Hurricanes land commitment from one of the country's top 2016 quarterbacks

The Hurricanes picked up a commitment from one of the nation's top-rated quarterbacks Monday night. But they've got wait another two years before he can suit up for them.

Jack Allison, a 6-5, 200-pound pro-style passer from Palmetto, Fla., pledged his commitment to UM on Twitter Monday night, two days after attending a football camp at UM.

Allison is considered the top quarterback prospect in the state in the 2016 class -- ninth overall among pro-style passers according to 247Sports. He had offers from Alabama, Missouri, South Florida, Tennessee, and UCF.

Allison finished his sophomore season throwing for 1,778 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions and led his team to the state playoffs.

The Hurricanes also picked up a commitment from 2016 linebacker Michael Pinckney (6-1, 215) of Jacksonville Raines over the weekend.

Miami has 13 commitments as part of the 2015 class including one quarterback -- Tampa Hillsborough's Dwayne Lawson.
