Miami Hurricanes linebacker Denzel Perryman admitted to University of Miami Hospital

We already know the good news: linebacker Denzel Perryman, the Miami Hurricanes' best player on defense, is returning to UM for his senior season.

The bad news as of Friday night: Perryman is in University of Miami Hospital feeling nauseous and sick to his stomach. He is expected to stay the night.

HERE'S THE UPDATE AS OF 7:15 P.M.: Desmond Perryman, Denzel's dad, just texted me that Denzel is OK. "It's just the flu and dehydration. He'll be fine.''

Desmond told me Denzel saw a doctor and was then taken to the emergency room by someone from UM this afternoon after feeling sick. "He might have a little virus because he was throwing up,'' said Desmond, who was on his way to visit his son.

Get well soon, Denzel.

Good health to you and this should help him lose some weight which will help make him even more healthier!

How is this news?

You have been asked politely to leave us alone. You are not a rival, you are not on the schedule, and you were 4-8 last year, good for FIFTH in the state.

Because the last blog entry,

Grading Miami's recruiting class, roster as homestretch before Signing Day begins

was the shortest and most uninformative and empty of real substance in Eye on the U History...

All it talks about is how dUh U is #1 in the Country at "offering" Schollies, not actually landing them.

But, it's the new U thang. u are u afterall.

"homestretch before Signing Day begins"

That's a joke U ClUcks if U missed it.

Decommits and 2-Star signings abound come Feb.

GET WELL SOON MY MAN

Vandy hires up and coming Stanford Defensive Coordinator Derek Mason as their next Football Coach... Can we trade Golden and his BFF for him right now ?

U just can't help Urselves... The Canes, just months after finalizing their NCAA sanctions, are back to their old ways and commit a serious recruiting violation providing on campus visiting recruits extra benefits from Booster Luther Campbell...

*** The quarterback referenced by Campbell in his tweet is Miami commit Brad Kaaya, a four-star prospect of California who is one of several recruits visiting Coral Gables this weekend. Adding another layer to the story is the fact that Kaaya's mother is Angela Means-Kaaya, an actress best known for her role as Felicia in the comedy Friday.

That contact--however accidental--is technically a violation of NCAA Bylaw 13.1.2.1 which reads as follows:

"All in-person, on-and off-campus recruiting contacts with a prospect or the prospect’s relatives or legal guardian(s) shall be made only by authorized institutional staff members. Such contact, as well as correspondence and telephone calls, by representatives of an institution’s athletics interests are prohibited except as otherwise permitted in this section."

For Miami, which just weathered a lengthy NCAA investigation after former booster Nevin Shapiro detailed years worth of improper benefits he doled out to Hurricane athletes, NCAA violations of any sort are a serious matter.***

Not sure which is worse, the fact that Miami is still recruiting illegally (Boats n Hoes), Kaaya is going to decommit and flip to UCLA anyways, or the fact that Kaaya's Mom was the Crack Whore in the movie Friday !

But Kaaya and Moms no doubt will enjoy their mini-Miami vacation, like all the other Jan. visitors that WON'T sign with U, before jetting back to L.A. for good and be a Bruin the next 4 years.

* * * Miami Hurricanes Booster Luther Campbell Kicked off Campus

The report notes that Campbell spilled the details on Twitter. Apparently a recruit who was taking an official visit asked to take a picture with the rapper, and soon the associate athletic director barred Campbell from the premises.

This is a serious violation, from a quality Institutional control standpoint from a Program that is just mere months off a long 3 year cloud of sanctions and still very nuch in the NCAA's eye. The interaction is technically a potential serious violation of NCAA Bylaw 13.1.2.1:

All in-person, on-and off-campus recruiting contacts with a prospect or the prospect’s relatives or legal guardian(s) shall be made only by authorized institutional staff members. Such contact, as well as correspondence and telephone calls, by representatives of an institution’s athletics interests are prohibited except as otherwise permitted in this section.

The recruit who was caught in the middle of the unexpected development was Brad Kaaya, who is a quarterback from California. With the recent recruiting dead period officially in the rearview mirror, there were a number of high school prospects taking visits on campus this weekend, but Kaaya’s situation adds a bit more intrigue to the story.

