UM Canes LB Denzel Perryman on NFL decision: "I'm going to wait a little. ...This decision can change my life pretty much."

ORLANDO -- Just saw University of Miami linebacker Denzel Perryman with the other Hurricanes at the Russell Athletic Bowl's community service trip to Give Kids The World Village, a 70-acre theme-park-type village where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families spend a week.

Wonderful, inspiring place. The Hurricanes -- and Louisville Cardinals -- were having a great time interracting with the children and their families, doing everything from hula-hooping to playing life-sized checkers (Curtis Porter was a blast playing checkers with an outgoing little girl) to lifting them for some fancy slam-dunking to dancing to a DJ.

It was great to see the players in a nonfootball setting having so much fun and being genuinely sweet to the kids.

"We put smiles on kids' faces,'' said UM junior linebacker Denzel Perryman. "We just made somebody's days. I have a kid of my own."

Perryman's daughter is Ella Grace Perryman, born Nov. 12. He said he's learned from fatherhood "that you don't get that much sleep and pretty much you just have got to change diapers and have a nice little schedule of rotating.''

And of course we asked him about his status as a Hurricane and if he has made up his mind about whether to enter the NFL Draft after this game.

"I really haven't thought about that,'' Perryman said. "I sat down with [linebackers] coach [Micheal] Barrow, but I"m going to wait until literally after the bowl game to really sit down and think about all that. I'm going to wait a little.

"I really haven't been thinking about that at all.

"It allows me to focus in and continue to do what I have to do. I don't want to make that decision, i'm going to leave and then my whole attitude changes towards the bowl game."

Perryman said that when he, and other like him, first come in the thought is often that they are going to play three years and then automatically leave. But now that he's facing that decision, he said it's much harder than he ever imagined.

"In past seasons, when you first come in you always have that thought, 'I'm going to be three-and-out; I'm going to be three-and-done.' And the decision comes for you to make it, it's kind of tough.

"When you first come in you're like , 'I'm going to leave, it's going to be easy.' but when you get in that situiatno, it's like 'wow. you know, like, this decision can change my life pretty much.''

Does everyone ask him whether he's going to leave early?

"I get it a lot,'' Perryman said. "When people see me out, even my own family asks me what i'm doing."

Notice how goldie is always dismissing mostly defensive guys, why, because by nature, defensive guys normally have more aggressive personalities so quite naturally this moron continues to have conflicts with players from the defensive side of the ball, i already know he'd kick me off the team.

Your stupidity knows no bounds. First off you'd never even sniff the grass on the playing field, except maybe on the lawn maintenance squad, and secondly when guys rape, or steal from their OWN teammates, they aren't going to be on ANY team ANYWHERE. You seem to be the only moron around here.

Calvin, if mostly defensive guys are smoking and posessing large quantities of weed, then unlike the gatrs, they get dismissed from the team.

Terry, Johnson, and Paul were all linebackers with issues that were not conflicts with the coach. Why would a coach remove his top performers unless the NCAA is staring down a magnifying glass at him, knowing that even though other schools can turn the blind eye on such extracurricular activities, that Miami would get hammered for one joint.

Unless there is some proof that they were let go for disagreeing with the coach, and not for the weed issues, there is no reason to make the claim that he dumped them just to have everyone docile and complaint. Guy was a DC without having to remove a bunch of players, so it isn't like he is some primadonna that can't accept vocal leaders on the team.

Yeah Calvin, you're definitely barking up the wrong tree on that one. Those guys were ballers. They also had to go. Five is exactly right, the investigation left zero room for any coddling of any impropriety. Maybe EJ should get another look as a walk on, as he had tried in earnest to turn his life around, according to reporting, but that's it. He's not worth a scholly at this point.

Five and beed it's not just those LB's Calvin says were wrongly dismissed, it's pretty much EVERYONE who's been let go. He seems to think you can just do anything, and it's ok and can be swept under a rug.

Louisville 56, 625 yards of offense, and TB on the sideline in the 4th qtr. UM, 24, 375 yds. of offense, and Morris picked 2 times, canes will look as bad as they are

Here some reality for you. We know you're a Gator fan, and the NATION knows your 4-8, and lost to an FCS team, so in essence if we look bad, you must look HORRIFIC, lol. PS...Your bums, now get the hell out of here and clean the locker room

Until Golden grows a set, and gets a defensive coach, these canes will ALWAYS be irrelevant nationally. They might get bowl games, but it will be just like the one they have this year. Maybe they can buy the citrus bowl and make it the OB north. L'ville will own Miami this year, and next.

