Canes injury report released; video interviews with Hurns, Perryman

As expected receiver Phillip Dorsett (knee), cornerback Artie Burns (ankle), and linebacker Alex Figueroa (shoulder) were ruled out for Saturday's game when the injury report was released Thursday.

Here are a couple interviews from earlier this week with linebacker Denzel Perryman and receiver Allen Hurns.

Hey Gallo, Bama lost ANOTHER Top 300 recruit, the sky is falling, time for another list.

Posted by: Cola Cane | November 21, 2013 at 10:18 AM

Seriously, Ur going to popoff about a Bama decommit? U really think the kid made that decision because he didn't want to go to Bama? No, it's because he realizes, and Saban told him right to his face, that there are 3 better kids already in the 2014 Class better than him at his position, and 6-8 better already on the team. 2014 Bama commits, unless a difference maker, won't sniff the field for 3 years as Redshirt Sophs (Scout team developement). Where as Miami commits are asked to come in immediately and play when they're not ready and get beatup with no upperclass depth around them. Saban is closing in on another 8-10 Top-150 players that will commit at Seasons end that are better. Not saying Ur stupid, But U just don't know what's it's like to close strong since Golden loses and has lost his better commits as Feb. approaches every year and then replaces them with unranked and 2-Star projects because that's all that's left on the shelf. Then he'll hold back a handful of schollies to throw around to average JUCO (D.T.'s) hoping and praying any of them stick.

It's simple Cane conditioning that Top-10 Programs close with the Top-Uncommitted Prospects. As a Cane, U just wouldn't understand.

Facts?

You are throwing a lot of details out there without factual backup.

Do you as a fact know that every 4-5 Star that went to 'Bama was a hit and was awesome on the field?

Do you as a fact know that Alabama has great athletes sitting around for 3 years waiting?

Do you know that 'Bama has depth and rotation that they have developed over the last 6-7 years?.Great!!

Miami has been lucky to get players to plug certain positions in the last 2-3 years and with rotation and injuries the holes are there, even now as we speak..

How can you compare a rebuilding program with an established program ?. There is no comparison.

Do you know that Miami recruited with a question mark hovering over them as to what sanctions would be handed down by the NCAA?
For nearly three years!!.

We have had to go the JUCO route, because the plan is to develop our young players and give them at least breathing and learning room to grasp plays, and learn our system.
Even so, many players who we may have redshirted are playing because we need them through necessity.

Development takes time, ( which to us now is a luxury we do NOT have), and which unfortunately a lot of fans like yourself do not understand.

When was the last time that 'Bama even looked at a JUCO player?

Your post shows that you just don't understand the 'U' so your observations have very little merit or substance.

Apples to Oranges to compare our program in recruiting players with 'Bama.

Give us 3-4 years and then we can talk, as Miami continues to rebuild.

Evaluate our Class when all our Commits are in. Absolutely sure that it would surprise you!!.
So easy on you meritless popoff on 'Bama recruiting.

I guess the gatrs are the model for pulling in uncommitteds late? And since you REPEAT your lies, I might as well repeat the FACTS that prove you wrong, yet again.

Poor name-changing fellow, you are trying to lecture us about how Top 10 programs close on uncommitted prospects? Like how in 2012 Miami closed on Gator Lock Tracy Howard? You said between your murder jokes that he was a "Gator Lock". Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.

http://miamiherald.typepad.com/umiami/2012/02/miramar-cb-tracy-howard-talks-about-picking-um.html

Or how about Stefon Diggs? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again.
Or how about Nelson Agholor? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again.
Or how about Darius Hamilton? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again.

Or how about Avery Young? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.
Or how about Jordan Jenkins? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.
Or how about Gerald Christian? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.
Or how about Gerald Christian? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.
Or how about Josh Harvey-Clemons? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.
Or how about Jermauria Rasco? I recall you said he was a Gator Lock as well. Wrong again. Seems he would rather BEAT the gatrs.

Jawand Blue, uncommitted until we got him late.
Antonio Crawford, uncommitted until we got him late.

----
Even the guys you bragged about like DJ Humpries were a fizzle when it came time to face the Canes. So, thanks for your weak repeated lecture that turned out wrong in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Now, since your team's season is ALREADY over, you are worrying about the 2014 loss yu will have in recruiting as well? How sad for you, name-changing fellow.

