Only a few minor defensive changes on Canes' latest depth chart

There were only minor changes on the Hurricanes depth chart this week as they prepare for their big trip to Tallahassee. UM, by the way, remained 7th in the BCS standings.

While the offensive depth chart remains unchanged, a few changes have been made on the defensive side.

> Senior Justin Renfrow is listed as the starter at defensive tackle after being a co-starter last week.

> Senior Tyrone Cornileus, who missed the tackle on Wake Forest's last touchdown Saturday, replaces Thurston Armbrister as one of the starters at outside linebacker. Armbrister moved to No. 2 behind Denzel Perryman at weakside linebacker.

> Junior Ladarius Gunter is now the starter at cornerback. He was previously a co-starter with freshman Artie Burns.

The Canes best defensive weapon at FSU will not make a tackle or a defense call.

James Coley. Nobody knows their offense and JF's mind better. His offense can keep their's sidelined. Can't score drinking Gator(couldn't resist) Ade.

D, the blitz where we jump forward before the first signal is called out, gifting the QB fair warning, definitely won't work. Each time we did that against Wake, they checked out and we didn't change our defense to match. Multiple times, the safety would run forward, trying to guess the snap count, and failing.

But if they can get the blitzer to be PATIENT, and move with the ball and not the sound, they could catch Winston by surprise. He HAS been sacked 12 times so far, and that is without playing in seven full games. So it is possible to get to him.

LISTEN UP TROLLS AND CANES FANS ALIKE....

IT'S A LONGSHOT THAT WE BEAT FSU....

THAT'S OBVIOUS... when FSU has had 5+ years of solid recruiting (without an NCAA noose) and when we've had major coaching changes.... IT WOULD BE EXPECTED that FSU is ahead of us...

HOWEVER... I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED FSU to have won or come close to an NC in the past 5 years. And they simply haven't...

TROLLS... SO EASY for you to sit back and predict an FSU WIN when you factor the above and that we are still a growing team. IT"S LIKE sitting back and predicting it RAINS when the clouds get dark...

BUT I'VE BEEN WATCHING UM FOOTBALL SINCE THE 80's and one thing i have learned is when FSU is ranked above us, we've beaten them 3 out of 5 times...

UM IS A LONGSHOT to win, no doubt.

BUT WHAT WE ARE WANTING AS CANES FANS IS signs that we are moving in the right direction....

AND IF UM WINS?? Then that will be one HELL OF A GAME...

SEEN A FEW OF THOSE IN MY TIME AS A TRUE CANES FAN...

More of this sissy shat. WCC stick a fork in it. Wait until after the game to come in here with excuses.

Just like we corralled Price last Saturday, we can corral Winston this Saturday.

Other than the porous BC defense, he is 30 rushes for only 59 yards. So that just leaves the handoff to a very good Devonta Freeman.

Did anyone notice that we handled the misdirection plays of UNC and Wake very well? I think that is another sign of defensive improvement over last year. We used to get burned by trick plays.

When did it ever matter to the canes who had the most top 5 recruiting classes. You sound like that other chick Five titties.

What do these teams have in common? They are the only 8 teams with both an offense and a defense in the top 25.

1 loss Stanford was surprisingly way down at 80th in offense. Team lost to UTAH for Gods sake. For all the attacks on Miami for letting teams stay close, at least we didn't LOSE to the unranked teams we face. There are plenty of 1 loss teams that deserve to be above Stanford. I think the pollsters think Andrew Luck is still there.

West Coast Cane, I am still trying that science experiment. Like the rat with a piece of cheese as it's goal, it is still gnawing away..

Notice that it has turned it's attacks on you, stealing your ID and attacking you personally instead of discussing the facts.

Go ahead and also ignore it. True Canes fans are discussing the game instead of worrying about the nips from the ankle biter.

Yep.
Were we favored against Nebraska in 1984? Nope.
Were we favored against UF in 2013? Nope.

A bunch of Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas and other wins along the way where the folks in Vegas claimed we had no chance, too.

We play the game anyway, and see if the better team wins.

Five,

Grow a pair, not all of us are blind homers. Why won't you address what he's saying instead of always crying. Is he lying? Point out the lies. You don't have to like what he says if it's the truth. Call him out on the lies.

I have finally come to my senses and agree with Gallo.

Golden should absolutely be fired if he doesn't beat FSU. But wait, he should also be fired if he doesn't beat FSU by AT LEAST 4 touchdowns.