"just know if I can say I feel that well ever consistently be an elite defense bc this defense by design gives up yardage and would rather give up three than take risks that could lead to seven all the truly top 10 elite defense play aggressive play for the negative plays play for the shutout which dno doesn't"

Talent level and playmaking ability dictate and trump design. You can't talk about one without factoring in the other.

You are so wrong cola, I'm a realistic canes fan. Living in reality. Not everyone who says something against where the program is a turd fan. Because I don't agree with Obummer doesn't make me a racist either. Kool Aid killed a lot of people, now it's killing the program I love. Go Canes prove me wrong

Ok well for the love of God dude, we haven't been to a bowl in game in years, much less win one, and haven't had a 10 win season in 10 stinking years, and we've been basically a 500 team, so if we can beat L'ville we can reach a goal we haven't seen in quite sometime. Also if we keep our recruiting class intact, then we'll have some more ballers, and can get better on the D side of the ball.
I'm also someone who feels that if Dno doesn't call a good Bowl game, then he should be shown the door. As far as Obummer, well this isn't a political forum and why you had to bring that up is beyond me.

Damn people how about some PEP talkin here for OUR KIDS. Jeez if I was on the team and just happened to read this blog, I'd want to walk out into traffic. Come on CANERS, fire this squad up!!!! Come on D, play with FIRE, and get off those blocks to pressure TB. Offense keep doing what you're doing, and SM if no one is open than DAMNIT run, you have the legs, so take off brother. GO CANES and STOMP the Cards!!!!!

It was just an example to show a point. I know we have not seen the post season for a long time, the problem I have, is that Golden won't budge for his buddy. If we win or lose, and Louisville runs all over the defense, the guy won't budge. He will not replace him. This means how many years with this defense? It's sad, many play the talent thing, but the talent here NOW is much better than is showing. And no matter the recruits, if these players aren't being coached up to their potential, what will happen with a no. one class. It will just be another class.

Cola, before I go, I truly hope I am PROVED wrong at. But one thing will never be right, I WILL NEVER BE A TURD FAN. Gotta go, have a great weekend

Seriously LOL... CALVIN keeping it R-E-A-L, again!

And yes, it's NOT a coincidence that most of the players RUN-OFF by Goldie happen to be on the defensive L.O.S. dUh

Chit, even FS Telemaque spent MOST of his senior season in the " dog house, " because Vaughn was prone to MAKING PLAYS and what not. Go bloody figures'.

Let's see now, a former FOUR-STAR DE in the person of Vegas prep-star Grimble DIDN'T have any " issues " and what not.

YET, both Goldie nd' Marky COERCED Grimble to leave the program and go west to small town Corvalis, Oregon ( O.S.U. Beavers ).

Yeah, yeah players are RUN OFF all the time at the B.C.S. level.

However, Golden and D'Onofrio seem to GET THEIR JOLLIES running off players. Especially those defensive players whom tend to FREE LANCE and make plays. hUh

By the way, I SEE-r two or three current players LEAVING the program after the bowl game/spring semester. Because Goldie has gone OVER the 30 verbal commitment level.

Miami, Florida team defenses From 2006-2010

2006 ( 7-6 ) NO. 7 Cooker's final season.

2007 ( 5-7 ) NO. 33 Shannon's first season. Shannon demands the resignation of D-coordinator Walton.

2008 ( 7-6 ) NO. 28 3 TRUE FRESHMEN STARTER'S.

2009 ( 9-4 ) NO. 29 Tough non-conference schedule.

2010 ( 7-5* ) NO. 22... NO. 22 Shannon didn't coach bowl game.

The final team stat's don't LIE and MAKE EXCUSES for Thee Carpetbagger's.

Because both Goldie nd' Marky Marky INHERITED a solid TOP 25 Cane defensive unit and proceeded to DISMANTLE said defense during the 2011 season.

And y'all Golden and D'Onofrio APOLOGISTS expect me to believe the Hurricanes will win a A.C.C. championship game. Let alone be one of four teams playing for a national championship...