You can see in Perryman's eyes, he's tired of waking up early for the new baby while getting blown out on the football field and wants that NFL check, Alverage will rip him about, 'pennies on the dollar,' when he blows another game with his one size fits all game plan next year against a team UM should beat, but who cares, he'll be cashing checks while Alverage whines about not judging his record at UM because of the next batch of excuses that don't hold jack.

This team and coaches have been thru more crap than any team in the country. I applaud all of them for not completely tanking like they did under Shannon's last year.

The remainder of this season is about developing the upcoming players. Thats a silver lining in this down time. The game time experience for Coley, Howard, McCord and others is IRREPLACABLE.

Its makes these players even more prepared for next year when i believe we are going to be legit top 10 or 5.

The big question is if Williams and Olsen get QB time to do the same. Good news is morris seems to have turned the corner.

Another year will also mean another full year of learning Coley's offense.

People forget Coach Coley only came in this year. And no program excels when learning a new offense for the first time.

3-4 years huh ? Heard that in 2005 with Coker ... 2009 with Shannon ... Now ? You really think think with the core of this team and how it's managed and coached, that in 2016 Miami will be "Back" ? Same story, different year, again. I'm from Missouri, Show Me.

Apples n Oranges are Top-10-15 Programs.

Miami is a Tomato, they'll never Katch-up the way they've been going and continue to do so.

Facts is right, it's seems like forever since we saw real progress ON THE FIELD. Not on paper, or recruiting stars, just no development again with the 3rd coach in a row. Whether these kids are stars or just average, something should show after three years. I doubt many would expect to be top 10, but at least better than Duke, a VT that can't do anything on offense, except on our field. The excuses are the same, not just year to year, but now coach to coach. Time to find the right coach.

Where do players who actually played for D’Onofrio — and other coordinators before him at UM — place blame? Not at the man calling the plays.

“He’s one of the best defensive coordinators I’ve been around as far as planning and getting ready for a game,” said former UM linebacker Sean Spence, who played under Bill Young as a freshman and then John Lovett as a sophomore and junior.

Spence was Miami’s leading tackler in 2011 when D’Onofrio’s defense featured five current NFL players (Spence, DeMarcus Van Dyke, Olivier Vernon, Ray-Ray Armstrong and Brandon McGee) and finished 17th nationally in points allowed (20.1) and 45th in total defense (359.9). Spence said Miami’s woes are not related to scheme.

“A lot of times it does look like a lot of busted coverages and that has nothing to do with coaching at all,” Spence said. “D’Onofrio is a very patient coach who is going to take time with you to make sure everybody knows what they’re doing.

“It’s a great system to be in. He runs a lot of zone, switches it up and also runs a lot of man, and has a lot of nice blitz packages. It’s similar to a lot of the stuff run up here with the Steelers. It’s hard to say it’s his fault. The coaches [have] to coach and the players [have] to play.”

HORRIBLE DEFENSE VS. DUKE

Spence, who spent his first two seasons in the NFL trying to recover from a dislocated kneecap sustained in a preseason game during his rookie year, was stunned that the Hurricanes lost to Duke and allowed 358 yards rushing.

“Not in a million years would have I imagined that,” he said. “I don’t know if its misfits or guys missing tackles. I know the tackling system they go through every day in practice and that system shouldn’t create problems like that.”

Former linebacker Jordan Futch, who played with Spence at UM, said the Hurricanes’ defensive struggles relate to a lack of toughness and talent at certain positions.

“You can have all the playbook in the world, but you can’t coach toughness,” said Futch, who plans to enter the Broward County Police Academy in January. “You’re looking at a few guys that are energy vampires when they come in the game. They’re not very tough and you are seeing it on film.”

Futch points to safety AJ Highsmith and linebackers Tyrone Cornelius and Thurston Armbrister as players he thinks have been forced into more duty because of a lack of depth.

“When it comes to [the] Virginia Tech and Duke [losses], I think it’s a matter of heart,” Futch said. “I was really happy to see Deon Bush come back in the game. That’s a kid that likes to put his face in the fan and isn’t afraid to tackle … just a few players can make a difference. Really, that’s what you’re getting in my opinion.”

Golden said Tuesday younger players such as sophomore linebacker Tyriq McCord, freshman safety Jamal Carter and freshman cornerback Corn Elder likely will see more playing time Saturday against Virginia (2-8) because they’ve earned it, and added that he would not “turn his back on the seniors who stood with us through all this [NCAA] tumult.”

