Jan Jorgensen, left, the Danish-born chef and owner of the Two Chefs restaurant in Pinecrest, has recently opened Two Chefs Too at the site of the old Mark’s Place on NE 123rd Street.
Now the new place is open for lunch as well as dinner. Picture this modest luncheon entree: Gallantine of Foie Gras w/ Chicken liver, Manchego Cheese, Shiitakes, Cognac and Foccacia, for $14.50.
Jan’s genius is creating dishes that show off the qualities of a wine without being so showy that they take center stage. That’s the highest praise a wine fan can give. When European and California winemakers come to town to show off their wines to the locals, his restaurant is where they go.