His mother is actress Angela Means-Kaaya, who appeared in the movie Friday among other things.* * *

He just now realized he set himself up, of another yr of @NOCOACHD..... OMG GAG

Their is one thing Al Golden is good at, he can sell anything to those kids, but the reputation is getting out, A LOT OF TALK BUT CAN NOT BACK IT UP, I am on Golden he is just like Joe Pa, he will do everything to protect his friend.... CHERRY PICK, TRY TO HIDE ACTUAL FACTS..... 30 yr Cane fan the man has more excuses then a used car salesman. Another fact Al Golden and Shalala went to the NCAA hearing and did not tell them they had held back 9 Scholarships, so they asked the ncaa to take them 9 that they didn't use, the ncaa said no. It was the U fault, not the ncaa. So now the U has to lose 3 scholarships per yr for the next 3 yrs, LMAO so Golden keeps saying Depth, why didn't he use the 9 he held back for depth, CUZ HE DONT KNOW HOW TO RUN A PROGRAM, it would have been nice to be on a clean slate or had more depth.. NEITHER ONE HE ACCOMPLISHED, if he would have told them about the 9 held back we would be exactly at 85 Scholarships this yr or more depth>>>ONCE AGAIN NEITHER ONE....ROFLMAO ITS A MONKEY FARM!!

Ha!...the gator cyberpunk is now an authority on recruiting. You wouldn't think a uF fan would have such knowledge given the on field, under-achieving performance of their "stellar" recruiting classes over the past few years...

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....you lost...it's ok...it happens.
But please stop embarassing yourself.

HaHa!!! GO CANES!!!

On Mannys last Blog, according to the ESPN 300, 2 of the espn 300 WR's are Braxton Berrios who was 1 of the top performers according to coaches at the Under Armor Game and Darrel Langham is also an ESPN 300 WR. They are 3 stars on Rivals but high 4 stars on ESPn.

What does that say? That recruting IS NOT EXACT. Just like at Notre Dame, UF, Ok, No Dame made the title game last year, but could have easily lost 5 games that year. UF has the most or SAme as FSU in terms of 4 and 5 stars on their roster, and they went 4-8.......

#7 on Scout, #8 ESPn #9 Rivals, and #10 247 sports AND we have 6-7 SPOTS left now that we had 3 Decommits. Many of those top schools only have 2-3 slots.

Look for us to finish somewhere in the top 5. 12 ESPN 300 players, and they run the AA game, so I like their rankings.......
STAND BY THE U

The Jenkins kid from NJ at Def Tackle is a 3 star. Someone on the last blog wrote these low star players are getting attention

Guys, 3 stars ARE NOT LOW stars. 1 and 2 stars are lower rated. Those 3 star kids are what UCF was built on, all those Boise State teams, Most of Oregons teams. Oklahoma State, K state.

GIVE IT TIME

Look for us to finish somewhere in the top 5. 12 ESPN 300 players, and they run the AA game, so I like their rankings.......

STAND BY THE U

Posted by: Dom | January 18, 2014 at 12:30 AM

Son, U are too stUpid for words. Out of ESPN's Top-300 there are maybe 25-30 that have yet to commit. And NOT ONE is considering U. Combine that with at least 4 more flipping decommits and then U'll have 10 spots remaining for plenty of unranked and 2 star scrubs just outside the top-1000 high school recruits with ZERO Top-Program offers left though... Go Gett'em Goldy !!!

2 star. Miami has 12 ESPN 300 recruits.. yes none have signed. But 12 on the espn 300 with 3 decommitts are still counted on the 26. Plus 2 rivals juco 100 players.
14 of the 26 are considered the best of the best, and the other guys are all 3 star players.........

#2. Go look it up on ESPN. Miami is tied with FSU with 12 ESPN 300 recruits. (top 300 players on Espn). Alabama has 17, but we are not that far behind

Article is on bleacher report. Luke cleared it up. He was not banned, and him and the Miami (U Admin) cleared it up tonight and everyone is fine and dandy now.