NEED FOR SPEED

D’Onofrio and Golden have avoided singling out players for their mistakes, but have repeatedly said the defensive breakdowns against the run have been the result of one or two players not sticking to their gap responsibilities.

Futch said Miami’s defensive backs and linebackers aren’t playing more aggressively in coverage due to lack of speed. In August, Canesport.com reported that UM’s fastest defensive backs were Elder (4.49) and sophomore Antonio Crawford (4.52). Every other played timed at 4.58 seconds or slower.

“I’d say that backing off in coverage is your defensive coordinator knowing his guys,” Futch said. “When you practice against [wide receivers] Phillip Dorsett, Stacy Coley, Herb Waters and Allen Hurns and you watch week after week those guys stretch the field, sending guys deep, letting it fly, you know if your DBs can cover like that.”

I felt bad about leaving FIVE TITLES AND RON ZOOK to fend off haters.

This blog has about 5 serious and educated canes fans and about 20 idiots making nonsense.

Would be great if hearns can find his way onto a squad next year. Seems to be a good guy and good understanding of the game. Been really impressed with how late he catches the ball. Hardly gives a que the balls in the air until its in his hands. 2-3 of his tds should have been easy picks. Definately has put in a lot of work and hope it pays off!

I will not blame the players. I have watched football for a long time and have never heard so many people blame players. That is crazy. I don't know what rank Miami defense is right now, but I know there are teams ahead of them that do not have the talent Miami has. I would love to see the teams ahead of them. This is silly.

I want to see how Virgina looks against Miami's defense. This guy is talking about no turnovers the past few games. We still would like to see 3 and outs. This is so crazy.BLAMING THE PLAYERS

Also what was 2008's defensive ranking. All those freshman that played.Yeah Shannon said they were young but he never blamed them.these guys on defense are mostly Golden Recruits.Enough with the excuses.Just pissed how they are throwing the players under the rug. Texas had a mid season change and it worked.I want improvement.Enough with the excuses already.I am anxious to see Saturday.

Shannon called out players too. How many Jacory picks did he blame on receivers not fighting for the ball.

Players are fighting, that's pretty clear. It's not like the previous coach who had most of the team quit at the space heater.

The Cal Berkley Bear pretending to be a Miami fan is one of those uneducated on football posters.

Just like THE WORST POSTER IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL RELATED BLOGGING appealing to a never was like future police recruit Futch, Mark probably bought him a new watch to say nice things about his sorry scheme that always is ready to surrender yet another career high.

Spence has had what? Three college DC's in his career, one in the pros, how many more at Northwestern High? So he's saying he's better than the guy in high school that wasn't Luke? Just rehab your knee Sean and get back on the field and I'll consider it an accomplishment at this point for you.

It is tne responsibility of the coaches to bring out the best in their players for any team at any level.

Go Canes! Beat Virginia and make us believers again...

Dang I don't know what Five did to U to deserve being linked to Zook the Gator, but thats just not fair to him.

U felt that way about the blog before U gave yourself that ultimatum so thats nothing new to cite as a cop out.

Anyways thats a weak excuse just like the ones U pose for the coaching staff--guess we shouldn't be surprised your just "being the same guy everyday".

Dudes quoting Shannon players opinions after disparaging and insulting their passion and efforts as Canes for the last 3 years. Magically since their opinions suit their arguments, these former players have become authorities and quotable. RS defenses sucked right? Then why now are his player's opinions about the defense creditable?

Hypocrites to the core.

frostdog, those blaming the players are the new type of UM fans who started cheering for the 2001 squad, they don't know football and keep letting coach goldie & clown 500 blow smoke up there behinds everyday, we just lost to duke and people want to act like this duke squad is that strong, i hope they do play Fsu in the acc championship game, if they get more than 3 points it'll be because they scored on defense or it was garbage time. We played against a team that can't even pass the ball and got drug up & down the field like that, they basically got shut out by V-tech, while logan thomas 4 picks were highlighted the duke qb threw 4 picks and was 7-25 for 107yds and duke only had 91yds rushing but they managed to win that game.

If this duke teams runs the table i'll be surprised. This qb boone had a 32% qb rating vs V-tech against us he ballooned up to 131.6 and his back-up's qb rating was even better 167.8 People want to debate whether it's the players or coaching here's your answer, and since goldie and the clown 500 like to read off stats, they somehow fail to mention these stats.