Get the fUc! outta' here with y'all's WHIMISICAL, MEANDERING believes and what not!!

Hurricane team defenses From 2011-2013

2011 NO. 45

2012 NO. 116

2013 NO. 77* #

* Defensive stat's from bowl game will determine Cane's final team defense ranking.

# Hurricanes play SOFTEST NON-CONFERENCE in Miami, Florida Hurricane football HISTORY.

Well, at least since the 1973 season and what not.

HTC, Thanks for the prediction. Looks like you are expecting an exciting and close game. That will be fun to watch!

GatorKillerCane, a surprisingly bad score for Miami from a guy that usually is so positive! But hey, you have to call them as you see them.

If the Canes lose 48-38, do you picture Donofrio getting fired?

Miami, Florida has had a proud history since the 1980 season of fielding solid TOP 25 team defenses or better.

And coach Shannon UNDERSTOOD that a NUMBER THIRTY-THREE ( No. 33 ) team defense wasn't carrying the STANDARDS of past Cane Top 25 or Top 15 team defenses.

So, coach Shannon immediately demanded the resignation of defensive coordinator Tim Walton at the conclusion of the 2006 season.

Because for Randy Shannon, it was ALL ABOUT THE U... and keeping around a suspect defensive coordinator was going against the stellar, standards of previous Miami, Florida defense's.

For the umpteenth time.... P-L-E-A-S-E cease with the speculation, that Marky Mark will be terminated... if the Canes give up 500+ yards and the Cardinal tally over 40 points on Saturday night.

Because D'Onofrio will be in Coral Gables as long as Golden is hanging around Green Tree.

So y'all Goldie nd' Marky Mark Lap Poodles can say GOOD-BYE to Top 20 team defenses. hUh

Reality Hits, please understand that there is a gatr fan that creates new names and posts stuff similar to your first post. 56-24 is the worst prediction for the Canes we have seen so far, I also hope you are wrong.

Sorry that you came along only at the end of the season, but feel free to keep posting. Perhaps even get a typepad account so that we can recognize your ID over time.

If we lose 56-24, do you think Golden is fired? Maybe at least forced to remove Donofrio? Because if that his how our seniors go out, it will be a shame, after missing two easier bowls due to the NCAA.

D, you are putting us in an impossible position them. If we do not consider removing Donofrio, then you claim that we are Golden slurpers that follow at his beck and call, and are not capable of independent thought. But if we do consider it, you say that we are not allowed to.

Then you post how Shannon removed Walton, as an example of what should be done when you have a poor defense. How is your comment any different from ours?

I think I will continue to consider it, because such speculation is what this blog is all about, and if we try to cater to your demands, then another person's demands, being different from yours, will be impossible to carry out.

One thing which is certain come Saturday night. The Hurricanes will play reasonable well on defense. Simply because both Goldie nd' Marky Mark had FOUR WEEKS to prepare for Louisville's offense and Teddy.

Nevertheless, the Cardinal staff, also, had four weeks to study film and what not.

Therefore, TWO tangibles/intangibles will determine the winner of the FOURTH-TIER Russell bowl...

Coach Strong > Golden

QB Teddy > QB Morris

Oh, Teddy intends to make y'all Cane bUbba's PAY DEARLY for DISRESPECTING and HATING on Teddy's mother and immediate family. Ouch!

But D, according to others on here, players and family don't even read what we write here, so how would Teddy know what we say about him?

Just curious....

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Golden had the most opportune time to gently ( LOL ) ask for the resignation of D'Onofrio or move him to an administration position within the football program, at the conclusion of the 2012 season.

Yet, Golden stubbornly refuse to do so and put D'Onofrio and himself OVER the football program!

Therefore there's NO guess work, 5 TITLES, regarding D'Onfrio, because he's here as long as Golden remains head coach at Miami, Florida.

Posted by: Five Titles | December 27, 2013 at 12:21 PM
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Believe it or not 5 TITLES, news regarding Hurricane fan-dom " calling out " ex-verbal commit's for CHANGING their minds travels fast in the South Florida football community.

Fans don't have to say ishtt bout a player on a blog in order for that player to know wham fans say.

Bridgewater know what um fans said/say about him choosing l'ville over um.

Talent level and playmaking ability dictate and trump design. You can't talk about one without factoring in the other.