Luke probably just wanted to meet Felicia from the movie Friday(Kaaya's mom). Move on , Nothing to see here (naked gun movie)

People are still whinning about a damn star. Are u a five star on job, can u still get the job done. That's all that matters getting the job done. U want a coach to coach u players while u tear them down on the back end. If that ain't the tea pot calling the kettle black. Stop crying u want old school miami be an old school fan and fight with them. Bunch of crying hypocrites.

I think we should give UF all of our current recruits, they might be able to 6-6 with the added depth!

Line Backers- Current recruiting grade: C+ Overall position grade: D+

More excuses to come. Guaranteed.

Of the 4 O lineman committed, 3 are tackles and one is a projected center. We need help a guard.

Why do I feel we still have holes to fill, yet we are not doing anything to fill them?

Can't wait for the Kirby/Perryman smack down to commence next year. Still need LB depth, though

4-8

Lost to Ga Southern

Yet the media, ESPN, Mark Shlabach still ranked F_U in the not so early top 25. LOL LOL LOl LOL

The fascination by the media for the mighty gators, and fantasy world that the 4-8 Floriduh gators live in is unbelievable!

Who cares

Manny, how about a post about who is on campus this weekend?

Yes is there is a list who is visiting this weekend and the rest of the month before signing day.

From the ACC Blog on Espn:

"Tom in Santa Monica, Calif., writes: As a Miami fan, I commend your recent piece on Coach Al Golden. The last two years have fielded the worst defensive units in the program's history. The numbers are horrific. ... The bloom is most definitely off the rose with this guy. He's made some notable improvements in terms of recruiting, strength & conditioning, and some aspects of the culture (though that has understandably dampened with all of the losing), but his game day woes continue and show no sign of abating. While at Miami, Golden is 0-9 against Top 25* teams (*teams that have ended the year ranked in the Top 25). And those contests haven't even been close -- we're losing them on an average of nearly 3 TDs a game. Outcoached and outplayed in every facet. His ShamWow infomercial talk has almost exhausted itself. He'll reel in a great class in February, and he'll continue to get a lot of mileage out of the NCAA situation (the "cloud" that wiped out his "time table"), but for those willing to look closer, as you have done with your article, Al Golden is looking more and more to be the wrong guy to return Miami to any place of actual relevance. Keep up the good work.

Adelson writes: Thanks for your note, Tom. I am not writing Golden off yet. The defense has been abysmal, and I think staff changes were warranted. But he did get this team to nine wins this year, which should count as progress. At the same time, he needs to definitively prove he is closing the gap on Florida State and can deliver more than nine wins. He's on the clock."

Along with Manny's decidedly less Talking points tone in the recruiting analysis...I am glad that reality has set in and AG will be looked at with clear vision this year.

Mike you can go to Scout.com and the Miami site and see who is visiting today and anytime. Once on the Miami Scout, at the top where the tabs are, you click on Football recruiting and you'll see Visits. Yeah Manny WHAT'S UP, how about putting up some RECRUITING INFO!!!!

"Tom in Santa Monica, Calif.."

The web is getting bigger I see

Golden for Prez? Don't buy the hype.
Not a fan of these Northeast Coaches. Golden, D'Onofrio, Schiano, Sparano, and all the rest can go back to the area they came from. These Coaches are all mediocre talents and opportunity should be given to our own, homegrown, southern talented Coaches. I never believed for a second Penn State would hire Al Golden, no way!
All those media types spewing nonsense that UM will never again win consistently because of the changes in recruiting are clueless! We need exceptional coaching as a starting point and we're not getting it!
Perryman will go Pro next year based on his God given ability. He has not been developed by Golden and his mediocre defensive staff. Perryman has received nutrition and weight training primarily at UM. If I remember correctly, Golden and his cronies are not responsible for those areas.

No to Schiano? I agree, and it seems like the rest of the country is catching on to your sentiment.

Golden would be responsible for nutrition and weight training if they were not producing results. However, I do agree that he is not the one directly involved in those areas.

I wouldn't put a fence around coaching, but if the right S Fla guy comes along, he's worth more than an out-of-towner.