Jeff driskell week before us:
Toledo qb rating=150.7

Against us: qb rating=138.6 (and that's with 2 picks so technically his qb rating would've been about the same or higher so our defense is on par with toledo)
////////////
usF qb's week before us:
Steven bench qb rating 87.2
bobby eveld 58.4

Against us:
Steven bench qb rating=111.8
////////////

Unc qb(marquise williams)rating week before=139.6

Against us:
marquise williams qb rating=193.3
bryn renner qb rating=150.7
//////////////

Wake Forest qb rating week before=

Against us:
tanner price qb rating=122.2
//////////////

Fsu week before:
j.w.'s qb rating=186.3

Against us:
j.w.'s qb rating=164.1(2 picks lowered it of course he threw for 325yds against us but 292yds against NC st.)
//////////////

V-tech week before:
The other l.t. qb rating=145.0

Against us:
The other l.t.=201.1
///////////////

duke week before:
boone qb rating=88.9
back-up connette=92.0

against us:
boone qb rating=131.6
back-up connette=167.8
////////////////

We going all the way now:

FAU against us:
johnson qb rating 89.9
hankerson=71.4

FAU next week agaisnt east Carolina
johnson qb rating=87.2
hankerson qb rating=96.3
////////////////////

These numbers tell what's really happening, coach goldie and the clown can say whatever they want to say, but we'll never be able to start off fast playing defense like this!

Harriet TUBMAN, spence didn't say nothing wrong, notice his words about the clown 500, spence said "he's one of the best as far as planning and getting ready for a game" So clown is an all-world coach before the game, but than the game actually gets played and than what!

The mental gymnastics required of THE WORST POSTER IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL RELATED BLOGGING and his mental ilk know no bounds when it comes to lining up to get their daily fill of a golden shower from their favorite spigots loins, just like the number of yards Alverage's one and only game plan for every team on the schedule when he draws up the defense each week knows no bounds as to how many career highs they'll allow to be set against UM.

Tough loss for the basketball team tonight, they let one get away, played well enough to have a chance but not well enough to capitalize on any of the chances they produced for themselves tonight. Back to the drawing board for the defending ACC champs!

Hey UGoCanes, an answer for you. When was the last time Alabama went the Juco route? Here you go: 2011-3 JC players; 2012-2 JC Players and 2013 1 JC Player and in 2014 1 JC commitment to this point. You clearly need to do some homework before making comments.

@HarrietTubmanCane

Well you and Calvin have made it pretty clear you hate the Canes.

And you have white coaches.

You love Randy Shannon, not because he succeeded, but because he's black.

Yoohoo.

Way to represent your peeps.

Support mediocrity as long is it has black skin....

Truth is if Al Golden had dark skin, you'd be here defending him to the death...

Now that's weak.

It's black folk like you that keep other black folk down.

Facts ? Don't Let Them Get In Ur Way

more BS.....players at both defensive backs and LB run the same 4.49 to 4.60 or so.....thats only noticeable to a stop watch......

BTW....we had tough guys in gionni paul and eddie Johnson and ray Armstrong.....but golden got rid of them remember?

2012 tackles:

green - 67
perryman - 64
paul - 61
johnson - 59

#1 tackles for loss - EDDIE JOHNSON

these guys would have stepped up and made a difference.....maybe UM would have only 1 loss....FSU

excuse after excuse......alex collins with duke johnson.....terrell brooks with jaynard bostwick in the defensive rotations.....or even better......

3-4 with eddie johnson - matthew thomas - perryman - gionni paul?

so many possibilities but golden cant close.....only second tier junior college guys....

this staff is a FRAUD

add teddy bridgewater and who knows where UM would be today.....the whole UM administration is amateur hour.....

time to hold people accountable but blake/shalala are gonna let this play out but it is inevitable that golden based upon his statistical makeup will ALWAYS be a .500 guy......

.500 guys after 8 years don't go to .750/.800.....it just doesn't happen.....its is really a statistical impossibility

".500 guys after 8 years don't go to .750/.800.....it just doesn't happen.....its is really a statistical impossibility"

errrrr, not to point out the obvious that you are a pedophile moron of epic porportions, but check Jimmy Johnson's record before he came to Miami.

Just entertain that little exercise, would you, Pig?

Gallo you n Calvin keep bringing up Eddie Johnson, and others that AG got rid of, well tell me WTF are they doing now? They're NOT doing a damn thing, that's what. If they were the bad asses like you guys claim, they'd be playing for someone else don't you think. When guys don't listen and constantly break team rules, or even commit crimes, well then yeah, they're down the fuuuking road, and that happens everywhere dude, so let it go man.

