major college football fan-dom DON'T have no respect for Miami, Florida Hurricane football loyalists. LOL

Because with NEANDERTHAL morons like CANEZ1 and his henchmen, who would respect Hurricane partisans.

Yeah, yeah that canez1 only reflects approximately 55% of Cane partisans and what not. So what.

d, It's going to be impossible for us not to move up in the polls this week, we know for sure 2 teams in the top 8 are going to have losses, louisville of course and somebody is going to lose tonight, if clemson loses, do they fall behind us is the question, if Fsu loses, will they fall behind us, we'll see cause you never know, but i wouldn't be mad if they did stay in front of us since when you do lose to a top 5 team i don't think you should get penalized that severely.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprise to SEE-r Florida reighn victorious over Mizzou today. Seeing that the Tigers are without QB Franklin.

Chit, with the No. 3 defense in the country facing an UNTESTED signal-caller. Who knows what can happen in small town Columbia at HIGH NOON.

Nevertheless, take the Gators to COVER the point spread.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calvin, I agree totally with everything you had to say about Miami and the two major polls.

And I wouldn't penalize either Clemson or F.S.U. for losing tonight either!!

Nevertheless, two Top 10 squads will facing each other in Talla-TRASHQUE on November 2nd, because I just can't see the Canes losing at home to Wake Forest!!!