Lets practice what we preach and lead by example, despite the fact that these ways are not initiatives of proper "process" execution.

When are U going to factor in coaching?

This above post is the catalyst belief behind the last ten years of mediocrity as Canes fans. Both are factors, but one trumping the other gives UM the excuse they need to not hire a coach as skilled and intellectually on par with the talent they are expected to recruit before being able and *expected* to win. Its extremely arrogant to expect kids with superior talents to commit and play for inferior talented coaches. Based off of what??? And that where the push to the importance of aesthetics comes in. Nothing is based on, on-field results but just things like: I'll raise U again (Raising Canes), U-Tough, Unity Counsel, and other cliches used off the field of play. So in essence, this is also "hope recruiting", by selling a man and not winning/results/success. Hope that on-field results are trumped by a kid's life long dream to be a Cane or that a great Windsor knot can propel U to a tackle in the backfield.

If its all about acquiring talent than what happened under Coker when the whole team was 5 star recruits? Leggett, Ryan Moore, Wright, Youngblood, Moss etc? Coaching mattered and the budget hire was exposed and has been getting exposed since.

This is the ideology pushed by the administration to keep the onus of accountability on the South Floridian athlete for football success at UM. Thus they can hire any budget coach that makes their heart flutter. We were sold on Coker, Shannon and now Golden with *stories* and not success as HC's. The former coaches at least and success and rings in some capacity.

If its all about recruiting top talent and thats truly the most important job duty for the coaches, then why pay Golden and D'No almost 3 million dollars to do just that? So our coaches are glorified recruiting coordinators? We could put together 12 of the brightest recruiters in the nation, call them our coaching staff, and pay them all with 3 million dollars, if this philosophy is correct.

Do yall see what Coker's auto-pilot NC did to the administration and to the psyche of fans who became fans around that time period? They witnessed the players win a NC on auto-pilot and now they believe that lightening striking the same place twice, can occur, and a superior game plan isn't needed or imperative. This is the new model for success at the U? Ok, well be prepared to compete for a NC every twenty years, like mostly everyone else.

Sorry that you came along only at the end of the season, but feel free to keep posting. Perhaps even get a typepad account so that we can recognize your ID over time.

Who the FU@K are U ? Paul Blart : Blog Cop ?

This blog has become as hard to read as it is to watch Senior Citizen scatporn.

or the Cane 'efense.

UM os executing the same advertising campaign that PSU employed with Joe Paterno.

The slogan and sells pitch was for kids to come and play for the *man* Joe Paterno was, not necessarily for his ability to coach U into an intelligent and physically dominant football player. Paterno was sainted by the PSU administration like a priest of sorts and became the mascot for the entire universities athletics department.

He also Raised Lions. Our team is being indoctrinated with this same level of mysticism (hope) over substance and results (that we have always been capable of meeting and exceeding). We can earn NC's, we don't have to lower our expectations and accept the manufacturing of success to excuse a group of people who are less skilled (proven by records and stats), but whom we (should) *believe* in.

We have been hijacked into feel good story after feel good story, but with no results.

I *hope* yall feel good though! Hallelujaaaaah!

LOLOL - Just saw on espn that the gators self blocking in their loss to Ga. So. made the number 1 "Not Top Ten" Play of the year! There ya go. Says it all.

TEDDY DONT PLAY DAT!

It's finally time for the Cardinal BEATDOWN. Canes are HISTORICALLY SORRY in December. Nothing much to play for either. On the other hand, Teddy has EVERYTHING to play for. Tall disrespected his momma. This thing will be ugly. Bonus is we get to see Soup have yet another meltdown. Yeah, the same Soup that swore off the canes after the Dukey whuppin and yet is already back gargling the sauce. Short memory for pie face

Odds moron #2 is molesting under privileged kids in the locker room showers and Alverage has been told of it but not alerted the police?

More or less likely than you think?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yeah, not only is that Soup'er a walking CONTRADICTION of the DORK sort. He's a F-O-O-L of the Orange nd' Green sort. Albeit that soup'ER is a fool with a Miami, Florida undergraduate degree in hand. hUh

By the way, I knew that Soup'ER pie face wasn't right! When he and his CS henchGOONS were touting the Canes as a Top 35/40 defensive unit prior to the first game. LMFAO Go bloody figures'.