This is a link to a rally great scatter plot of where teams ended up in offense yds/game & pts /game & defense yds Allowed/game pts allowed/game:

:::Perspective:::

First of all we need to keep the local talent. Can't be in a horse raise whithout horses.
Lane
Cook
Sony
Clark
Valentine
Rudolph
Dixon
Bethel
Collins-2013
Mathew-2013
We had a very legit chance at getting all of them. They grew up Cane fans and have relatives, community ties and ex Cane players as coaches that support the program.AG has got to capitalize on those assets and use their influence to our advantage .
There's no way that an out of state coach or even FSU and UF assistants should come in our backyard and have an edge on us.
Second this coaching staff needs to develop our talent. Physically and mentally.
3 star recruits from SoFla would be 4 stars in 80% of the country. They need to be developed.
This program could be back on top in a very short period of time. But this coaching staff needs to keep the local talent home and coach them up.
AG ball is on your court, make it happen!

So the Canes are on NCAA Probation through 2016, meaning ANY violation the next 3 years no matter how small is a serious one. How in the World does the compliance department even let a Booster like Luke within 500 feet of the Cane Athletic facility during recruiting visitations is just beyond moronic and deserves a penalty. I say that as a Cane fan hoping those Miami administrators get things fixed over there so we don't ever have to go through the NCAA garbage we did the last 3 years. And If the NCAA does hit us with recruiting sanctions even just for just this "minor" infraction, we only have ourselves to blame and deserve it for total and utter incompetence.

Kayaa seems like he's visiting or on vacation snapping pics with Luke. He should come and coach high schoolers or optimist ball with Luke. That's a bad look.

Probation or not, if the NCAA looks the other way regarding Manziel and the paid autograph sessions, a photo penalty would be beyond ridiculous.
Haters who post here as "fans' are lower than scum, if that's even possible.

The Turd base just DOES NOT GET IT!!!!!!!

YOU ALL LOST!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.....

The SEC....WHERE ITS ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS!!!!

HEY WE DONT NEED NO STINKIN SPRING GAME....WE DA MIGHTY GATORS!!!!

RUFF RUFF....

Luke should have known better. As in the know as he is regarding high-school recruting and as much love as he has for the []_[] he's gotta do better than that. That was his bad. Bigtime.

Don't get too caught up in star search. This is about getting good athletic players from the region that fit the system. I wish we could get the Dalvin Cooks (although it's still not over), but other than that i'm not too concerned about the class as is. The guys in our back yard that leave for the competition is a disappointment, but the outta town highly rated kids i'm not bent out of shape over. The rest is about keeping local kids local to rep the region.

That said I hope we land Kayaa.

Vague and without context. Report it in good faith but Luke is more fan than "booster". All students on campus non-institutional staff members. There has to be a more concrete connection to the athletics department than super-fandom. I think the reaction was due to Luke's past affiliation with the football program and previous allegations investigated by the NCAA more than anything.

any 2-stars on the horizon Goldy n Co. ?

bUh bye Kaaaya, git yoass back to La La Land

U mU'Fu'ferkers are scrammbling so so so bad in the 3rd. week of JanUary.

a dozen nobodies are waiting by the phone for Ur Big Al to call.

Miami must have really beaten these haters on this blogs team badly. It took Dumbo in Tally 5-6 years now counting his 2 yrs when he was with Bowden to get FSu to this level. Butch Davis won in his 6th year. Al had 3 years w/Looming Sanctions and INHERITED A Roster that had all those people leave to the NFL besides the Seniors.

You guys see the talent on the field. Goldie has really only had 2 classes so the JR and SR class is on Shannon. and we had no stars/no NFL talent and none last year. U CANT WIN W/O having talent.

You add 30 more kids to what we have now and by 2015 season, we are on the same playing level with FSU counting another 25 next year in Feb 2015. This class is loaded with talent, but is usuaslly 2-3 years out, so dont expect much from freshman....

14 of the 26 committs so far COUNTING 3 DECOMMITS, 12 are listed on the espn 300, top 300 High School players
2 ESPN 300 WR's