Eddie Johnson finished a year of JUCO and wants to come back to Miami. He was great at Miami and would have been the best linebacker on the team this year. Ray Ray Armstrong is having a terrific season for the St. Louis Rams. I understand letting Ray Ray go because the NCAA decision was still pending. Miami had to do whatever it could to show it was in compliance with NCAA rules. I feel bad for Finnie - he made a mistake and should have been given another chance. I have no idea what happened with Johnson or Paul, but I doubt Saban or Meyer would have let them go.

Hey Chuck I stand corrected, on Alabama's JUCO selections. (THANKS)
2011 3 JUCO players
2012 2 JUCO players
2013 1 JUCO player
2014 1 JUCO player

Thanks for the answer which substantiates my statement.
Out of a full recruiting Class what percentage of selections have been JUCO players, selected by Alabama?.

I did not Google like you did, but straight up common sense indicated they grow their system with a Working Progression of bringing players along with a proven formula.

Our 'Canes are developing.
We need all the good JUCO's we can find. They clearly do not.
As far as homework goes, if you consider Google'ng homework my hat's off to you 'bro. LOL
Go 'Canes

Canesjunkie - Shannon was wrong to blame the players - that is one of the reasons they gave up on him. You cannot blame college players publicly, even if they are actually to blame (in this case, I don't think they are). I guess the current staff learned nothing from Shannon's mistakes.

Just wanted to add that I think coaches can, and should, chew out players on the sideline after a mistake. However, during the press conferences after the game the coaching staff should simply say that WE (the coaches) need to do a better job of teaching the players and working on fundamentals to eliminate mistakes. That way, you acknowledge that the players need to play better and be more focused, but you as the coach are talking the responsibility to ensure those goals are met.

Sunny D I agree but the personality of the Coaches have a lot to do in Action, Reaction.

It runs the gamut of response, but players are all different and have to be handled on an individual basis.

Your premise though is very sound.
Good post.
Go 'Canes

Alabama may have more talent than any team in the nation. The career high school rusher, from one county North of me. He never was injured in high school. He gets his leg broke, as soon as he gets to practicing in Tuscaloosa. The top defensive lineman in Jacksonville, last year, committed to Alabama. He was replaced by a higher rated lineman, just before he early enrolled. He went to FSU after they chose the other lineman.

With all that talent you can still lose. Coaching of the lesser talent has to be in place, for sure. Because you can only line up 11 at a time. No matter how much talent you have.

The lack of coaching skills would cause Al Golden to still be less successful than a top coach like Kevin Sumlin, or Charlie Strong. Hell Les Miles would do a better job than Al Golden. And Les wins, almost only, by being more talent.

Charlie Strong would be a good coach for Miami, if Golden doesn't work. I think Strong may be coaching UF in 2015.

Does Golden survive next year with this DC? We might have the same record this time next year, are we ready to accept that?

Gallo might shat himself 100x by then.

just please play 4qtrs against UVA...THIS TEAM LOOKS LIKE VTECH when they play us!! let's post 48-0 ALL OVER THE LOCKER ROOM...maybe that will fire someone up!

The PREVENT DEFENSE we are playing the last 3 - 4 games is killing us...playing 10-15 yrds off the line and when in space there is still 5-10 yrds to make up...one cut, one missed tackle, we are toast...BLITZ, BLITZ, play MAN...see what happens...could not be worse than the last 4 games...GOD Bless ya'

I think Louisville can pay Strong a lot more than Miami. Plus, they are joining the ACC next season. It would be a lateral move (or, arguably, a downgrade). I also don't think he will leave Louisville for Florida, but that would make more sense than Miami. The only places I can see him going are Texas, USC, or the NFL.

Also, unless Miami has a losing record next season, Golden will not be terminated, even if he deserves it for his on-field performance. He has played the martyr card well and, to be fair, did a great job navigating the NCAA mess. I think he played a big role in the minimal sanctions that were handed down. The school is indebted to him for a few more years because of how he handled himself and the program during the NCAA investigation, even more so because he apparently was not informed of the pending investigation when he was hired. If Golden is terminated after this NCAA mess Miami will have great difficulty finding a high caliber coach to replace him. Golden will be viewed as a victim.

Defensively, it seems like we're in the same situation as last year and it seems like Golden is sticking with this atrocious defensive scheme and DC, so next year figures to be the same.
We're losing our 2 best defenders vs run(if Perryman leaves), so unless the incoming freshmen in defense are difference makers, where's the hope for the future?