Local hero and Louisville star Teddy Bridgewater will lead the Cardinal against the Miami Hurricanes in their season finale

“My mom always tells me, ‘Blessings are never denied, they’re just delayed,’’’ said Bridgewater, 21, a junior who earned his degree after only three years and is projected by NFL analysts as the nation’s No. 1 quarterback should he enter the upcoming draft. “Everyone has their time, and their time will come.’’

Teddy, I hope your mother is right. I'm looking forward to Miami's blessing in a coach, after next year.

Chit, I can vividly recall that that DORK soup and his Cane ILK predicted that Golden would have the Hurricanes in a B.C.S. bowl game in the 2014 season.

In other words, that PIE FACE and his MINIONS said Miami would be BACK in Golden's FOURTH season and what not.

Now, that CONTRADICTORY soup'ER says the Cane faithful have to give Goldie nd' Marky Mark TWO MORE seasons to make things right in Coral Gables.

So now, y'all Hurricane partisans have to wait until the 2016 season to see IF the Canes win a A.C.C. championship game and what not.

Shannon gets CHIT-CANNED after four seasons as Miami, Florida head coach.

And now, Goldie nd' Marky Mark have until the 2016 season to get the Canes back to elite college football status.

Go figures'!

I just hope y'all Cane loyalists have the patience to WAIT until the 2016 season.

While the Chief at Auburn turned around dire football matters in only ONE SEASON. hUh

Novel idiotic argument by Duh D. Golden and Dno want the defense to be bad. Sure. Why exactly would they want that?

Do yall see what Coker's auto-pilot NC did to the administration and to the psyche of fans who became fans around that time period? They witnessed the players win a NC on auto-pilot and now they believe that lightening striking the same place twice, can occur, and a superior game plan isn't needed or imperative. Coach Windsor Knot Golden is not held responsible for his lack of success on the football field. But his fans are not fans of Miami football. So they can care less if the succeeds on the football field.

D, the Chief at Auburn has players on that team that won a title in 2011. And he he had one year of coaching experience at Arkansas...State. But the players he was given were championship caliber, that he was familiar with from when he was the OC just the year before.

The players Golden had were the same that lost to USF. Very different scenarios. I do not believe you are not claiming that Gus Malzahn would have gotten Miami to the BCS title game if we had hired him last year.

ChampCane, FWIW, thank you for just attacking his tie. At least you are not claiming he is a pedo and a moron.

Why do you claim he is not being held responsible for his lack of success on the football field? Each year, they have more wins than the year before. But just like Shannon and Coker, the year that his numbers drop, he will get the same treatment as they got.

I don't believe that Al Golden produced to the talent he inherited with the amount of wins from his start here.

I factored the talent he ran off, into this years squad. Along with the talent that remained and talent that was brought in. The amount of time he personally coached those players. That lead to my motto of 11 wins or bust, from the start of the season. Once the schedule was factored in, with the conference championship game included in the total.

I expected superior coaching skills, than those shown these three, almost four, years.

Malzahn was handed a 3-9 team. The worst ever at auburn.

Went from worst to 1st in what is considered to be the tuffest cfb league in America.

Goldie was handed a team that Ppl said was talented but under achieved and needed to be "coached up/developed". AG took over a team that had 6-7 draft picks in 2010-11 and "had more draft picks than wins"( That was a quote from the golden tongue!)

Golden is such a great recruiter and developer of talent that his guys can't beat out the terrible leftovers....

Nash, he was handed a team that severely underachieved at 3-9, rather than a 3-9 level team. And that 12-1 team was two of the biggest miracle plays of the year away from having 3 losses, the same as Miami has.

Do you guys actually believe that Gus Malzahn would have taken the 2010 team to the BCS title game? Or that he had anything to do with a tipped pass for a TD and the Kick Six?

The only time you should be allowed to nit-pick a team's win, is when blown calls lead to losses. Like the Notre Dame game, with Jimmie Johnson, and the National Championship Game.

The fact that an extremely terrible team, in Auburn, was turned around in one year. With things like the number of players that produced and were new, along with the coach. That shines a very negative light on Al Golden.

Gaytor and nole trolls are out in full force... Gaytors are mad b/c half their players tranfered to better DII teams.