Also, I say they fire the Kansas City Chief's head football coach, Andy Reid, if he does not beat next weeks opponent, the Buffalo Bills. Never mind that like Coach Golden, Reid inherited a program in the toilet (although, Reid didn't face a 3 year NCAA investigation) and is currently undefeated like Golden's Canes you fire the guy on the spot if the Chiefs lose.

I am outraged that Boise State didn't fire Chris Petersen after he lost to BYU on Saturday!!! Can you imagine this guy who took a program from nothing and has had his team in the national title hunt and played in BCS bowl games thinks he's gonna get a pass from me and Gallo he better think again! FIRE PETERSEN!!!

Furthermore, taking Gallo's lead...I believe that any time a football coach loses a game; pee-wee league, high school, college and pro that they should be fired as soon as the game ends.

Finally, I also say that any high school kid that the fans on various blogs believe should sign with their school and does not should be grounds for firing the head coach of the school the kid did not sign with.

ESPN homers and just about everyone is DISSING THE CANES... "Not a legit top 10 team....blah blah blah"....

Oh really? Just "circumstances helped them get there...."

YEAH, circumstances that we started unranked and won every game we played and the "LEGIT TOP 10 TEAMS" lost games they shouldn't, but DID LOSE... But that makes them "LEGIT TOP 10"....

I THINK ESPN and CANE HATERS are truly trying to help give our team the FIRE they need to win....

WHEN IT'S THE U AGAINST THE WORLD... SPECIAL THINGS HAPPEN....

MY DISSECTION OF THE SEASON:

1) Coley has been patiently working to solidify the running game

2) OUR RECEIVING corp is actually VERY YOUNG. Outside of Dorsett, we have freshmen and sophmores in there. I reviewing the game replays, i believe that a majority of INT's Morris threw were due to miscommunications or bad routes by receivers....

3) MORRIS is clearly not himself. The only difference so far has been that ankle injury...

4) SHORT PASSING GAME: this is either Coley's fault for not making this a major part of the passing game..... OR Morris has been so lacking in a reliable short pass game his career, he's not looking for these easy throws.

5) OUR DEFENSE: is clearly the strength of the team... AS they say... "Championships are won with defense". I don't question the UM offense will come on eventually. But our DEFENSE is already at B+ and getting better.

6) COMPETITION: i really believe that we've taken the best punches from the teams we've played, and we bent, but didn't break.

7) FSU: I know the odds...and it has FSU as the better team and they are clicking on all cylinders. They will be VERY HARD to contain on Offense. Just too many weapons. That's what can happen when you have solid recruiting for 5+ years and stability at coaching. But where's all the CHAMPIONSHIPS to show for it? I see FSU as a failure so far for not gettting to the BCS all these years of TOP 5 recruiting classes.

8) I TRUST OUR COACHES: sorry to the CANES FANS dissing the coaching, but there are ins/outs for every game that we fans know nothing about. Injuries on our side, game plan matchups etc....

WHAT I DO KNOW IS THIS: CANES have faced MORE VARIETY of offensive schemes than FSU had. ANd it takes us about 1 HALF to adjust, then we dominate and shut them down. LOOK AT THE WF GAME AGAIN: they were unstoppable in the 1st half. By the 2nd half, they couldn't even complete short passes.

LOOK AGAIN AT THE GAME STATS BY QUARTER:
Our OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE NUMBERS GREW
WHILE WF's numbers shrank....

That speaks to coaching adjustments.

THIS IS STILL A RELATIVELY YOUNG team and they are showing CONDITIONING DOMINANCE late in the game, and the ability to get repeatedly punched in the mouth, but yet get stronger each quarter....

I'M PREPARED FOR UM TO LOSE TO FSU....

BUT WHAT I CARE TO SEE IS ONE PLAY AT A TIME....AND TO SEE THIS TEAM RESPOND TO THE BIGGEST GAME OF THEIR CAREERS IN 4+ years...

EITHER WAY...

WE FACE FSU AGAIN in THE ACC...

AND WE SEE THEM AGAIN IN 2014 WITH A VASTLY BETTER TEAM....

THE FUTURE IS BRIGTH...

National title,

Gallo is an idiot. She now claims she predicted we would be 10-2. 4 days ago she said we would lose to fsu, va tech, pitt and probably wake.

Not sure how that adds up to 10-2, but hey, she's a sub-moron.

MOUTAIN CANE...

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP PAST GALLO.

HE'S THE DUMMY WHO WRITES WITH LOTS OF...........IN BETWEEN.......HIS........COMMENTS.........

OR HE LIKES TO MAKE LISTS OR RANDOM SH*T THAT MAKES NO SENSE....