So is it really the players? Because if it is we're screwed again next year.

U know I'm not a fan if dno but I really feel losing tommy motif was bigger than anyone ever recognized. He was the sc coach under butch and helped develop the early 2000s canes before going to lsu. It's interesting that our decline a few years after he left so all the guys he developed were gone and lsu rise begin after he got there and looking at lsu players the last few years compared to ours it's like boys to men. I know guys love Swasey and ppl love you tough but it's something to think about. If I was golden I would do all I could to get motif back first and foremost

golden sacrificed ray-ray.....the ncaa had nothing on ray...they admitted that his meeting for dinner with his girlfriend was ok....golden terminated him just like the others WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION....that's his motto

charlie strong comming to UM is a complete non-starter......his buyout is 5 million...UM would never pay that

To say eff it and go rogue overt racist is always the last resort when totally exposed as not being a man and a fraud.

Never been a Shannon lauder, just not a racist Shannon disparager to boost Golden up (which is the clear motivation behind the RS bashing that has little factual merit). There's distinct distance. I've said countless times that he wasn't a good coach.

U followers and sheep would love to alter the prerequisite for loving the Canes and being a fan to blindly supporting Golden despite the patterns we see on the field of play and jumping in with groupthink agendas that the MH is pushing hard these days. A coach while never come between my fanhood and the Canes because: We won 5 NC's with this player demographic from South Florida but with 4 different coaches--thats all I need to know to keep my allegiances in proper order.

Besides what did anything in that post have to do with U not abiding by your own words?

Don't deflect--be a man for once.

BTW--black people aren't down-we're up--speak for your own kind--we got this.

You are too wrong for words. Al Golden is not owed spit. He was the opposite of Randy Shannon, and that is all. A white, immoral, lying, irresponsible blamer. That is obvious to this objective and responsible Miami fan.

The NCAA investigation was obvious, before it began. If Al Golden did not know that Randy Shannon was undermined by Kirby Hocutt, with Nevin Shapiro. That was his lack of research. I knew it here in the most anti-Miami city there is, Jacksonville.

The only reason that Miami was saved was Randy Shannon. The same reason that Al Golden was so rapidly accepted. Was the same reason he was given more money for the problem that Randy Shannon minimized. Randy Shannon was the canary in the coalmine telling the workers that Nevin Shapiro was poison. While the company invited the poison into everything it could. And now there is a worse coach, but with a much higher salary.

Black white yellow brown it doesn't matter to me. every color as the good and the bad. The only thing that matters is your colors are true orange and green. I'm of the mindset that believes ppl who play the race card ran out of intelligent things to say just like how ppl who cuss all the time do to compensate their lack of vocabulary

who cares if he is a victim.....the only victim will be UM with empty seats.....look at this year, people are not showing up.....

I agree let's not talk about race, let's talk aboutsomething objective, like, we lost to Duke.....in football!

That comment was to Sunny Dee and his kind. The truth is that the fans are starting to not go to the games.

The article Rick S linked to has a very valid points. The main point, for me, was that Al Golden has lost to winning teams. And has a very poor record against losing teams.

I agree and remember before the twisters get on here, that didn't spin this discussion into race--SBC did after I asked him why he isn't upholding the ultimatum he gave himself about posting here if Duke wins. How that influenced him to go racist by projecting the motivations for his sentiments about Shannon onto me and Cal concerning Golden is beyond me. His word was the topic at hand, not race. But when confronted/exposed that sort of ideology comes spilling out like vomit sometimes.

SBC, U are type that holds the human race back.

A winning game and a winning season begins with a solid defensive set. goldie and d'o do NOT have that because they have 3 def. linemen going the whole game against 6 offensive linemen and running backs.

When they put in four def. linemen, they stop other offenses. Then, the two morons tell the Cane players to go to 3 linemen and 8 backs playing zone NO pass coverage. And LO!!!! What happens?? The other team converts to a first and ten, over and over and over til the other team is on the Cane two yard line. Freakin morons do not understand defense.

Leave four def. linemen in the whole game with two extra def. linemen on short yardage, goal line stands, move the LBs up to within 3 yards of the los, go man to man the whole game with two free safeties, and I will guarantee the Canes will win the next two games.

Go zone and 3 def. linemen, LBs 5 yards off the los, as the morons have for the last few years and games, and I will guarantee Canes will lose the next two games.