JUST HELPING YOU OUT BRO

Never said we all were. I have disagreed with Canes fans on here many times, including D, Calvin, Sunny Dee, UGoCane, Ron Zook, and others. Did you not see me disagreeing with D about the benefit of a blitz against Winston?

Why won't you address what he's saying instead of always crying.
------
Because when I went through his Golden Casualty list, one by one, he ignored that, and continued to post his lies. What is the point of repeating a proof that has already been accomplished. I would rather focus on this week and FSU.

Is he lying? Point out the lies.
----
I did. To the point that other Canes fans, like West Coast Cane, asked me to just ignore him. Can't ignore him AND answer all his lies and so it is either one or the other.

You don't have to like what he says if it's the truth.
---
Where was his "Truth"? I said we had a better backup QB, he changed his ID and attacked me personally, but did not rebut the actual fact.

Call him out on the lies.
---
Been done so many times already. He is NOT an FBI agent tracking down a drug angle on the death of Taylor and Pata. Called out. Booker T is NOT preventing Canes players from signing with the U. Called out. And no team fires it's coaches midseason for losing on the road to a higher ranked opponent. Called out.

Five,

What you are saying in a rather nice way is "there is no cure for stupid", and you're right.

we will be ready for fsu i have miami wining 24 to 17 fsu looks good because they did not play anybody and they have not face a d like miami with all the speed did u see what happen when they played bc um ijs tho.

WIDE RIGHT! Miami by 1.

considering that the U is rated 21.5 point underdogs in the next game, which, btw is two levels below toad snot, if the canes don't get enough incentive from that, then they do have a motivation problem. The D needs to litterally raise hell for 60 minutes and Stevie needs to get his footwork down pat, no more high and outside or fsu will make him pay big time. Their freshman qb needs to feel the heat and the ground many times next week. If he sits back there like he has all day, the D will look worse than last years D. pressure, pressure, pressure on D, stop the run and the offense needs to step up. A let down in any phase, including special teams, will give fsu just the breath it needs and once they get rolling, if this past few games are any indication, game over. Go Canes.

Cansspace Homer,

You sat on the bench your entire career. Man press on a cossing routes with pics will kill a man press. if the WR beats the corner tally up 6 in man press, that crap works on ncaa and madden football. if that was the key to success there wouldn't be a need for the various coverages out there. With everyone nowadays running some form of spread is hard to press. If you say run a mix I'd agree, but your no football player. Just a couch and computer Vince Lombardi. How can a 5'10 CB press a 6'plus WR. won't happen. You think that was man press FSU ran against Clemson, never in a day a lot of zone bliting and D line work. Man press Sammy Watkins theres no one on FSU D that can handle him one one one, not even Joyner.

The ACC competition is right there with every other conference. Look at the records. Bama and Mizzu are the only one loss teams in SEC, Oregon and Stanford for Pac-12 and FSU, Miami and Clemson. Big Ten and Big 12 have maybe 2. But Miami hasn't played anyone, who has FSU, Bama, Tamu and LSU played or oregon for that matter. Mizzu by far has had the best schedule thus far. You are sleeping on the ACC.

To sum up the WF game for u chump, they did not run this offense against Louisana. They slowed Miami's Defensive team spead by spreading the field. That's the only way they could have competed in that game. They have no rushing offense. Grobe has been around for a while and know's what he is doing. You spead the field with that many linebackers on the field and something more or less the middle of the field will be open and a speedey WR versus a tired linebacker in coverage will win everytime. Hope u learned something.

Will #77 show us his best game on Saturday night?

On a given Football game any team can come out a Winner!!!!. Checkout the SEC.

The "Gameday Crew" will be in attendance and we will hear the Woes of how Miami is going to get ripped.

Well, if the game is close what will they say:
Miami got lucky, Fla. State did not prepare well, Coaches and calls, etc. Blah, blah, blah. YES.

If Miami wins it's tough for these so called soothsayers to put themselves in Reverse.

We have something to prove, and as a Rivalry game the 'U' will approach this game going back to the days of Bobby Bowden.
Make no mistake, Coach G has imprinted these players with the task to uphold the legacy and leave it all out on the field. The biggest game of their Collegiate lives will be met with a grit and determination that we have not yet shown.

I am sure that the 'Canes will come to play and will be ready. This game will have the largest audience for the 'U' in years and will be a showcase for recruits.

Expect the surprise in a Close game. The 'Canes will be there, Remember the lead up to the 'Gator game?Same result WIN....Yes.
Go 'Canes
